![]() Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter, One Piece, and Dragon Age. I'm just a fool who gets plot bunnies stuck in my head for weeks at a time until my brain forces me to write out the first couple chapters to a story that I know I'll never publish on here and will entirely lose interest in the next time an idea gets stuck up there. I'm sure by now I've got at least 20 or so files in my Google Docs for stuff like that, and it's always a little frustrating to see whenever I open it up to work on whatever currently has my attention captured. Sorry to anybody following/waiting on either Wandering Mage or V For Vectors. They're not technically abandoned but my old laptop entirely died about a year ago, taking about two or three completed chapters for both stories with it. Additionally, looking back on them and rereading to see where I was at and what I had planned next made it incredibly obvious (at least to me) how badly in need of revisions/editing they both are. They're my first attempts at writing anything more than basic drabbles, and I think it really shows in some of the ways that I wrote. I have stupidly high standards for myself that I logically know aren't terribly realistic, but that doesn't make it any easier reading some of the incredible works that other authors on here publish regularly and subconsciously comparing myself or asking why I'm not making something great too. I'm working on getting better at just appreciating myself and my work instead of constantly competing, but it's slow going. For at least the immediate future, I'm going to be focusing on writing self-contained one-shots/two-shots to focus more on reclaiming the joy I used to take in writing as well as working on my technical writing skills and developing a way that I feel comfortable writing in. One thing that is immediately apparent when reading my various attempts (both published and unpublished) is that I don't really have a style of my own and adopt too much from either the original work of fiction that I'm writing for or another story on here that captured my attention and inspired the most recent plot bunny. It makes it really difficult for me to come back and continue work on a story in the future, since the odds are pretty good that what I'm writing most recently is written in an entirely different manner/style. Anyways, love you all. Stay inspired and keep dreaming. Lamentation Some Info About Me: Gonna come back and finish this later, the boyfriend is impatiently waiting to kick my ass at video games. |
