"Uh, Crusher, didn't Darington win the race?" Pickle asked as he and the other drove to the park. "Why take vengeance on Blaze?"

"Pah-lease, Pickle," Crusher scoffed. "That stunt truck might have won, but there's no way he could if Blaze hasn't been towing him. That good-four-tires has done enough good, and now, he's gonna PAY."

"Crusher—"

"Shh!" Crusher hushed him as he grabbed him and pulled him to a bush. "They're nearby,"

'They'?

Pickle was confused by the statement until he heard a familiar laugh. He peeked out of the bushes to find Blaze's Mom Phoenix and Blaze's Dad Flame at the soccer field, playing with Blaze's little sister Sparkle. It took the green truck a moment of concentration before he realized what Crusher was planning to do.

"Oh no," he turned to the dark blue truck stiffly. "No, No, NO! NO! You are NOT hurting Blaze's family!"

"Oh, don't worry, Pickle, I won't hurt them…" Crusher grinned, eyes sparkling icily. "Not much, anyway,"

"Sparkle's just a kid!" Pickle defended with a growl. "You will NOT swoop down so low to hurt a CHILD, Crusher! I won't let you!"

"Chill out, Pickle, I won't hurt Sparkle," Crusher reassured him before smirking, his eyes turning fully crystal blue. "Of course, SOMEONE has got to go get Blaze and be their 'hero' to rescue them…"

"Crusher—"

Before Pickle could interject, however, Crusher already stomped a tire on the ground, causing a series of black rocks to sprout all the way to the family nearby.

"Woah!"

"Gaskets!"

Phoenix and Flame yelped as the black rocks surrounded them and lifted them up, trapping them in cages. Sparkle dropped the soccer ball and gasped.

"Mom! Dad!" She zoomed over to them, jumping in an attempt to set them free. "Are you both okay?!"

"We're fine, Sparkle!" Phoenix assured her.

"We're… just… stuck!" Flame hissed as he tried to force open the cage that they were trapped in. "The rocks are too strong!"

"I'll go get Blaze and his friends!" Sparkle said before turning to zoom off.

Meanwhile, Crusher laughed in victor as he and Pickle watched the orange truck drove off to get help.

"My plan is working!"

"And what will you do once Blaze and the others get here?" Pickle questioned.

"Oh, don't worry, Pickle, I already thought of that," Crusher cackled. "I've tested these rocks last night. They're so powerful that they're indestructible! There's NO way Blaze will be able to cut it or melt it or anything! His parents will be trapped… and his friends are NEXT!"

"I still don't understand how those rocks came out of nowhere," Stripes shook his head as Gabby fixed up Darington's tire.

"Has Stripes seen rocks before?" Zeg asked.

"Yes… but also no," Stripes cringed at his own answer.

"Okay, that made no sense whatsoever," Starla deadpanned.

"Starship," Watts gave her girlfriend a warning glance. "Let Stripes explain,"

"THANK YOU!" Stripes took a deep breath before taking out his book. "It says here in the Magic Encyclopedia that those black rocks had come from where a beautiful golden flower called the sun drop was dug up, in a kingdom far away. The princess of the kingdom had gotten the magic of the sunstone and had managed to reunite the moonstone with it. It also says here that even if the sunstone called upon the rocks, the moonstone is the one that completely controls it,"

"The sunstone?" Blaze perked up. "Like… the one that our friend Roarian uses to keep himself alive and flying?"

"Hmm… I'm not sure," Stripes frowned, showing them the picture of two oval-shaped stones, one gold and yellow with a sun symbol on it while the other was blue and crystal with a crescent moon symbol on it. "Does it look like this one?"

"No…" AJ shook his head. "Roarian's is shaped like an actual sun. Plus, it's bigger,"

"Well, there are different types of Sunstones… but this is the most powerful one of all," Stripes said, reading the passage. "From what it says, the sunstone fell from the sky, as did the moonstone. Both came from somewhere in space, so they're really powerful!"

"But how will we know if it's the sunstone or the moonstone controllin' the rocks?" Starla asked.

"I may be able to help with that,"

"Roarian!" Blaze gasped as they turned to see the flying lion make his way towards them. "What are you doing here?"

"The sunstone I have may not be the same as the one connected to the rocks, but it is still connected to many stones on Earth, including these rocks," Roarian answered.

"Woah!" Darington's jaw dropped at the sight of the large lion with wings. "You… You're an ACTUAL flying lion???"

"Zeg never seen flying lion before!" Zeg said. "And pretty sunstone!"

"Too bad it's not the same as the one in the book," Stripes sighed.

"It may not be, but I may be of assistance," Roarian offered before driving over to one of the rocks. "Hmm…"

"What is it?" Watts asked as they watched the flying lion narrow his eyes.

"This… is the moonstone's control," Roarian told them.

"How are you so sure?" Stripes questioned, flipping through his book.

"The rocks… my sunstone could feel the power it reflects," Roarian hissed. "The power of rage, vengeance and the villainous desire of the wielder. Only through dark emotions, the moonstone could wield the rocks with such grace and control,"

"So… someone has the Moonstone," Blaze said with a frown. "And that same someone is using the stone against us,"

"But who could it be?" Gabby wondered with a hum.

"BLAZE! BLAZE! BLAZE!"

"Sparkle?" Blaze turned to see his sister dashing towards them. "What's wrong?!"

"Mom... Dad... trapped! Rock cages!"

"Tell me, young one, did the rocks look something like this?" Roarian asked, pointing to one of the sharp rocks.

"Yeah! That's what the rocks look like! Also, who are you exactly?"

"This is our friend Roarian," Blaze introduced. "He's here to help,"

"Those same rocks popped out during the race and got Darington hurt," AJ added.

"Dad tried to pull on them, but he said that they were too strong," Sparkle said. "We need to save them, Blaze!"

"Okay, lead the way!" Blaze told his sister.

"Follow me!" Sparkle urged. "Hurry!"

She led them out of the Monster Dome and into the park. As they did, Crusher watched them from the bush with a smirk, waiting them to get near the cages. Pickle looked worried for the group and for his best friend.

Or what was happening to his best friend.

"Crusher, are you ABSOLUTELY sure that this is a good idea?"

"Stop doubting me, Pickle, I KNOW that this is a good idea!" Crusher snickered, eyes never leaving the group, whom he watched closely.

As soon as they were close enough, he smirked and stomped his tire on the ground once more. Suddenly, more black rocks emerged from the ground and all around Starla, Watts and Gabby, Stripes, Darington, and Zeg.

"Guys! Are you okay?!" Blaze gasped.

"We're fine!" Stripes answered, trying to break free from the cages. "Just… stuck!"

"It's no use," Flame sighed. "I've tried. I can't even transform while being inside,"

"What are we gonna do?" AJ asked.

"Roarian, is there anything that could break through these rocks?" Blaze asked.

"Only a sword made from these rocks can break them," Roarian answered. "But that is too difficult to find. There is, however, another thing that could break open the cages,"

"What is it?" Sparkle questioned.

"The Sunstone described in the Magic Encyclopedia," Roarian replied. "It balances with the Moonstone. With it, along with the lost scrolls of Magical Chants, we would be able to take control of these rocks and free everyone!"

"That's perfect! But where would we find those things?" Blaze asked.

"My sunstone would be able to help track down it's magic," Roarian said. "Come, we must take haste,"

As they talked, however, they failed to see a certain duo eavesdropping at their conversation…
