Note: Just for fun because this is an idea I had XP

Their story started quite complicated. They were rivals, enemies, two peas of two different pods, always battling to be the best.

One was a fair winner, the fastest racer in all the world. The hero of Axle City. One of the friendliest monster machine anyone could ever ask for.

The other was a cheater and a sore loser. The anti-hero of Axle City. The rudest, meanest monster machine the city could ask for.

They were always at each other's throats. The cheater cheated his way through everything, especially when it comes to beating the hero. It seemed almost impossible for the two to ever get along.

Until that one day.

One race managed to bring the two closer than they've ever thought.

X

It started as a crush.

Blaze didn't think much of it. He just thought that he was starting to like his rival in a friendlier and best friend way.

Crusher was in denial of it. He didn't want to think about it and waved it away with every cheat he did against his rival.

Only Pickle seemed to notice the... interesting tension between them. Only he was trying to encourage them to speak their mind.

Blaze would laugh out the efforts, stating that they were just friends. Crusher would immediately refuse the efforts, stating that whatever his wishes were all nonsense.

But as the months go, their feelings got deeper, and they found themselves thinking of one another, even from far away. Blaze had started getting rattled, and Crusher had started to doubt his cheating.

That's when they realized how true their feelings really were.

Blaze started hiding it from AJ. He hid it from the rest of his friends and everyone else that knew him. He knew that he shouldn't, but he cared about their opinions, and he knew how much they disliked Crusher and his cheats.

Crusher hid it well enough with his usual behavior. No one could sniff out his growing feelings for the red truck. Only Pickle knew it, not that he could hide it from his best friend, who knew about it the whole time.

But secrets like these don't stay hidden for long.

X

Apparently Pickle knowing about their feelings isn't such a good idea.

That day had started simple. Pickle had arranged a scavenger hunt with 'treasure', much to Crusher's delight, and since AJ was with Gabby to help her with number of trucks that needed repairs, the green truck invited Blaze to come along with them.

But to Crusher's panic and Blaze's worry, Pickle had to leave after a call from his sister, so the duo had no choice but to do the scavenger hunt themselves, just to not waste the green truck's efforts.

Unbeknownst to them, all of it was according to his plan...

"Are you sure that we're going the right way, Crusher?" Blaze asked as they trekked through the forest.

"Well, excuse ME, but THIS is where the map's telling me to go," Crusher huffed.

"How about... I take a look at it?" Blaze offered, reaching out and ignoring the fact that his tire brushed against the other's. "I'm... pretty good with maps,"

"Um... okay..." Crusher gulped and immediately turned away to hide his red face.

Blaze took the map and hid his reddening face as he turned. "O~kay, according to this, we should get through this path..."

He led them through the forest and headed out to a grass plain in the middle of the forest, beneath the trees. They stared in surprised as they saw a table for two cleanly and fancily laid out with a vase in the middle holding two roses; one red and one blue.

"What...?"

They approached the table and found a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, along with two plates and a piece of paper leaning against the vase. Blaze kept the map and picked up the paper to read it.

['Here's a treat for two 3 ~ Pickle']

"Huh, I guess this 'scavenger hunt' was planned," the red truck sighed.

"Looks like it," Crusher let out a sigh as he took the paper and read it. "Well, all of this scavenging's made me hungry, so I might as well eat,"

"Same," Blaze nodded and headed over to the table.

Crusher glanced down at the paper and turned it over. He stiffened at the note written in Korean.

['당신의 작은 데이트를 즐길 (Enjoy your little date)~ ^^']

'That little-' Crusher gritted his teeth.

"Crusher, what's wrong?" Blaze asked.

"Nothing..." Crusher sighed and kept the paper. "Let's just eat and leave,"

"Okay...?" Blaze frowned but nodded as he watched the dark blue truck take his seat across the table.

The two then proceeded to eat. From the nearby bush, Pickle and his sisters watched the duo.

"They're eating together... but they're not eating TOGETHER," Lily emphasized. "They need a little... push,"

"We can always push them closer to kiss," Tillie offered.

"Tillie, too violent," Millie frowned.

"We need a more... subtle approach," Frilly suggested.

"Music! Music!" Baby Gherkin took out a speaker.

"Ooh, romantic music!" Lily giggled.

"And that's why I asked you all for help," Pickle chuckled and turned on the music player.

At once, romantic music filled the air. Crusher and Blaze stopped eating, their faces burning in red before they turned away to try to hide their blushes.

"Uhm..."

The two cleared their throats and proceeded to eat their spaghetti's slower. Pickle sighed and took out his wand with a huff.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures,"

"Love spell?" Millie questioned.

"No, they don't need my help for that," Pickle chuckled. "They just need a little more push,"

He blasted the air above them, and heart balloons fell from above the duo. Crusher's face heated up more before he groaned. Blaze hissed and gulped as he awkwardly fiddled with his tires.

"Uh... quite a... um, strange forest... uh..." the red truck bit his bottom lip.

"Yeah..." Crusher hid his face in the tablecloth of the table. "Ugh..."

Blaze nodded slowly before looking around and turning to see Pickle just behind the bush with his sisters. He narrowed his eyes at him with a questioning look. The green truck huffed and motioned for him to go for it. The red truck shook his head and motioned for the other to stop all of the magic. Pickle was insistent and shook his head back before motioning to the rose then to Crusher more.

'Pickle, you...' Blaze sighed and glared at the green truck for a moment before picking up the red rose. "Hey, Crusher..."

"Mm?" Crusher acknowledged him but didn't bother to show his face.

"I..." Blaze took a deep breath. "I've got something to tell you..."

"Hmm?" Crusher glanced up a little, and his face burnt deeper at the sight of the rose. "What... is it...?"

"I... I like you," Blaze admitted, face reddening and breath hitching in hesitation as he handed the rose. "Like, really like you,"

"You... You do...?" Crusher's eyes widened as he took the rose into his tire. "Really...? You... You're not joking?"

"Not joking, whatsoever," Blaze smiled. "and you know that I'd never lie,"

Crusher's eyes widened, his cheeks flushing as he stared down at the rose. Blaze gulped, realizing that he didn't know the other's feelings and if he reciprocated his own.

"O-Oh! It's okay if you don't-"

"I do,"

"Wh-What?" Blaze was taken back.

"I... I like you too," Crusher hesitantly spoke before sighing. "but with everything that's happening... I don't think it'll work out,"

"What do you mean?" Blaze asked.

"Blaze... your friends... your family... they HATE me," Crusher explained. "And that's not even an emphasis, they really, REALLY hate me. I... I might get in the way in your bond, and as much as I like you... I... I don't want you ruined because of me,"

"Crusher..." Blaze hissed as he watched the other turn to leave, causing him to reach out and grab him. "Crusher, wait!"

"Please, Blaze..."

"Crusher, wait, please," Blaze sighed. "I don't care what the others think. Please, let's give this a chance. I'm sure things will be fine,"

"How do you know?" Crusher asked, unsure.

"Because I'll be there for you if they ever try to hurt you," Blaze replied, pulling the other closer gently until they were face to face. "I promise. No matter what, I'll always be by your side, if you give me the chance,"

"I..." Crusher gulped as he stared at the other with soft eyes.

From the bushes, Pickle and his sisters watched the duo with anticipation.

"Come on, Crusher, say yes!" Lily encouraged in a whisper.

"If he doesn't, I am VERY much ready to help," Tillie offered.

"Same," Pickle grumbled, but he knew that they couldn't do much as they watched the duo stare at each other before the dark blue truck sighed.

"Do you really wanna take the risk?"

"Yes," Blaze nodded. "No one else has to know if you don't want them to,"

Crusher looked hesitant but managed to smile and nod. "Okay,"

Blaze look thrilled as he leaned up and caught the other in a gentle kiss. Crusher was surprised but returned the kiss nonetheless with a smile. Just as he did, there was a cheer and whoop, and the duo turned to see Pickle and his sisters celebrating.

"Oh boy..." the red truck sighed.

"Mood killers," the dark blue truck shook his head. "Let's just ignore them,"

"Right," Blaze grinned and pulled on the other's face gently. "Now, where were we?"

Crusher chuckled before their lips met once more.

And that's how their love story started out.
