The night was peaceful and quiet in the town of Axle City. The streets were empty as the wind softly blew against the trees in the park.

Amongst the darkness and the peacefulness, there was a zip through the streets. But it wasn't from a truck nor from a race car.

No, it was from something smaller. Much smaller.

Small but still as dangerous.

The ebony black being sped across the streets, blue stripes glowing in the night as he sped. His blood red shoes hit the streets with every run before he skidded to a stop and looked around.

"Hmm… so this is the city Grammy Aleena went off to…"

He took out a tracker from his quills, heterchromatic eyes of emerald green and ruby red scanning the screen. A blinking light of icy blue came on the screen, making him blink in shock.

"No… this can't be right… then again, if Grammy Aleena survived… then so could have… HE…"

He soon heard tire tracks making their way towards him, along with some whistling. He turned to see Debris the garbage truck cleaning up the streets. He sighed.

"Time to go before I'm spotted,"

He kept the tracker and was just about to take out his cyan emerald when he heard a gasp.

"Oh my!" Debris spoke in surprise. "Who are you? I've never seen a being like you before…"

He growled and flicked his spare hand, causing a glowing, bright green chain to appear.

"Someone who you shouldn't have seen."

With that, he threw the chains around the garbage truck.

"CHAOS CHAINS!"

Debris yelped as the chains surrounded him and tied him up until he was knocked out. The chains lost their glow as he fell to the ground. The being turned away from before zooming off into the night.

The air felt strange the moment he woke up from his bed. The energy he felt around wasn't as dull and normal as it usually is.

There was a strange energy in the city that he felt almost immediately.

A familiar strange energy.

"Chaos Energy?" Pickle questioned as he served them breakfast. "Are you sure, Crusher?"

"No, but… I think so," Crusher nodded. "And my Chaos Emerald did so too. I could feel the Chaos Energy all too easily. I… I think one of my family is here,"

"What makes you say that?" Pickle asked. "It could be anyone from your world,"

"Yes, but the energy is strong, like really strong," Crusher sighed. "Only my family has the strongest Chaos Energy in all of Mobius, along with Uncle Silver and Uncle Scrooge's families. But which of them could be here…?"

"Hmm… maybe we should go out after breakfast and find it?" Pickle suggested. "Can you track it?"

"I can use my Chaos Emerald without using much energy, yes," Crusher nodded before letting out another sigh. "I really hope it's one of them. I… I miss them so much…"

"Aww, it's okay, Crusher," Pickle patted his back gently. "I'm sure it's one of them, don't worry,"

Crusher gave him a smile. "Thanks, Pickle,"

As soon as they were done with breakfast, the duo headed out. They made their way to the park, where Crusher felt the Chaos Energy lead him through, before they ended up at an alley way.

There, they found Blaze and AJ with Officer Anna, along with a few officers around them. They were untying Debris from some green chains, which made Crusher gasp.

"Oh Chaos…"

"What's wrong?" Pickle asked, turning to him.

"Theres only ONE being who's ever used Chaos Chains before…" Crusher murmured. "My older brother Mauglie,"

"Do you think he's here?" Pickle's eyes widened. "Like, here-here?"

"Ill have to track down the energy to find out," Crusher took a deep breath and turned around. "Can you stall them all until I get back?"

"You got it, Crusher!" Pickle nodded.

Crusher offered him a smile before zooming off to follow the energy. Pickle watched him leave before turning towards Debris and the officers.

"…and he was nothing that I have ever seen before!" Debris told them. "He went zoom-zoom after trapping me the chains!"

"Thank you, Debris, that's all we need to know," Officer Anna gave a nod.

"And maybe you should rest up, Debris," Blaze suggested. "You look like you had a rough night,"

"Yes, very," Debris shuddered. "May I go now?"

"Just one more thing," Anna interrupted. "You said something about him taking out some kind of emerald?"

"Yes, yes, an emerald, but it also looks like a diamond of some sort?" Debris shrugged. "It is the color of cyan, and it was glowing brightly,"

"A cyan emerald, got it," Anna nodded. "Alright, thank you for your time, Debris. You should get some rest while we investigate,"

Pickle stiffened at that, but he managed to smile and drive over to them.

"Hey, Blaze! Hey, AJ! Hey, Officer Anna!"

"Hey, Pickle!" Blaze greeted.

"Step back, Pickle, we're in the middle of an investigation," Anna told the green truck.

"Oh really?" Pickle acted oblivious as he tilted his head. "Maybe I can help! What's going on?"

"Well…"

"Come on, come on…" the being hissed as he hid deep in an alley way, trying to fix his tracker. "Why is it going haywire?! Cheska just fixed it!"

"Hello?"

The being turned to where the voice came from and immediately hopped up on building, gripping tightly the wall as he watched Crusher the alleyway. The dark blue truck, on the other hand, looked around as he drove to where the other once stood.

"Hmm…" Crusher shook his head. "Maybe… Maybe the energy wasn't real… Maybe… no, I only know one hedgehog who can wield Chaos Energy, so it's got to be him… right…?"

The being narrowed his eyes at him as he felt the other's chaos energy stretch out.

Wait, Chaos Energy?

"Huh, I didn't know beings here had… Chaos Energy…"

He held out some glowing chains before jumping down on top of the dumpster, which was behind Crusher, who jumped and turned to his direction. The dark blue truck gasped, eyes wide in shock and amazement.

"Oh… Oh Chaos… I-It's really you…"

"How… do you know me…?" The being narrowed his eyes at him, gritting his teeth as his grip on the chains tightened. "Who are you?"

"Mauglie…" Crusher hissed, trying to hold it in as he drove forward. "It… It's me… It's me, big bro…"

Mauglie looked shocked as he was taken back by the name mention and the honorific. The chains in his gloves loosened as he felt his stomach drop.

"You… You can't be… no, no, that's not possible…"

"It is!" Crusher was feeling his tears roll down his cheeks as he drove forward. "It really IS me, big bro, please, PLEASE believe me…"

"W-What proof do you have?" Mauglie growled. "To prove that you are who you say you are."

Crusher took a deep breath before reaching back to his chassis bag. He soon took out his green Chaos emerald, which glowed as bright as the cyan one in Mauglie's quills. The ebony black, blue-striped hedgehog looked shocked, a hand moving to his mouth as he gasped.

"It… It is you…"

"Yes, it is," Crusher nodded and began to sob. "I… I can't believe you're really here… big bro, I… I missed you so much…"

"Shadic…" Mauglie caused the chains to disappear before he fell to his knees and began to cry. "You… You're alive…"

Crusher took his brother into a hug, his own tears getting harder as they fell. The older returned the hug, despite the difference in forms as they both allowed themselves to grasp each other's warmth and comfort.

For years, they were separated by force and by worlds.

And now, they were reunited.

With only the rest of their family to wait for their complete reunion.

And now that Mauglie was here, Crusher had hope that they will be reunited soon.
