Crusher sighed as he, Mauglie and Pickle headed to the park after the races. Mauglie noticed his brother's frown and drove to his side.
"Hey, baby bro, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, just…" Crusher hissed. "I kinda miss speeding up as fast as you, Maug,"
Mauglie skidded to a stop. "Oh. Oh! Why didn't you say so?"
"Well, it just doesn't seem possible…" Crusher shrugged.
"It is!" Mauglie chuckled. "Come in, you two, hold onto me, we're heading somewhere more… private,"
Crusher and Pickle glanced at each other questioningly before shrugging. They held onto the ebony black truck, who took out his cyan emerald.
"Chaos Control!"
In a flash, they disappeared from the park and ended up in an empty field, far from the city. Mauglie kept his emerald before reaching down for something in his chassis bag. He took out a box and held it out to his brother.
"Here,"
"What is this…?" Crusher asked as he held the box.
"Your inhibilator rings," Mauglie replied.
"W-What?!" Crusher was taken back. "B-But how?! How do you have them?!"
"When you… died, Mom and Dad could barely stand seeing your rings, so they asked me to keep it with me, in case I needed it, even when I didn't," Mauglie gave a smile. "Besides, it… it made me feel like you were there, even when you weren't,"
Crusher opened the box to see the rings resting inside. He blinked in surprise.
"Wow, I… wow…" he glanced up at his brother. "You… You really kept them close?"
"Each of us kept something from you when you were gone," Mauglie told him. "Sauron got your hover shoes, Shelly has your gloves, Sunny has your Chili Dog plushie, and Mom and Dad… they have pictures of you carried everywhere,"
"I… wow," Crusher held the rings. "I honestly don't know what to say…"
"Say nothing," Mauglie chuckled. "Just try on the rings before we break down again,"
"Erm… the tires might deem it difficult…" Crusher motioned to his tires.
"Ah, and someone might see you shift? Alright," Mauglie took out a toolbox. "I've got ya, baby bro,"
"Where… did you get that?" Crusher asked as his brother removed his tires to fit in the rings.
"Borrowed it from Kermit," Mauglie shrugged. "You know, he and Vage have a son too. Vake, Croc-Hedge-kid-meleon,"
"Ha ha, so much for hybrids," Crusher laughed.
Mauglie joined in the laughter as he set the rings in place before placing the tires back on. Pickle blinked at the shiny rings.
"Hey, I know you've mentioned those rings before Crusher, but how exactly do they work?"
"Simple," Crusher spoke. "I have them on, so now, I'll be able to go fast and use as much Chaos Energy as I can without burning out or dying,"
"We'll take slow," Mauglie told him, straightening up. "There you go! Now, hold my hand-- er, tires, and follow my lead. Come on,"
"O-Okay…" Crusher nodded and took his tires into his own.
Mauglie grinned and started to speed up on the road, prompting Crusher to race after him. Both pairs of tires began to spin faster and faster until their surroundings were a blur.
Crusher felt free as he zoomed, the wind brushing against his face as he drove.
It's been years since he could race like this.
Since he could run like this.
Since he could dash as fast as the wind.
Or even faster.
As fast as the speed of light even.
Like the powerful life form he truly is.
"Ha ha! It's… It's working! It's really working! I'm going fast! And I'm not burning up!"
"Yeah! There ya go!" Mauglie also laughed as they zoomed and zoomed.
They soon came to a stop, they're tires skidding at the ground below them. They panted a bit before cheering.
"Yes, yes YES!" Crusher exclaimed. "I SPED LIKE THE WIND!"
"Yeah, you did!" Mauglie grinned, high-tiring with his brother. "Nice job, baby brother!"
"Oh yeah!" Crusher was beaming as he looked around. "WHERE DID WE EVEN END UP IN?!"
"Antarctica," Mauglie chuckled, glancing around at the snow and ice around them.
"WE MADE IT ACROSS THE EARTH?! THAT IS AWESOME!" Crusher beamed.
"So, you ready for the race later?" Mauglie asked with a grin.
"I am SO READY-- Oh CHAOS, we left Pickle behind!" Crusher looked around in panic before dashing off.
"Oh, Shady…" Mauglie chuckled before zooming off after him.

"Racers, start your engine!"
The racers lined up at the starting line as the light flashed red. Pickle cheered for them at the sidelines, raising his blue pom-poms with a beam. Crusher looked excited as he smirked at his rivals beside him.
"I'm SO going to win this race!" he bragged.
"On your marks!"
"You can try, Crusher," Blaze grinned.
"Get set!"
"We're BOTH gonna win, that's for sure," Mauglie smirked. "Come on, baby bro, let's show what we ROBOTNIKS can do!"
"GO!"
The brothers dashed through the race track as fast as they could. They went so fast that they were merely blurs of cobalt blue and icy blue to the watching audience as they zoomed. They reached the finish line in no time with a zoom and a skid of their tires.
"TIE!"
"AND THE WINNERS ARE CRUSHER AND MAUGLIE!" Bump announced.
"HOORAY!" Pickle cheered, zooming to them with a beam. "Great job, you two!"
"Yeah!" Blaze and AJ drove towards them. "That was amazing!"
"How did you manage to drive so quickly?!" Stripes cried out, driving towards them.
"My big brother taught me how to go… sonic fast!" Crusher giggled.
"Oh yeah!" Mauglie gave the other a noogie. "And my little bro's just the best!"
Crusher laughed as the trophy was given to them. As the others zoomed over to congratulate them, however, they failed to notice strangers spying on them from nearby…
