One fine morning, Queen Iris of the Rainbow Kingdom was taking her recently found son, Prince Crusher, out into the palace gardens, as a way to bond with her child, who had been seperated from her for so long.

"Wow, these plants sure are amazing!" Crusher cried.

"These are rainbow lillies, my dear. They produce a dazzling light show at night that's truly amazing."

"Awesome!" Crusher beamed and turned to the other plants. "What do these flowers do?!"

"Well, the red ones are fire roses, and they give a radiating glow and are very hot to the touch. And these are water lotuses. Try picking them and see what they do."

Crusher picked on the lotuses, causing them to release a burst of water towards him, causing him yelp.

"Gotcha!" Iris giggled.

"Oh wow! Ha ha!" Crusher laughed.

"Now, let me show you some animals that live in the garden. They can be shy, so we have to be careful around them, okay?"

"Okay," Crusher nodded.

Iris knelted down into the bushes and make a sort of clicking sound, calling out the most beautiful and adorable animal Crusher had ever seen-- a rainbow fox. She had fur of all different colors, and eyes as brown as mud, but they were also gentle.

"Aww, she's so cute!"

"Rainbow foxes have incredible camouflage, like chameleons, and they are sometimes chosen to be a royal's pet and advisor. Only when a pet is chosen can the owner finally hear it's voice."

As Crusher listened to what his mother said, he... suddenly felt down.

Back home, no animal would come near him.

Would it be the same here?

Or would it be different.

"Oh, my dear, is there something a matter?" Iris noticed the look on his face and frowned.

"Well... I never got along with animals back home. I mean, I did with a pig, but that was temporary. What if... none of these creatures wanna bond with me...?"

Crusher felt himself look down at the ground in shame. He should be able to connect with everyone, but... it was always so hard.

"Oh, don't worry, my dear, it takes time, but you will find a creature to bond with," Iris assured him.

"Maybe... you can show me some more animals?"

"Of course. If you'll--"

Suddenly, a small yelp was heard in the bushes, followed by small sad meows.

Crusher and his mother followed the sounds to find an adolescent white cheetah with green eyes, caught in some kind of trap.

"Woah…" Crusher gasped. "What kind of animal is this…?"

"An albino cheetah cub," Iris said softly. "And it looks as if she's scared and trapped."

"I think she is," Crusher pointed to the trap the cheetah was caught in.

"Crusher, if you can keep the little one calm, I can use a spell to get rid of the trap."

"Okay… I'll try," Crusher nodded.

He carefully knelt down beside the cheetah as his mother went from behind, and the small cub's ears flattened.

Were they going to hurt her?

Eat her for dinner?

Crusher saw the cheetah's unease, so he reached his hand out toward her. "It's okay, girl. We won't hurt you."

The small cat suddenly sniffed something.

These two were of the royal blood!

That fact calmed her down a bit as she stared up at Crusher, who smiled.

"That's it... there we go. Mom, you can get rid of the trap now. I think she's calm enough."

"Alright,"

Iris nodded and twirled her hands around. She casted her spell on the trap, causing it to fade into bubbles, freeing the small cat.

"There you go, little one," Iris said. "You're safe."

"Now you can go on back to your family," Crusher smiled.

But... at the mention of her family, the cub's head lowered as she sniffled.

"What's wrong, little one?" Iris asked.

"I... don't think she has a family..." Crusher realized. "Is that it?"

The small cat nodded with a whimper.

"I know how that is," Crusher told her gently, "when you have no family in the world. I used to think I was that way too. So... Mom, can we keep her? Please? She'd feel a lot safer with us."

"I think that's a wonderful idea!" Iris smiled and nodded.

"What do you think, little cheetah? Wanna come home with me?" Crusher glanced down at the little cheetah cub.

As the cheetah's green eyes sparkled and her tail swished, suddenly, a voice spoke from within her. "I'd really like that."

Crusher was taken back in surprise.

"She... she spoke! Does... does this mean...?"

"Yes, my dear, she is your chosen pet!" Iris clapped happily. "Congratulations!"

"I can't believe it! I found my own pet!" Crusher beamed. "So... what's your name, little cheetah?"

"Hazara," the cheetah responded happily.

"Hazara… that's a beautiful name," Crusher smiled and held his hands towards her. "Well, don't worry, Hazara-- I'm gonna take great care of you."

Hazara's eyes lit up before she pounced into his arms. Crusher chuckled and carried her gently as she purred.

"Come on... let's go home."

With that, they headed towards the palace, carrying the little cheetah cub with them.
