The Battle of Berk
The dragon riders, plus Stoic and Gobber, flew as fast as they could back to Berk. They seemed calm on the outside, but on the inside, they were panicking. They have just learned that the very thing that they were preventing the Decepticons from getting is on their home.
"I can't believe this!" Snotloud exclaimed. "How is it that a machine from another planet ended up in our home?!"
"That doesn't matter now!" Hiccup said. "What matters is that we have to get to it before the Decepticons do!"
"Hiccup's right! The sooner we get to Berk, the sooner we can prepare for the upcoming battle!" Stoic said.
"I still don't get it; how could a Space Bridge be on our island without us even knowing?" Astrid asked.
"The Autobots said that their war has been going on for thousands of years." Fishlegs answered. "It must have landed on Berk long before the Hairy Hooligans occupied it."
"That must have really been a really long time. The Hairy Hooligans have been on Berk for generations." Gobber said.
"I just hope we can remain on Berk permanently, knowing what the Decepticons have in store for us." Astrid said.
"If those creeps try and mess with us, then we'll just blow them sky high." Tuffnut said with excitement.
"There's Berk right there!" Snotloud pointed as they were nearing their island.
Everyone landed on the island and were greeted by the rest of the people of Berk. They greeted them with questions about where they were and what was so important that the chief had to leave the island.
"Everyone please listen!" Stoic called out. "I want you all to gather as many weapons as you can! Prepare the catapults gather all of the ones who aren't battle ready barricade themselves in the Great Hall!"
"Stoic what's going on?" Spiteloud asked. "You're acting as if you're preparing for war."
"That's because we are." Everyone became afraid and concerned when their chief said that. "I can't really explain it, so it is best to let our new allies explain it."
"What new allies?" Mulch asked.
Stoic turned to Hiccup. "Go ahead son."
Hiccup nodded and took out a metallic device out of his pocket. He was about to do something until Ruffnut took the device out of his hand and started messing with it.
"So what are we supposed to do with this thing?" Ruffnut asked.
Tuffnut took it and started inspecting it. "Let me try. There's always a trick when it comes to these things." Tuffnut couldn't get it to work so he started banging it on the wall of a house.
"Oh jeez, why didn't I think of that?" Ruffnut said sarcastically.
"Give me that!" Hiccup said as he took the device. "Alright everyone stand back." Everyone was confused but they did as was told.
Hiccup then pressed a button on the device and soon a swirling green vortex appeared in front of everyone. All of the residents of Berk were surprised, but what happened next was what really shocked them. All of the Autobots walked out of the portal and stood in place, looking around the area and looking towards the people.
"What in the name of Odin are those things!"
"Are they demons?!"
"What do they want with us?!"
Spiteloud looked towards Stoic. "You have some explaining to do Stoic!"
Stoic sighed, knowing that this was the reaction he was expecting. "Everyone please remain calm! We will explain everything to you right now." Stoic turned to Hiccup. "Hiccup, you and the other dragon riders see if you can find this Space Bridge."
"We're on it, dad." Hiccup said.
The dragon riders hopped on to their dragons and took off. Bumblebee, Arcee, Smokescreen, Bulkhead, Ratchet, and Wheeljack transformed into their vehicle modes and drove off into the forest with the riders following them. The villagers were surprised by this, but they turned their attention to Stoic, Optimus, and Ultra Magnus started explaining the situation to them.
The riders followed the Autobots as they drove through the forest while trying to track down the location of the Space Bridge. They continued their path until the Autobots stopped and transformed.
The riders landed and got off their dragons. "Why are we stopping?" Snotloud asked.
Ratchet held a device and looked at it as it beeped. "Because the Space Bridge is really close." He started walking with everyone else following him.
"You know something just occurred to me." Fishlegs said before everyone turned their attention to him. "What are we supposed to do once we find the Space Bridge?"
"I say we get it the heck off our island." Snotloud suggested. "I mean, once it's gone maybe the Decepticons would leave us alone."
"Impossible, the Space Bridge is too large." Arcee said. "We don't have the equipment to move something that big."
"In that case, we keep the Decepticons from getting their hands on it." Bulkhead said as he punched his fist to his palm.
"And hopefully we can use it for a later date to go back home." Ratchet said.
They continued walking until they abruptly stopped due to the fact that one of Berk's mountains were in the way.
"Are you sure that thing is working, cause all I see is a mountain." Tuffnut said.
"Yeah, what's the deal?" Ruffnut asked.
"It is working, and according to this the Space Bridge is buried deep within the base of this mountain." Ratchet said.
"Well, I guess we better start digging." Wheeljack joked.
"Wait, if it's buried then that's a good thing, right?" Astrid said. "It means that it's safe from the Decepticons and they can't get to it."
Bumblebee gave a few beeps in response and Hiccup translated. "He said that it doesn't matter how deep it is buried. They'll tear this island apart until they get their hands on it."
Everyone began to think what their next move should be, but they soon noticed that all of their dragons began to tilt their heads up and were staring at something in the distance. They were then startled when they began to growl.
"Woah, what is it bud?" Hiccup asked in concern.
Astrid patted Stormfly, but then she heard something. "Guys do you hear that?"
Everyone then began to listen and they could soon hear a faint sound in the distance. It seemed somewhat familiar to the dragon riders, but it was all too familiar to the Autobots.
"We have to get back to the village now!" Smokescreen exclaimed.
Back at the village, everyone else began to hear the exact same noise and were wondering what it was. They looked around up in the sky, but they couldn't find it. Spiteloud soon noticed something heading right towards them fast.
"Hey Stoic, what's that?" Spiteloud asked as he pointed to something in the sky.
Stoic looked to where he pointed and saw that there was something heading towards them, but he can't make out what it was. Optimus and Ultra Magnus zoomed in with their optics and were able to identify what it was. It wasn't long until the rest of the Autobots and dragon riders arrived.
"It's Starscream!" Bulkhead said as he and the others transformed.
"We have to take cover now!" Arcee said.
"Incoming!" Smokescreen said.
Pretty soon Starscream flew down close and fired his missiles at them and caused an explosion that knocked everyone back. Hiccup and the gang slowly got up trying to get the ringing in their ears. Stoic got up and checked to make sure everyone was okay.
"Astrid are you okay?" Hiccup said as he checked on Astrid.
"I'm okay." Astrid answered as she got up.
Spiteloud stomped up to Stoic. "What in Odin's name was that Stoic?! You never said that these 'Decepticons' could do that!"
Stoic looked around and saw the destruction that was caused by that one Decepticon. A few houses were destroyed, but thankfully they were all abandoned. He saw that his people wouldn't stand a chance against these demons.
"Get everyone in the Great Hall and barricade the doors!" Stoic yelled as Spiteloud and all of the Vikings ran towards the Great Hall. Stoic turned to his son as he got on Toothless. "Be careful Hiccup. This isn't anything that we have faced before."
"Don't worry dad, we'll be okay." Hiccup assured.
Starscream flew back up into the clouds where the Nemesis ship was hovering. He flew up until he transformed and landed on top of the flight deck where Megatron was waiting.
"I have given the first strike master." Starscream said.
"Excellent Starscream. It is time that these humans have a taste of what the full might of their new masters will be like." Megatron turned and address the legion of Vehicons behind him. "Decepticons! Begin our assault!"
The Vehicons all transformed into their jet modes and flew down towards Berk.
Hiccup and the other dragon riders were on top of their dragons and looked to see the legion of Vehicons flying above their island.
"Well, I'd say Berk had a good run and we should all get the heck out of here!" Snotloud said in fear.
"We're not abandoning our home Snotloud!" Astrid said with determination.
"I hate to say it, but Snotloud may have point! Our weapons are useless and our dragons only have a limited supply of flame!" Fishlegs said.
"I may have something." Wheeljack said as he brought a large case to them. He opened it to reveal eight rifle weapons fit for the humans. "I measured your guy's size and made these Energon rifles for you. All you have to do is point and press the button on the side." Wheeljack said.
(AN: I don't usually do these things, but just to let you guys know the weapons that Wheeljack is giving them is the ones that Cade Yaegar uses in Age of Extinction.)
Everyone, including Stoic and Gobber, picked up the rifles and inspected them. "Impressive work." Stoic said.
"Yep, me and Wheeljack thought of it in order to put the hurt on those Decepticreeps." Gobber said with pride.
Before anyone can comment on them, a house was blasted by a purple energy blast. Everyone ducked down to avoid getting hit by the shrapnel and looked up to see Shockwave walking towards them while still firing at them with his arm cannon.
"Who is that?!" Ruffnut asked.
"Shockwave." Arcee growled.
Shockwave transformed into his tank form and continued firing while the Autobots returned fire and tried to take him down.
"I got him!" Smokescreen yelled as he ran towards Shockwave then transformed into his vehicle mode. He sped right towards Shockwave then transformed into robot mode and landed right on top of Shockwave. "Come on Decepticon punk!" Smokescreen shouted as he started firing at Shockwave.
Shockwave transformed into his robot form and grabbed Smokescreen then tossed him aside. Arcee and Bumblebee came in and started firing at close range while Shockwave tried to attack them. Wheeljack ran up and drew his twin swords and started slashing the one-eyed scientist while he used his cannon arm for defense.
The others were about to help, but they had to take cover from a few Vehicons that transformed and started firing. The rest of the Autobots returned fire while the Vikings and their dragons took cover.
"How do you work this thing again?!" Tuffnut asked as he tried to work his blaster. He pressed a button and soon an Energon shot hit one of the Vehicons and blew its head off. "That is awesome!"
Hiccup saw what Tuffnut did and followed his lead. Pretty soon everyone started firing their weapons while their dragons blew fire at the Decepticons.
"Okay guys, let's take them down!" Hiccup ordered as he flew Toothless up. "Plasma Blast bud!" Toothless acknowledged and fired multiple times, taking down quite a few jet mode Vehicons.
The others hopped on their dragons and started firing at the Decepticons with both their weapons and dragons. Stoic and Gobber stayed on the ground and continued firing. Ultra Magnus and Optimus joined them as they quickly dispatched many Vehicons as well as provide covering fire.
Optimus continued firing, until he was all of a sudden tackled by Lugnut in his bulky jet mode and pushed him pretty far. Optimus got up as Lugnut transformed and landed in front of him.
"You will not stand in the way of our glorious leaders plan Prime." Lugnut challenged.
"Your leader intends to destroy an entire planet the same way he destroyed Cybertron." Optimus retorted. "This I cannot allow."
"They should feel honoured." Lugnut countered. "Their sacrifice is for the glory of the Decepticon empire."
"Not while I still stand Lugnut." Optimus branded one of his blades and charged at Lugnut.
Lugnut raised both his arms and protected himself from the blade. He then began to try and punch Optimus, but the Autobot leader continued to dodge each attack and then deliver one of his own. Optimus jumped up and delivered a powerful hit to Lugnut's face.
Optimus was about to hit him again, but Lugnut grabbed his arm and tossed him into a wooden house. Before Optimus could get back up, Lugnut grabbed Optimus by the back of his head.
"You are unworthy to even stand in the presence of our great and magnificent-GAH!" Lugnut couldn't finish what he was about to say due to Optimus slamming a wooden piller from the broken house to his face.
Optimus turned around and delivered a powerful punch to the face knocking the Decepticon down. The fight would have continued, but Optimus had to move out of the way from another barrage of lasers from the Vehicons in the sky.
Ratchet and Bulkhead weren't having it any easier. Bulkhead, with his maces, and Ratchet, with his blades, continued to take down more and more Decepticons that came near them.
"Reminds you of the glory days, eh Ratchet?" Bulkhead joked.
"Only you can find something to joke about the 'glory days' Bulkhead." Ratchet responded.
"Do you know what reminds me of the glory days?"
Both Autobots looked behind them and they saw Blitzwing standing on top of a burnt down building. His face was in his Icy mode until it changed into his Hothead mode. "Ripping out the sparks of Autobot scums!"
Blitzwing sent a stream of flames at the two Autobots, but they managed to dodge it. Blitzwing transformed into his tank mode and fired at them. They took cover behind a few boulders and Bulkhead fired at him, but so far nothing seemed to be working.
Blitzwing continued to fire at them, but then he started to noticed that the area he was at was being coated in green gas. He transformed into his robot mode with his Unpredictable face. "I've heard of passing gas, but this is ridiculous."
"Hey, up here!" Blitzwing looked up to see Ruff and Tuff on their dragon waving casually at him. "Hello!" Ruffnut called.
"And goodbye!" Tuffnut finished as Belch lit the spark to cause the gas to combust.
There was a huge explosion and Blitzwing was sent flying, and not in a good jet way. Ruff and Tuff gave each other a fist bump and flew right back into the fray.
Bulkhead gave them a thumbs up. "Nice work you two!"
Snotloud and Hookfang flew right into the fray of the aerial battle. Snotloud continued firing at any Decepticon that was in his sight, sending them crashing down. Whenever Hookfang got close to a jet he would use his claws to latch on to it and then rip it to shreds.
"Snotloud! Snotloud! Oi! Oi! Oi!" Snotloud cheered as he shot down another one.
Astrid flew up high above and had Stormfly shoot down any Decepticon that got too close with either her flames or her spines. She looked behind her and saw a few Vehicons flying behind her and catching up. She shot down two of them, but the third was maneuvering too much. Before it could fire upon her, it was destroyed by a plasma blast from Toothless and Hiccup.
"You okay?" Hiccup asked in concern.
"Yeah." Astrid reassured. "Hiccup there's too many of them. How are we supposed to survive this?"
"We just have to last as long as we can until we can come up with a full proof plan." Hiccup answered.
"Um...Hiccup...that may be more of a problem then we thought." Fishlegs said as he nervously pointed up.
Everyone, from dragon rider, dragon, and Autobot looked up to see the Nemesis slowly lowered itself until it was hovering over Berk.
"Oh...my...Thor." Fishlegs breathed out.
Stoic looked up and was stunned by the monstrosity hovering over his island. It easily outmatched the Red Death in comparison to size. "Odin help us."
Megatron looked down as his ship hovered closer to the mountain that the Space Bridge was buried in. "Soundwave, prepare the extraction."
Inside the bridge, Soundwave connected his tentacles onto the main console. Pretty soon both sides of the ship sprouted large cables that began to attach themselves into the ground below.
"Uh, what is that thing doing?" Snotloud asked fearfully.
Hiccup looked down and saw that those large tentacles began digging up the dirt, tearing down the trees, and ripping the rocks off of the base of the mountain. "Their trying to dig out the Space Bridge!"
"Once they have that, it's game over!" Fishlegs said worryingly.
"Then we just have to make sure they don't get it!" Astrid declared.
"She's right! Everyone aim for those tentacles!" Hiccup ordered.
All of the dragon riders flew close to the tentacles and their dragons started laying down the fire power. Plasma blasts and flame breaths bombarded the tentacles, but nothing seemed to work.
"Our attacks aren't working Hiccup!" Astrid said.
"It must have a chink in its armor somewhere! Just keep blasting!" Hiccup exclaimed.
Megatron looked down and growled in annoyance when he saw the organics trying to destroy the cables. He ran off of the flight deck and transformed into his jet mode. He flew straight down and started shooting at the dragon riders.
"Woah!" Snotloud and Hookfang flew out of the way and tried to get out of the way of fire.
Megatron circled around and began to fire at them again, which they maneuvered out of the way again, but that was much closer than last time.
"What's this guy's problem?!" Ruffnut asked.
Fishlegs looked through a spyglass that Hiccup gave him and looked through it. "This one seems different guys. I think that might be Megatron himself."
"If that is him then this just became a lot more complicated." Hiccup said as he looked through his own spyglass. "Alright, me and Toothless will draw him away."
"What? How come you get to have all the fun?" Tuffnut complained.
"This isn't about having fun. I'll draw him away so you guys can continue trying to destroy these cables. Remember, if the Decepticons get their hands on that Space Bridge then it's game over." Hiccup flew off away from the cables and patted Toothless on the head. "Let's see if we can get his attention bud."
Toothless fired a couple of plasma blasts at Megatron which did indeed get his attention. Toothless flew at top speed, but Megatron was able to keep up, in fact, he was starting to gain on them. Toothless fired a few more blast at him, but the Decepticon leader was able to avoid each of them.
"Such spirit." Megatron said amusedly.
Megatron fired at them in return and one blast managed to knick Toothless on the side, sending them out of the sky.
"TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup exclaimed as he and Toothless rapidly descended towards the ground.
During the fight with Shockwave Bumble went to deliver a punch towards the one-eyed scientist, but the fist was caught and he was tossed to the side. He was about to continue his assault, but the he heard Hiccup yell and his optics grew wide when he saw him about to fall to his death.
The fight with Shockwave forgotten, he transformed into his vehicle mode and sped off to where they were about to hit. As soon as he was close enough, he transformed again, jumped up, and caught them in midair before they could hit. He landed on his back and held them close to make sure they would be okay.
Bumblebee gently placed them on the ground gently with Hiccup giving a grateful nod. "Thanks, Bee." Hiccup looked at Toothless who was lying on the ground. "Toothless!" Hiccup ran up to his friend and was glad to see that it wasn't anything serious. Toothless gave a soft purr when Hiccup patted him on the head, but then gave a growl when he saw something flying towards them.
Megatron transformed and landed close to them. "It has been a while, scout. I may have made the mistake of not finishing you off when I ripped out you voice box, but rest assured, I will never make that mistake again." Megatron growled out. Bumble narrowed his eyes at the warlord and got in front of his friends in protective stance.
The heated stare down between the two lasted for a few more seconds before Bumblebee began the assault. He fired his Energon blasters at Megatron, but they hardly did any damage. Bumblebee jumped up and went for a punch, but that didn't do any good when Megatron grabbed him by the chest and tossed him to the side.
Bumblebee got up, but had to transform in order to avoid the blasts from Megatron's cannon. Megatron continue to fire, but then he felt a sharp pain on his back and turned around to see Hiccup firing at him with his Energon rifle.
"Remember us!" Hiccup shouted as he kept firing. Toothless also fired a few plasma blasts, and did at least some damage, but not enough to actually hurt him.
Megatron growled at them and was about to fire at them, but Bumblebee jumped onto his back and began to deliver a few punches to his face. Megatron reached back and tossed Bumblebee off of him, which nearly caused him to crash into Hiccup. Hiccup covered his eyes from the dust that blew up, but Megatron fired close to him which sent him flying and crashing into Toothless.
Hiccup and Toothless slowly got up, but Toothless stood protectively in front of Hiccup when Megatron stepped forward. "For a couple of insects, you have grown to be somewhat amusing. However, this where the amusement ends." Megatron was about to finish them off, but stopped when he heard an engine noise behind them.
Megatron looked behind him and saw Optimus in his vehicle mode drove up to them, then transformed and got into a battle-ready stance. "Megatron."
"Prime." Megatron snarled.
"Your conflict is with me. Leave the humans and their dragons out of this." Optimus said as he got his swords ready. Megatron doing the same with his wrist blade.
Shockwave continued to fire at the Autobots while they took cover behind some rubble. Arcee and Smokescreen quickly returned fired, but their attacks were hardly doing any damage.
"This isn't going well!" Smokescreen shouted.
"I can see that!" Arcee responded.
Shockwave continued to fire, but he then felt more hits being felt upon him on the sides and saw that it was Stoic and Gobber shooting him. Shockwave returned fire and knocked both down. They tried to get back up and saw Shockwave walking towards them and was about to fire.
"Your attempt to defy us is most illogical." Shockwave stated coldly.
Stoic glared at him. "It's a good thing we vikings don't use logic!" Thinking quickly Stoic reached behind his back and tossed his axe right at Shockwave's eye.
The axe impacted square into Shockwave's eye, causing to scream in pain. Seeing their opportunity, Arcee and Smokescreen charged right at him and sent of a barrage of lasers at him. Shockwave didn't have time to defend himself as he was being pelted with Energon blasts. Arcee ran up to him, jumped up, and delivered a nasty kick right to his head.
Shockwave could not balance himself and fell off the edge of the island. Everyone looked down to see him falling to the sea and patiently waited for him to come back up.
But he never rose back up.
Stoic looked down and saw his axe lying down on the ground. He picked it up and gave slight smile. "Your blasters were very useful, but I'll take a good axe any day."
Smokescreen gave a slight chuckle before he noticed Arcee still stared into the water. "You think he's gone?"
"Hard to say." Arcee answered. "He has survived far worse."
Gobber looked down and surveyed the area. "Ah, there's nothing down there but rocks and water. I'd be more surprised if he did survive."
Arcee continued to look down. She still couldn't help but doubt whether or not Shockwave did perish.
The dragon riders continued to blast one of the cables, but so far nothing seemed to be working. However, that changed when the cable was finally destroyed.
"Alright!" Tuffnut cheered.
"We so rock!" Ruffnut yelled out as she fist bumped with her brother.
"Take that you Decepticreeps!" Snotloud cheered.
Fishlegs looked down and gained a look of despair. "Um...guys."
Everyone looked down and saw that the rest of the cables have successfully dug up the Space Bridge. The hooks of the cables grasped onto the Space Bridge and began to lift it up out of the ground. The riders gasped when they saw the ringed Space Bridge and how large it was. They could hardly believe that that thing was beneath their island the whole time.
Seeing that their task was complete, Starscream made a call to Megatron. "Lord Megatron, we have successfully retrieved the Space Bridge."
Megatron smiled sinisterly when he received the news. "It seems that our fateful battle will have to be put on hold Optimus. I have much bigger goals to achieve." Megatron transformed and flew back up to the Nemesis.
Optimus looked on in dread when they saw the Nemesis fly off with the Space Bridge in tow.
"Optimus," Hiccup said when he, Toothless, and Bumblebee walked up next to him. "What do we do now?"
Optimus looked down in concentration, until he looked towards the warship with determination. "This isn't over."

The Decepticons have the Spacebridge, but the Autobots haven't given up yet.
Tune in next time to see the conclusion of the beginning arc of this story and after that I'll do a couple original chapters. After the original chapters are done, I'll finally get into the Race to the Edge story, which, I'm gonna tell ya, it's going to be awesome!
