Beejay waited for him in his room.
"Yes, Father?"
"Come, we must begin training you if you are destined to defeat those pesky sisters," Beejay spoke.
"Okay, but... what other powers am I supposed to have?" Crusher asked.
"Other than ressurection and inventing, along with vampire abilities, I am not sure," Beejay admitted. "But that's what we're going to learn as we train, ready?"
"I guess so..."
"Good!" Beejay smiled.
"So... what do I need to do first?"
"Let's test out the skills you already know," Beejay set down a dead rabbit on the floor, bloodless.
"Well... I guess I can give this a try..."
Crusher took a deep breath and waved his tires around towards the dead rabbit, magic sparking out. The sparks went to the dead rabbit, again and again until the electricity managed to course through it. It soon turned back to life, blood coming back to it as it bounced up.
"Wow... I haven't done that in ages!" Crusher beamed.
"Good job, son!" Beejay patted his head.
"Thanks. So, what now?"
"We practice your other skills," Beejay grinned. "I heard you were good with inventing…?"
"The best in Axle City! Watch this!"
Crusher's lightning mark glowed as a magic light came. Immediately, a robot appeared in front of them, made by scraps but still functional.
"I say! That is impressive!" Beejay grinned and nodded.
"Thanks, Dad," Crusher smiled.
Meanwhile, Xander was leading Blaze and the group of pegasus fillies through the sky.
"Whoo-hoo!!" Blaze whooped.
"Blaze, this is amazing!" AJ smiled.
"Whoa, but tricky!" Skydance yelped as she struggled.
"I gotcha!" Quizon helped his friend.
"Wa-hoo!" Blaze laughed and helped the Pegasus children a bit.
"Now, let's fly higher, to the moon's light," Xander suggested. "Over the clouds,"
"Okay! Race you!" Camille shouted.
"It's on!"
Xander watched as they took off. He hummed. "Should I explain the altitude is different up there…? Nah, they'll figure it out soon,"
He flew after them, holding his breath for a bit before gasping to the new air above them. Thankfully, him being dead means he didn't need oxygen when it lacks.
"Ugh... it's getting hard to breathe..." Moonbeam panted.
"Altitude... might be the reason..." AJ struggled as well.
"Well, you all figured it out?" Xander sighed. "Come on, back down, below the clouds. Let's do this more properly,"
The others nodded and followed him down.
"So... how can we fly higher than the clouds if we can't breathe well up there?" AJ asked, able to take a breath.
"Hold in all the oxygen you need, but if that doesn't work," Xander held out breathers. "Old school breathers, like the ones in planes,"
"Thanks," Blaze said. "Let's try this again, team."
They took the breathers and went up, up above the clouds. They took it slow and gasped for air as they were met with the moon's light.
"Wow... it's so beautiful up here!"
"Yep, it never gets old," Xander laughed, flying over to their side.
He flapped through the clouds, swirling over and around it, showing off some tricks.
"Wow... that is amazing!" Camille said. "But we need to get better at flying before we do that."
"I never thought that discovering Crusher is a vampire would lead us on such an amazing adventure," Blaze admitted. "But, look at us now-- foal and filly friends, some of us having magic powers, new friends? Who could ask for anything more?"
"Haha, yes, it's amazing how one adventure could lead to a whole new discovery," Xander laughed.
"Should we keep on flying?" AJ wondered.
Camille yawned, her flapping slowing down as she leaned against Moonbeam tiringly.
"The foals are getting tired. Maybe we should head back and settle them into bed. And Xander, maybe you can show me how I can turn back to normal?" Blaze wondered.
"That sounds good to me. Follow me."
Xander led them down towards the ground. He landed on the ground with a thud, as did Blaze, whose landing wasn't as wobbly as the first.
"Aha! I'm getting better at landing!" Blaze beamed.
"Indeed-- well done, Blaze. Now, time for your transforming back lesson." Xander kept his wings. "Concentrate on your original form and let yourself shift,"
"Okay... here goes..."
Blaze took a deep breath and shifted his form. They gasped as he glowed bright before returning to his truck form.
"Wow, I think I could get used to this!"
"Let's get you foals and fillies to sleep," AJ said, carrying Ashley. "We have a long day tomorrow."
"Go on ahead, I will patrol the place for the night," Xander told them.
"Good idea, thanks. Come on, guys." Blaze urged.
"Night, Mr. Xander!" Skydance chirped.
"Goodnight," Xander smiled and watched them drive off.
He turned into a bat and flew to Beejay's room, where the king was teaching Crusher how to fly without wings.
"GAH!" Crusher yelped, tipping out of balance as they levitated.
"I have you son," Beejay smiled, helping keep Crusher in balance.
"Th-Thanks…" Crusher hissed.
"Ah, so you're practicing self-flying," Xander detransformed and floated. "It's not so hard,"
"Did your dad teach you how to do this too?" Crusher asked.
"Nah, I picked it up while helping this idiot to float," Xander made his way over to Beejay, who laughed. "Your grandfather did a terrible job teaching him how to fly without wings,"
"Oh..."
"Okay, let's try it one more time." Beejay encouraged.
"Why don't you throw him off a cliff?" Xander suggested.
"NO! THAT'S HOW FATHER TAUGHT ME- wait," Beejay turned to him. "Did you teach him how to fly by THROWING HIM OFF A CLIFF?!?"
"He kinda did, but it worked," Crusher nodded. "Okay... here goes nothing..."
Crusher took off again, maintaining balance for a moment before tipping over.
"Whoa!! Come on, Crusher... you can do this..."
So, he flipped himself back over, floated to the wall, and then to the other wall perfectly.
"Ha ha!! I'm doing it!"
"Ah, he's a natural!" Xander laughed and floated with them.
"With this power, Mika and Ara will never get their tires on us!" Crusher cheered.
"Woah, woah, never underestimate their power," Beejay told him. "We're still a long way from completing your training,"
"Right, right... so what's next?" Crusher wondered.
"Maybe pause training to join me on my night guard flight?" Xander suggested.
"That sounds cool! I'm in!" Crusher beamed.
The trio turned into bats and flew off on their night flight. They went through the skies, heading over the clouds and about.
"Dad... did it ever bother you that mortals are afraid of you just because of how you look and act?" Crusher asked.
"Yes… it did bother me," Beejay admitted.
"I... I'm really worried that's how the people of Axle City will treat me when I go back," Crusher sighed.
"Well… I'm sure your friends will be there to help," Beejay smiled.
"Yeah... they're like... the brothers and sisters I never had. But, Pickle... he's different. More like a boyfriend to me. They're all my family too. And I was worried if you found out about them, you would kill them."
"Well, if he hurts you, I just might," Beejay laughed. "Jokes aside, no. Mortals… Not all mortals are cruel, even I admit that,"
"Well... that is true," Crusher sighed. "I just hope Mika and Ara don't hurt them."
"We'll help you protect them, son," Beejay smiled. "I promise."
"Really?"
"Of course. Any friends/family to you are friends and family to us."
Xander watched as the duo talked out. He then looked forward before his eyes widened as he skidded to a stop.
"We're not in Transylvania anymore,"
"W-We're not? Then... where are we?" Crusher asked, looking around at the unfamiliar trees.
"The dark forests of Folks, Washington." Xander hissed.
"This is… Mika and Ara's kingdom…" Beejay snarled.
As they turned to flee, crying from below caught their attention.
"Huh? What's that?" Crusher asked.
They flew down to find a filly and a goal, one a white pegasus with light cyan and pink hair and mane with small cyan spots on her legs and cyan blue eyes while the other was a forest green unicorn with vine-like mane and tail while his eyes gleamed in gold. Both were bleeding and in chains as they whimpered on the ground.
"Another pegasus and unicorn!" Crusher gasped. "And they look even worse than the other ones did!"
"Come on, we have to help them!" Xander swooped down.
Beejay and Crusher followed after him as they detransformed from there bat forms as soon as they hit the ground.
"Hi there," Crusher smiled gently.
"S-S-Stay back!" the green unicorn snorted, pawing at the ground with his hoof. "Leave us alone!"
"It's okay, we won't hurt you," Xander assured them.
"That's what the last vampires who we were around said!" the unicorn snarled as the pegasus ran and hid behind a tree.
"Last vampires? Were they two sisters?" Beejay asked.
"How did you know?" the unicorn eyed them suspiciously.
"They're the ones we've been trying to defeat," Crusher explained. "If you and your friend come with us, we can help you."
"One, she's my adoptive sister," the unicorn huffed. "Second... how do we know this isn't a trick?"
"Would we really try and help you if we were tricking you?" asked Xander with a raised eyebrow.
The unicorn seemed to think about it, and after a moment of thinking, he sighed.
"I guess not. Who... are you anyway?"
"I am Crusher, and this is my Papa Xander," Crusher motioned to Xander before turning to Beejay. "And this is my Dad,"
"What's your name, little one?" Beejay asked.
"Parker…" the unicorn muttered.
"It's nice to meet you, Parker. What's your sister's name?"
"Starcatcher," Parker replied.
Crusher looked over at Starcatcher and attempted to approach her, but Starcatcher just hunkered down, hooves over her head.
"She's really shy," Parker explained. "She was... abused way worse than me, and doesn't let anyone touch her beside me since she... she was abused and molested by Mika and Ara."
Crusher turned green. Xander looked horrified was Beejay looked like he was close to murdering someone.
"After they killed our moms to take us as slaves, they took us into a dungeon and every night, they would do their worst-- they whipped us repeatedly, like a plaything. But... what I found out was that when the two of us were seperated each night, they would torment her in ways that were unimaginable."
Parker looked back at the pegasus, who had went to sleep in front of the trees.
"Ever since, she's been afraid of connecting with other people besides me. We tried to escape tonight, but Ara lost her temper and chained us out here to die."
Crusher looked horrified and enraged. "How could they even…?!"
"Even… the Vampire King wasn't THAT much to his slaves." Xander hissed.
"We'd love to make friends our age, but we're scared that Mika and Ara will come after us," Parker said before moving closer to Crusher. "And I'd like someone to help Starcatcher with her... trust issues."
"I think I have someone in mind," Crusher hummed, thinking of Blaze immediately. "But let's get you both outta here first."
He headed to the chains and tried to pull it free but failed. "Dad, any ideas of how we can free them?"
Beejay closed his eyes with a hiss. He then opened them, eyes gleaming gold. In an instant, the chains broke.
"Whoa! We're free! Hurry, let's go!" Parker cheered.
"Can you go get your sister? She might not trust us if we pick her up," Xander wondered.
"Okay."
Crusher smiled as Parker went over to wake his sister. "Starcatcher, wake up! We're gonna get to leave this dump!"
"H-Huh?" Starcatcher peeped out. "H-How...? What...?"
"Those vampires set us free, sis! And they're gonna take us to their kingdom!"
"Wh-What?! No!" Starcatcher hugged herself. "Not again!!"
"No no no no no no, it's okay," Parker reassured, rubbing a hoof on her back. "They're friends. We'll be safe there. I promise."
Starcatcher looked doubtful but trusted her brother. "Okay... but let's go before those mean sisters come back and finish us off."
"Good idea," Crusher nodded. "I don't wanna know the penalty for being in another vampire's kingdom."
Beejay snorted. As the leader of all vampires, he could actually trespass if he wanted to, but no way was he saying that as the filly and foal made their way to them.
"All right, everyone, let's go!"
The trio had their wings appear from their backs before they carried the filly and foal and took off to the skies.
