![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. I guess it's about time I updated this profile, and offer you an official welcome to my author profile. :) Now, by no means am I a true author. While I do write original work in my spare time, and I hope to one day be published, I wouldn't dream of considering myself a good writer. I have far too many flaws in my style and whatnot to truly be considered good quality. But I do try. And oftentimes I turn to writing FanFiction, when my own original works seem to bore me. Messing around with others' characters can sometimes be too fun to resist, as I'm sure many of you would agree. After all, you're here aren't you? I have great love for all things Harry Potter, and I feel like it should be mentioned that I am also a huge H/Hr shipper. And I'll share my little philosophy on the subject with you. Now, I've taken notice of something. While my opinion might not be fact, it's been based off my own personal experiences with my friends and the people around me. One reason I think I'm an H/Hr shipper was because I started reading the books when I was six years old. The basis of a Ron/Hermione relationship is that opposites attract, and the idea that if a boy picks on a girl, that must mean he likes her for some reason. Well, as a six-year old, I didn't understand that concept. I was a romantic at heart even then, and so I automatically assumed that the hero would end up with the nearest girl he cared about. So, from the age of six on, I was convinced that Harry and Hermione would end up together. The people I know who ship Ron and Hermione started reading the books at an older age, when they would probably understand the concepts of "opposites attract" better. I also think that it should be pertinent to know that I saw the first movie before I'd even finished the first book. So, in that sense, I also saw the first movie (which, let's be honest, Harry and Hermione just were so adorable in it) before I read the books. I also think it should be a good idea to tell you how I got into Harry Potter in the first place. You see, when I was a young lass, in primary gradeschool, in first grade, I had this academic rival. His name was Bobby. Bobby and I hated each other. We were both at the top of our class, and the teacher favored him over me (count the number of recesses she made me miss and you'll see what I mean), and my mother hated his mother, because his mother loved to gloat about him. Well, we were both selected for the "excel program", which in my state/township is considered like an honors class for kids. We were both sent to another school in the township where they actually had teachers who taught it. So, we were in second grade together too. And guess what he was reading on the first day of class? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I think my eyes bulged when I saw the sheer size of it. His mother, every chance she got, loved to tell my mom how advanced Bobby was, reading Harry Potter. She kept going on and on and on about how wonderful he was for even trying to read it. Guess what my mom got me three days later, without my asking for it. And I've been hooked ever since. I also enjoy Game ofThrones, Song of the Lioness, Warriors, and of course, The Chronicles of Narnia. I watch The Vampire Diaries, and I've also loved Smallville and The Secret Circle. (I'm personally a Delena fan, but please don't judge! I like to be at peace with all ships.) |
