Episode 6: New Donk
The train was traveling at full speed, it was a black colored one that was destined to be a cargo for vehicles, so Mario and Kunoichi were able to fully appreciate the landscape, with the two Links still unconscious and both resting at one side, the robotic shinobi said something to her ally
-Where are we going?
-For reinforcements, on New Donk there should be a lot of them, hopefully we can also find someone that can help you.
-If there is someone, at least.
Little they would know that coming from their allies, a purple aura would appear, both woke, stood up and then, the cartoon kicked the plumber from behind while the adult and the ginoid clashed swords
-What? - She analyzed –The hero of Hyrule, attacking us?
Mario recovered and avoided the sword slash coming from Toon Link, then went on guard –Something happened to them on the laboratory, for sure.
-Then it's time to set them free.
"Regular Tag Battle: Mario/Kunoichi vs Wild Link/Toon Link"
"Ready? GO!"
Mario answered the incoming attack from the toon with an uppercut on the jaw, while the warrior and the ginoid constantly clashed swords, the hero of the wild kicked her on the guts and tried to cut her in half, Kunoichi ducked and threw various kunais to Link, who covered with the shield
Mario jumped back but Toon Link took his bow and rapidly launched an arrow, which cut Mario's cheek but nothing more
-Auch- he had to avoid the stab but was unable to do the same with the shield attack, landing directly on the face
While on the other battle, Link decided to materialize his bombs, throwing them rapidly to the shinobi who avoided them fast, but the hero pressed a button, the explosion caught her and damaged part of the train
-Those bombs can be dangerous for the train…- direct hit from the sword, being a machine, Kunoichi was still able to fight but a little part of her suit was cut –Mario, we need to make them not to use bombs, I'm for sure that the kid has those too.
Speaking about those, Mario caught a bomb from Toon Link and threw it out of the train before exploding, and before the cartoon landed an attack, Mario kicked him hard, sending him against the wall and launching a fire ball the kid was a little tired, then Cappy spoke
-Maybe I can help to see what is going on!
-Right!
Once the plumber launched the cap to land on Toon Link's head, Mario went straight to his mind, it was like a space filled with stars, but then he looked at something, it was a ball of a gray energy, similar to…
-Would it be possible? - Mario asked
- What? - Cappy continued
-That energy is similar to that Xeno guy.
-The one who sent you flying? - The cap then started to think –Well, it means that he was on this planet before.
-And putting our friends against us- Mario prepared a huge fireball -Hopefully this works!
It did, an explosion that dispelled the energy away pretty easily, with that done, the plumber escaped, once outside, Toon Link was starting to move awkwardly, and the aura was escaping from his body, but then Mario noticed, Kunoichi was having problems against the hero of the Wild
-Right, onto the next one!
Link sent the ginoid to the floor and pointed her with his sword, but before landing the attack, Mario took the control of the sword fighter and started to make him tremble a lot and scream, then after some seconds, he went outside just to look at his friend yelling even louder before the aura was expelled, making him to be really tired
-Well, that was odd.
GAME!
Kunoichi was helped by her new ally –Thanks, this warrior, he is one of the strongest foes I have ever faced.
-The hero of the wild, both come from different realities, but both are link, hopefully after the fight they are ok- The adult one was recovering the consciousness –Look, he is awake
Before he could say anything, Mario approached to him, the hero was visibly ashamed of what he just did, but then he looked at Kunoichi, she was pretty similar to the princess he owed to protect, so he stood up, approached to her and even touched her shoulders, the ginoid was not surprised as she was unable to show emotions, but still said
-Well, this is very strange.
-Calm down Link, she is not Zelda- The hero rubbed his eyes just to notice it, then surprised and ashamed once more –Whatever happened don't worry, we saved you both and the kid.
Toon Link was waking up, but once he noticed who was alongside him, he smiled
-Yes!- the little one said
After solving that problem, Kunoichi looked in front of them, the train was approaching to a city that she didn't recognized
-Mr Mario, look.
But the legend himself would do –New Donk! Great, there should be friends to talk with there, and we can get some help too!
New Donk City was one of the most modern and biggest cities that Mario has ever landed on, visiting it was such a blast the last time he went there, so once the team arrived and looked at how the train station was, the Links were amazed, but Kunoichi was not
-Looks like my home city, not as destroyed though.
-It's ok, I know where to go, follow me- outside of the station, Mario wanted to run, but looking at his team, maybe he had to change plans –Well, I have some money with me… Taxi!
….
But once on the Town Hall, it was closed, such a bad situation for them, but on the door, Link was the first one to notice the paper that was glued on it, then he read it
"Sorry, but today is free day for the workers here, the Town Hall of New Donk is organizing a fighting tournament and authorities are right now on the Coliseum All attention will be resumed tomorrow
New Donk's Mayor: Pauline"
Everyone looked at the letter, so Mario sighed and took more coins from his sleeve.
….
And on a giant coliseum, on a big screen, there was the announcement of what was happening
"Finals of the Boxing World Tournament: Little Mac vs King Hippo"
And inside, on the boxing ring there he was, the little but strong champion of the world, defending his title surrounded by the people that was yelling for him, the little guy was fighting with heart and soul against a bigger opponent on the fat, ugly but very strong boxer
-Come on little one, punch me with all your strength!
"Welcome: King Hippo from Punch Out!"
His opponent just smiled –Well then, looks like I have to make a bigger effort then.
"Unlocking Battle: Little Mac vs King Hippo"
"Ready? GO!"
Both clashed punches and then Mac avoided one from the big boxer, landed an uppercut and then a jab, another one, and another one, then a punch on the guts, but while it hurt the big guy, he took the advantage to catch him and give him a punch so strong that sent him to the floor, before the count would start, Mac recovered, went on guard and tried to land a punch, but the Hippo avoided and sent a powerful hit to the jaw
-Ja ja, not enough.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5… ok, stand-up"
Mac shook his head –He has trained a lot, that's for sure- He was caught again, to receive a head-butt so hard, that stun him for some seconds
-Hey, only punches are valid, do that again and you're disqualified! - The referee yelled at him
-That's why I did it, I don't need to do it any more- A punch on the guts was putting Little Mac in trouble.
Meanwhile on the public, the beautiful leader of New Donk City, Pauline, was cheering for the little boxer to stand up
-Come on Mac, you can do it!
But alongside her, someone else, very tall, with a red business suit, blonde and with some wine on his hand was also witnessing everything, apparently he was also talking with the mayor
-Such a pleasant view to witness those magnificent warriors.
-And I'm very happy that you wanted to help us to organize this tournament, mr Rugal Bernstein.
Maybe she didn't know who he truly was, but here he was, the legendary criminal Rugal Bernstein, looking at the boxers fighting for their prize
Meanwhile and after receiving another punch, Mac shook his head, that was enough –I can't win via normal count, he is that strong now but…- he avoided the attack and prepared his punches –Take this!
And a very fast and powerful flurry of punches was being hit on the stomach of the King Hippo, with such strength that paralyzed him and Little Mac didn't want to stop, an uppercut on the jaw and continued the attack, but then stopped, took some distance and pressed his muscles, he wanted to give the finishing blow
-Take this!
One final blow on the stomach, Mac wanted him to fall off the ring but the Hippo instead went straight to the mat, hopefully those attacks were enough but his opponent was trying to recover
"1,2,3,4,5,6…
-I won't fail… ouch, my stomach hurts…
"7,8,9,10! TKO!"
That was it, it meant that Little Mac would retain his world title, but he had such a difficult task in order to defend it, everyone exploded on applause, specially Pauline, Rugal on the other hand was more reserved
-Well done King Hippo, that was rough.
GAME!
Moments later and as the champion was getting outside of the coliseum, he was intercepted by Pauline, behind her there it was Rugal, she spoke
-That was an astonishing performance Mac.
-Thanks for those words- then he looked at the businessman –Who is he?
-Oh, sorry, Mac, he is Rugal Bernstein, he helped us to organize the tournament this time.
-Nice to meet you little warrior.
-Thanks, but I'm curious, Why?
-Well I'm going to organize another tournament and wanted to personally see who were the best prospects for it, you and Hippo impressed me- and extended an invitation –So is up to you to accept, if you want to come to the next King of Fighters tournament.
The boxer took the letter, raised an eyebrow and smiled –Sounds interesting.
Rugal looked at the sky, 2 black birds appeared on the sky, then he started to think –Well, isn't it interesting? That monster wants to attack everywhere, hopefully he fulfill his promise.
But before anyone could say anything, a taxi arrived, from it, the Links, Kunoichi and Mario went outside, just for the plumber to say
-Oh, we arrived too late- and he greeted his friends –Pauline, Mac, nice to see you again.
-Mario, long time no see each other, is nice to meet you again.
-Thanks Pauline, unfortunately it is not on the best conditions.
Something that caught the mayor off guard –What's wrong?
-How can I explain it? - Mario was thinking about it
-A new enemy that is menacing the entire world- Kunoichi explained it faster, Mario sighed
-A new one, just now? We just beat both Galeem and Dharkon recently- Little Mac crossed his arms –How powerful?
-As I feel it, he is maybe just as powerful as any of them right now, but he is trying to become stronger- Mario said –That's why any help is needed.
Little they would know that an enemy was close to them, as Rugal took some distance, he started to think
-They are here, what now?
-Take the lady hostage alongside the other, don't worry, the reinforcements must come… now.
Rugal would smile once from the sky, a little black meteor would fall to the street, and as everyone got distracted, with one precise hit on the neck, took Pauline and grab her without anyone else noticing it, meanwhile the other group looked how from the meteor, a huge group of black figures were appearing with similar shapes as some of Mario's friends
-So the new enemy didn't lose any time at all to attack us- The boxer said, getting ready for the fight
-It's going to be easy…- but then Mario noticed it, at the same time as the Links –What, where are Pauline and the other guy? - A fury shadow attacked him from behind, meaning that the battle just started –We will take care of that later, Time to fight.
Little would they know that King Hippo was approaching to them from the coliseum, being able to watch everything that happened
-What is going on here?
"Mission 6: Rumble on New York"
"Ready? GO!"
The crew divided but maintained pretty close in order to help the citizens to escape from the havoc, Mario launched a flying kick to a fury that looked like Yoshi
-Escape!- he said
-Thanks!- the guy said
The distraction costed mr videogame to receive a hit directly on the face, luckily for him, Little Mac sent the fury flying, a saving grace
-Be careful.
Both had to team up in order to defeat the furies that started to surround them, meanwhile with the swordfighters, they had a better luck fighting, at one moment, they covered their backs, doing that gave them a better chance as the furies were starting to appear in bigger numbers, then the Links looked at each other, they were no normal swordsmen, they took their bombs and launched at the furies, destroying some of them
Kunoichi nodded, and launched a blaster explosion of her own, surprising her current partners a bit due of the power of it, that was taken for the incoming enemies to surprise them all and attack as quickly as possible, looking at that, both Little Mac and Mario wanted to help, but the furies were coming very fast from the meteorite, like they had no end
-How much of them will come?!- the boxer asked
Fortunately for the duo, King Hippo arrives with a massive punch, taking lots of enemies with it
-What are you doing stupids?- The giant boxer said –The creatures are coming from that hole, destroy that!
The group had to make a bigger effort in order to arrive to the hole, rapidly the two Links located the little black meteor and threw more bombs to it as the rest were still fighting with the furies, once done, the remaining ones ran away from them
-What was that?- Mario asked with the groups joining on one again
Then Mac looked at his rival –Thank you for saving us.
-Is not over, I was able to look that red suited guy kidnapping the mayor Pauline- That surprised everyone, then Hippo pointed to one direction –Hopefully I'm not wrong, but they were going to that direction.
Kunoichi analyzed it –Returning to the Town's Hall, if they are there, I will locate them.
-Then let's go.
"GAME"

Back on Town's hall, on the top of the building, Rugal was arriving with Pauline on his shoulder, then went inside of the building, once inside of the Mayor's office, which was a total disaster aside of 2 people, one with red hair and a black armor, another that was a girl with short blonde hair and dressed like an explorer, she was unconscious on a chair, then Rugal let Pauline on another one that was at one side
-Well, here she is, I don't know why we were asked to bring these two here Ganondorf.
There he was, the wielder of the triforce of power, Ganondorf, looking at who was looking, was his partner
-The only thing that we need to know is the promise of power that Xeno gave to us, that is enough for me- then looked at the window –I can feel the presence of that piece of crap, Link, coming close to here, with him, the three pieces of the triforce will be mine.
-Depending on the power of such a thing, how pathetic.
-Said someone that needed the blood of a god to still fail against a teenager—Rugal just smiled at him, as Ganondorf knew that it could be applied the same for him –Besides, if we want to win, we need to use all of our power until the ritual is complete.
-For Xeno to be able to transport himself here whenever he want- then looked at the ladies –Zelda and Pauline, such beautiful girls, sadly they will be sacrificed.
-Not like I will be sad for that- But then Ganondorf approached to another window, looking from there on the sky, a giant snake with wings was flying, but having problems on its shoulder, maybe someone was fighting on his loin? –Damn, they were not the only ones on this city, this is going to be hard.
-Then let's start with the ritual right now.
The Orochi's blood started to boil in his veins as Rugal eye turned red, Ganondorf triforce of power started to shine too, a gray circle started to surround both Zelda and Pauline, who were starting to feel pain because of what they were doing.
-It's done, the enemies will appear here at any moment, we need to secure the building until the sacrifice is complete- Rugal said
-Let's secure both sides of this building then, now move.
Both Rugal and Ganondorf separated ways
…..
Outside of the hall, the group rapidly encountered Rugal getting outside of the building
-You!- Mario yelled
-Don't be surprised at all little guy, It is a little favor that I'm doing, that's it- then he smiled –The promise aside of the power was that I would be able to fight against some of the most powerful warriors on this world, that's why I was here on the first place, Mac and Hippo surprised me a bit, but, would they be able to fight me?
-What, you want to fight us at the same time?
-Add one partner, That's my style.
No time to think for the boxers, Mario stepped in front –You attacked Pauline and this city, I won't forgive you.
-Wait a second, we are still here, we won't play on your rules- on that moment, Rugal snapped his fingers, and then a wave of furies appeared from the sides of the building –Well, forget it.
The Links went on guard on that moment, while Mario, Little Mac and King Hippo were ready to fight the criminal
-Now no more interruptions, come for me.
"Boss Battle: King Hippo/Little Mac/ Mario vs Rugal"
"Ready? GO!"
The team charged but the mafia boss was ready to shot –Repukken!
King Hippo received the attack, but Little Mac jumped and tried to punch Rugal on the face, he covered and sent the boxer to the ground, then Rugal had to cover from Mario kicks, just for the moustache guy to receive one from his enemy
-Come on.
But Hippo landed a punch on his chest, and then Little Mac one on his face, making Rugal to step back a little
-You from one side, II' coming from the other- Little Mac said
-Got it- the big guy said
But as the two approached to Rugal, he smiled –Genocide Cutter!- hitting the two with a massive inverse roundhouse kick –Ja ja, I over estimated you.
But then he caught a hat, Mario went flying against him with a massive kick on the face, just to receive a punch from Rugal, but mr videogame jumped and hit an uppercut on the criminal's jaw, giving enough time to the boxers to recover
And for King Hippo to jump as hard as he could, and then giving Rugal a huge punch on the top of the head, then for Mac to launch a powerful punch on the guts, the criminal had to step back, as the three warriors were overcoming him, but that made him smile
-Not bad, not bad at all I can say, you are very entertaining.
-Maybe you asked too much to handle- Little Mac said
But then the enemy smiled, an evil grin -Very interesting, and entertaining I can add, but to be honest, I can't play with you too much- took his red jacket and threw it away, keeping a black BVD with him, but then a huge black aura appeared, dealing some pressure on Rugal -Show yourself to be deserving on fighting me on my best, the form that I label myself as Omega Rugal!
-We have to attack before he finishes to transform!- Little Mac went fat to attack Rugal with a massive punch, but the aura sent him against Hippo
Mario witnessed everything, and then the transformation of the criminal finished, a little taller, stronger, darker skin and white hair, his eye shinning on red
-2nd round.
Taking Mario by surprise, Rugal approached to him so fast that the plumber just barely managed to cover from his punch, but then, the mafia boss caught him with 3 huge kicks
-Genocide Cutter!- and once Mario landed on the floor, he started to laugh -Jajajaja!
-These idiot!
Hippo charged, but Rugal was ready to shot a massive energy attack from his two hands -Kaiser Wave!
The energy attack landed on Hippo, sending him across the street and against a column, destroying it
-Ouch…
Mac charged, hitting Rugal directly on the face, but with his superhuman speed, hit the boxer so many times that Mac was barely able to notice when it happened
Mario threw Cappy against him, being able to kick Rugal on the face and then shot lots of fire balls, but the enemy was very strong on that moment, shotting a white energy sphere, sent Mario flying against the group that was fighting against
-Mr Mario, please be careful- Kunoichi added
But before anyone could say anything, Rugal joined the furies on attacking the ginoid and the two Links, sending them against walls, Mario tried to attack with a dunk, but Rugal caught him, sending him alongside the hero of the wild
Link, looking that the fight was getting difficult, extended his Master Sword to Mario
-You sure?- He nodded, but then something happened, Mario was unable to carry the sword, it was too heavy for him -What' going on.
Some words resonated on Link's mind, coming from Zelda long time ago "Only a true hero can be chosen by the Master Sword to be its carrier"
What could that mean form the legend himself? Mario was unable to carry it, being confused for that, and Rugal laughing for that -Please, Using a weapon? You're pathetic.
Little he would notice when King Hippo appeared to land a heavy punch on Rugal guts, and then a lot of jabs
-I will make you pay for hitting me that hard!
But his punch was caught -Don't make me laugh- a headbutt and caught on the throat, Rugal started to deal a lot of damage via energy stealing, once done, Hippo was unconscious -Maybe you're not worthy of entering King of Fighters.
Then Rugal paid attention, someone was approaching at full speed, he caught him with his punch, but clashed with Mac super speed punch, hurting the enemy
-We don't need your invitations after all- Super Uppercut directly to Rugal's jaw, but that costed Mac's energy
-Mario, is up to you!
But he was still distracted of what happened with the sword, he reacted but before doing it, Link took the master sword, cutting Rugal's back, because of that, the mafia boss was out, feeling the pain while on the ground
Everyone else looked all of this -It's over?- Mac asked, Toon Link nodded -Phew, he was hard, a lot.
GAME!
But then Rugal giggled -He, you needed a 4th member to finish me, you had no honor at the end- and looked at Mario -It is something wrong? Poor of you, maybe you're not as heroic as you though.
Aside of Hippo, who was just recovering, everyone else surrounded the defeated one, Mac pointed at him with his punch -Now speak, why did you kidnapped miss Pauline?
The answer was given by a huge scream coming from the building, with Rugal laughing, the Links noticed it on their hands, the triforce was resonating, it just meant one thing, Zelda was near, too
-Maybe you're not late to save them, she is not alone after all.
-Tell us what you're doing! - Mario yelled
-Too late…-
As a farewell, Rugal exploded on a massive dark energy column, before disappearing from the eye of his enemies, but there was no time to lose, as they were running back to the building, but the furies re appeared, and from the sk, a massive winged serpent covered in black feathers appeared
-This just has no end- Hippo said, just reappearing from his injuries.
-But we have to finish it, all together, we can.
Everyone nodded, and attacked the enemies back, would they be able to rescue both Zelda and Pauline? Chaos was happening on the entire city, maybe someone else would join the party
