A Spy's Life Reboot EP 33: Shirek from Beyond

In a stormy cold night in Norway, a lone fishing vessel thrashes against the waves as hail and thunder pelts down with out mercy. Even the icebergs were not safe as a lighting bolt destroyed one. As the ship kept moving, the steerer saw a giant iceberg and quickly turns as fast as he can, avoiding the large ice chunk as his partner looks out the window and sighs, giving the 'O.K.' sign. But he was shocked to see his partner is frozen in awe and fear, making him glanced forward to see huge iceberg, but what got him in awe as lighting flashed in the sky, a bird like figure is shown in the ice, making the 2 men very stunned. So stunned, they started to scream in terror, just as an unholy screech is heard, echoing through the waters as the boat impacted the ice!

At Beverly Hills, Jr. High, Normie was poking at his lunch of grey gunk in disgust and confusion. "I can't tell If this Oatmeal, or Meatloaf. Maybe both." "Which is way I went Fasttrack to get us a real lunch." Dan smiles out as he returns with food from Burger Barn as Normie grins tosses out his tray. "Thanks, man! This is way better then 'Mystery Meal Monday'." As they both ate, they glances back at the Football and cheerleader's tables and saw the great food on there table. "And surprise, surprise, the Football and Cheer squad gets real food while the rest are stuck with that gunk." Dan spoke as eh chomps down on some fries. Normie frowns as he sips from his soda. "I know! It's so unfair they get all the perks. Who elected them rulers of the school? Why, If I was on the team, I would—" Normie stop as he had an idea, making him grins out with a ding! "Dude. Did you just did a ding sound?" "Yeah! Because I got a great idea. I'm joining the Football team." Dan glances back and forth and askes out. "You're joking, right?" "No really! If I can make the team, then I would totally cash in on the perks! Not to mention getting a shoo-in to being Pauline's boyfriend." Normie smirks out at his fantasy bubble with chibis.

"Uhh… In case you haven't noticed, those guys are like twice size and packing twice the muscle! And I'm pretty sure they already got Towel and Water Boy already filled in. How are you going to get in, if your fingers gets sore, every time you play 'Blvd Brawlers 3' at the arcade?" "Hey! I'll have you know that button mashing is an effective technique. Besides, how hard can it be to make the team? Even Jacob is on it." "And what's that supposed to mean, Manson!?" The school's quarterback star and bully snarls out as he shows up at there table and points at Normie as the blonde got intimidated. "Oh! Nothing! I was thinking that Football wasn't you kind of sport. You look kind of like a motocross/wrestler type of guy." The blonde grins out. "I can't officially motocross until I'm 15 and Wrestling is more a Spring Sport for me. I was born to play Football. I get tackle and body slam people for 2 hours! Ha!" Jacob left, laughing like a tool as Dan glances at his best friend with a frown and deadpan look. "I know, I know. I should have told Jacob I was considering joining the team." The lunch bell rang as all the students clears the trays and heads for 4th period.

But along the way, Dan's phone went off as the Forever Knight's symbol is shown. "Looks like the Knights are asking for another supernatural freakshow for their collection." Dan taps the icon as it shows a blinking arrow as the boy moves the phone until it shows the portal coming from the conveyor belt where the used trays go. Both boys glanced around to see no one is watching or noticing as they climbed on and were whisked away.

Arriving at the Forever Knights' headquarters, both boys enters the Throne room, only to be surprised at Sir Cyrus is pinning a small, plant monster under his foot as a trio of Knights stood before him as another plant monster lungs at him, only for the man to grab it by it's neck and spoke out. "Now remember, new knights. Your time is dived between training, studying and…" He whips out his laser lance and shoves it it's mouth, pulling the trigger as he sprays plant guts everywhere. "You might consider bringing towels next time." King Patrick on his throne notices the boys. "Greetings, squares. I have called you here because we got reports of a mysterious woman, found frozen in ice in Norway. We had received strange activities coming from the local fishing village and want you 2 to investigate it." "Wait! Where's Madison?" "I'm afraid she is unavailable, due to her Japanese lessons. Not to worry. I'll have my Knight prepare appropriate clothing for you." The boys then left on that note.

On a boat in the ice-cold Norway sea, Dan and Normie, now clad in winter outfits and gear, they can't help but give out there thoughts. "Man! This is so weird on being on another paranormal mystery hunt without Madison." "I know! She's like the brains of the team. But I'm sure we can do fine with her!" Normie smirks out as Dan thought about it. Just then, one of the crewmembers told them they had spotted the iceberg. Both boys looks through binoculars to spot the fishing boat lodged into the ice. "Whoa… I heard of shipwrecked on an island, but shipwrecked on an Iceberg? That's a new one." Dan spoke out.

The boy managed to reach the floating ice as they spoke to the fishing men, Sven and Olaf. "Then, what happened?" "Boat could not be steered. An iceberg was coming quickly!" "A woman's face in ice… So haunting…" "But before we can see anything else, we crashed." Normie rubs his head at the info. "Well… there's no one in the ice now." Dan, on the other hand, is exploring the wrecked boat, only to spot a cave on the other side. He spot a hanging icicle and leaps onto it, hanging on, only to slip and fall down with a thud. "Ow!" Dan rubs his behind as he groans out. "Man…" But just then, the boy heard something coming from the cave, making him venture deep within. Dan kept looking around, to stop at the sight of a glowing indent in the ice, shaped like a Snow Angel. "Whoa…" "Dan! You okay, down there?" "Yeah! Check it out! I found a Snow Angel!" "Snow Angel?" Normie questions out as he slides down. As the blonde stop nears the Omnitrix welder, he gazes up in awe as well. "Wow… It does look like a Snow Angle! But why is it in the Iceberg? And how did it get there?"

Dan looks down and spot a feather, picking it up, he saw that it was see through, like crystal. "A see thought feather. Now that's actually a cool souvenir!" Normie ponders out as he got a theory, snapping his fingers in response. 'maybe the woman in the ice is a Fallen Angel!" 'Fallen what?" "Angel. The personification of the wickedness in the world. According to Paranormal Monthly, there not that uncommon." The blonde 11-year-old points out from his favorite magazine as Dan looks back at the feather. "Ether way, let's send this feather away for the Knights to figure it out and we can head back to the fishing town."

The 2 boys were walking through the fishing village nearby as the moon shines in the night sky. "Can't believe Madison is missing out on this! A spooky fishing town, a mysterious angel on the loose and the best part: no school!" Normie then adds out in dismay at the sight of some the food for sell, disgusted by the tentacles wiggling around. "Now, if only this place has some real, decent food. Bleagh!" Dan looks at the food in disgust. "I know! The only person who would think this is edible is Grand—" Dan stop as he got a sad look and glances down, walking away as Normie notices and follows. "Hey! Dude, you feeling okay?" "Yeah… I'm fine." Dan mumbles out as Normie can tell he isn't fine. As they were passing by a lodge, they felt a large wind blow as they heard a scream. "Jeeze, for such a small town, you think they would have quitter music."

Suddenly, a loud shriek fills the air as the boys covered their ears as the windows broke from the sonic attack. Dan knock open the door and they both ran in, only to come across a strange woman, causing the scream with a bigger then usually mouth. Normie then notices the place is starting to come down as he cries out. "DAN! THE PLACE IS FALLING APART!" "ON IT!" Dan cries out as he slaps down on the Omnitrix and transforms into Shock Rock, who then created a large energy dome shield, covering Normie and all the other sailors as well. The building collapses with a big crash as Shock Rock disables the shield after. "Whew! That was close." "Yeah… Why didn't you all ran out when that lady started to scream?" A sailor replies in a confused tone. "Scream? We didn't hear screaming. One moment, my lads and were just enjoying ourselves. Then this woman came up on stage and then, blank!" Suddenly, the same shrieking is heard as the alien and boy ran outside to see the people looking up in the sky in fear and alarm.

A flying shadow appears with wings on it's arms. "Rolf…" The being shrieked as the people panicked and ran for safety. The being swoops overhead as Normie cries out. "That's the angel from the ice!" "I'm on it! Going airborne!" Shock Rock cries out as he slaps on the Omnitrix, quick changing into Big Chill and took off into the air after the bird lady. Big Chill kept flying after her, only to lose her in some clouds, making him stop and hover as he glances around. "Where did it go?' Big Chill looks left and right, only to hear shrieking as he glances behind to see the being charged at him, but he quickly phased through monster and breaths his frost breath at it, but it was faster then it looks, rolling out of they way as it tries to dive at him with it's talons. But Big Chill flew upward and makes an Ice spike ball in his fist and swings it at the bird, knocking her away as she flew away. "Yeah! You better run!" He cries out as he flew back to Normie.

"Dan?' They both look up to there surprise, Britney in her winter gear and Jetpack, landing near them. "Britney? What are you doing here?" "You know her, dude?" "She's a friend of the girls." Big Chill explains as he changes back. "Well, I was heading back from completing a mission, when I heard this screeching so loud you hear it from 3 towns over. I came to investigate and spot you, mixing it up with some sort of giant bird." Normie remembers the monster as he spoke out. "The Fallen Angel! We got to go after it!" "Fallen Angel?" The teen raises an eyebrow. "NO!" They all quickly looks into some shadows to spot an old sailor waking out of it. "Leave the creature be!" Just as the man walks up, he cries out, surprising and scaring the 3 as he leans into Britney's face. "SHE IS PURE EVIL! Stop meddling in things you don't know about. Stay away!" The man took off at those words. "I don't know what's freakier. Some shrieking creature that flies or that crazy old man?"

Suddenly, a Knight hologram pops up in front of them. "Speaking of strange, I have new information, young hunters." The trio were startled as he fell back, only to got up with angry looks at the hologram as the knight notices the look and sweat drops. "Apologies! I didn't mean to frighten. The feather you sent is not only 40 years old. But it contains traces of both Human and bird DNA as well." "So, that thing is half-bird, half-human? Whoa! Maybe she's a phoenix!" "Doubt it! If It was a phoenix, she would have been on fire." Dan scoffs out as Britney glances between the 2, having no clue what they are talking about. "One more thing! The feather also has traces of quartz and orthoclase." Britney hits a buzzer as she spoke out. "Quartz and orthoclase! Put the 2 compounds together and you have granite! It was a science project." The buzzes went off as Dan ponders out, rubbing his chin in thought. "So… We just find the nearest granite cliff and we find that thing?" "Correct, Squire Tennyson! Good luck!" The hologram disappears as the disc flew off.

Back at the Forever Knights HQ, the Knight who has contacted Dan and Normie ran up to King Patric in the throne room in a hurry. "What is the meaning of this?" The knight came forward and whispers into the king's ear, with the man's eyes narrowing as he listens. 'Yes… It seems we have to adjust another spy's memory as well. WOOHP can not find out. Sir Cyrus." The 2nd-in-command nods in response as he and the knight went off, all while the king places his hands together and looks down in thought.

Later, at a nearby Granite Cliffside, Rath is scaling the rock walls with ease as Normie is on his back while Britney follows on her bungie belt. "Looks like I'm riding the Rath express!" 'Oh yeah! No bird lady is going to escape the wrath of Rath!" "Just be careful, you 2! We don't what she is capable of." They managed to reach a large cave as Rath changed back. As they peered into the cave, Britney spot something inside. "Guys! Look!" She whispers as she points at the sleeping form of the strange lady of the bar. "Hey! It's that lady from the bar! The one that was screaming." "How much you want to bet she's our monster in disguise." Dan frowns out as they slowly approached her. But just then, Britney steps on something as she notices, finding a gold locket and opens it to see a handsome sailor's photo. "'Love eternal, Rolf.' Rolf? Who's Rolf?" Normie thought about it and remembers something about the bird lady! She was crying out the same name before in town as well, meaning this 'Rolf' character must be important to her. "That's the name the bird woman cried out before! Must be someone she knows well."

Dan, on the other hand, hides behind a rock as he watches the Siren sleeps. "Okay, Omnitrix. How about turning me into something that can net this thing?" Dan whispers out as he pushes the button, making the watch activate with a beep. But the sound echoes through the cave, making Normie and Britney got panicked looks as they quickly hide behind some rocks as well. The woman woke up and rubs her eyes, glancing around her cave for the sound as she searched high and low. "Strange… Could have sworn I heard something." The woman shrugs out as she quickly went back to sleep, just as Dan pushes down on the core and turns into Snare-Oh. "Not what I had in mind, but I can work with this, I think." Snare-Oh peeks out to see the woman is sleeping as he slowly made his move to grab and entangle her. "Dan!" he glances back to see Normie and Britney frantically waving at him, trying to get the mummy to come to them. Only for there faces became fear as Snare-Oh ponders out. "What's with you 2? You look like you seen a… She's awake and right behind me, isn't she?" Snare-Oh got an 'uh-oh; look as he peeks behind the see the woman is awake and looking at him as her eyes became all blue with slitted pupils.

"Uhh… Sorry about waking you up?" "Dan! I think we should run, now!" "It's never good when the monster finds intruders in it's lair! Trust me on this one, bud!" "Good point!" The woman transforms into a white with sliver underbelly bird like form with long tail and see through wings under her arms with her pinky being part of the wings. She now has feathers around her upper chest and neck areas as well and a sharp beak and talons. The woman screeches out as the trio made a run for it, all while the cave started to collapse. Snare-Oh grabs the 2 in his arms and leaps out, turning back and stretching his arm up tot the to and grabs hold of a rock, pulling themselves to safety.

"Okay… Are all girls like this when they get woken up?" "No… Only when we find guys in our rooms with no explanations. But what was that thing?! How can some lady turn into a bird-like creature and scream so loud it breaks the sound barrier?! It's scientifically impossible!" Britney cries out in aa frantic tone as she has no clue what it was, due to ether no experiences with the Supernatural or believes in it. "And yet you're talking to an 11-year-old, who carries an Alien watch on his arm that allows him to transform into different beings from outer Space?' Snare-Oh crossed his arms as Britney thought about and realizes it is kind of a dumb question if something like the Omnitrix is possible and the existence of alien life forms. "Yeah I guess that's true. But what was it!?" "Beats me!" Normie shrugs out, only for singing to fill the air, just as Snare-Oh's eyes widened and starts walking towards the cliff. "Dan? What are you doing?" The mummy alien steps off as Normie cries out in a frantic tone as he and the teen panics. "Mummy overboard! Mummy Overboard!" They quickly grabs his back tendrils and pulls with all there might, making him stop above an floating ice platform in the ocean.

"That was a close one." Normie breaths out, just for the bird monster to fly out of her cave and circles around towards the 2. "Shoo, bird! Shoo!" Britney cries out as the bird cries out as she flew over, using the wind gust to knock the 2 over as they scream. Normie quickly activates his belt and suits up, both using there bungee belts to grab onto the cliff and stop, lowering themselves down to the ice platform, just to see the bird woman flies off into the sunset.

Snare-Oh times out as Dan sat up and shook his head. "What happened?" Normie cries out. "Seriously?! You were the one who decide to take a long walk of a short cliff and you're asking us what happened?!" "I… Walked off the cliff? I don't' remember that." Dan scratches his head in confusion. Britney is surprise as she threw her arms up, walking away. "Unbelievable! How could you not remember that?! It was like your were hypnotized or something! All because of some song?! Wait… Maybe that singing did hypnotized you!" "Wha?" Normie realizes it's time for the Legend Dex as he taps into his wrist computer. "Let's see what the Legend Dex has to say about this singing bird lady." The holoscreen shows up as Normie types in the monster's description.

The blonde then grins out as he got a match! "Got one! 'The legend of the Mythological Siren'. Siren? Aren't sirens suppose to let people know incoming danger?" Britney spoke out. "Actually, in my history class, on a few classes on Greek History, I learned about a few myths that comes from that country. And Siren is actually the name of one of them." Normie kept reading "'In Greek Mythology, the Siren, a half-bird, half-woman being, lured sailors to there doom by there sweet songs and voices. The Greek hero Odysseus, escaped the danger by stuffing his crew's ears with wax and tying himself to the main mast of his boat.'" "So that's why, I wasn't affect by it's song. The Siren only targets men!" "Then, how come Dan and I weren't affected when we 1st saw the Siren at the bar?" Normie spoke out as Britney ponders it until she snaps her fingers. "The Siren's song affects men, but you guys aren't men in the public because you're both 11. The song doesn't work on kids because they're too pure to be corrupted." Dan then ponders out something. "Then, how come I was brainwashed when I was Snare-Oh? Any answers?" "Well, you may be a kid inside, but you're aliens are sort of like adults on the outside, so I guess because Snare-Oh is technically an adult. But why did the Siren waited so long to come back?"

This time, Dan is the one who answers that question. "Sven and Olaf! When they crashed into the Iceberg, there ship must have broke her free! She was the woman in the ice." Normie then adds out as he shrugs his arms. "Well, that explains how the Siren broke free, but how did she got frozen to begin with? I'm not sure she's in a talking mood." Britney then remembers the locket as she took it out. "This 'Rolf' guy must be important to her. The feather is 40 years old, right? And date in the locket suggest that this Rolf character had his photo taken around the same time. We find him, we get our answers." Normie took the locket and stuides the man, having the strange feeling he has seen him before. "Where have we seen this guy before… Wait a sec! That old sailor! He was warning us about the Siren before! You think he's Rolf?" "Let's head back to town and find out!" Dan grins out as he shows off his Omnitrix as it beeps green.

Later at night, Fasttrack is running back to the village as fast as he can on the water, while holding Normie and Britney in his arms. "Look!" Normie points at the Siren in the sky as she was getting closer to the town, a bout to attack it. 'Not on my watch!' Fasttrack pours on the speed. He reaches the town as he sets his friends down. "You 2 better get everyone out. I'll deal with this angry bird." Britney nods in response as they both ran off as Fasttrack ran back to the water, spinning around to create a water cyclone that made the Siren quickly back off, deciding to attack Fasttrack as he runs around the water, out running the Siren. Fasttrack notices she was chasing him as she fries out sonic blasts, making him zig and zag. "Miss me! Nice try, not!" The bird screeches out in angry as Fasttrack creates another water cyclone, one the siren could not dodge in time as she was twisted and splashed with cold water she is thrown away, making her fly off in a weakened state as Fasttrack made his back to dry land on the town as he smirks out. "Bird of prey? More like a complete chicken!" BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP FLASH

Dan smirks out. "Oh yeah! No singing bird woman is going to get the better of Dan 10!" Just then, his friends ran up as Britney reports. "Okay! All the civilians have been evacuated. But we didn't find Rolf amongst them. Where can he be?" Normie ponders out as he walks around. "Hmm… If I were an old sailor, trying to stay away from an evil flying Siren, where would I hide?" As the blonde took his time trying to rake his brain for his paranormal know how, he steps on a sewer gates as he notices. "Wait… Birds fly in the sky, right? So maybe Rolf went somewhere deep underground, where the Siren can't fly to!" "That's right! That's a smart move, dude." Dan smirks out as Normie smugly replies. "I like to see the look on Mr. Matthews face when he found out I managed to find out where a missing person went. Bet he'll be sorry about giving me a C-." "Oh, I'm sure your science teacher would be impressed. "Britney deadpans as she pries the gate open and climbs down as Dan follows after. "Science? He's my Social Studies teacher."

The 2 monster hunting kids and teen spy kept trudging through the sewers, looking around to see the place covered in slime and everything you expect from a sewer. "Gross! Why would anyone live down here?' "To be as far away from that creature as possible!" They look to there left to find Rolf, coming out from some curtains in a makeshift-living area. "She will never find me. Never!" "But she almost destroyed the town looking for you!" "Yeah! Tons of people almost got hurt! Why is she after you?" Dan askes as Rolf looks down and explains his tale. "It happened 40 years ago… Me and the Siren were in love… But back then, I was young and arrogant. I grew tired of the Siren and left her. But when I did, she vowed to destroy me. So, before she could, I managed to trick her to landing on my fishing vessel, where I froze her in a block of ice and left her on an iceberg. I thought that would be the last I heard of her. But… She's now returned."

"Wait a sec! The siren isn't the bad guy! She's just a victim of heartbreak! You're the reason this whole mess happened in the 1st place!" Britney cries out in disgust as Normie spoke out. "Wouldn't you do the same if your ex tried to destroy you as well?" Normie ponders out as Britney got a throbbing vein and smacked the boy in the skull, making him crash with a steaming bump on his head. "Still, we need to catch that Siren, once and for all! And Rolf is going to lure her out!" "What?! Me!?" The man exclaims as the 2 look at Dan. "How do we do that?" "We're going to take a page from old Odysseus' book." Britney smirks out as she cracks her knuckles. "Good thinking!"

The trio were on a boat as the teen steers ship as she glares at Rolf, tired securely to the mast at her height level as Dan and Normie leans against it while the boy fiddles with his Omnitrix. "Well… We're far enough. Looks like it's go time, Rolf!" "Let me go! This will never work!" The sailor cries out to Normie as Dan frowns out. "Just act like bait!" The man sighs out. "Fine… I'M THE MAN, BEFORE THE MAST WHO PLOWS THE RAGING SEA! ON THIS SIMPLE SUBJECT, WILL YOU ENLIGHTEN ME?!" The 3 males looks around for any sign of the Siren, hoping the cry could get her attention. "It isn't working!" "Wait! I think I can hear her singing! Try again to provoke her!" "Provoke her?! The last thing I want to do is provoke the beast that has hunted me for 40 years!" "Dude!" Normie cries out with a frown. "The sooner you can get her to come out, the sooner we can catch her and the sooner it will be safe for you and all sailors in Norway!" Rolf sighs out at the statement. "Well… when you put it that way." He took a deep breath.

"HEAR ME, MISTRESS OF THE SKIES! COME AND FACE THIS SAILOR! LET US SETTLE OUR DISPUTE, MAN TO BEAST!" The siren's cry fills the air as Dan smirks out. "Knew that can get her attention! Here she comes! Get ready!" As the 3 were bracing for the sire, Rolf was getting more and more scared as each second, the screeching is getting louder and closer. "PAY FOR YOUR TRANSGRESSIONS!" The siren cries out as she fires a sonic blast at the mast, making it fall into the water with Rolf. "She's getting away!" Normie cries out as Dan frowns out as he dials the Omnitrix. "Not on my watch! Britney! You help Rolf! I'll get the bird lady!" "Right!" The blue teen nods out as she quickly dives into the water to untie Rolf.

Dan slaps down on the Omnitrix and transforms into Raptor-Rang. "What better way to hunt down a monster then with an alien hunter?" he grins as he took out his elemental ranges and leaps onto on top of the control room. He gazes up as the Siren dives bomb towards the boat. He then leaps up and chucks his weapons at the bird lady, just as they became encased in ice and created a light blue line between them. The siren saw and tried to stop, only to get ensnared as the line starts freezing her into an ice cocoon as she fell down. She crashes onto the boat as Normie grins out. "Looks like we picked up a frozen chicken for dinner!" "And that's why lizards beats birds!"

Later, the Forever Knights came on there own sea vessel and placed the Siren in a containment capsule. "Well done, you 2! The Knights have never had the chance to met a Siren. This will be a great chance to study the creature for future notes and reference." Sir Cyrus spoke as Rolf slowly approaches the capsule as Dan nods at him. The man took a deep breath. "I'm sorry I froze you all those years ago and was insensitive. I know you will never forgive me, but at least take my apology." The Siren just glared at him and huffs, turning her back as the man backs away. A knight pushes a button, lowering the capsule below deck. "So, bud?" Dan spoke to his best friend. "When we get back, you still up for joining the Football Team?" "Yeah… no. After what I've been through, I'm more of a star player in Monster Hunting then in Football. Besides, the Paranormal beings have more brains then Jacob." The boy chuckles to themselves as Dan looks around. "Wonder where's Britney?"

As the Siren was lowered below as the hatch seals, she turns back to her human from as she sighs out, only to hear a voice as she looks back to see Britney, hiding behind some crates as she makes a call on her X-Powder. "Jerry! It's Britney! You are not going to believe what I discovered! There is a- AHHHHHHHHH!" The teen screams out as she is zapped in the back and falls over, knocked out as the knight behind her shuts his taser gadget off. "The spy is out, prepare the memory adjuster." He spoke to 2 more knights as they hold the girl up and uses a injector like device and stabs into the back of her skull, making her eyes flashed open as they glowed white, all while the Siren watched in shock and surprise. Britney closes her eyes as they removed the device. "Her memories are erased of everything that has happened today." "Good…" One of the knights took the X-powder and inserts a flash drive, wiping out data relating the adventure with a virus.

"Make sure she is sent back to WOOHP while we create a cover story for the Omnitrix welder and his friend. The boy is too valuable for us to turn against us." "Indeed… No one must know about the Knights. We have come too far for anything to meddle with the Grand Plan. And we need more creatures for it to come into fruition." The knights spoke out as they dragged Britney away as the Siren got a bit worried. "Grand plan? More creatures? I got a very bad feeling about these Knights."
