BLOOD SIBLINGS
CHAPTER 4
AN: HELLO YURI FANS, THIS IS YOUR TASTE FOR NOW, SAVOUR IT.
AT AN ALLEYWAY
It had been a few days since she and Izuku had started to live with Sweep Queen, and more or less Eraserhead. Even though he actually did not live with them he came by every morning to check on them and give her some sparing advice. Due to his quirk having no offensive techniques he had to master martial arts as well as that scarf weapon of his. So I was able to learn quite a lot from him, I went around the city checking out hero fights with Izuku. They said learning by watching other heroes was also a good idea, so we continued that until the third day when we bumped into Wakayama again.
He asked us what has happened recently and why were not anywhere in the area as per usual. Was he keeping an eye on us this whole time without saying anything? Whatever, we told him how we actually met someone and she adopted us, so now we had a proper home. As well as how I planned on following my dream to become a hero, I so happy to tell all this, however. For a moment he had an almost… upset? Look on his face before going back to normal. He then said he would teach her how to make use of her baggy sweater by hiding weapons.
At first she doubted he could hide anything with his clothes before pulling out over fifty small knives from his clothes. She was surprised to see he could actually hide that many knives on him with his clothes being full of as many holes as they were. Accepting his offer it took her nearly a week before she learned to conceal twenty-five small knives on her person without it interfering with her movement. It was less than half of his but it would have to do in this case, though she is pretty sure she can reach his level in a year or two with more practice. Afterwards he said he hoped to see me on the news one day kicking bad guy but, saying he would cheer the loudest for me when he did.
Wakayama had been keeping an eye out for Himiko and Izuku ever since he taught her how to pickpocket. Even though he was technically being a stalker, it brought him comfort to see another blood quirk user successfully living on the streets. He had invited her to join his group once but was turned down when she said that it be easier for her to worry just about herself and Izuku.
A sentiment that he agreed with, as such he did not get offended, especially sine he saw this coming from the beginning. But for some reason ever since that fire at the abandoned building they had not returned to the area since then. He even checked there 'Home' to see that it was clearly vacant the last few days, something that caused him to worry. It was impossible to not think about how they probably got caught in that fire and burned with it.
A few days of melancholy went by, when he had needed to go across town to collect blood from his usual source. As he was walking there he by some cosmic chance, met them again in a back alley way. He was so relieved to see they were okay he could never express it into words, well grammatically correct ones. As he knew if he tried he would use some dumb childish terms like 'Incredibalous' or 'Fantastical' and maybe even 'Super Special Awesome' it would be embarrassing to try. (ANYONE WHO GETS THE LAST TERM, WELL GOOD FOR YOU,YOU WATCH QUALITY YOUTUBE THEN)
He decided to ask them a question that was on his mind for the past few days since the fire. "Why were you guys not in the area recently?" Wakayama asked her hoping to hear a positive response. She kept it rather vague and told him how a women found them and had decided to take them in. How she also supported Himiko wanting to become a hero, something that was quite a hard pill for me to swallow. First off, why did she just randomly decide to adopt two street kids she just met, one with blood quirks at that? Secondly who would try to encourage someone with a blood quirk to become a hero, knowing how much blood quirk users were despised? Finally, were they actually trying to trick them and use them for their own gain, if so he would have to intervene for her own good.
For his first question for someone to do that they had practically be a saint or has some devious plan in mind. Going to his third question, if they did have something in mind, why give them as nice a home as Himiko described to him. If they really did have ulterior motives, they would probably have also restricted her freedom as well, which they clearly were not. So meaning this person must really be a kind hearted saint to have gone so far for them as they have done, that was one less worry on his mind now.
Though his second question was still a bit of a conundrum, why would they set them up for failure? Perhaps they had connections that would help her after she passed an entrance exam? If so then that means they had to either be a hero themselves, or had to on very good terms with a hero to be able to guarantee her a job after graduation. This thought made him relieved at her guaranteed future that lays in wait for her from this point on. Then out of nowhere she made a worried and he realized he let his negative thoughts from before show on his face.
Changing the subject he came up with an idea that would come in handy for her depending on how her hero costume is designed. "How about I teach you how to hide extra knives under your clothes?" I asked her getting a light chuckle. It seemed she doubted my ability to hide weapons, so I pulled out every weapon I had hidden on me. She was surprised to say the least, but quickly accepted this out of place skill of mine and we began practicing.
This time it was my turn to be surprised when she learned it in about a week, even though it was less than half of mine. Twenty-five knives were still quite impressive, especially since she just started learning it a week ago. With that last bit of training as my final gift, I left probably never seeing her again. "Oh yeah, when I see you on the news taking down a villian I will make sure to cheer the loudest." He said patting her back before leaving for good. He hopes that she has found what will hopefully be her last home, though knowing her she probably made the right judgement of that lady's character.
AT SWEEP QUEEN MAID CAFÉ
Sweep Queen or rather Cheri Clarabell was even happier as of late due to Himiko and Izuku starting to see her and Shota as their mom and dad. And even though no one knew why she was so happy except her employees, it was quite infectious as per usual. Both customers and workers alike were getting happier just by looking at her.
On top of that Himiko had started to open up to Aoyama a bit more, which was helping both of them out. She even made a second friend, a female friend at that! It had been a few weeks since she met her when she suddenly got two calls. The first from the girls mother showing a photo that made me cheer for her trying to conquer the Yuri route that is Himiko. The second, made her realize just how far Toga has come in a little over a month, perhaps a happy life was in arms reach for her already.
AT THE BEACH/MEI HOUSE
It was a Saturday and Himiko was taking a day off from the shop, deciding to bring Izuku with her to Dagoba Municipal Beach Park. Even though it had become a trash dump spot for local residence a good part of it was still clean. So she brought Izuku there to play in the ocean, however what they ended up finding instead was a girl with pink hair in braids. She was dressed in the type of overalls you would see a garage mechanic wearing at an auto shop.
While he was playing in the water near me, I pulled out a support item catalogue. It had all the shops that did personal work, she had to go this route as Nezu instructed her to hide her quirk. If they went with her quirk as normal then the Hero Commission Safety Board would find her quite fast. So she had to be labelled as quirkless, however no government support gear shops that UA goes with does work for quirkless heroes.
In fact UA only started allowing quirkless individuals to apply for the last two years, and that was solely due to Nezu. It took him over five years of discussing it at school board meetings to get them to finally agree to it. They probably wanted to shut him up about the topic, so they agreed thinking there was no way for a quirkless to pass the exam. As a result I had to find a place that made good support gear, then have da- Aizawa-sensei tell me if they can be trusted. Whenever a support gear shop, be it government run or private, had to report who they made the gear for and their quirk as well. So they needed to find someone willing to risk pissing off the Hero Commission Safety Board, and have them throw a rig trial for them, to make them an example. Most private labs were free spirited and would be willing to do that, as such she just had to make a few choices and give them to Aizawa in her preferred order he ask them.
Right as she was joking down a few designers, that was when it had happened she noticed her she ran over and started asking so many question. So much so that she lost rack of over half of them at least, after calming down her hyperactive squirrel brain they did introductions. So the pink haired girl was Mei Hatsume, apparently she came here for scrap, metal and parts all the time.
After a few weeks of speaking with her about support gear Himiko decided to tell her the truth. Not ever last detail, but why she could not go the normal channels for support gear acquisitions. To her surprise Mei was happy about this saying she was going to design and make her hero costume herself. After calling Nezu it was decided the next day she would bring one of her inventions to show Nezu and power loader to decided if she would be allowed and therefore guaranteed a spot.
Mei Hatsume was a simple girl, at least in her opinion she was a simple girl in terms of what made her happy. All she needed was to work on her inventions, she always preferred machines to people, despite how lonely she sounded because of that she was not. She did not care for superficial friends, if a relationship was genuine then she would be happy with maintaining it. But only her parents had come to accept what others call her eccentric behavior, so she stuck with machines.
She treasured her machines, all of her creations, so much so that she calls them all baby#?. Most would think she was being uncreative, but to her, it was the greatest and most affectionate name she could ever give a device. When she named them, they became like family to her, indispensable and far too precious to simply trust with strangers. Her parents told her however that if she plans on running her own workshop when she gets older, she will have to learn to part with them.
One Saturday as per usual she went to Takoba Municipal Beach Park to get more supplies for her babies. When she got there she expected to be all alone as per usual, but today there was blond girl and… her green haired little brother? It appeared that she was reading some magazine while he was splashing in the water. At first she opted to ignore her and get to work grabbing parts, when suddenly I noticed what she was reading. It was a support gear catalogue for private's labs, and she was jotting down creator names, as well as equipment.
Thinking she found a potential candidate for a support gear designing buddy, she ran over to her. Unable to hold herself back she asked question after question, at some point she seemed to have lost track. After she calmed her down we exchanged names. "Mei Hatsume! Future CEO of Hatsume Industries." She said shaking the other girls hand vigorously. The blond girl meekly replied with Himiko Aizawa, I guess she was not use to socializing, perfect just another thing we have in common. Her brothers name was Izuku, and he was a precious little cinnamon roll that you just wanted to protect as soon as you saw him.
After talking for a bit it turned out she really knew her stuff, so she invited her and her brother over. She called her mom to get the approval and then we left to my house to where my parents were shocked. They were apparently surprised she brought a friend home, then her dad hung his head when I said we would be hanging out in my support shop. AKA the garage that dad helped me to sound proof and triple reinforce so that my explosions did not damage the house or bother the neighbors.
After telling her how bad I was at sowing despite my quirk zoom, she taught me how while we discussed materials. She had a decent knowledge of metals as well as an abundance of knowledge in threads. As a result a few of my babies I was unable to complete due to the sowing skill I had yet to learn were completed by her. She even helped me to choose better threads for the devices and how to chemically treat them. Her brother was equally excited to watch us build and assist I n testing the least dangerous ones. My parents yelled at me a few times for letting a five year old into a workshop with constant explosions but their mom was ok with it. That being said, Izuku only came over on Saturdays and maybe Sundays, but usually he spent Sundays with their mom.
After a few weeks of her coming over, on a Friday were she was here by herself, she told me not the exact details but more or less why she was going through that catalogue that day. To summarize it, she and her brother were basically being hunted by the Hero Commission Safety Board due to their unique quirks. UA principal was willing to let her in to help her and her brother hide in plain sight. But due to having to lie about her being quirkless the government would refuse to make support gear for her. So she needed to find someone willing to risk their careers to help her.
That was when it came to her, she could build her friend hero costume for her! She would be just a student, as a result she had no career to lose yet if they found out. On top of that, she can now protect her friend through her baby. "Have no fear, The Great Mei Hatsume will make it for you!" She said pointing her thumb at herself. After a few minutes of her arguing how she did not want to risk her friends future Mei had enough.
"There is nothing wrong with having the people who love you help you!" She shouted at Himiko grabbing her shoulders. She started to cry into her shoulder as she hugged her tight, not letting go knowing she would fall down crying. She knew what it was like to be alone, she may not be a hero, but if Himiko had the courage to save others even after what she had been through. Then the least Mei could do was stand by her friend when she needed someone to stand with her.
After a few minutes later that is when she noticed her mother giving her a look from the crack in the partially open door. Smirking like she had the past few weeks asking her how she felt about other girls instead of boys. Mei threw a nearby wrench at her mother causing the door to be closed as she retreated. Himiko was a friend, that was it, she would know if she liked other girls like that… right? In any case after she was done they called the principal and he told her if she wished to design Toga outfit then to bring some of her inventions to UA tomorrow.
AT UA
Mei was nervous to say the least, even with her parents and Himiko with her mother, and brother by her side. Her mouth was dry, so dry that she for once in her life could hardly speak a single word. The reason being… that her idol Power Loader was right in front of her with Nezu, another hero she admired. Power loader made incredible gear and was known around the world as the greatest technological expert. Companies and heroes alike would pay fortunes for him to personally design a single support gear for them. Then there was Nezu, he was so intelligent that it is said there is no one who comes close to him in terms of IQ. Both individuals she worshipped since she was a little girl, now they asked her to impress them.
After they did their greetings Nezu, Power Loader, and a third man who looked like a drug dealer led them to an open field. It was there Mei was going to test her gear but was unable to decide which one to start with. That was when she felt a hand hold one if hers tightly to see Toga was holding it, with her confidence in her she knew she would succeed. She had begun testing one after another until she had no more to offer them as examples. Her parents looked proud of her and that was enough to know that her hard work paid off here today.
Nezu was quite happy when he heard of the perfect solution, if this girl was as talented as he hoped then that is a huge hurdle for them overcome. He did not wish to drag anyone unnecessarily into this, as such the only people who knew of her situation so far were himself, Eraserhead, Sweep Queen, Hound Dog, Recovery Girl, Yuga Aoyama, and now Power Loader. So to find out about a potential student who is gifted as well as an answer to any interference the Hero Commission Safety Board. To say he was ecstatic was an understatement, she also appeared to be nervous infant of us.
If her nerves were this easily shaken then maybe it was best to ask Power Loader to do this himself. When she was clearly unable to decide which one to show them first he was about to call this off. Suddenly though young Himiko was holding her hand and the girl found her courage again. Perhaps this was the better solution after all, they say the more passion the better the job goes.
After all that was shown today I decided that she was the one for Himiko, the others gave silent agreements. Now to tell her the good news and send her home so we can discuss the specifics. "Congratulations Mei Hatsume, you alongside your friend here will both be guaranteed spots in next years course. You for support and her for the hero course." Nezu said getting her to hug Himiko so tightly that she was practically suffocating her friend with her chest.
I chuckled at the sight causing her to become self conscious of her mother and Sweep Queen looks. She quickly broke apart from her friend to glare at them before the two women shuffled a fufufufu. "Now your daughter will be off to a good start when she begins the hero course Aizawa." He said turning to the exhausted looking man along with everyone else. That is when Mei and her parents exclaimed that Aizawa was Himiko father then looked between him and Sweep Queen. As if questioning how he managed to win her over, and why she would marry him when she could do so much better.
Once they left we took this to his office with him, Eraserhead, Hound Dog, and Power Loader as he would be keeping an eye on Mei Hatsume for us once the school year starts. Embarrassingly enough for both of us she asked us for our autographs, apparently she was nervous before because she idolized the two of us. I did not think I would be greeting a fan today, in any case I asked Hound Dog if he thought she could handle what the commission could throw at her. He told us had no doubts she could deal with anything so long as it was for Himiko, also there maybe something else there I would find entertaining.
It would seem some school romance between the hero course and the support course my prove quite possible this upcoming year. As they were leaving his office they bumped into Present Mic and Midnight who asked us why we were here. He let it slip we were evaluating Aizawa daughter friend for the support course next year. Those two exploded when they heard that Aizawa had a daughter and asked him when and why he did not tell them. He glared at Power Loader and Nezu took the chance to scurry away before so he just turned the corner before getting dragged into the explanation.
AT UA (ONE YEAR LATER)
The day Nezu had been waiting for since he was introduced to Himiko Toga, now Himiko Aizawa one year ago had come. Today he would find the talent among the new students that will be gracing the halls of UA soon enough. With them in the exam room was Himiko, a few of the others were about to say no when they brought her in. But when Midnight made her… promise of what would to come to them if they did not Aizawa daughter watch with them they shut up. Oh yeah they told the staff last year and this past year they had been bugging Aizawa non-stop about his secret child he has been keeping from them.
Despite his death glare that usually scares people off, they were unaffected by it when it came to this topic. In fact I did a sort of bring your daughter to work day just to satisfy their curiosity to see her. Which made her quite embarrassed, as she seemed to have some difficulty being the centre of attention at first. Though to be fair she was living in hiding from people for a whole year, worried about getting thrown into Tartarus.
But right now she was being cuddled by Midnight as she kept quiet and watched with us. But when Sweep Queen apprentice who was also her friend appeared on screen she became glued to him. I am sure most attributed it to his belly button laser as it was an eye catching quirk.
