Additional notes to add: This is my first fanfiction, and while I don't consider my grammar to be trash or think my writing will be that bad, but a first experience deal like this is not something where one should expect this to be masterfully written or anything. Now onto the story, feel free to share any thoughts or opinions if you care to and hope you enjoy the story.
Ember`s new plan
It was a fairly quiet night and the towns teenage protector Danny Phantom was on his usual patrol. Sam was out of the country on a long trip with her family and wouldn't be back for awhile and Tucker was as of lately focused on trying to pick up chicks more than usual and therefore wasn't spending much time with Danny lately, leaving the Halfa something he rarely had, time away from his friends. While lost in thought about what he could possibly do by himself, his ghost sense went off bringing his attention back to reality. He searched around and eventually spotted a blue light coming from the cemetery.
Quickly flying over and hiding behind a tree to scope out the situation. He saw none other than Ember McLain, the ghost diva Rockstar that nearly took over the world before by hypnotizing all the teens in the world into becoming obsessed fans of hers thus growing to unbelievable power that he was not even close to matching. If it weren`t for Tucker`s headache inducing singing then she would`ve succeeded. But there was something off here, she was sobbing while standing in front of a grave. Danny felt weird seeing one of his most terrifyingly threatening foes in such a state, he kind of felt bad for her and wanted to try and help. He stepped out from behind the tree and slowly approached but still not getting too close and got her attention. "Ember... um, you okay?"
The ghost`s sobs died down and she wiped away whatever tears might've rolled down her face. She quickly turned around and confronted Danny with a look of rage on her face. "DIPSTICK!" She charged at him while preparing to smash his skull in with her guitar. Danny panicked a little and barely evaded the melee barrage before getting some distance and firing off some ghost rays at Ember. Ember dodged them by flying up high and sending a fist attack from her guitar towards Danny, he shielded himself and then lowered the shield preparing to attack again but Ember had once again closed the distance and this time successfully landing a strike with her guitar swatting him back into a tree, she prepared an attack spell and fired at Danny, the Halfa however dodged to the right and got his barring's back ready to fight some more he charged at her firing off some more ghost rays while closing the distance between them Ember countered his attacks with her own attacks from her guitar but Danny wasn`t trying to use the ghost rays to land a hit rather too keep her in one place where he got closer and prepared his fist to punch her straight in the jaw causing her to stagger backwards, not letting up Danny fired one powerful ghost ray at point black range sending her flying backwards and landing on the ground. Taking the chance to tear the guitar out of her grip and throw it into a tree.
He tried to reason with her. "Ember I don`t wanna fight you, I saw you crying and was wondering why. I want to help you." Ember stared up at him with a scowl on her face, not as visibly angry as before but far from trusting. "AND WHY DO YOU CARE?! We are enemies remember?" She countered. "I... honestly don`t know, I guess... I really shouldn`t care... but I can`t help it even though we are enemies. Please tell me what's wrong." He was hoping that would make her open up. Ember stared at him blankly for about ten seconds before defiantly turning her head and slowly rising to her feat. "If you must know, today is another anniversary of the day I died. Every ghost gets emotional and upset when the anniversary of their death comes and this just happens to be my time. Not like you would understand, while you may be a ghost yes, you still haven`t experienced the misery of death like I have." Danny looks at her with sympathy. "Your right, I don`t understand and I wont pretend to, but I know what it`s like to be sad and have no one to talk to about your problems. If you want to talk about it and maybe get it off your chest, I`ll listen." He spoke with sincerity but still tried to pick his words carefully. At this point Ember wasn`t mad anymore, she was baffled by the fact that her worst enemy just said that to her. Nobody had ever cared about her feelings or offered to listen to her problems, not before she died and not after she died.
At that point she sighed in defeat and started to speak. "My life was not glamorous or wonderful or anything like that. I was some nobody who was always picked on at school. Nobody wanted to be my friend or hang out with me. One day this guy asked me out on a date, he was one of the popular kids at school. Being the optimistic and gullible fool that I was, I accepted in a heartbeat. And so he gave me the address to meet him at, some fancy high class restaurant across town. Later that night I had gotten all dressed up and made my way over to the restaurant. I waited for him but he didn`t show. I was desperate to believe things would finally look up for me so I waited... and waited... and waited some more. Finally I had looked at my phone to see a text from that jerk telling me it was all a joke and it was 3 in the morning. So I made my way back home which was about 2 hours away, when I finally got there I was emotionally and physically burned out and I had passed out on my bed... I never woke up in time to escape when the place mysteriously went down in flames." She told her story to him, Danny stood there in shock. "When I became a ghost... I realized I could get everything I wanted in life... Love, Adoration, Respect. And that`s why I'm aiming for world domination." Her tone gradually went from depressed to bitter as she spoke those words. Danny was dumbfounded at this point, he never would have guessed Ember would have suffered like that.
Without even thinking he hugged her tightly. Ember couldn`t believe it, he was showing her something she wanted for so long and he wasn`t even under her control or anything. He was showing her affection and care. She could feel his warmth radiating off of him and couldn`t help but embrace him back as tears started to stream down her face and she went into a full blown emotional breakdown while he simply held her. After a few minutes she calmed down. "Y`know something ?" She stared right into his eyes as he looked at her. "Hmm?" He hummed questioningly as she had a gentle smile on her face. "Your not so bad afterall." That gentle expression was replaced with one that was unnerving to say the least. An arrogant smirk similar to one she wore when she tried to take over the world now adorned her face accompanied by a look of lust in her eyes. She wrapped her left arm around his waist and her right arm caught the back of his head, before he knew it she had smashed her lips against his own forcefully. Danny`s eyes went wide in shock and disbelief as well as horror. He may have felt sorry for Ember but as far as romantic attraction went, his heart yearned for Sam. Freaking out instantly all sympathy went out the door quickly and he did everything in his power to break free of her grasp which was not easy as Ember had a deathgrip on him. Finally he broke free and backed up several feet, panting for air with a blush on his face. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He shouted while shakily pointing an accusing finger at her. Ember simply looked at him with a look of hurt and confusion. "Why did you pull away?" "Because I don`t love you, I love Sam. I`m only here talking with you because I felt sorry for you and wanted to help you." He answered. "The goth? What can she offer you that I can`t? I`m Ember fucking McLain for the love of god." She questioned. "Sam is my best friend and always has been, she has supported me through thick and thin for many years, that is why I love her." He answered. "She is only human, one day she wont be alive to do that anymore and who knows if she will become a ghost and support you in the afterlife. I however am a ghost and I can be there for you for all of eternity. I have never been had anyone care for me like you just did tonight dipstick." She lunged at him and kissed him again but not as long as she did before. "Be with me Danny. Together we can rule the world, we`ll be unstoppable." Danny was now disappointed. She never had any change of heart, she was still as evil as ever with the intention of taking over the world, he couldn`t deny he felt bad about her life, but what she chose to do in her afterlife was reprehensible in his eyes. He pulled away and flew into the air. "I'm sorry Ember but I can`t return your feelings... and I can`t allow you to take over the world either. I'm the hero remember?" Ember now looked angry again, angrier than ever. "HOW DARE YOU REJECT ME?! IM EMBER MCLAIN. NOBODY SAYS NO TO ME!" She screamed. "Well I just did." With that he flew away. Ember screamed in anger loud enough for the whole entire park to hear her before finally calming down a little to think straight. She looked over at her guitar in the tree and went to retrieve it, she looked at the various knobs on it, her attention focused on the heart knob. A malicious grin appeared on her face. "You will be mine Babypop." Were the last words she said before she teleported to her realm in the ghost zone to formulate her new plan.
So there`s the start of the story. I really love to ship DxE a lot, a lot of DxE stories however in my opinion really make Ember ooc by making her turn good, those stories can most definitely be enjoyable but I think its a pretty old and overused concept, I prefer to keep Ember a villain while still having her end up in a relationship with Danny. Anyways I will probably make this a two chapter story. Stay tuned I guess.
