Clawmark Hill Battle
Melemele Island: Pokémon School
At the Pokémon School, Ash and his friends were having lunch.
As they ate, Ash and Kiawe were talking about battling.
"What's exciting about battling isn't just doing battles. Sometimes, watching someone else battle is a great show too." Kiawe said.
"Well, there's plenty of awesome battles to see at Clawmark Hill!" Ash said.
"Oh yeah, I remember you talking about that place!" Mallow said. "That's the place that Lycanroc used to go to train at night back when it was a Rockruff, right?"
"Uh-huh! I haven't been there much lately, but I'm sure that place is still packed with strong Pokémon eager to test themselves with each other!" Ash replied.
"I've gotta see this place for myself! There's gotta be plenty of strong Pokémon there!" Kiawe said.
"Indeed. Rockruff's main opponent back then was a strong Magmar." Rotom said.
"I would like to see that place too," Lillie said.
"Count me in!" Lana said.
"Me too!" Sophocles said.
"Me three!" Mallow said.
"Alright then, let's all meet up later tonight to check it out!" Ash said, and his friends all agreed.
"What's going on here?" Professor Kukui asked as he came into the room.
"Hey Professor, you remember Clawmark Hill right? We were talking about visiting there." Ash replied. "What do you say, do you wanna come too?"
"Of course! Sounds like a good trip down memory lane." Professor Kukui replied.
However, unbeknownst to everyone present, Team Rocket was eavesdropping on them.
"Did you catch what the twerps were planning?" Jessie asked.
"Sure did! Let's hope they don't mind a little hitch in their plans!" James said.
"That's our chance to nab some primo Pokémon!" Meowth said, and Team Rocket grinned maliciously.
Melemele Island: Clawmark Hill
That night, Ash and his friends, along with Professor Kukui and the Wild Kratts, made their way to Clawmark Hill.
When they got there, there were many Pokémon sparring with each other.
"Whoa, look at them go!" Chris shouted as he watched some Pokémon battle.
"Yeah, I'll say!" Martin said as he watched.
"Ash, why don't you send out your Lycanroc? I'm sure it would like to join in on the nostalgia as well." Professor Kukui suggested.
"Good idea, Professor." Ash said. "Lycanroc, come on out!"
When Lycanroc came out of its Poké Ball, it got excited as it noticed that it was in Clawmark Hill.
Lycanroc then went over to where all the Pokémon were battling, where it came face to face with a Magmortar.
Lycanroc took a look at Magmortar and realized that it was the Magmar it had battled before, now evolved.
The two old rivals looked at each other and they both recognized that the other was looking forward to another battle.
"Look at that. I see a battle about to happen." Aviva said.
"It's a Magmortar!" Kiawe said.
"I bet it's the same Magmar that Lycanroc fought before as Rockruff," Professor Kukui said.
"Then it's a rematch between old rivals!" Jimmy said.
"So, are you gonna give commands to Lycanroc?"Aviva asked.
"No, Clawmark Hill is a place for Pokémon to train on their own. So I'll just observe from the side." Ash replied.
"So exciting!" Rotom said as it began recording.
The battle between Lycanroc and Magmortar got started, and Lycanroc started off with Accelerock, tackling Magmortar dead-on.
Magmortar shook off the attack and fired a Flamethrower, also hitting Lycanroc dead-on.
Lycanroc leaped into the air and came down for a Bite attack, however, Magmortar had a Brick Break prepared.
The two attacks collided, and the collision ended in a draw, as both Pokémon backed up to ready their next move.
Lycanroc then used Stone Edge, to cause a wave of rock pillars to rise towards Magmortar.
Magmortar used Brick Break to stop the last rock pillar and rushed in to hit Lycanroc with Fire Punch.
However, Lycanroc then returned the damage to Magmortar with Counter.
"Those two are both amazing!" Koki said.
"I can see Magmortar has gotten stronger too ever since the last time they duked it out in Close Combat!" Professor Kukui said.
But then, an energy net came down from the sky, ensnaring Lycanroc, Magmortar, and the other Pokémon training.
"What was that?" Lillie asked.
Upon that question, Team Rocket revealed themselves to be the guilty party aboard their balloon.
"You guys again?" Sophocles asked.
"Yes, us again!" James said.
"Now that we've got a whole load of strong Pokémon, you won't have to see us for long!" Jessie said.
"Not on our watch!" Chris said.
"Let's go, bro!" Martin said.
"Activate Peregrine Falcon Power!" Chris and Martin activated Peregrine Falcon Power to go after Team Rocket.
"We've got company!" Meowth reported.
"This'll stop them! Mareanie, you're up! Spike Cannon!" James sent out Mareanie, and as usual, she latched onto his head, poisoning him. "Save it for later! You've got work to do!"
Mareanie fired
"Whoa, close one!" Martin said as he dodged the attack.
"Let's get out of the range and stoop!" Chris said, and the two flew high above into the sky.
Then, the two came down for a stoop, descending at speeds of 200 mph, and making a tear in the balloon along the way.
Then, Team Rocket and the captive Pokémon started falling.
"Braviary, Steel Wing!" Professor Kukui sent out Braviary to have him cut the net apart with his wings.
The captive Pokémon were then able to land safely as Team Rocket continued to fall.
"Quick, deploy backup!" Jessie ordered.
Wobbuffet saluted and cried out in confirmation and pressed a switch, revealing a second Meowth balloon to stop their fall.
"This oughta make the odds back in our favor!" Jessie said as she sent out Mimikyu.
Mimikyu quickly launched a Shadow Ball at Pikachu, who dodged as Mimikyu fired some more.
"Mareanie, Sludge Bomb!" Mareanie spat out globs of sludge at the heroes.
"Togedemaru!" Sophocles called out, and Togedemaru stepped up to block the attack, unaffected by Sludge Bomb due to her Steel typing.
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu aimed a Thunderbolt at the balloon, shocking it and sending Team Rocket crashing down to the ground.
Lycanroc and Magmortar then joined in on the fight, with the two glancing towards each other in respect for each other's strength as they used Stone Edge and Rock Slide on Team Rocket.
Team Rocket freaked out and tried to have Wobbuffet use Counter to block, but it was too late as the attacks hit, sending them all into the sky.
Some distance away, Bewear was ready with Stufful by her side as she made the leap to catch Team Rocket and head back to her den.
"We're off with a new blast…" Team Rocket grumbled as they were carried away.
Back in Clawmark Hill, the heroes were amazed at Lycanroc and Magmortar attacking together to send Team Rocket flying.
"Lycanroc and Magmortar were really in sync!" Kiawe said.
"They're not only great rivals but also good teammates!" Mallow said.
"I'll say, they really handed a Double Hit to Team Rocket!" Professor Kukui said.
Then, Lycanroc and Magmortar resumed their battle, as the heroes watched with even more interest.
