Melemele Island: Pokémon School

After recent events at the Altar of the Sunne, the heroes returned to the Ultra Guardians base to ponder about their situation.

Pikachu in particular, was sad about his good friend's disappearance as he held onto Ash's hat that was retrieved sometime after he was taken away.

The same sentiment was shared by Snowy, who was worried about Lillie.

"So what can we do? That crack wasn't an Ultra Wormhole, and I'm not sure if anyone else but Drakkor Ferros can open it up." Mallow said.

"With that, I'm afraid the probability of a rescue operation is 0%," Rotom gloomily said.

"No! I won't just stand around like this. We have to save Ash and Lillie, along with Solgaleo and Lunala!" Gladion said.

Then, the Aether Foundation staff, along with Professor Kukui and Samson Oak came into the room.

"We just found out what happened! Oh, poor Lillie and Ash! They've been taken away by some monster to who-knows-what kind of world! I hope they'll be alright!" Lusamine cried out.

"And that's why we're trying to look into that other phenomenon and try to devise a way to replicate it ourselves," Professor Burnet said.

"We already tried opening it at the Altar of the Sunne with the Ultra Wormhole gear, but this is something completely different from Ultra Wormholes," Wicke said.

"A dire situation indeed. That's why time is of the essence." Samson said.

"Well, here's a start. Back at the Altar of the Sunne, I made sure to get an energy reading of the rift." Aviva said. "Maybe we can figure out a way to replicate it."

"Yes, we just might be able to do that. Let's get to work on it right away." Faba said.

"Then there's no time like the present!" Koki said, and the adults went to work on the solution, but Chris and Martin stayed with the kids.

"I'd normally say everything will be fine, but I can't help but be worried myself," Chris said.

"Yeah, I just hope we can get there in time," Martin said.

Ultra Space: Unknown world

Meanwhile, in the unknown world, Ash woke up as he heard Lillie's voice calling his name. "Ash? Ash? Ash!"

Ash woke up to see Lillie with her hair back down in its usual style. "Lillie?"

"You're okay!" Lillie shouted in relief.

"Where are we?" Ash asked as he looked around to see that they were in a prison cell.

"When I woke up, we were here," Lillie replied. "All our Pokémon, Z-Rings, Z-Crystals, and Burst Hearts are gone. Even our communicators."

"What?" Ash asked then he checked his wrist for the Z-Power Ring which was gone and searched himself for his Pokémon and belongings, but he had nothing. "Where are they?!"

"They must have been taken when we were captured," Lillie said.

"We've gotta get out of here!" Ash said as he tugged on the bars, to no avail.

"Don't bother," Drakkor Ferros's voice said. Ash and Lillie looked around to see Drakkor Ferros himself.

"It's you!" Ash said.

"Why are you doing bad things to Alola, its people and Pokémon?" Lillie asked.

"Everything is for the sake of our great ruler. All for his awakening and his visions for his ideal reality." Drakkor Ferros said.

"Even though a lot of people are gonna suffer, you don't care?" Ash asked.

"That's right. Everything but Lord Malummox and his goals is superfluous." Drakkor Ferros replied. "Accept it that Lord Malummox will be the ruler of all!"

"You won't get your way! Even if we can't, our friends will stop you!" Lillie said.

"Nothing can stop me. I will crush anyone who tries!" Drakkor Ferros said before leaving.

Later, sometime after Drakkor Ferros left, Lillie noticed something.

"Hey, Ash! Look over there!" Lillie pointed towards a sword outside the cell that seemed to be within reaching distance.

"Whoa, nice spotting Lillie! I think I can reach that." Ash reached for the sword and successfully grabbed it.

With a few swings of the sword, Ash managed to break through the bars of the cells.

"That did it!" Ash said.

As the two were getting ready, with Lillie about to put her hair back up into a ponytail as her usual Ultra Guardian look, an alarm rang.

"Uh-oh. It looks like they already know." Ash said and got out through the opening.

Needing to leave quickly, Lillie just left her hair as-is and followed Ash.

The two ran down a hallway and turned to another passage on the right when they spotted some guards running towards them from the front.

The guards ran past the two and they breathed a sigh in relief.

"They'll be back soon. We have to keep moving." Ash said.

"And we better find our Pokémon and other things too," Lillie added.

Then, when they saw the coast was clear, Ash and Lillie made a run for it.

"So, any idea where we should go next?" Ash asked.

"Let me think…" Lillie said, and she felt something. "To the left!"

Ash and Lillie turned at their next left and headed straight. "Keep going." The two continued to run straight. "The second door on the right!"

When the duo entered the room, there were: a Burst Heart, Ash's Z-Power Ring, some of Ash and Lillie's Z-Crystals, and four Poké Balls.

"Wow, Lillie! That was some good sensing!" Ash complimented.

"Yes, but unfortunately it seems that they were clever enough to not put all our confiscated items and Pokémon in the same place, meaning we'll have to keep looking.

Lillie claimed the Burst Heart and confirmed that it was hers.

"So that's what it was," Lillie said.

"What was what?" Ash asked.

"Well, I was able to lead us here because of a strange feeling that led us here. And now, I can confirm that strange feeling came from my Burst Heart." Lillie replied.

"Whoa, so you were able to feel where your Burst Heart was?!" Ash asked.

"Yes. You should try it too, Ash." Lillie said.

"Okay, here goes!" Ash tried to sense his Burst Heart and after a few seconds of searching, he tracked down where it was. "I see it! Let's go!"

"Here, Ash!" Lillie gave Ash a mini Burst Heart for him to use until he could get his back.

"Thanks! Okay, now we're ready!" Ash said.

Ash and Lillie checked the Poké Balls they found and they contained Greninja, Magearna, Incineroar, and Florges.

"Burst!" Ash and Lillie used Burst to combine with Greninja and Magearna.

Then, Ash, Lillie, Incineroar, and Florges all went on their way to track down Ash's Burst Heart, Ash and Lillie's other Pokémon, and the rest of their paraphernalia.
