Melemele Island: Pokémon School

Down in the Ultra Guardians base, the Aether Foundation staff, along with Aviva and Koki, had hit a breakthrough on their research into Drakkor Ferros's dimensional rift.

"Finally! Now we can devise a method of replicating that rift ourselves!" Professor Burnet said.

"With that, we can go save Ash and Lillie!" Aviva said.

"I'd say not a moment too soon," Koki added.

Jimmy notified the Ultra Guardians of this and soon, everyone headed back to the Altar of the Sunne.

Poni Island: Altar of the Sunne

At the Altar of the Sunne, Professor Burnet's Ultra Wormhole machine was set up and its settings were adjusted, then Faba connected another machine to it.

"Okay, everyone. In order to get this running, first, it'll require some Z-Power from your Z-Moves, so give it all you've got." Faba explained.

"Let's go!" Kiawe said, starting his Z-Move pose, as Mallow, Sophocles, Lana, and Gladion followed suit.

"Inferno Overdrive! Bloom Doom! Gigavolt Havoc! Oceanic Operetta! Breakneck Blitz!"

Marowak, Tsareena, Togedemaru, Primarina, and Silvally unleashed their Z-Power at Faba's machine, which absorbed the Z-Power and sent it to the Ultra Wormhole machine, causing it to power up and fire a beam towards the sky.

After a moment of anticipation, Drakkor Ferros's dimensional rift was successfully opened up.

"It worked!" Wicke said.

"Okay, it's time for us to go!" Gladion said.

"Be careful, everyone. We all have faith in you." Lusamine said.

Then, the Ultra Guardians mounted their Ride Pokémon, along with Garchomp and Altaria, and the Wild Kratts got into the Tortuga and headed into the rift.

Ultra Space: Unknown world

Back in the unknown world, Ash and Lillie were wandering around Drakkor Ferros's lair.

"Ash, how close are we to your Burst Heart?" Lillie asked.

"Still got plenty more to go!" Ash replied. "Take the third left!"

Ash and Lillie took the former's direction, however, there happened to be some guards who quickly spotted them.

"Well, I guess this was inevitable. Let's go!" Ash said.

"Right behind you!" Lillie said in confirmation.

"Water Shuriken!" Ash took the giant Water Shuriken from his back and threw it at the guards.

"Fleur Cannon!" Lillie opened her hands and fired a pink beam at the guards.

After all the guards were dealt with, the two continued on their way.

"Okay, we're getting close… that room over there!" Ash said, pointing to the door straight ahead.

Once inside the room, Ash and Lillie found Ash's Burst Heart, Lillie's Z-Power Ring, the rest of their Pokémon and Z-Crystals, along with their Creature Pods and Ultra Guardians wrist-comm.

"Okay, that's everything!" Ash said.

"Now we should call our friends and let them know that we're fine!" Lillie suggested.

"Good idea! They must be worried sick." Ash said, and he tried his Creature Pod, but all he got was static.

Lillie tried using her wrist-comm, but that didn't work either.

"Weird, why is it not working?" Ash said.

"There must be something here that's jamming our communications," Lillie guessed.

"Well, that sucks. I guess we'll have to stop that too." Ash said.

But then, an alarm rang, alerting the two.

"They must know we're here! We have to get moving!" Lillie said.

"Right!" Ash said, and the two left the room.

Meanwhile, outside the lair, the Ultra Guardians and the Tortuga had arrived through the dimensional rift.

"Whoa, is this where Ash and Lillie are?" Mallow asked as she looked around.

"They're most likely in that fort," Kiawe said, pointing toward

"Let's contact them," Lana said as she tried calling on her wrist-comm only for it to fail. "It's not working."

"The Creature Pod isn't getting through either," Martin said.

"There must be something jamming the comms in there!" Sophocles said.

"We can't let that stop us! We need to find Ash and Lillie!" Gladion said.

"Yeah, we went in blind into enemy lairs plenty of times! Let's go!" Chris said.

Pikachu and Snowy were especially eager to get in there and find Ash and Lillie.

Then, the heroes all entered the lair.

Meanwhile, back in the lair, Ash and Lillie were on the run from some guards.

"Man, they just keep coming!" Ash said.

"Let's try to slow them down again!" Lillie suggested.

"Trump Card!" Lillie created several pink-glowing cards of energy and launched them at the guards.

"Extrasensory!" Ash unleashed a rainbow-colored beam of psychic energy at the guards.

With the current wave of guards defeated, Ash and Lillie continued to wander, looking for a way out.

Then, out of nowhere, Ash and Lillie ran into their friends.

"Ash, Lillie! You're okay!" Kiawe said.

"Yeah, we managed to escape and found our way around," Ash said, and he and Lillie told their friends of how they escaped and everything else afterward.

Pikachu and Snowy ran up to their Trainers and shared a welcoming embrace, and Pikachu returned Ash's hat to him.

"My hat! Thanks, buddy." Ash said as he took his hat back.

"Well, I guess we can say Rescue Mission accomplished," Chris said.

"Not yet. We still have to save Solgaleo and Lunala." Lillie interjected.

"Lillie's right. Drakkor Ferros wouldn't have taken them captive just because. He's probably planning to use them for his schemes." Gladion said.

"Yeah, we better find them too!" Mallow said.

Ash put his hat on and adjusted it while Lillie put her hair back into a ponytail like they were getting pumped up in preparation for something big.

"To the Solgaleo and Lunala Rescue!" Chris and Martin announced.

Then, the heroes continued on their way to look for Solgaleo and Lunala.

Meanwhile, in Drakkor Ferros's chamber, he saw the recent events transpire.

"What foolish beings. They believe they can wreak havoc in my own lair and expect to succeed in their 'rescue' mission." Drakkor Ferros said. "Very well, I shall teach them the errors of their judgment personally."
