(Hey guys back on this. The pace is gonna slow down but will not get any better from here on out. It's just gonna be a mess with stuff. I have notes for advance in the story. And it's gonna be heavy stuff. Also I figured out the height problem for the three males. Kou in the anime is slightly taller than Yashiro, so Jaden is her height while Yugi is slightly shorter than both Yashiro and Jaden, just reaching their shoulders.

Also anyone wondering about Hanako? He's in between Yashiro and Kou in height in the anime. As for Alister he's not as tall as Joey or Teru but he's probably 5 inches taller than yugi so probably 2 inches taller than Kou at the least.)

Chapter 12 Recovery

'A creme haired girl cried out as she screamed her dress torn in places feeling the bruises set in from the rough grabbing, her head still throbbed from the impact in the car window when she was taken.

She felt herself being tied up and raised in the air on a chain as she looked down at the cruel men who had batted her tears fell down her face as she slowly slipped into unconsciousness'

The all too familiar dream woke the long haired girl with a start as she screamed. "N-nooo!" Tears had fell down her face while she slept. She looked down. She realized she was in an unfamiliar bed a needle in her arm and her vitals being taken. 'A hospital... how'd I get here..?' The last thing she could remember was being in Yugi's friends car taking her home when everything went black.

She heard a knock on the door as she looking towards the right of the bed. "Y-yes?" She called out, it opened to reveal her mom and Yugi. "M-mom! Muto-Kun!" She blinked away her tears as she smiles happily as her mom gave her a small hug. Yugi smiled looking at her. "How you feeling..?"

She smiled her eyes gleaming as she looked at her friend. "I'm feeling a little better. How long have I been out?" Her mother brushed her hair out of her face her eyes joyful. She sat in the chair next to the bed. "Only since last night it's Monday. Oh that reminds me I gotta go call your school." She steps out into the hall way while Yugi scooted closer.

"I'll tell Hanako what happened. Also take this. Kou will come by after school to help you with it." He passes her his cousin's tablet. Him and Kou's plan was for them to video call from the school and Hospital so Hanako could see that she was alright. (Now idk if he shows up on video cause on pictures he's a black blurr in the manga)

"Yugi-kun.." she spoke his first name tentatively. His eyes light up as he smiles hearing her say his first name. "Will you stop by the bakery and get donuts and keep them with you till you see Hanako at lunch? Tell him everything will be explain after school. Get plain donuts for him. He loves them." Yugi looked surprised.

He didn't realize a ghost like Hanako had a favorite sweet. He nodded his head. "You take care Yashiro. Kou will see you after school. He went on ahead with Jaden to get him settled in." She nods looking down at the tablet. Yugi got up with his school bag and gave her head a slight pat.

"I'll see you later." She waved as he left her room and the Hospital waving goodbye to her mom as he walked out.

It was nearly 7:20 as he finally made it to the closest bakery to school. He walked inside, ordered the plain donuts she told him to get, folded the bag up tightly and dropped the bag in his school bag before paying the lady. On the way to school Yami joined him in his spirit form and smiled.

"Mind if I walk us to school in case anything ridiculous happens again for the 4th time.." Yugi chuckled at his partners words. In any case the two switch places as Yami who was also dressed in the off white uniform with his black leather buckle tank top underneath.

The two of them found a corner just near the school gate when Yami paused hearing Yugi's name being called. "Muto Yugi!" He turned to see a girl with thick long orange hair, deep magenta eyes and a semi fake scowl on her face. He could tell the girl was faking it and that it wasn't her normal expression.

"Is something wrong?" Yami wasn't sure what grade the girl was in nor the two girls next to her were in but the three ran over one was carrying a plate of cookies which looked nice and warm.

"These are for you! What you did last night with Minamoto-kouhai and the the new student was amazing!" One girl held her phone out to him. A video was playing if the earlier morning news which Yugi himself had missed to be at the hospital.

"I missed the news this morning. I was visiting Yashiro." He took the phone from the girl holding on to his bag as the video played.

"A break through last night occurred when the police was called in to the warehouse next door to Misscu Topless bar. Reports and eyewitnesses last night and a delayed reporter caught the officers after the even. Apparently this Warehouse was the secret hideout for The Red Jackals who unknowingly to anyone were the ones behind the Abduction of 16 year old Yashiro Nene a local Hight school student who had been taken off the street just down the street from the school the night before."

"Another eyewitness states that he saw a station wagon pull up near the warehouse and 6 males snuck into the warehouse, set off Fireworks in the warehouse and had attempted to escape with the kidnapped victim before the police caught them." Pictures of Yugi and his friends were plastered on the news.

"According to Tokyo school records 4 of these boys are students in the local high school and middle school of Kamome Acadmeu while two of them hail from Domino city. Another fact was revealed that new arrival to the city Muto Yugi was a former student of Domino high. It's easy to see and believe that these 6 teenagers took it upon themselves to get involve and rescue their friend. By word of Sergent Alexander Brig who actually stopped the students, came to the realization his words alone here. 'These are some dedicated friends. Never in 25 years of my duty to the police department have I seen such reliable tactful and thought out scem to rescue someone. They knew exactly what they were doing. If we had not arrived nobody would even know what took place tonight.'" The video ended, Yami was amazed by the report.

"You, Minamoto-kouhai, the new student and Tsuchi-San are hero's at the school!" The girl took her phone back as the other one hummed to the orange haired girl handed him the plate of cookies, before the three ran off towards the school.

Yami blinked his eyes as he started walking towards the gate, the attention got worse as he walked everyone cheering or cat calling to him. "Yugi! Yugi!" Yugi's spirit right next to the pharaoh turned bright red.

"How embarrassing... just wait till Yashiro comes tomorrow.." he sweats. Yami gets the two of them to the school doors. Before he opened the door someone jumped on his back. "Yugi-kun!" Jaden's cheery disposition echoed in his voice as he called his name.

Kou noticed that it was Yami who was present instead of his cousin as he winked at the spirit who nodded. "Good morning Jaden. Did Itoko help you set up with class?" He turns to face the 13 year old as he let go of his back. Jaden nodded excitedly, "This place is so amazing! Kou-Kun said I can join you guys for lunch right?" Yami looked to Kou's teal eyes.

"Did he tell you what makes this school so special?" Jaden cocked his head slightly. "Ah you mean all the death around here?" His words jolted Kou and Yami. "Ya! Ya! Not like that. I can't see anyone. More like... I can hear them talking. This place is buzzing about what happened." Yami looked amazed.

This boy was gifted to an extend, it's no wonder when he himself first came back out of the puzzle that he couldn't feel any kind of spiritual power from the brunette. "Anyway, Yugi! How was Yashiro? Did you give her the tablet?" He nodded knowing what Kou was taking about.

He gestured to the cookies in his hands. "You two want some..?" Jaden jumped to it grabbing two stacks of four. "Ohhhh my Gawd. These are amazing! We're so stupidly famous and I just came to this school!" The 10 minute bell rang as the two middle schooler took off running Kou ahead of Jaden as he didn't want to drop his cookies as he kept up.

Yami switched with Yugi just before the two made it into the classroom as he saw the mass on Yashiro's desk.

On her desk were some small flowers a stack of get well soon cards and baked goods. "You guys went over board..." ironically that's what Yugi had thought but the words had come from Akane-kun who was astonished as he was at the display.

"Muto-Kun!" Yugi was met with a hug from Aoi. "Thank you so much for saving Nene-Chan! I-is she okay?" The purple eyes belonging to the girl were tearful. She was clearly worried about her best friend.

He took her hand gently and smiled. "She's alright, she's at the hospital if you want to visit her late with my cousin and Jaden." She nods happily.

"We will then! I know Akane will want to come! He was just as worried as I was when we saw the news this morning!" Soon Yugi could feel the awkward hug from behind of Alister as he was lifted off his feet. "Mmm! Morning Yugi-kun!~" he cheered hugging the shorter male. Yugi turned bright red from the sudden affection by the red haired male.

"Tsuchi! Put him down!" Akane bellowed jabbing his finger at the red head who pouted by set Yugi to his feet but didn't let him go from the hug. The redhead stuck his tongue out at the male pouty. Yugi looked towards his desk and had a bit of a panicky reaction when he saw Hanako sitting on his desk a sort of a cold glare.

He didn't look happy. The was the first grim reaction he's ever seen out of the little time Yugi's known the almost happy hour lucky ghost. Despite reading about his death. Yugi sweats a little. If he hadn't known Hanako was a ghost he would've called out to him naturally as if he was alive.

"What are you doing here?!" He hissed when his classmates left him alone to get seated. Yugi pushing him off his desk but the ghost sat in Yashiro's empty desk. "Where. Is. She?" His smile grew venomous as he looked at him.

"C-calm down Hanako...I-ill explain..," before he could continue the teacher came in slammed his planner on the podium and started to take attendance. The teacher took notice of Yashiro's empty desk, yugi's knowing look before whistling at the amethyst eyed male to come to the front. He walked over to the teacher as he muttered.

"How is Miss Yashiro?" Yugi nodded. "She's in the hospital sir. After the events that took place she passed out in my friends car." Only yugi could feel the tremor behind him. Yugi sweat profusely as with bag still in hand he dashed out the door in seconds an angry black haired ghost chased him not far behind.

"Let me explain!!!" He cried out, the halls nearly empty as nobody could see the specter chase him down the hall and up the stairs. Yami right next to him equally disturbed about Hanako's abrupt emotional upset.

"Get back here then!" Hanako cried out, Yugi still panicked look at the ghost behind his back as he ran. "Not till you calm down!" Yugi ran up the stairs and threw open the large roof doors as he ran into the roof nearly tripping as he flipped over. He nearly ran off the edge as he screamed, grabbing the rail just before he went over.

"Yugi!" Hanako and Yami cried out as the short male held his grip on the rail. Hanako grabbed Yugi's shirt pulling his arm. "Agh!" Yugi gripped tighter on the rail as he reached for Hanako's hand. Yugi tried to touch the roof abled to get his feet on the ledge of the roof. Hanako yanked him over with Yami's assistance, the teen crashing into the two ghosts.

Yugi felt wetness on his shoulder seeing Hanako grip his shirt tightly not looking up. "Gomen...Gomenasai..." his voice choked up. Yugi sighed rubbing the back of his shirt. "You didn't mean for that to happen..." his touch was comforting to Hanako, so much the amber eyed boy ghost wrapped his arms around his neck crying into his shoulder openly for his mistake.

He was upset and scared, and only two people in the whole school can tell him what happened to his assistant. Yugi let Hanako stay that way even though he was sure he'd get detention later.

After finally calming the boy Ghost down with the cookies he got from the girls that morning the two sat down along with Yami and did some idle chatting, "So you mean to tell me that just after you left here Saturday Yashiro was daunted around the corner from the school? And that this boy Jaden you met earlier that day was nearly run over by the same car that took her?"

Yugi nodded assuredly. Hanako cupped his cheek sighing. He felt completely helpless when it involved the outside world. He couldn't do much from inside the school and most of the time it irked him.

A bell eventually rang out which shocked Yugi. "Oh my god it's lunch time already. Kou should be coming soon." With that thought in mind he dug into his bag.

"Hanako. I visited Yashiro-San at the hospital. She felt bad she couldn't come today, so she sent me to get you these." He hands the ghost the simple white paper bag. The ghost opens it inquisitively as his amber eyes light up and a smile sprouted from his face. "Yay! Donuts!" He grins happily at Yugi.

In that moment the roof door opened up to two sweaty panting boys. "Boy that's a long way to go just to eat lunch. Oh! Yugi-kun!" Jaden called out grinning as Kou who was equally excited ran over first with the slightly shorter male behind him.

Hanako looked at Jaden with curiosity. "So this is Young Yuki-San?" Jaden skidded to a stop and looked around. "Yugi-kun is there a ghost with you?" Hanako looked intrigued this time around looking at the boy as he waved his hand in front of his face. "Wow! You can't see me but you can hear me. A strange one you are Jaden Yuki." Jaden looked in front of him blinking in surprise.

"Are you guys friends with a ghost?" He chuckles sitting down as Kou explains. "The ghost your hearing Jaden is the 7th wonder of the school. Hanako-San of the toilet." Jaden not getting it but clearly trying speaks up.

"Nice to meet you my Toilet man!" Yami coughed out a laugh hard trying to cover it up as Yugi sent his spirit friend a scowl for laughing at a bad pun.

Jaden chuckled making the ghost in question snicker. "That was so awful!" Jaden laughed louder holding his head. "That's what I was hoping! Hahaha!" The two laughed for a while. Kou and Jaden helped Yugi to explain what lead to Yashiro being in the hospital and not at school.

They went into detail about their great rescue mission that enamored the ghost in excitement. "Sougoi! You have such cool friends Yugi!" He wasn't used to hearing the Dark haired ghost call him by name so he smiled at him which made the ghost look away embarrassed.

"We have something for you after school Hanako. Yugi-Kun will be here to show you while me and Kou are going to deliver Yashiro her stuff." Jaden explained towards the end of lunch as the three of them headed back to class waving bye to the floating ghost who was deeply curious as he ate his donuts happily.

The day was finished as Kou and Jaden took Yashiro's wishes and goodies to take her to the hospital while Yugi waited out his time until he got the message to show Hanako the tablet. He knew Hanako was sitting out on the roof as he told him to during lunch.

He still had the rest of the cookies from before that a classmate gave him. 'I still have time. Might as well have a nice chat.' He pushed opened the door to the roof and walked out the breeze hits him first. It's kinda nice for December it's not too cold yet, but the air was biting almost. He walked over to Hanako who was busy staring up into the late afternoon sky.

"Hanako." Yugi called as the cap wearing ghost looked at him. Hanako gave a small smirk. "I'm here like you told me. What's the surprise?" Yugi shook his head before putting the plate of cookies next to the ghost before sitting down next to him.

"Not just yet. Don't worry. Enjoy some of these tho. A student gave them to Yami this morning to enjoy. Hope you like peanut butter." Hanako oohed the plate before taking one and nearly stuffed it in his mouth a smile forming on his face happily. "Mmmm."

Yugi heard a ding on his phone and looked down.

'We're ready.' It read from Kou. Yugi took the tablet from his bag, booted it up and selected Kou's call contact on a messaging app on the tablet. According to Kou this is the app he and his brother use to talk to their dad when he's away so both brothers have their exchanged information on the app.

It started to ring as Kou's face appeared on the screen. "It works! Hai Itoko! Ready?" Yugi nodded before poking Hanako in the shoulder a smile framing the boys face as he saw the Ghost nearly stuff half the plate of cookies in his mouth.

"Hanako, finish chewing. Your surprise is here." Hanako's amber eyes light up as he wiped his mouth with the napkin that covered the cookies as he looked at the tablet in Yugi's hands with confusion. "This is called a tablet. And right now I'm in a video call with Kou. And he's got someone who wants to see you." Yugi looked down at the screen at kou nodding.

"1...2.. 3!" At the same time the boys revealed the tablets to their intended targets as Amber eyes met Ruby eyes on the screen. The two in question, screamed in surprise. "Ahh! Hanako-Kun!"

"Ahh! Yashirooo!" The two individuals slight up big smiles on their faces.

"Your okay!" Hanako cried out seeing the bandage on the girls head. His fears and despair he had earlier faded away seeing his Assistant and friend okay and safe in the hospital. "Yugi-Kun told you.. Gomenasai, Hanako-kun..." the girl held the tablet in her hands as she tears up.

Hanako felt bad he couldn't give his assistant a hug. Someone there patted her head. "So that's what he looks like. Nice to finally see you Hanako." Jaden spoke up peeking into the video call with a smile.

Hanako chuckled. "Hai that's me. Guess you can't see me directly." Yashiro smiled as well brushing Jaden off as she looked back at the tablet. "Yugi-Kun I know your there. Thank you for setting this up." Hanako looked at the male next to him who was smiling while hugging his knees.

"I know that if it was me and yami in your situation I know you'd do the same thing for us." Hanako's smile grew as he pulled Yugi close by the arm so the two were looking into the video call together.

"Mhm we would!" Hanako grinned his eyes shut automatically with how wide the smile got. Yashiro smiled as her heart warmed seeing the two smiling males together in the call. In a sense this was their recovery from the awful event. For these 5 they hoped it stayed that way, just for a little while.

Soon after everything was done and the cookies were finished. Yugi left a very full tired ghost in the girls bathroom. And he walked down the hall heading towards the stairs, a familiar black smoke erupted around him from Tsukasa's ghostly orbs, his Kokujoudai. Yugi looked up from the smoke to see the ghostly twin hover in front of him. "Yuuugi-kuuun~" he said cheerily. His voice made Yugi's blood go cold.

"Y-yes, Tsukasa..?" His voice wavered as he tried to remain calm in front of the more devious Yugi sibling. "You have questions, burning questions. I can tell from the look on your face." The yellow amber eyed male looked him over, his more sharper teeth pulled into a grin.

His face was close to Yugi's making him a little nervous as the ghost jumped onto him wrapping his legs around his waist and his arms around his neck and chest. "Yaaay!~" the action cause Yugi by surprised and nearly made him scream which Tsukasa covered his mouth. "Shhhh..~ I know you want to know about them.. the Tsuchi siblings." Yugi's eyes widen as he relaxed slightly in the ghost's grip.

"I can take you to a place where you can connect to the past and see everything as it happened." Yugi looked up as he saw Yami watch this unfold. Against someone as dangerous an threatening as Hanako's brother, as much as it pained the ancient spirit he had to let Yugi take control of the situation. Yugi nodded which made Tsukasa release his hold on his mouth.

"You can make that happen, Tsukasa.." his conviction was form but his voice was anxious. The ghost chuckled in his ear still not letting him go. "Let's slip away into the shadows, Yuugi-kuun~." Before Yami could react Yugi was gone in a flash enveloped in Tsukasa's ghostly smoke as all that was left in the place of the two was Yugi's millennium puzzle as the light of the now rosed moon cast over the abandoned possession.

Since Yugi was no longer there Yami was forced back into the puzzle as he looked up at his labyrinth in disbelief. 'Yugi I sure hope your right about this..'
