Chapter 14 Past Mistakes

Black. Dark was all Yugi could see or even feel. It's like he had gone blind. But no it was that dark he couldn't even see the ghost in front of him. After the ghost wisked him away leaving behind the millennium puzzle, he had been shrouded in the dark since, that he eventually lost consciousness.

"Y-" he strained to hear. Everything was muffled. It's like the shadows covered his ears making him feel deaf until he heard a familiar voice echo in his memory.

(This scene wasn't present early on)

"Don't give up Yugi.." Yami spoke as he deflected the scissors for the third time as Yugi threw the arm into the pray house as both the scissors and the dolls vanish without a trace as the large double gate doors opened.

"Yami! Your bleeding..!" Yugi held his partner close as the spirit nearly crumbled to his knees. The shorter male pulled his spirit friend up onto his back his arms hanging over him as his legs dangling by his thighs.

"Yugi…" the spirit urged quietly as he leaned into the shorter young male's back. He carried him up the stairs as the two sat down and rest under some junk as ripped Yami's shirt to see the damage.

"This looks bad…" Yami sighed and rubbed his friends face gently. "It doesn't, I would do it again for you anyway, Yugi." He smiled a bit as his pouting friend.

Yugi opened his eyes to see Tsukasa hovering above his face. "Aaaaaaaaahhhh!" He sat up so fast the two hit their heads on each other making a loud Thunk noise as Tsukasa held his face. "Owwwwwie why is your head so hard, Yuuuugi!" The ghost pouts whining.

Yugi crashed his head back on the ground groaning holding his face. "Aghhh… that hurt so bad…" he looked around while in pain. "Where are we..?" Tsukasa quit holding his head to give a bewitching but creepy smile.

"This is the Nothing. It's also known as a boundless boundary. It has no owner yet exists. Dimensions, past and future connect with this. All through these doors. But this door," Tsukasa pushed Yugi towards. It looked like one of the doors from the old building.

"I need you to correct a mistake I did. I need you to prevent myself from killing someone . So that they dont become what they are now and he doesn't fall into deeper debt with a demon."

'A demon..?! Is that how he's still at the high school age while his sister has been dead over 50 years..?!' His thoughts race.

"You think I can stop you when you were alive..?" Yugi's eyes twitch slightly looking at the ghost in front of him. His expression changed a bit as he touched Yugi's face, who just narrowed his eyes slightly at the male.

"These eyes here, they aren't fearful like Amane's. You'd have the courage to stop me before I poison her." His ghostly hand left the boys face as he pushed him towards the door.

"Take the first step Muto Yugi. Your existence here will be temporarily be removed…" Tsukasa faded away in the dark as Yugi turned his attention to the door in front of him.

His hand reached towards the door knob as he slowly turns it and pushes it open. He held his other hand to his chest not sure what to expect.

The door swing open away from him. He looks inside to see the late afternoon sky the sunset showing in the window, a chalk board to the right on the wall with the date August 6th 1969.

"So Im really in the past…" the door shuts behind him as he looks around. The desks were empty, the windows large and open. The cool autumn breeze came through the window as he looked around the room.

He could hear a quiet ragged breathing and subtle movement in the curtains as he walks carefully over to the curtains as he pulled it open. On the floor holding his legs close and in tears was a damaged Amane Yugi.

Fresh wounds covered his face and arms and old bandages littered his arms that were falling apart. His amber eyes froze in fright at the movement yugi made to open the curtain.

"Please.. don't.." he covered his face having not realized it wasn't his abuser but someone else. Yugi's amethyst eyes widen seeing his ghost friend in human flesh, but covered in injuries and bandages.

"A-amane…" the name fell from his lips as The dark haired boy looked up as his tears spilled from his eyes. "W-who are you..?" Yugi's mouth goes dry as he got on his knees next to the male. "Don't be scared. I'm a friend. I won't tell him where you are." Amane's eyes blinked away the tears as the fright started to leave his eyes, replaced with hesitation.

"Can you stand, Amane..?" The dark hair male nodded as Yugi helped him to his feet and had him sit on a desk while he looked around the room and the teachers desk for a first aid kit. He found one in the bottom drawer of the desk as he put it down next to him.

He took the bandages from his arms and threw them away as he started pulling out fresh bandages and some ointment to put on his injuries. The boy jerked a bit pulling his arm away which Yugi took back snd shook his head at the younger male. "You gotta let me do it or it'll get infected." The amber eyed boy didn't meet his gaze but let him hold onto his arm.

After several minutes of a whimpering Amane trying to avoid getting his injuries treated, Yugi managed to apply new bandages on his arms hands and face. Amane sighed when it was finally over picking his book bag up off the floor.

"T-thank you…" his response was cut short when Tsuchigomori walks in. "You kids are still here..?" He sounded perplexed but then noticed the fresh bandages on Amane.

"Again, Amane..?" He doesn't get an answer as the amber eyed boy ran from the room. Yugi reached out towards him but he was gone out the door and his footsteps retreated down the hall.

"Gomen, Tsuchigomori-sensei. I found him all injured and bruised up…" his voice trailed off as he noticed the black haired no glasses wearing teacher in a white trench teacher's lab coat. His appearance was different. The teacher looked at him suspiciously.

"Your not from here. What's your name kid?" Yugi was just as suspicious, how was Tsuchigomori here in 1969 if he was a teacher in the present day… unless.

"Your an apparition…" Yugi's voice broken the endless silence between the two as the black haired teacher's eyes widen drastically.

Hanako lead the three students to the library, he knew it was late for the wonder to be active by normal means. So he was gonna pull rank to get Tsuchigomori's attention. He banged on the library door.

"Tsuchigomori-sensei!" Hanako called out. Kou and Yashiro both banged on the door. "Sensei!/Spider-sensei!" The two cried out along side Hanako until the door opened a crack.

The young ghost pushed the door open as the door to the 4'oclock bookstack was revealed on the far bookcase from the door. Jaden looked in awe as the three of them rushed the door, jaden following suit after putting the puzzle around his neck so he wouldn't drop it.

Kou reached the door first and opened it. Deep inside they could see Tsuchigomori talking to a familiar red head with Heterochromia looked in their direction. "Kou-kouhai, Yashiro-san. Who are you two..?" The red head brushed his long hair from his face with his free hand.

In his other hand was a black book that belonged to the 4pm book stack. Yashiro gasped. "Alister-san?"

"Alister..?" Hanako and Jaden repeated both looking at the red head. The male put his hand on his hip looking at them. "Alister Tsuchi. Sensei here had me come. Again, who are you..?" He jabbed a finger at the two.

"I-i'm Jaden Yuki. I'm Kou's classmate." Jaden said nervously unsure how to speak to the clearly annoyed red head. Hanako wasn't gonna back down as he got in the rear heads face. "Well well Alister. I didn't think you'd keep the same name after over 50 years."

Alister's eyes widen sharply as he dropped to the ground stunned. "It can't be… you committed suicide!!" Hanako grabbed the male by his uniform front glaring at him. "So you remember now, Tsuchi-Kun." Alister's eyes looked frightful. He looked away from the ghost of his dear school friend.

"I thought it was just a fake thing… that people when they died at this school come back. I mean damnit it took over 50 years for anyone to be able to summon you!" He jabbed another accusatory finger at the ghost who just smiled deviously.

Tsuchigomori held four other books in his hands. "Honorable number 7. Something appears to be happening to these books." He set them down on the table including the one Alister was holding. On the covers of the books they read. Yugi Amane, Yugi Tsukasa, Tsuchi Alesha, Tsuchi Alister and Muto Yugi.

Yashiro gasped covering her mouth with her hand. "This is what Yami meant… Yugi-Kun… his book's turning black.." (in the 4pm book stack exists a book on every person that attended the school in the past and present. The colors ortaining to the books are black for deceased and white for living)

"Him being in the past is affecting everything now… but look. Alesha's book is turning white…" Alister pointed out. While some of the books were turning from white to black and black to white Amane's and Tsukasa's bordered between white and black half of the books being black and white.

Jaden touched Yugi's book and opened it. "Yugi attended Kamome academy under strange means… in 1969?!?" He nearly dropped book in surprise.

"So he's back in time to where both twins were alive." Tsuchigomori clarifies. "Since my past self even back then is how I am now, I'm sure my past self is aware of the strangeness of him being there is."

Jaden and Kou look concerned and confused by the brewha. "How are we gonna get him back!?" They both yelled at the three males. Hanako sighed desperately. "Since hes not my assistant there's not much I can do to bring him back by connection. If he had his puzzle instead of it being here I would've been able to connect to Yami to bring him back."

Yashiro looked pleadingly with Hanako. "Please let me do this..!" The ghost shook his head sadly his voice dropping in a small voice. "I can't let you Yashiro…" He petted her head a small sad smile on his face. "Your the last one I want to see my horrors.." he held her as he said it so it was muffled into her hair.

Jaden stepped forward. "Send me Hanako… my family never lived in Tokyo back then. I can help Yugi out greatly if you let me..." his brown eyes were filled with conviction as he looked at the direction the ghost was in.

"You'll have no trouble back in the past as much as today since there wasn't as many apparitions floating around as nowadays. Alright I'll send you back there…" Jaden nodded still holding the puzzle.

"I'll take Yami with me that way If we take too long you can yank us back with his help." He gripped the chain as it gave him both comfort and strength.

Hanako smiled as both Hakujoudai's swirl around him. "Good luck Jaden.." after that everything went black.

A while later in the middle of the night Jaden awoke on the floor of the library. "Ugh…. my head.." he held his head with one hand as he sat himself up.

'Did you make it alright, Jaden?' Yami's disembodied voice echoed in his ear as he nods.

"Im fine Yami. Looks like we're still in the library. And it looks like it's night time already… lets see if we can find Yugi." Jaden stands abd walks to the library door and pushes it open.

"I figured it would be locked.. then again Tsuchigomori is around." He looks out into the empty hall which was illuminated by the moon light from the windows as he walks the halls.

"This must be the old building before they built the new one. He walks passed an open door and sees Tsuchigomori standing there. "There he is… great now I know where the specter teacher is, I gotta find Yugi." He slips passed the open door walking down the hall.

He finally gets to the stairs after searching the floor. "Nobody's on this floor.." he rubbed his head as he walks down the stairs. As he walks down he noticed a familiar hair do. "Hey Yugi..!" The boy looked up and gasped.

"Jaden howd you get here!?" He stood up as the younger student got closer. "Hanako sent me to check on you. How'd you even get here!?" Jaden pouted hard crossing his arms.

He explained about Tsukasa's deal and that he was there to prevent Alesha's death. "Death by poison?? From Tsukasa himself..?!? Did the guy grow a conscious in the afterlife..?" Yugi shrugged at Jaden's outburst. He wasn't sure of it either Tsukasa sounded desperate when he spoke.

"He must've been. Either he fears her apparition powers now or he fears what she plans to do now…" the two look at each other worriedfully as the night continued.

"Gaaah!" Tsukasa screamed in pain as his back slammed into the wall. He dropped to the ground as he glared up at Sukiyaki the Copy cat as she smirks over him. Tsukasa's more yellow eyes glared up at the ghost her brown and amber heterochromia eyes looked at him.

"Sorry, Tsukasa… but I should've tried getting rid of you ages ago… when you granted me my wish I can finally take over and get rid of you!" She slashed at him with her giant scythe. He rolled out of the way and threw himself through the door vanishing with his Kokujoudai.

She flew after him. Tsukasa sweated a little dodging and diving out of the way as he flew. 'Hurry Yuugi…' he thought as he dived out of the way again as he vanished and reappeared by the stairs. "Amaaaaaneeee!" He cried out.

The group of 4 exited the library as they heard Tsukasa screaming. "Tsukasa!?!" Everyone ran upstairs Hanako in the lead with Yashiro Kou and Alister following behind.

The hallway was a mess with large slash marks in the doors and floor flying towards then was a panicked Tsukasa and right behind him was the scythe wielding Sukiyaki.

"It's Sukiyaki!!" Yashiro and Kou cried out as Hanako drew his blade from inside his school jacket uniform as Tsukasa dived behind them. "Amaaane..!!" He crashed into Yashiro, his blood getting on her clothes.

"Hanako-Kun..!!" Yashiro cried out seeing the blood reminded her of Yami's injuries he had sustained. Hanako gripped his blade tightly as Alister stepped in front of them. "Alesha!!!" The scythe wielding Ghost stopped in her tracks her eyes widen. "I-impossible…!"

Her eyes look over her brother in shock. "You can't be here..! Your supposed to be gone..!" The red head twin stared his sister down. "No… your not supposed to be here sissy. This wasn't supposed to happen to you…!" Alister's eyes filled with tears as he looked at his twin. She herself had tears in her eyes.

"I won't let you stop me from ridding the world of that damn ghost…" she lets out a large shout as shadows swarmed over her. Hanako shoved him out of the way as he leaped at the ghost slashing her as she screams.

"Damn you Number 7. Both you and your brother are through..!" She cried out swinging her scythe. Hanako's gaze hardens.

"As of right now our very existences are being reworked, Alesha.. by the end of Young Yugi and Jaden's trip to the past, who knows who's going to live or who truly dies. Our existence and lives are in their hands.." His grip tightens on his knife as he leaps at the scythe ghost once more as their blades collide.

(Finally done! Thank god it took me so long to get this worded through and through. Hope you guys enjoyed it)
