Okay so with Eclipse out and Edward thrown all up in my grill, I have some things to get off my chest. I am Team Wolf all the way. I am Anti-Edward like nobody's business. I feel that he is an emotionally abusive jerk and when you look up the signs/symptoms of domestic abuse, you will see he exhibits more than a few. I don't care if he sparkles, that doesn't excuse his behavior and I think SM made a huge mistake in letting Bella choose him. Nor do I believe that Bella's behavior in New Moon was any better. I understand a broken heart. I understand pain, but she was borderline suicidal and showing behaviors of someone in a abusive relationship. I truly believe that SM should have stopped at Twilight and not turned it into a series. Young women are impressionable and to let them think or lead them to believe that taking the engine out of your car or forcing your sister to babysit your girl is reasonable or showing love? Well that's utter horse manure.

Love is, and will always be, about respect. Abuse is when one person in the relationship uses their power to control the other. What Edward shows is him using whatever means to control his relationship with Bella and that's not love. That's domestic abuse and it doesn't have to be physical. Why do I feel so strongly about this? Because I'm a mom. Because I have a 17 year old sister and finally because I would like for girls of this generation to have more sense and respect for themselves. Not like SM's Bella.

Dislike your friends and family and discourage your relationships with others?

Make all the decisions in the relationship?

Act jealous of people you talk to?

Try to make you feel worthless or helpless?

Forbid or prevent you from working or going to school?

Keep money, credit cards, and checking accounts away from you? Or controls your money?
