Zavvox

So! Now that the quick moping is out of the way, what am I working with here?

Quest obtained

Starting zone

Figure out what to do here.

Reward: Iron spear

Oh! How convenient. I guess that's my starting weapon there… let's start on my looks.

I look exactly how I made myself look, an black-green ant horror. The room itself does look nice, looks like some kind of dark futuristic room… which looks all broken and old, and there's 8 golden pillars around me that are glowing, and then that, I think, makes the big golden barrier around me, only enough to turn my big body and walk maybe half a step.

And that's what I've been hitting myself on for a while when I was trying to move my body. But I don't think that the guy in charge would've just left me in here for the next thousand years or something, so, what can I do to get out of here?

Uh, I got basic information about the system after I did my quest, so… Let's see here…

Not a very… expansive list, but it'll do. For now, stats?

Zavvox

Gamer

Level: 1 [0/1000]

Old God

Rank: Minor god [x8]

Class: Warrior [Spears]

Hp: 8,000

Sp: 8,000

Stats:

Vit: 10 [100 hp per vit] [80]

Str: 10 [80]

Wis: 10 [50 mp per wis] [80]

End: 10 [100 sp per wis] [80]

Cha: 10 [80]

Luk: 10 [80]

Notable skills: Observe. Create a dungeon, create a mortal form.

Notable perks: Gamer's mind [Villain], Gamer's body. Digging skills.

...Woah. uh, let's see, all my stats start at 10, and they all become 80? Actually, what's the rank there meant to be anyways?

Ranks

Mortal - 1x

Enhanced mortal - 2x

Demi god - 4x

Minor god - 8x [you are here]

Medium god - 16x

Major god - 32x

Divine god - 64x

Creator god - 128x

...So, I get a flat 8x boost to my stats? That… Well, I can't leave here anyways. I'll just be rotting away… Maybe I should just check my skills.

Let me check my perks really quickly before going on to the rest.

[Gamer's mind [Villain] - A perk granted to every villain gamer. Removes most negative emotions that would impede being a bad guy, such as guilt about killing people for your own gain. Perk will occasionally strongly urge you to do things you normally wouldn't do. Immunity to most mind related spells.]

[Gamer's body - A perk granted to every gamer. Causes your body to become like a game character. All major body wounds will completely heal in time. Will die no matter what if you reach 0 Hp.]

[Digging skills - as an ant, you are exceptionally good at digging.]

That… Wait, I was calm because I had gamer's mind from the start, right? And it makes me do things I normally wouldn't do...

...That perk made me gamble it all away on the old god modifiers...

It may be petty, but I hope all the other villain gamers went through the same thing.

Alright, observe?

[Observe - observe a target for their name, health, mana, stamina, and their most important stats. On objects, it will describe the object and its purpose.]

Sounds extremely useful. So, what if I use observe on this shield?

[Last Barrier - a barrier created to seal the old god Zavvox. After years of use, the shield has grown much weaker than it initially was, allowing you to cast skills outside of the shield. Requires 800 strength to break. Causes level 10 enemies to swarm your room to "pacify" you.]

...only 800? I can do that… at level 10? 9?

Which causes a lot of level 10 enemies to come.

Alright, maybe I won't do that for a bit, but freedom would be nice eventually. But he can cast skills outside of the barrier… which seems like my ticket out through some way.

How about those pillars?

[Holy Pillars of Sealing - 8 pillars used to seal the old god Zavvox, who once ruled the world. After thousands of years of use, they have degraded to a fraction of their original use.]

Once used to rule the world? Wait… did they make me some kind of old powerful old god who once ruled the world?

Wait, that's like… some kind of unofficial… what was it called… I dunno, but that's got to be some sort of sign they want me to win, right?

...But then again, if I got in here, I would've lost somehow. So I should probably avoid that.

Oh, right, there's a door over there…

[Doors of fallen gods - an extremely decorated door (on the other side) depicting your defeat. Requires 1600 strength to break. Breaking the door causes the high level guards of this place onto maximum security, activating all security measures to make sure your original form doesn't get out.]

...I can do that when I get to level 20!

...Which makes all the high level guards here activate. Shoot.

Wait, I'm getting a bit side tracked. What's up with my other two skills?

[Create a dungeon - creates an instant dungeon for you to fight in. All experience gained inside is lowered after level 10. Once every week normal or above difficulty players may gain gacha tokens after killing the boss]

[Create a mortal form - creates a mortal form which you can control. It shares your stats and its rank is an enhanced mortal.]

Alright… So, could I use my mortal form to sort of get out of here?

Creating mortal form…

Zavvox

Gamer

Level: 1 [0/1000]

Old God [Mortal form]

Rank: Enhanced mortal [x2]

Class: Warrior [Spears]

Hp: 1,000 [vit hp regen/minute]

Mp: 500 [wis mp regen/minute]

Sp: 1,000 [end sp regen/minute]

Stats:

Vit: 10 [50 hp per vit] [20]

Str: 10 [20]

Dex: 10 [20]

Int: 10 [20]

Wis: 10 [25 mp per wis] [20]

End: 10 [50 sp per wis] [20]

Cha: 10 [20]

Luk: 10 [20]

Notable skills: Observe. Create a dungeon, create a mortal form. Fly.

Notable perks: Gamer's mind [Villain], Gamer's body. Digging skills.

So my mortal form is actually an enhanced mortal? That's pretty cool. But first and foremost, it did its job. It formed outside of my barrier.

It looked a lot like my old god form, but without the tentacles. So basically, an extremely scary black and green ant moving on two legs. With huge pincer things and wings… only two wings though.

Attempting to move my mortal form, and succeeding (despite the odd feeling of being in two bodies at once), I give myself a pat on the back for figuring out the puzzle that they probably made on purpose.

Of course, it wasn't really a puzzle, it was more like a… test, making sure if you were stupid or not.

Unfortunately, I chose warrior, while having the option to use magic. So I must be some level of incompetent.

Now, secondly, I can fly with this?

[Fly - use the wings on your back to fly. Costs 10 Sp per second]

That sounds expensive. Maybe I can use it to run away in a bad spot...

Anyways… looking around with my mortal form, I find… a hole in the wall at the back of the room.

Yeah, a hole that leads to dirt. Fortunately, I can probably dig myself out of here, and thus completing this puzzle-check thing.

Unfortunately, it's small, so only my mortal form could make it in.

And secondly, I'm level one. And I'm on the extreme difficulty. I should probably try to use the dungeon to level up first…

So, how does this work…

Creating dungeon [Dinosaurs]

Oh, that's how it works. Alright, march on!

Quest completed

Starting zone

Rewards: Iron spear.

Wait! Don't march on just yet! Let me check this… where is it? Uh… inventory?

[Iron spear - common - A spear with an iron tip. A perfect weapon for starters. Deals 5 + Str damage]

Cool. My inventory is infinite too… Well, anyways, march forward!

Akiya

Aha… shoot. How did she get here? Protecting a civilian in a shady alleyway,

Oh, right. Her gamer's mind activated. And now she's protecting a level 5 civilian at level 6, from a level 13 thug.

...She wasn't so confident right now… she should've not just done one dungeon and called it a day...

"I AM HERE!"

Hold on! Is that!?

"All Might!?"

Zavvox

Well, this is a nice looking jungle with a clear path with a lot of creepy things that want to eat me.

Fortunately, these guys seem to be the main enemies right now.

Raptor

Level 3

Hp: 120

Notable stats:

Str: 13

Dex: 10

Super weak. Barely significant, even.

Well, at least gamer's mind makes me feel less bad about this…

Pulling out my iron spear from my inventory, I ran forward towards the very first enemy of my life.

The spear hits its neck… and bounces off.

25 damage dealt.

[95/120]

...Oh, right. Game physics…

The raptor was not quite amused at my attempt, and so he roared and tried to attack me. But I have 20 dexterity and dodged the attack and landed one of my own again.

25 damage dealt.

[70/120]

...This is really slow. Is this what every fight was going to be?

While thinking that thought, I left myself open like a moron, and the raptor bit my arm.

20 damage taken.

[980/1,000]

...For a super low amount of damage.

Well, if it only does that much, I can just attack it a lot before it hurts me a lot.

So that's exactly what I do, I keep stabbing the raptor for 25 damage every hit until the last hit, completely ignoring his attacks. And then the spear actually goes through the body, leaving its body in a bloody shape.

Raptor killed.

You gain all experience at the end of the dungeon.

...I have to do all of this at level 1?

...Well, I regenerate 20 health in a minute right now, and I have a lot of time to spend right now…

After what feels like an hour, and a lot of dead raptors, I finally reached the boss.

Armored raptor

Level 8

Hp: 500

Notable stats:

Str: 25

End: 30

That awkward moment when an animal has higher stats than you…

Well, let's see, I'll just hit it in its not armored parts and it'll die faster, probably.

So I use the same strategy I've been using. Run at the raptor, stab it a lot, and hope it dies.

And I hit it in the neck where there's no armor…

Critical hit. Instant kill.

...And it dies?

Dungeon completed

Please exit to complete dungeon.

Uh. Okay… Well, a win is a win.

You have gained 2,355 experience

You have leveled up 2 times. [1 to 3] [255/1,210]

You have gained 20 stat points.

You have gained skills: Charge.

You have gained perks: spread corruption

You have gained items: 3 gacha tokens.

...Huh, now that I look at it…

Only 2 levels for a single dungeon? I mean, at least I got 20 points… which is more like 40, since my old god form won't be using any of it for a while.

Well… Put it into strength for now.

Str: 10 to 30 [60/240]

Oh, wow, I got a lot closer to my goal of getting to 800 strength… Uh, maybe I should hold that goal off until later…

System updated

Title - First man dead.

Wait- What?

Someone is already dead? This is like… I don't know, day two? I've got to read this.

You did not read that title incorrectly. One of you managed to die. How this is possible, considering all the help we've given you at the start, astounds us. If you are curious, the dead man is named Jragik, and he was one of the villains. His world was, and I'm sure you won't believe this when I tell you, doom.

He was on the side of the entirety of hell and still died this early. Tragic. What's even more tragic is that he died to Doom Guy. We wanted other players to fight each other, not die to someone else, and so, we're rolling out a few changes to the system to help you not die while getting to that confrontation. - Paradise

Observe will now tell you the threat level of an individual.

Most classes will now gain a detect nearby danger ability at a certain level.

If players do not meet each other for 1 whole year, a kill switch will activate, killing you both instantly.

Players will instinctively know if they are in the same general area.

We may make more of these changes as the baffling way some of you die makes itself more apparent, but for now, these will do. Do not be like Jragik, we have put much more faith in the rest of you. - Paradise

Alright… let's see here… Firstly, can't believe that Jragik is giving all of us a bad name, I'll be sure to curse him in memory. Secondly, those first two changes are nice, the last two… not so nice. I think they're there to try and force us into a confrontation. But 1 year is a long time anyways, so it's probably fine.

Wait, I got off-track… Uh, sure, let me check my skills.

[Charge - charges at an enemy at 3 times your running speed. Costs 120 Sp.]

[Spread corruption - your original form will corrupt any ground it touches, and the corrupted ground will spread on its own. Living beings start being influenced by you when they are on the corruption]

...Woah. Magic… Wait, I'm a warrior, why did I get that? That… sounds like an old god thing.

Oh, maybe I'm just stupid. I have things I get from my species and things I get from my class.

You know, that perk would be really nice… if my original form could go anywhere.

Well, regardless, Uh… I've got gacha tokens, how can I use them?

Crush to redeem gacha tokens

First gacha token will be a guaranteed legendary related to your class.

Oh, neat… while grabbing my tokens, I absently realized that my hands are claws now. Cool.

[Grasscutter - legendary - A mythical naginata once used by a god, however its power has long since gone dormant. Deals 350+5*Str damage]

[Empty suitcase - common - a suitcase commonly used for storing items]

[Black cloak - common - A black cloak that has nothing special to it]

Ooh. ahh… it's a neat spear thing. Actually, that's an understatement. Just looking at those big numbers are making me a bit excited...

The suitcase is kind of useless considering… you know, my inventory. But the cloak does look neat.

Also, I just realized my mortal form doesn't have any clothes. So this will do for now.

Overall, only my legendary token gave me anything good, but I'm sure I'll get lucky… eventually.

Am I missing anything else? No? Then I think I should be fine to… Oh, wait, do I have any quests I still have? I haven't actually checked any of my tabs except stats and inventory.

Quests

Where am I?

Figure out what world you're in.

Reward: Basic knowledge of the plot

The Enemy

Kill the opposing player. Do not give mercy, nor do not expect it.

Reward: World jump. Additional classes. 1,500,000 experience.

Escape from Alrodar.

Free your original form from your prison

Reward: 50,000 experience. All minions are 50% more efficient for 3 days. ?

3 quests, huh? So the first one seems simple… unless if I don't know where I end up, in which in that case, that may be difficult.

The second one seems expected, kill the other guy, but the rewards sound really nice… 1.5 million experience? I'm sure the dead player's enemy is really happy right now…

And the last one sounds unique. Alrodar? Sounds like the place I'm stuck in… That's going to take a while to do though.

Well, I should be all… nope, I still have the options menu.

Options

Change music

Change volume

Change graphics

Now THAT looks like something I definitely should not change. I didn't hear any music in the dungeon, I'm fine with what I heard, and I definitely don't want to look different.

Alright… that's it. I'm going to check out the hole from earlier now.

And of course, it's still here. Using my claws I start digging.

Well, this is going to take a while…

After hitting a lot of floors and walls of what was probably the prison, I finally made it out onto the surface.

...And I'm in a forest? Huh… I can sort of sense where my original form is, and I can see out of it just fine… so if I just follow that feeling…

I reach a shack. Huh.

[Alrodar's doors - locked from the outside, keeping all its residents in, this door is kept as normal as possible as to ward away intruders. (Warning: if opened, tier 1 security will be activated)]

Well… I guess I'll not open that. So, I guess I'll pick a direction and start walking?

System updated

Title - Actual balance changes

...I should probably read this.

Now, it hasn't been that long since our last system update, but I promise this one will be important! We're going to rework some classes that need some… work. Now, don't worry, we'll label the patches category by category, so you don't have to scroll down endless amounts of information you don't need! -Gaienyan

General [minions, gacha, mana, stamina, character behavior]

Classes [rogues, mages]

Species [humans, quadruped animals]

Now, happy hunting! -Gaienyan

Well… I guess only the general section applies to me right now.

General

Minion limits have been changed to your level *5 and increases the variable every 5 levels. Minions already summoned past this limit will be put into your inventory, but will not be able to leave until a space is open. Yes, Gruol, we saw you summon almost 20,000 imps on the first day, but could you sincerely not? - Aodare

Gacha rates for mythic and above have been slightly decreased.

All mana and stamina points per wisdom and endurance are now higher. This one is for all you mages and others just trying to use your skills, but being unable to! -Gaienyan

More complex behavior for the NPC characters has been added. Previously, they said a few things, fought you, and usually lost, where they then either despawned, went to jail, or died. Now, they will act as if they've always been part of the world and will act more naturally - Paradise

Looks all good… The gacha rates is kind of sad, but someone probably got something insanely good from all of his tokens. And the minions... Well, I have no idea if I make minions, so I'll think about that later.

What's my mana and stamina, then?

Mana: 1,000/8000 [50/100 mp per wisdom]

Stamina: 1,500/12,000 [75/150 sp per endurance]

Woah, big increase… I don't have anything that uses mana, and I'm barely using my stamina right now…

Well, I'll keep walking, I guess… Wait a minute. I can fly.

I'm an idiot sometimes.

Moments after flying up, I can see a big human looking city in the exact opposite direction I've been walking, so, whoops. So I just fly in that direction until I start seeing people, and then I fly back onto the ground.

A good 400 stamina used. Didn't even feel afraid of the height.

So, taking a closer look at the people on the street...

Unnamed civilian

Level 5

Human (quirked)

Hp: 100

Threat level: 0

Quirked? Hold on… I swear I saw this on the other tab in the classes menu at the start… quirks, right? But what does that… come on, super convenient amnesia, do your thing…

You know, I don't think this-OH.

Quest completed

Reward: basic knowledge of the plot.

My Hero academia…

Well, at least now I know.

Omake

Phillip

Imagine dying on day two. Nope, I absolutely can't imagine it.

The sounds of undead around every corner whispers into his ear.

Nope, absolutely can't imagine it…

...Shit, is there a reset mechanic? I didn't think that using the random teleporter would send me into Stratholme…

God, why did you have to limit my mana by half? I wanted to play mage, not a hit and run magic caster…

Oh, maybe that's the same thing.

As an undead finds Phillip, he starts to run the hell away.

"God! Why did you leave me here!?"

It appears I've been struck with overconfidence, because when I said I learnt a lot about writing, I thought I meant it. It was only until I started writing this chapter I realized, it was that kind of learning where I immediately forget most of it whenever I need it.

I feel like I'm missing something… well, whatever. On somewhat related topics, give me more names or something for the players and stuff, because I'm just making things up as I go along.

What else… I dunno, I forgot the disclaimer or something I guess. I can't write serious things to save my life, so this is walking the line between crack and serious. I think? I don't know, I've been starting to read fanfiction for almost all of the pandemic and I haven't learnt shit.

Uh, what else, what else… Don't expect high quality content from me I guess?

Uh, blah blah blah, leave a review if you want to, something something?

Also, if you haven't noticed, I don't put a lot of thought into these post comments or something. I just dump words here.
