Zavvox

Ah, killing a big rat never felt so good.

Well, back at base, I now have a little drone in my inventory that could be the start of an unending empire. The question is… Where can I put it? Maybe I could put it on the surface, but that'll put it at high risk from anyone from Musutafu who looks in the direction of the forest, and my prison isn't really the best place to put a hatchery…

Well… I only have one chance at this, so I probably should wait a bit before putting it somewhere… Hm, don't I have a modifier that makes minions… do something? Hold on, I'm pretty sure they're in the stats somewhere…

[Evolution master - all minions you create will be able to breed 3 times as quickly and will be able to minorly change their appearances to adapt to their situation.]

Yep! But does breed mean, like, hatch as well? Do I want to risk putting a hatchery on the surface somewhere and try to get a new drone out before the hatchery dies?

...You know what, I'll save the drone until I find somewhere safer to place it… Maybe All for One has a few empty locations I could use? But that requires me to go to… Kamino.

Ugh, do I really wanna meet that guy and see how far down the ladder I am?

...I probably should…

Quest obtained

The villain ladder.

Observe All for One.

Reward: 1 gacha token.

Enticing me with gambling eh? Well… You've got me there. In other news...

I have a free contract space open now, so… Maybe I should take another one. Taking a look around I see all the old contracts I haven't taken and some new ones, but one catches my eye.

Ascending Terror [Skryb]

Kill 10 heroes in public

Reward: 10,000 experience.

Fine, be weenies. Instead of 10,000, how about just 10?

Skryb decides to be nice and gives out a somewhat sensible contract… I could probably do that while doing Paradise's contract as well by eating one of those heroes.

...Maybe I should stay away from Musutafu? Somewhere like… I dunno, I'll find someplace somewhere.

...Maybe I should've kept that phone, huh?

You have accepted 1 contract.

Ascending Terror.

Contract given by: Skryb.

Reward: 10,000 experience.

Well, I should just grab another phone and head for the nearest city that's not Musutafu.

Well, what else am I missing… Oh! Right! My corruption! I've nearly forgotten about that… Well, I'll just spit it onto the ground while I'm in the forest or in the city. It's not like I'll be getting too much use of it right now. It can be like… A surprise tool that'll help me later.

Uh… What now? I guess I should just go for a phone and head to the next city…

Akiya

Random bits of black and green flesh appearing in Musutafu? Doesn't that look like…

...Oh.

I'm so screwed.

There were 1000 villains that she could've been paired up with, and she potentially got the most deadliest one!? The old god?!

I really, really hope that guy is incompetent…

Why couldn't she get put with someone super bad at the game like… Jragik?

Zavvox

Endor! A nice, lovely city with low crime rates and few heroes.

Sometimes, I see such lovely scenery and look at the free smiles on everyone's face as they go about their day without a care in the world, thinking that their perfect city would be safe for all eternity.

And I feel a strong urge to mess it all up.

So, kill 10 heroes, eat someone in public, and… Find someone who might work with me, but considering what I'm about to do… Unlikely.

Well, It's hero killing time!

After a bit of flying in the daylight sky of Endor, I found my first prey surrounded by a bunch of people.

Fly Hunter

Hero

Level 20

Quirk: Electric Spark

Hp: 2,500

Notable stats:

None

Threat level: 1

Noticeably weaker compared to Rockruff… Maybe it's because Endor was advertised as a peaceful city on the phone, so all the heroes here are weaker?

Well, better for me.

Dropping down using charge, I hit Fly Hunter in the back and…

750 damage dealt.

Fly Hunter [1,750/2,500]

I should really invest in more strength…

Fly screams in pain, everyone nearby starts to scream in panic, and I simply attack with Grasscutter again.

750 damage dealt.

Fly Hunter [1,000/2,500]

He's screaming a lot… this doesn't even pierce the skin. More like a rough bruise. It's kind of sad…

750 damage dealt.

Fly Hunter [250/2,500]

And now, for the main course.

Picking up Fly Hunter's body off the ground where he's screaming in immense pain somehow, despite the combat system literally making me unable to really do any noticeable physical damage onto him, I put him above my mouth.

Am I really going to eat a living human being just for the promise of a quick gamble?

Of course I am!

Fly Hunter has been killed.

100 experience gained. [1891/2142]

...What a disappointment. It tastes like shit.

Contract completed.

Live Fear.

Rewards: 4,500 experience. 1 gacha token.

You have leveled up 2x [9 to 11] [1679/3084]

You have gained 20 stat points

You have gained skills: Tendril, False Swipe.

That's good… Uh, put those points into strength, and let me quickly check the skills before I go.

Str: 40 to 60 [120/480]

[Tendril - creates a tendril at any location where you have corruption. Tendrils can be controlled by you. Costs 550 mana]

[False Swipe - when a target reaches 0 HP while false swipe is being used, they will go unconscious instead of dying.]

...I don't think that's what a tendril is, but sure, go for it. And false swipe sounds useless because… you know. Villainy.

Well, in the light of all these people screaming in fear, I've gotta find my next opponent!

"Stop right there, Zavvox!"

What a convenience that my next enemy is coming to me.

Hydro Pump

Hero

Level 26

Quirk: Hydro Pump

Hp: 3,500

Notable stats:

Str: 65

End: 55

Threat level: 5

Well, if I keep using Rockruff as a scaling, then all of these guys are… disappointing. It must be that Endor is a weaker zone or something. And the health is… probably a product of me being at a higher level now.

"I came here to bathe in the blood of heroes, and yet all I see is children."

...I… You know what, I'll just accept that these random outbursts are part of me now. It would just be really nice if I got a warning when I would say these things.

Hydro Pump didn't seem too concerned as he ended up using his quirk on me.

It's just that, you know, the water is pretty slow for some reason, and I just sidestepped it.

The easiest 10 heroes of my life.

Akiya

Is it Zavvox? He's been appearing on the news a bit lately, and he's black and green just like the bits of flesh…

Maybe he's a minion? I don't think an old god would just decide to be a warrior…

Well, she doesn't exactly know until she observes him…

Zavvox

You have completed a contract.

Ascending Terror

You have gained 10,900 experience.

You have leveled up 3x [11 to 14] [1335/5328]

You have gained 30 stat points.

You have gained perk: Final Laugh

Only one thing for 3 levels? Aw… Well, I guess all of the heroes I fought were so disappointingly easy that I thought I was on easy mode…

Put those 30 points into… strength.

Str: 60 to 90 [180/720]

Yep! And now because I like my numbers, I'll leave my strength there until I feel confident in taking on the level 10 mobs that enter my room after I break the shield.

...They're still level 10, right? Well, regardless, perk?

[Final Laugh - when your mortal form is killed, your mortal form will dissolve into a large amount of corruption, cursing the land for years to come.]

Huh… That's cool. But I should probably avoid dying in general… Well, time to get out of Endor.

It's night? I could've sworn it was just morning a few minutes ago…

System updated.

Title - Healers OP

Nevermind that, I should read this.

Wtf why are healers so op? - Mark

Classes [Mages, Warriors, Rogues, Rangers]

Worlds [Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss, MCU, JoJo, Overlord]

Species [Doppelgangers, Cockroaches]

...Huh? Did they… Who the hell did what? I don't even know someone who would pick a healer in a match between 2 people trying to kill each other. I've got to read this.

Priest's Holy touch ability's effectiveness has been reduced 25%

Priest's power word shield ability has their effectiveness reduced by 50%

Priest's divine protection ability has been reduced from 12 seconds to 5 seconds.

Priest's intervention ability's range has been reduced by 25%

Reduced experience obtained from healing targets.

The 5 priests in the game, specifically Urel, Ouros, Dayak, Fornum, and Pout, essentially turned the game into a babysitting simulator as they healed anyone they saw and gained massive experience points, adding in that they essentially had a living shield protecting them at all times, the other gamer's couldn't really touch them on higher difficulties because they kept healing the enemies the other gamers were fighting. So, you know, fair and balanced as all things should be. - Aodare.

Holy shit… Yeah, that makes sense, I had a hard time dealing with some enemies, imagine if they could heal… Well, I'm all for laughing at the misfortunes of 5 guys.

Warrior's false swipe ability can now activate at 10% health instead of 0.

Rogue's bleed ability no longer affects undead. Don't ask why this was here in the first place. - Sentrot

Gun skills now deal significantly less damage. Who the fuck decided that adding a guns specialty to the ranger class was a good idea? - Skryb

...Rangers got guns? Yeah, Skryb, you're usually insane, but you're right this time. Who the fuck added guns to a ranger class?

I'll probably stop here… Huh, what now? Do I just sleep again?

Wait, I have a spare token… I'll use it now, I guess.

[Message from the future - Epic - a letter from you in the future to advise you.]

A… Wait, that's an epic?! Alright, this message better give me the secrets to world domination.

Hello past me. I guess. You're not really the past me because I didn't get a message from my future self, so I guess there are multiple timelines going on? Well, regardless, I should probably tell you now that the guards in the prison don't give any experience, nor can be corrupted. Also, don't break that door, because there's a level 100 warden standing in front of it. I nearly died. Breaking your barrier is fine though, the level 10 enemies weren't that hard for me at level 20, you could probably do it at level 15 and be fine. But the moment you get your minion creation ability or whatever, you need to make a huge army and start to clear out the floors since you get rewards for doing so. Big rewards. Sure, it might result in a few hundred thousand dead minions, but it's a relatively small price to pay. Hope you get the victory against the other player.

Sincerely, Zavvox.

...Huh, alright. So it's telling me not to break out of prison as soon as possible? But I should do it soon because I will get rewards for doing so… Well, alright. When I get some minions, I'll break out of prison.

...Well, what now? Do I just go to sleep? But I could be doing some contracts or something… Oh, right! I need some more contracts.

Let's see here… Skryb has gone his usual mentally insane route and is requesting 100 kills on heroes… Crowned wants more territory… Aodare wants to torture someone…

Well, nothing that catches my eye particularly… I should just finish up the one I have, recruiting 5 people… Or if I join someone, I technically have them on my side? Hah… I guess I should go to Kamino, then.

Omake

Lorvi

You know, pokemon was a nice world to be stuck in, but…

Throwing another pokeball at an unsuspecting pidgey, it catches.

Kanto? It's kind of a… boring region. Sure, it's nice to see all these people come to life, but there's a distinct lack of… Oomph here. Maybe somewhere like Galar would've been nicer, with the cheering crowds and stuff.

...Well, I'm on the 4th gym badge, and I haven't seen the other gamer yet… Where is he anyways? What else could he be doing?

I recognize this is sort of short, but I've been agonizing on how I can skip the clock a bit without it being "Eh?"

I don't really care about the big time skips while reading other stories, but while writing them, I get a feeling of "You know, the MC could be grinding instead of sleeping. What was he doing during that time anyways? There's a huge threat on the horizon, there isn't time to waste." and things like that. I could probably get away with skipping a few days but then I get the feeling of "But why would he do nothing when the other gamer could be doing something."

I finally understand why some people put sin of sloth on their gamer, just to avoid this inconvenience of "Yeah, but he could've been doing X"

Also, the whole thing of there being another gamer puts all the fun stuff at risk because then while that's happening I just get the feeling of "The other gamer could be level 100 right now. Of course, she isn't, but does the MC know that?"

Actually, Akiya is human, I'm sure she's enjoying hours of sleep almost every night. But then I hit the problem of "Yeah, but does the MC know that? All he knows is that the other gamer could be grinding like hell and is already at level 50 or something." again.

Maybe I'm being stupid. I'm sure nobody really cares when time is being skipped in stories but while I'm writing these I just get conscious about them.

Leave a review and tell me I'm stupid for thinking too much about this. I'll probably need it.
