Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or Avengers.

I taste dry desert air as I exit the veil. The sky is dark and cloudy, but dissipating. Not that I expect to recognize the stars when they reveal themselves. Am I on a desert world perhaps? Or an alternate Earth after an apocalypse? Maybe there will be some mutants or aliens strong enough to grant me a new body. And if I satiate my hunger just a bit, all the better. I forgot how gnawing it is, always there, always wanting more. I definitely need a snack.

I sniff the air and smell, souls, human souls. Alternate reality then. But then, there is magic in the air as well. Firstly in the spot I just came from, but that wasn't a surprise. The circle of Norse runes though, that wasn't expected.

My hunger wins out my curiosity however and I quickly pick up the scent of two additional magical sources, each almost identical. I keep my wings curled to maintain the cloak and float toward a possible meal.

It takes me a few minutes to reach one of the locations. When cloaked by my wings I remain undetectable, but move much more slowly, relying on my Dementor flight instead of my wings. I could use my wizarding knowledge as well but that would leave a trail of magic, similar to a modern jet engine.

When I reach the closest location, there is some kind of military camp. Fencing, guards and lights surround it. None of it is a concern for me as I simple float unseen above. The small little tunnels though, invisible or not, would have me make contact with others, assuming I can even fit through them without tearing the tunnels apart.

I can feel the magical power directly in the center of the maze. Clearly, these humans possess it and are either aware of its magic or studying it with their science. When did I start thinking of myself as no longer human I wonder? I really need to find myself a new body before I forget what it means.

In either case, I begin looking for sources of information that I can acquire and spot a man in a suit with glasses and a clipboard. He looks important, or at least, well informed. Sitwell is what they call him. Using American accents of all things. So either I'm in America, or one of America's far too common foreign bases in dry climates. I could be in any number of areas. The license plates don't give a location either. How annoying.

Well, Sitwell, we'll just have to have a show and tell then won't we. Hmmmm. I move closer to my new informant and twist through the air until I am upside down and locking my gaze with his. As far as anyone else is concerned he is just surveying the troops a bit longer than usual.

I try and be as gentle, as subtle as I possibly can be, no rush. It takes me much longer than I had intended. Not only to keep from frying his brain and not reveal something is wrong to the cameras. But because he is not who he says he is.

I mean, sure, he's part of a super spy organization that deals with world espionage and not just a regular government agent. And sure they deal with super soldier situations apparently. Something to look into further later. And what is obviously Thor's hammer is definitely cool and answers my questions as to the source of one of the magics detected. But he's also some kind of terrorist traitor, part of a rival spy organization that has deeply rooted itself into this government sponsored Shield organization, which has one of the best names ever. Though as far as evil organizations go, Hydra is pretty clever too.

So there goes any option to reveal myself to the good guys, maybe get some help with my meals, as apparently there are no good guys. Wonderful. On the other hand, if everyone is a bad guy then there's less chance of accidently eating someone who I shouldn't. So, that's a bonus.

I decide to hold back devouring his soul right there and then. With the cameras it would draw a bit too much attention. I did get the location of an, Abomination though. A possible body capable of handling my power. One of two, though it appears this Hulk is one of the few good guys around so maybe only one real option. I even know where he's imprisoned.

Now then. Time to find this second magical source, apparently a God of Thunder. This should be interesting. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be an evil god. I'm pretty sure his blood would be able to handle my full power. Free me from this Dementor powered animagus form.

Just as I move to investigate the Asgardian, I feel a spike of power from where I came, and four new magical signatures appearing within my senses. It soon becomes apparent they know exactly where this Thor is as they move toward him. This could get interesting, so I head to intercept them at Thor's location. A diner? That's a long ways to go for some bacon and eggs. I'm definitely hungry if I'm making food jokes.

After making my way there I can see them embracing, obviously knowing each other. From what I can hear they are the Warriors Three and the Lady Sif. I guess this confirms Shield's Asgard theory. Unfortunately for them, someone, or something, followed them here, and it reeks of dark magic, death and destruction.

I remain hidden as the robot-golem-giant-thing that reminds me of a suit of armour marches through the town, firing it's blasts of heat from its hollow head. I let the Lady Sif and the Warriors Three pick a fight with it, curious as to how strong Asgardians are. They're definitely able to take a beating. The problem is they aren't doing any damage. It has no organs and doesn't care what their blades do. Which means my claws and venom probably won't matter either.

I consider my chances of using dragon fire on it. The problem is it's shooting hot beams out of its face capable of destroying buildings and knocking out gods. I give my flames a 50/50 chance to working. Either it melts the metal, or it doesn't bother it, and then the thing shoots me in the face while my mouth is open. Not something I'm looking forward too.

I decide to help the citizens instead. I keep myself cloaked and cast spells to energize, provide oxygen, block debris, even pull or push some one way or another. This will probably cause some investigations but as long as I don't reveal my form or my more destructive powers I should stay out of the reach of these two competing spy organizations.

As Thor offers himself up I can feel magic spike and decide to let it play out but be ready to intercede. Maybe I can simply apparate the thing to a non populated area and unleash both my fire and my magic.

Turns out I don't need to as Mjolnir reunites with its wielder and Thor short circuits the animated armour. I stay to watch how they travel from the same location I appeared, before deciding I need to find something to eat.

I also am going to need more information and power if I'm going to stay here. The Abomination will be a good start. Adding gamma rays to my animagus form should give me more options should I encounter those resistant to magic.

Author's Note: I realize this is a spectator chapter. This will not be the norm and was just for gathering information. The next chapter and all other chapters will be making some big changes that will prevent any future spectating. I personally hate those fics myself so I wouldn't write that. Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest!
