You have leveled up 2x [15 to 17] [3436/9205]
You have gained 20 stat points.
You have gained skill: Return Throw
[Return Throw: When you throw your weapon and hit a target, the weapon will return to your hand unless obstructed.]
Vit: 30 to 50 [100/400] [Hp: 5,000/40,000]
System updated.
Title - Apology patch.
Eh? Already? Well, that was nice while it lasted. Maybe this will be an interesting read while I hunt for my next target.
We threw Paradise into a time-out zone. Mostly because God has no fury like a calm man scorned or something like that. Sorry to the rogues and archers who were neutered for a few hours! We still hate you! - Gaienyan
General [Observe, Difficulty]
Classes [Rangers, Rogues]
Yeah, about what I expected would happen. So, what's up with the general changes?
Using Observe on other gamers now show their modifiers.
Extreme and Hard difficulties have been increased in difficulty for species ranked minor god and above.
While we don't want to harshly penalize lucky players, it's more fair to both players if the experience of playing extreme as a god wasn't like playing on normal for a mortal. - Himera
Fixed issue on extreme difficulty where characters would only talk about you, but wouldn't prioritize you.
Adjusts extreme difficulty prioritization so all enemies won't immediately drop what they're doing to kill you.
...Ah. Shit.
Well! Alright, I guess this was kind of easy… Uh, speaking of easy, next target.
Wakker
Hero
Level 35
Quirk: Cartoon
Hp: 10,000
Stats:
Dex: 78
Int: 82
Cha: 100
I think their stats are higher? I haven't really seen many people with stats over 100 since all the stat numbers got lowered… Well, I guess here goes nothing…
"Die!" I shouted, using the usual charge-grasscutter combo I've been using almost the entire time.
And suddenly, Wakker dodges my attack without even looking at it and throws… paint at me?
"Well! I knew you were in town, but I didn't know you liked me that much!"
It didn't even do any -OW WHAT. They're turning into miniature slimes?!
500 damage taken. 10 damage every 5 seconds due to quirk.
Zavvox [4,500/5,000]
Shit. This is the first time one of these managed to give me any trouble… Ooh yeah, this is getting to the good part. I've been dying for a good opponent that wasn't stupidly overtuned...
"Well done," I praised lightly, "It seems as if the ones above truly did give me worthy opponents…"
Wait, that was… reaching the peak modifier, right? Oh come on, that affects my thoughts and speech slightly too?
Well, if it doesn't lead me into suicide, I'll gladly take some dopamine while fighting good opponents. I haven't really enjoyed a fight full on through yet… And the whole point of me picking warrior was so that I could fight like a badass… Well no, I just didn't want to play mage. But a bit of historical revisionism, you know.
5 damage taken.
Zavvox [4,495/5,000]
Ah, right, acid slimes or whatever. This guy won't survive against me for long, he doesn't have permission to kill me.
"Now perish, insignificant being!"
Charging at the hero with Grasscutter straight ahead, he jumps back, but charge keeps following him and I hit him in the chest.
1,500 damage dealt.
Wakker [8,500/10,000]
Wakker grunts, and starts to throw more paint at me at ridiculous speeds, which end up hitting me in the head, forcing me to stumble back a few steps.
300 damage taken.
Zavvox [4,195/5,000]
Alright, shit. I really need to- what the hell is that noise? Quickly looking behind me, I see… Oh, that's why his quirk is named cartoon.
Behind me, there's a whole bunch of level 20 cartoon characters, and I quickly realize I'm going to be overwhelmed if I don't kill this guy quickly.
Alright, new plan, I have a new skill, where I can throw a weapon and have it return to me. Now, here's the fun part. I didn't see it cost stamina.
Using fly to get the height advantage, I start to throw my weapon at Wakker, who starts to dodge, but the weapon actually flies into my hand really quickly, so I keep throwing Grasscutter at him until one fateful hit into the chest.
3000 damage dealt.
Wakker [5,500/10,000]
Oh, this is most definitely going to get patched soon.
I keep throwing my weapon at him until another hits him in the leg.
2500 damage dealt.
Wakker [2,000/10,000]
"Gak!" Wakker yelps and trips at the hit.
Yep, definite nerf. And now, using charge on him, I combined it with execute in order to pierce my spear into his head, killing him instantly.
Wakker has been killed.
You have gained 2000 experience [3436/9205]
Contract: Joy of destruction [8/25]
Same experience as the 7 other heroes I've killed earlier… yay. Also, I really need more experience. Either the contract total needs to go up or else I'm going to have to farm for days to level up once soon…
"My apologies for killing you with such a filthy tactic" I said, somewhat truthful about it. I'd hate to die to a garbage strategy like that… It's just that, you know, I'm the bad guy.
Well, the rest of Endor is still open, might as well keep going.
Akiya
I don't know shit.
How the fuck do I kill an god?!
...I'm losing my temper a bit here. Alright reassess.
I'm 99% sure he's playing on the extreme difficulty, because all the heroes I've seen so far are fluctuating with their stats like no tomorrow, and from the patch notes, I can sort of see that the developers have no idea what to do with the gods as well…
Well, if I get into U.A, there's a bunch of heroes that are like level 80 there… the problem is, I have no idea what level he is right now, so he could be level 100 and I wouldn't know it until it's too late.
...Maybe I could… Alright, put a pin on that thought, it worked once so it might work again.
But my main concern is: there's absolutely no way that's his true form or something. I dunno, I thought a god would be… bigger? They usually have final forms or something… maybe old gods are like that? I don't even know what franchise old gods are from because old gods narrow down what kind of gods they are by exactly nothing.
...Wait, let me check some of those patch notes again…
Old God's imprisoned modifier will now have more prison presets.
...Is he imprisoned? I don't think they would just add that in the patch notes for no reason…
...Wait, if he's stuck in jail somewhere, does that mean… if I kill that guy… he doesn't die? I have to kill some kind of final boss in some random prison in the middle of nowhere that's probably filled with top-level security?
...Fuck. I'm so screwed...
Zavvox
4000 experience gained.
You have leveled up 1x [17 to 17] [231/11,046]
You have gained 10 stat points.
Dex: 20 to 30 [60/240]
Contract: Joy of Destruction [10/25]
Yikes, they really need to give me more experience to tone down the experience I need… Or maybe this is an old god thing.
Suddenly, I get the feeling to look at the sky…
And I see a dragon.
Ryukyu
Hero
Level 75
Quirk: Dragon
Hp: 40,000
Notable stats:
Str: 120
Dex: 150
End: 115
Cha: 100
...Hey, what the fuck?
"Zavvox!" Ryukyu shouted from her little place in the sky, "You will answer for your crimes!"
Now, I have two options here. Either fight her and have an extremely hard time and possibly die, or to run to fight another day.
Now quite frankly, my choice is obvious.
"I answer to no one, mortal!"
This could be my one chance to really feel like a total badass fighting a huge fucking dragon. Why would I not do that? Sure, I might die, but I'll come back in a week. Easy peasy.
Ryukyu obviously wasn't happy about this and started to dive down at me, but that 10 extra stat points I put into dexterity is about to pull its weight massively as I dodged the dive.
Only to get hit by the fucking tail.
300 damage dealt.
Zavvox [4,500/5,000]
Did I mention I hadn't fully recovered from my last bout yet? Insignificant little detail, I promise.
Fortunately, gliding down the street makes you really open from the back, so I take the opportunity to slash her back with Grasscutter.
500 damage dealt.
Ryukyu [39,500/40,000]
...Oh, you know, I think this falls into the category of "unfair fight, run away."
I may like fighting, but I'm not THAT suicidal.
"Hmph, I need to obtain more power… Fine, I shall let you win this fight." I said, quickly giving out an excuse on why I'm about to run like a coward.
And while Ryukyu was trying to turn to face me and fighting against the momentum of her dive, I immediately started to run the other direction into a lot of alleyways.
I guess I'm playing a survival game now...
...Don't I have a phone that has Kurogiri on it?
Pulling out my phone, I use the one number I have saved on the phone, Kurogiri's. A few moments later, his voice shows up.
"Yes, Zavvox?" he says calmly, not knowing of my situation.
"Give me a portal now. I am in an unfavorable situation." I said using all the calm I could muster.
Gamer's mind was useful for that kind of thing.
"Hm, I do not know of your coordinates… Do you? Or perhaps you are on television, as I can use that to calculate your coordinates."
Coordinates? Wait, you're telling me he needs coordinates?! I don't even know how coordinates are calculated!
"I regrettably do not. If it helps, I am in Endor, retreating from my fight with Ryukyu" I said. Kind of embarrassing that I'm running away though...
"Well, if I see you on television, I will be sure to open one for you. If you do not, I will have to wish you good luck in your 'retreat'"
And then he closes the line.
Asshole.
Suddenly, Ryukyu appears in the sky above me again.
"You can't run!" Ryukyu shouts out.
I, a pinnacle of calm and rational thinking, replied with the fullest seriousness possible, "Hmph, try and stop me!"
And then I ran like a little bitch towards the nearest sewer.
My one and only friend, the underground… Welp, time to put my digging skills to use and start digging in a random direction.
Ryukyu
Damn it! He was a bit too fast…
Still, if he ran from me… He can't be too strong. Still though, she might need some help to catch him…
Zavvox
While digging I heard an odd alien-like voice appear into my mind.
My king. We have risen and heard your call…
...Who the heck is this?
We are the zerg you gave to All for One.
...Oh, wait, really? Wait, how much do you know?
We know everything we need to know.
...Oh, that's a bit… Well, don't go snitching on me, I have a character to play, you know.
Of course.
Uh, in other news… Is everything good? Are you guys becoming the army like I imagine you guys to be?
Our hive cluster is going well under way. Also, I believe one of All for One's minions have been watching us.
Well, he's still stupidly powerful, so I can't really stop him… Sure, let him do whatever, but tell me if he does anything suspicious. And also, are you getting the bonuses from my evolution master modifier?
We are currently experimenting to create a perfect version of all the zerg under your command, however, we are unable to go past the limit placed on us. Our larva is also growing at a rapidly fast pace and is being replaced just as fast.
Alright… Sounds good, what's your total number right now?
We have just started 10 minutes ago. We number only 81.
...Oh, that's… slower than I expected. What's the hold up?
Our hatcheries take minutes to build. But the drones only take a few seconds. If we continue our growth and expand across the mountain we are located upon, I believe we can grow to a few thousand within the day.
Did I say slow? I meant fast.
Thank you, my lord.
Keep up the good work… Do any of you have a name?
I am the first queen, I do not require a name, as I will be just one of many.
That's… kind of sad. But that's fine, keep up what you're doing.
Of course, my lord. May the heavens grant you victory over the fool who dares to stand against you.
That… thank you?
Alright, I don't feel a reply coming… So firstly, the zerg are now there, that's great.
Taking control of an overlord they made, which I quickly pondered on how I knew how to do that, but discarding the question to 'you just can.' I looked across the landscape.
So, I roughly know where they are… I don't know the name, but I can sort of feel them…
And also, the creep is now my corruption, so that's great… Well, I guess I'll let them do whatever they want for now, it'll be a while until they get to a size where I can get a lot of experience from them doing their own thing.
Uh, where was I… I guess I'll start to go up.
I dig up and end back up in a city… in an alleyway, conveniently.
Taking out my phone, I see that I'm back in… Musutafu.
It's still roughly the middle of the day…
Agh, couldn't they have made the days go by faster? I never realized this, but 24 hours is a long time to spend, especially considering I never really 'need' sleep, but I just sleep because I want to ignore something badly…
Ah…
Contract: Reigning Emperor completed.
Rewards: 15,000 experience.
You have leveled up 1x [18 to 19] [4185/13225]
You have gained 10 stat points.
Wow, that's sad… uh, dexterity…
Dex: 30 to 40 [80/320]
I seriously need new contracts that give out more experience…
Let's see here… Skryb, what the fuck is this?
Total Annihilation [Skryb]
Completely destroy someone down to their last atom. Make sure that they get completely erased from the history books.
Total erasure [0/1]
Reward: 25,000 experience. 5 gacha tokens.
Make sure that they get disrespected in memory as well.
That's great and all… But I'm a warrior! Someone who uses a spear, no less!
Let's find something more sensible… Oh?
Weapon Binding [Aodare]
Perhaps you like a weapon too much to throw it away? Well, for the low, low price of your soul, you can make it more permanent. No, that's a lie, of course. I just need you to… Ahem, 'test' one of our co-op dungeons that we may or may not have made up on the spot.
Of course, if you end up dying in the dungeon, we'll revive you once for free. After all, this is a prototype. We don't even know if this is a good idea or not. We may just scrap it entirely later on.
The teleportation stone will be given to you when you begin the contract. Don't worry about wait times.
Co-op dungeon completion [0/1]
Reward: Weapon bind stone, 30,000 experience.
Well, this is pretty interesting. They want to try out some kind of co-op thing? I think I'm more excited about the experience rather than the actual co-op though… Maybe I'll be able to compare notes with other players?
Ooh, maybe my old god form will be able to fight something interesting! Oh wait, I should bring both my forms then, right? Hold on, gotta run back to Alrodar!
Omake
Corobos
"Wow" one of the players said to him while his summon was destroying the samurai coming after them, "You're pretty strong!"
I wasn't doing anything, I was just standing here and letting my summon do all the work... Maybe throwing in the occasional fire spell here and there, but nothing much.
"Yes, I suppose I am." I said with the utmost seriousness on my face.
It's hilarious! You're like the other god in the game!
...How do you know that?
Oh, the developers let me take a peek at the other matches earlier. I can't tell you what I saw though, soz.
Oh, of course… I should mentally send him my condolences.
He's a villain, you know. Actually, he's doing a lot better than you, I'd say…
Good for him, then.
I lied, he's actually doing pretty shit.
Then my condolences, of course.
You're booorrriiiing!
If it pisses you off so much, I'll be as boring as possible.
I hate you.
Likewise.
And behold, I'll hold off the 2 players meeting by making Zavvox go through a mini-arc where I'll have 4 players work together to go through a dungeon!
Could this be a terrible idea and set me back all the way to step 1? Possibly, but I randomly thought of the idea and I said "I gotta do this."
That's also the same way on how I decided to upload fanfics in the first place, which turned out to be a terrible idea, so it's probably fine.
I could probably force it into 1 chapter and call it a day, the hardest part about it would just be coming up with somewhat believable characters to be the other players.
And of course, the last resort if nobody likes the idea is to just completely delete the last part of this chapter, change the omake a bit, and I'll be fine.
So, as usual, leave a review, hand me your names, give me some ideas or something, tell me this is a terrible idea and you just want Akiya to appear in front of Zavvox or something, all is fair in the reviews section.
