Zavvox
Contract completed: Weapon Binding.
Rewards: Weapon binding stone, 35,000 experience.
You have leveled up 2x [19 to 21] [8068/23,285]
You have gained 20 stat points.
You have gained skill: Whisper.
Can you feel the metaphorical tears coming out of my eyes at the amount of experience I need to level up? Anyways, put the 20 points into… Eh, strength, and check that skill.
Str: 100 to 120 [240/960]
[Whisper - allows you to communicate with another person in their minds. Costs 500 mana to use. You may only communicate with people you know the location of.]
...That's a limit? Well, I guess the communication is nice… Uh, regardless, I think I saw something in the dungeon that clarifies how to kill the other player, so before I check the binding stone, let me look at that really quickly…
The Enemy
Kill the other player.
Rules: Don't be friends with the other player. You must show up to their death and at the very least show your face to them.
If you break the rules, you're either going to die, or be put back into the system as level one.
In extreme cases, you may end up just losing the game.
Reward: Standard System, 1,500,000 experience, The other player.
Well… So show up to their funeral? I guess that puts a limit on summoners by just sending wave after wave at the enemy… They need to show up or something.
Probably no problem for me, considering I'm a warrior. I'll just have to mentally command my minions not to kill the other player once I find him.
Now, disregarding that, the weapon binding stone?
[Weapon Binding Stone - Once the stone touches a weapon, the weapon will bind to your soul and will scale according to your level.]
So… It makes my weapon better? Well, grasscutter, you've been needing an upgrade for a while, I guess.
Grasscutter has been bound to your soul.
[Zavvox's Grasscutter - Suffice to say not many armies will be standing after a cut. Deals level/3 times STR void damage. [Ex: 21/3 = 7STR void damage.] Can be further upgraded by leveling up.]
That… description is confusing… So… It divides my level by 3, and then since I'm level 21, that makes 7… and it multiplies it by my strength to make it do big damage… and also void damage?
What the heck does void damage even do? Is that a good thing? I mean, Grasscutter got cooler, it became black and green with a bit of corruption on it, but void damage?
Ah… You know what, I'll just swing it.
Holding up Grasscutter in my mortal form's hand, I slash it downwards to… create a hole in time and space? I don't know how to describe it, all I know is that it looked wicked cool.
Yeah, I think this is a major upgrade and can't see anything going wrong with this.
System Updated
Title - Co-op dungeons results.
Eh? I mean, sure I guess…
Hello our beautiful prototype players! Did you enjoy the co-op experience? You probably didn't, considering on average 88% of the player base had some level of dislike towards the experience. In fact, most of you just enjoyed finally meeting another player, since many of you haven't met your enemy yet. So in total, this idea is going into the "Cool idea, might try again later." box. But safe to say you're all never going to see it again, and the second wave of players we grab will have to deal with it! Of course, we made some adjustments to some other things as well, so check it out! - Gaienyan
Well, at least I wasn't alone in kind of disliking that… Well, it's nice that the developers aren't cruel enough to make us go through with that again.
General [PvP, Health, Contracts, Experience gain, Critical hits, Difficulty]
Classes [Warrior, Mages, Rogues, Rangers.]
Worlds [Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact, Minecraft, Historical Worlds]
Species [Slimes, Parasites]
Changes for the next version of the system [A.K.A not for you, but for the next generation.]
Well, that bottom part is unique, but I think I'll just keep going top bottom…
Damage dealt to players has been decreased from 50% to 75%.
Damage dealt to players at demi-god or above has been increased to 25% instead of 50%
All health stats for those at ranks enhanced mortal and below have been increased.
While the scaling was perfectly fine against non-player characters, the difference in health some players had over others was a bit too much. - Sentrot
Contract experience gain has been increased.
Experience gained from doing heroic/villainous deeds have been increased on hard difficulties or above.
Critical hit damage has been decreased. It will keep its effect of going through the combat shield.
Fixed an issue where on the extreme difficulty, where many enemy characters would keep talking about going after you, but never actually going after you.
Hey… Does that solve my experience issue? Probably not, but it's going to be great, I can feel it. It's a bit sad that my enemy is probably going to benefit the most from the whole damage changing thing, but then again, I was vastly outclassing everyone else in that party… Well, I'm basically 2 players in one right now anyways, it's probably fair.
Uh, other than that… Warrior class?
Removed return throw.
Basically magic anyways. You don't need it. - Himera
Lowered damage weapon specialists can do using their limbs.
Ouch, keep nerfing me indirectly, why don't you… Ugh, the thing at the bottom?
Changes for the future that won't affect you since it's for the next batch of players, but you can send feedback about it.
Removes Demi-god and above species from species list.
Adds a more functional Co-Op system.
Allows multiple players in one world.
Full life memories at the start.
Support section in the class selection menu.
Different groups of players rather than only villains and heroes.
Well… I guess it's alright. None of this will actually affect me anyways… Although, I do enjoy the experience of being an old god, but I do understand why it's a bit hard to balance...
Um, what now, I didn't expect to make it this far… Huh, I guess I can take on another contract since I just finished that one… Let's see here… This one sounds easy.
Staying Up [Paradise]
Stay awake for 24 straight hours.
There's always a situation where someone needs to stay up 24 hours, most are not prepared, so why not prepare?
Reward: 1 gacha token.
You would be surprised how many people sleep every night despite not needing it due to gamer's body.
See, quick, easy, and some other adjectives.
You have accepted a contract: Staying up.
Alright! Uh, let me look at my zerg from the eyes of my overlords… Yep, it's a lot bigger than I last saw it, and it looks like the hatcheries are all varied in size… Maybe they can fit a couple in my prison, just for the extra defense.
It's also night, so I might as well survey the area around Musutafu a bit more…
Akiya
Well… That was a gigantic waste of her time! I mean, it was cool seeing other players, but they were kind of crazy…
Ugh, let's see… It's night now, she should just go grind some more experience before the entrance exams…
Hm, maybe she should just bring along Himiko too…
Zavvox
The night sky is always so nice looking… U.A is also looking pretty good in the distance as well. It's reputation is pretty deserved if I do say so myself.
Well, he should just go look around, maybe catch a hero or two off-guard… Like that person over there!
Two people, both wearing some kind of hood and mask, looked pretty cool actually. One even was carrying a sword! Maybe he could finally face some kind of warrior hero!
Getting closer to them I used observe on the shorter one.

[Modifier "Main Antagonist" is in effect.]
Oh.
Shit.
They both seemed to have noticed me and turned in my direction. Toga tilted her head at the sight of me, but Akiya got extremely tense presumably when she first observed me.
...Who would've thought we would've randomly met on some random rooftops. Holding out Grasscutter, I mentally prepare myself an-
"Wait!" Akiya cried out in some distorted female voice, making me stop in place for a moment, "2 minute truce to… Y'know?"
...Hah? Oh, I guess she wants to check the modifiers a bit more? I mean… If we're fighting immediately afterwards, I guess.
"Very well," I called out, "But you are an extremely dead woman soon after."
I've also realized that she's female. I was thinking she was male, but I guess we all make mistakes sometimes.
She's still dead though.
[Reputable Family - You come from a reputable family, thus any suspicions on you are quickly dispersed unless confronted with major evidence.]
[Talk-No-Jutsu - Be able to talk people out of things like a god. Cause heroes to go bad, cause villains to go good, anything is possible!... At the cost of their characterization.]
[I Am Here - Anyone near you will feel safe around you. Good things happen to you regularly]
[Blessed By Lady Luck - Your luck is multiplied by 10.]
[Minor Sin of Gluttony - You occasionally have huge bouts of hunger that will persist for a while until you eat. A lot.]
[Saving Extravaganza - The more people you save in a row, the more experience you get, potentially making your levels skyrocket.]
[Secret Society - You cannot tell anyone about the system or its players, otherwise you will suffer a permanent 50% stat debuff. System will notify you if you are about to trigger this modifier.]
[Controlled Magic - You are able to fully control where your magic abilities go.]
[Sword Mage - Instead of staves and books, you use swords.]
What the FUCK? This girl's modifiers are stacked!
The only saving grace here is that I have a lot more health than her, and I also can throw away this mortal form pretty easily… But still! The only real bad modifiers I can see there is secret society! The gluttony one isn't even that bad!
But still… If I keep talking about the system, maybe I'll be able to bait her into saying something about it? After all, Toga's right there… Which, fuck, by the way. That's one of my key allies gone.
Ugh… I'll just keep hitting her until she dies. We both do 75% less damage anyways… It still won't save her from me kicking her ass.
I do wonder though, what's in her thoughts?

[Main antagonist - All protagonist(s) gain a 100% stat boost when fighting against you.]
[Look at me monologuing! - Your monologues will never be interrupted]
[Weapon master - You have instant mastery over your chosen specialty type.]
[To reach the peak - you have an innate instinct within you to fight other warriors and to come out on top.]
[Sturdy - you are unable to be 1-shot.]
[Wanna-be Villain - You speak like a stereotypical evil god character. Thoughts are unaffected. If you do not speak for long enough, you will begin to randomly say words that will be detrimental to you.]

[Evolution master - all minions you create will be able to breed 3 times as quickly and will be able to minorly change their appearances to adapt to their situation.]
Fuck… I was actually right! He has some kind of true form that's stuck in prison! This guy is just an extra body or something! Killing it does nothing!
What if he already has some kind of big army waiting?! I mean, what else can I exploit?! 5th rate manipulator?! All that means is that he probably won't be able to steal my own allies!
100% stat boost for me? Who cares?! If I beat him here, he'll have an army on me within the day!
Ahh! She's so doomed! I really need to grab some of the top heroes to kill this guy… Wait, I don't even know where his prison is!
Why did he have to pick a warrior?! That's one of the worst options for her, since it means even if I get to his body, I'll have to fight it in a super enclosed area!
You know, the perfect place to fight for warriors!
She needs to run… Just grab Himiko and start dashing…
Zavvox
...Has it been 2 minutes? Agh, who cares, I'll just say something and attack…
"Akiya…" I started, "I shall grant you two options. Bow before me and die. Or attempt to fight against me and die."
It would be pretty convenient to have it end quickly...
Unfortunately, Akiya didn't really see it my way, "Nope! I recognize a losing fight when I see one. I'm out of here!"
Suddenly, she grabs Himiko's arms and her hands start glowing.
Wait, Shit. That's some kind of teleport move.
Not wanting this to happen, I used charge and tried to get her, but despite my best efforts, her teleport spell was too fast and within a sudden purple flash, she disappeared from in front of my eyes…
Only to teleport just a few rooftops away, Akiya telling Himiko to hurry up and run in the opposite direction of where I am.
Oh, no, you piece of shit. You aren't going to run against me, this fight's only just begun…
Who the fuck runs from a fight they have a good shot at winning anyways?
Akiya
FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK.
"Akiya! Why are we running!?" Himiko asked loudly, "You were able to take on a lot of people before! What's the difference this time!?"
Now, how do I phrase this to not activate my secret society modifier…
"This guy is powerful as all hell! And we're not ready to fully kill him yet!" I said, making something up on the spot.
Turning back… FUCK, WHY CAN HE FLY?!
Shit, is that a skill?! Can I teleport enough times to outrun him!?
My group teleport costs too much mana to fight and run at the same time…
Ah… Alright, plan B!
"Change of plans, Himiko!" I shouted and turned to face Zavvox, Himiko looking confused at my 180 in demeanor, "We're fighting him head on!"
Zavvox's intimidating flying form in front of the full moon looks creepy as fuck.
Maybe I made a mistake when he somehow managed to frame himself into the moon this perfectly…
Zavvox
Good! She's deciding to stand her ground and fight!
"Now die, you pathetic mortal!" I shouted, charging straight at her.
Immediately, she shot off some kind of arcane bolt, which I couldn't dodge and hit me for a chunk.
450 damage taken.
Zavvox [4,550/5,000]
A tiny and insignificant chunk! My momentum kept going until Himiko decided to block the blow with her own body.
...What.
2,000 damage dealt.
Himiko Toga [28,000/30,000]
The fuck. How long has she known Akiya for her to do that?!
"Hmph, how long have you known this mortal for you to willingly take the blow?" I asked, somewhat curious and somewhat afraid at the power of talk-no-jutsu.
"One day!" Himiko said before throwing a knife that I dodged.
What. The. Fuck? A SINGLE DAY?! Fuck, why is talk-no-jutsu that strong?! That's some kind of childhood friend thing right there and she does it after knowing her after a day?!
Pulling back Grasscutter for another blow, I strike from the side at Akiya, only for her to duck under the strike and she throws another spell at me.
450 damage taken.
Zavvox [4,100/5,000]
Alright, on second thought, this is going absolutely fucking terrible. She essentially has a 30k health shield in front of her, and all I can do is try to go past it, but Akiya is actually somewhat decent at dodging…
Alright, I'll run at 2k health. Until then, I fight.
"You merely delay the inevitable!" I said before flying back for another charge.
"You do like your own voice, huh!" Akiya shouted back.
Rude, I do actually like my voice, it's actually pretty cool sounding… Also, I'm just making sure Wanna-be villain doesn't act up.
It's not because I think I sound cool. Trust me, myself.
Putting those thoughts aside, I used another charge at them, dodging the next spell that Akiya threw at me, and despite Himiko's best efforts to block that hit, I managed to hit Akiya.
600 damage dealt.
Akiya [2,900/3,500]
That's… exceedingly not good. As I pull back from the hit, I idly realize that I need some kind of critical hit to be able to really secure a kill…
That is, until Akiya hits me with a bigger arcane blast than before, causing me to get pushed back several meters.
Critical hit taken.
1,000 damage taken.
Zavvox [3,100/5,000]
SHE FUCKING WHAT?! Looking down at my torso where I was hit, I realized that the area was actually smoking in damage… Shit. I couldn't really feel the pain because of gamer's mind, but it mentally did a lot. This girl was only the slightest bit competent and is being fully carried by luck.
Looking up and dodging the next spell, I start to call it a day and retreat.
"You may have gotten lucky this time, Akiya!" I shouted out, "But I will strike decisively next time we meet!"
Akiya and Himiko seemed to start relaxing, how insulting…
And how anticlimactic for the entire fight to be decided by a random crit…
Akiya
I did it?
Watching Zavvox's retreating form, I realized it.
I did it. Thanks to the power of friendship, and luck, I got out of that fight alive…
"Himiko…" I said, "This is probably not the last time we'll see him. Let's head back home."
God, she loved luck. The best stat in life, no doubt.
Himiko was still slightly left in a confused mess over this whole ordeal.
"The heck just happened? I don't understand it..." she asked no one.
Zavvox
Back in my cell at Alrodar, I idly realized I should probably cover up the entrance to this place… I also should probably ask for some drones to come in here…
Ugh, there's actually a lot of things I need to do.
Akiya, you may have gotten lucky this time, but if you're going to rely on luck every fight, that luck is going to run out soon.
Probably.
I hope, anyways. It would be bad game design if she just gets critical hits that end every fight for free…
Then again, this is the same developer team that let Skryb join it. I might have too high hopes for this…
God, he hates mages.
Corobos
"Burn in the flames of my wrath!" I shouted to the enemy player whose name I've already forgotten, coating him in red flames.
Yes! Yes! Bring out that chaotic side! Burn your enemy into ashes!
Shut it, system! Let me enjoy this for once!
After all, there are a scant few things that could really survive me…
And the rising form of my enemy coming out of my flames is simply magnificent to look at.
This is an extremely enjoyable battle. The best I've had since coming into this world. I'll take great joy in killing him.
If you're curious, yes, I did somewhat regret chapter 10 when I woke up, but I'll just… comfortably ignore it from now on.
And while I do think I should've come up with a better way to end that fight, I think a random crit would really solidify how much she's going to be carried by the 400 luck she's getting from both her modifier and main antagonist.
Also, the other options would be to give her a get out of jail free card in either the form of a long range group teleport or a huge shield like I did last fic. Maybe there's something else, like Toga actually hitting Zavvox and doing a surprising amount of damage, forcing him to retreat, I thought it would've been a bit boring to just say Toga carried the fight.
Well, that's what the review function is for, telling me whether random crits are fair and balanced.
Also, the consistency in my writing is almost nonexistent. Do I make Zavvox some kind of fighting fanatic? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Do I make Akiya talk consistently? Sometimes no, sometimes yes. Do I make anyone even consistent at all? Sometimes no, sometimes yes. Mostly no.
I really need a more solid grasp on how I write my OCs, or just any character in general.
