Hi, everyone! The name's TrustTheCloak, otherwise known as Trick. I am a college student currently earning an Animal Science degree, while also working a full time job as the assistant trainer/manager at a busy horse stable. This unfortunately leaves me little time to write, but I do try my best to produce new content as often as I am able to. I greatly appreciate the support I've received on this site; I don't often get around to replying to people, but know that I excitedly read every review and gratefully acknowledge every follow and favorite. You, readers, are my motivation!

I mainly write Ranger's Apprentice, with the majority of my stories being based on Halt and Gilan. I love their relationship, but can't help but feel that is it somewhat lacking development in the books. Most of my fanfiction is dedicated to exploring their relationship and giving it more depth than is seen in the books. I also love the Halt and Crowley dynamic. Once again, I feel like it is a relationship with a lot of potential that doesn't really get tapped into in the books, though the newer Early Years series does remedy it slightly.

*The Dilemma that is Gilan's Age*

Gilan's age suffers from discrepancies in the book series. After piecing together information, I have come to the conclusion that the age for Gilan that most fits the books timeline (apart from the Battle of Hackham Heath; darn it, Flanagan) is five years old than Will. Five years older than Will is the age that I will always write him, as it makes the most sense in my mind. Apologies if you disagree with my thought process, but understand that I have my reasons and probably won't be changing them anytime soon.

I write a lot of hurt/comfort... so much that it overreaches the logical whump capacity of our darling characters. As such, please take each with the understanding that they may be happening in alternate universes (They'd better be, anyway, because Gilan would otherwise be very dead with the amount of pain that I've put him through!) It's what I like to write, and writing is a form of escape and enjoyment for me... I suffer from enough writer's block as it is without trying to push myself to write pieces that I don't even feel inclined to create.
