Chapter 4: The Battle Within Metropolis! A Rageful Beast Awakened? And The Three Kings! Part 1
Wonder Woman and Kara had landed in Metropolis, it was daytime where they were and they could see the Skullship floating above the city as hundreds of drones were gathering humans.
"Where should we start?" Kara asked. "Diana? We don't have time…"
"Batman's strategy is all wrong. Delaying our offensive is pointless." Wonder Woman said, not liking Batman's plan. "It's one less an hour before Brainiac sends us all to Hades. Saving these people could doom billions more." She said, not seeing her warp way of thinking.
"I can hear people down there. All of them. They're afraid, just like I was on Krypton, when I didn't have these powers. And I look at us and just think… We can give them hope." Kara said, look at the Skullship and then the people.
The drones were herding the people along somewhere, until one of them was scooped up into the air by none other than Wonder Woman with Kara by her side.
"Up here." Wonder Woman told them, as they looked up she crushed the drone's skull with her bare hand.
The drone fired orange lasers from their eyes, Kara and Wonder Woman charged in and started taking out the drones one at a time with ease.
"Why are they so afraid of us?" Kara asked, confused. Then was hit in the chest by an intense energy blast and sent flying.
"Minerva." Wonder Woman said with a sneer.
"Welcome back, Diana." Cheetah said, wielding a big gun.
Wonder Woman charged at Cheetah with the intent of killing her but Cheetah fired the big gun once more and sent her flying into a building, she blocked the blast with her shield so she was unharmed. She let out a groan and got up, a man inside the building aimed a shotgun at her but both of them heard noise coming from a door and turned their attention, the door began to freeze and then burst into pieces, the man with a shotgun hid behind the counter. A yellow blur came speeding out the door entrance and spun around Wonder Woman and hit her over and over.
"Your heart's so cold, Wonder Woman. Let's put you on ice." Captain Cold said, walking through the door entrance and the yellow blur was revealed to be Reverse Flash, he sped over to Captain Cold's side. Snart then fired a freeze blast but Wonder Woman deflected it with her bracelets and it hit Reserve Flash instead. "Nice rope-a-dope."
"Give up your code of honor, Snart? Why lower yourself to work for Grodd?" Wonder Woman asked.
"You're not so pure, Amazon. You-you "executed" Golden Glider. She… was my sister." Captain Cold said, getting emotional.
"A sister you led into a life of crime. She paid for your mistake." Wonder Woman said without care.
Captain Cold fired another freeze at Wonder Woman after she said that, Wonder Woman blocked with her shield and charged forward and tried to cut down Captain Cold with her sword but he made a wall of ice to block. Wonder Woman shatter the wall of ice with a kick and swung her sword at Captain Cold once more but he jump back and fired a few ice ball but they were cut to piece with a swing of her sword and used her lasso to wrap it around Captain Cold and slams him into the floor and put him close and delivers a strong kick and sent flying to a wall, the ice base criminal let out a grunt of pain, Wonder Woman charge forward and nearly stabbed Snart in the chest but he roll out the way and freezes Wonder Woman's legs, leaving her stuck. He then gets behind her and pistol whip his freeze gun across her a few good times, Wonder Woman lets out a grunt of pain and breaks free and swings her shield to Captain Cold's face and sends him flying and hitting another wall, blood dripping down his nose and his whole body was in pain a bit. Wonder Woman charged forward and nearly slash Captain Cold's head off with her sword but he dodge and shot a freeze blast in the air and created an icicle, it fell and nearly pierce her head but she used her shield to block. Captain Cold got up and fired multiple freeze blasts, Wonder Woman dodge them all and swung her sword at him but he blocked with his freeze gun but it got cut in half and broke it, Wonder Woman delivers a firm punch to his face and knocks him out.
"My condolences." Wonder Woman said coldly.
Wonder Woman was about to finish Captain Cold off but she heard something and turned and saw the freeze form of Reverse Flash begin to vibrate with red bolts and shatter, releasing him from his icy prison.
"Eobard Thawne, right? Barry said you're some kind of time traveler." Wonder Woman stated.
"Yeah. And let me tell you about the future. You think you're immortal. But in my time, Diana… you're quite dead." Reverse Flash told her.
Reverse Flash sped right to him and delivers a fast punch to Wonder Woman's face then sped around her and hits her in the back of her head and the once again hits her face and sent hitting a wall, Wonder Woman get up and wipe blood her from her nose and put up a guard as Reverse Flash spun around her and assaults her with fast punches all over her body. She waited for the right moment and cut Reverse Flash across the right side of his torso, he was able to see the attack so he moved his body just in time to receive a shallow wound, he winced in pain and glared at her. Wonder Woman charge forward and tries to slash him with her sword but Reverse Flash makes his body see-through by vibrating at the right frequency and Diana end up going through him, this leave her open for getting hit punch in the face by a fast punch and then follow up with a fast kick to the gut, making Wonder Woman let out a grunt of pain. Reverse Flash unleashes a barrage of fast punches that battered all over the Amazon's body, Wonder Woman let out a grunt of pain as she was sent skidding back. Reverse Flash rushed at her once more to pummel her but Wonder Woman threw her shield at him and hit him in the face and left him disoriented and open to receive a combo of punches and finish up with a kick to the abdomen. While the speedster was getting up Wonder Woman wrapped her lasso around Reverse Flash and threw him into a wall, she then pulled him forward and delivered a strong punch to the face and sent him slamming into the wall once more, he leaned against it, knocked out.
"An oracle you are not." Wonder Woman told him.
Wonder Woman would have killed the two villains but complied with Batman's no kill rule, for now. She began to walk out but didn't see the light green mist from around her, she felt a bit lightheaded but that was all.
"Diana, you're safe! Thank Rao." Superman said, floating down.
"We have to find Kara, she's-" Wonder Woman tried to tell him.
"We will." Superman told her, but he put his hands on her waist.
"Clark, we don't have time for-" Wonder Woman told him, trying to resist.
"Please, I've missed you." Superman told her.
"We can beat them, Kal. Brainiac, Batman, and that punk, they all go down today." Wonder Woman told him, softly.
"And we'll rule, side by side, as equals." Superman told her.
"And lovers." Wonder Woman told him, about to kiss him.
But Superman's eyes glowed red and he shot her with his heat vision and blasted into a wall.
"I turned to you when Lois died. You took advantage of me. Manipulated my grief…" Superman said with hatred and sorrow, causing Woman Woman to look at him with heartbreak. "Turned me into someone I wasn't meant to be!" He shouted, slamming her against the wall.
"That's not true. My love made you stronger." Wonder Woman told him.
"Is that what you tell yourself?" Superman said with a sneer.
Superman let out a gasp as he looked down and saw Wonder Woman's sword in his gut, she thrust the blade deeper into his gut and whispered in his ear.
"That's what Superman told me, Scarecrow." Wonder Woman said, not pleased.
After that, Wonder Woman woke up to a room full of his fear toxins, Scarecrow stood in the middle of the mist of fear toxins.
"Hehehaha. You're not afraid of Superman, you're afraid you corrupted him." Scarecrow said, intrigue. "Brave hero. Your worst fear is being the villain of the story." He stated, making an accurate conclusion.
"To Hades with your mind games." Wonder Woman said in anger.
"Classic anger displacement." Scarecrow stated, then sprayed more fear toxin and took his nightmarish form. "We should continue your therapy."
In her anger fuel state, Diana charge and swung her sword with the intent of killing him but Scarecrow blocked with his hook and taunted with a stream of mocking laughter and spray more fear toxin from his mouth into her fear, making cough and blinding her for a bit and swung his hook and get her in the right leg, piercing her and making her scream and pain, he pull and causes her to fall onto her back. Crane pick up a chair and slams it onto her then follows up by swinging down his hook to her neck but block with her shield and sweep his leg and tries to stab him in the gut but Scarecrow roll out the way and cuts her across her left leg with his hook, he got to his feet and his her with another chair, Wonder Woman let out a sneer of anger and throws her shield into his face and then beat the shit out of him by throwing punch after punch to his face, making him grunt in pain and stagger. She would have continued but she got hit in the face with another spray of fear toxin and got hit with his hook and got tossed across the room. Wonder Woman was pissed, she pulled out her sword and charged right at him and let out a battle cry and swung it down at him but he blocked with his hook but shattered on impact, he looked shocked and didn't have time to react as Diana hit him in the face with a rage filled punch! He hits the floor and lays there, unable to fight.
"This therapy session's over." Wonder Woman stated.
Scarecrow was now back to normal, he was laying on the floor in pain and tried to hit Wonder Woman with more fear toxins but she slash his hand, causing him to grab it and scream in pain. She had her blade aimed at him, very tempted to finish off this scum for his mind games on her. Meanwhile with Kara, she was trying to recover after the blast from Cheetah but fell to the ground with exhaustion.
"Girl of Steel. You are rare, very rare. No wonder Brainiac wants you… Dead or alive." Cheetah said, walking up to her. "Kryptonian are vulnerable to magic…" She said, cutting Kara's cheek with her claw. "And these claws cut… like magic." She said, digging her claws into her side.
Cheetah was going to take her time in killing Kara but Diana flies down and knocks Cheetah off her and sends her skidding across the ground and checks on Kara.
"Hang in there, Kara. The gods will protect us." Wonder Woman told her.
"Grrr…" Cheetah said in pain, clenching her dislocated shoulder and slams it against a stone column to relocate.
"Minerva. I'm surprised someone so feral still follows Grodd's orders." Wonder Woman told her.
"No, Princess. I only joined Grodd to draw out my own quarry… You." Cheetah told her, a sinister grin on her face.
"A fool's errand. Like when you sought a God's power, but found the Cheetah's curse." Wonder Woman told her.
"More like the Cheetah's gift, I'm stronger, faster- and thirsty. So thirsty… for Amazon blood!" Cheetah said with an animalistic look in her eyes.
Wonder Woman and Cheetah look each other in the eye with great intensity, neither of them made a move. The one to make the first move would either end in a clean hit or a fatal injury, Cheetah made the first move! She closes the distance with a leap and goes for a right swing aimed for Diana's neck but the Amazon saw this and dodge and counter with a swing of her sword right to Cheetah's neck but she blocks with her claws and jumps back. Wonder Woman wasn't planning on letting her get away so easily and close the distance and tried to cut her once more with her sword but Cheetah swayed out the way and lost a few strands of her hair and counter with a kick but it was blocked by the Amazon's arm. Cheetah backed up from Wonder Woman and get on all four and lunge right at her but the Amazon Princes block the claws with her shield and counter with a kick to the face and followed up with kick to the gut and knocked her back, Cheetah slid across the ground and spit a bit of her blood to the ground and get to her feet and charge forward right at her and jump over her and slash her across the back with her claws and drew blood, she licked them and gave Wonder Woman a dark smirk. Diana frown and charge forward and first throws her shield to the ground so it would ricochet off it and hit Cheetah in the face and then swung her sword at her, she sways out the way so only her cheek was slash and hit Diana with a combo of punches a knocked her away with a strong kick to the face.
Wonder Woman got up and spit blood to the ground, and narrowed her eyes and jumped into the air and swung down her sword, Cheetah back away and countered with a left slash with her claw to her neck but Diana parried it and cut her across the right shoulder. Cheetah wince in pain and attacks with another strong kick but it deflect and Wonder Woman countered with strong kick her own right to the gut then grabs her by the hair and punch her across the face and pull out her lasso and wrap it around the feline villain and swung her into the ground then pull her within striking range and unleash a painful combo of punches, sending her to the ground once more batter and bruised. Cheetah out a grunt of pain and spit up some blood, she let out growl of frustration, she get on all four legs once more and lunge forward like a wild cat and was all over the place, she slash and cut into Wonder Woman's body soon covering her in cut that cause her blood to leak out and drip to the ground, Diana swung her sword and attack with either punches or kicks but Cheetah was moving too wild and fast to hit. Cheetah lands a punch to her face and when Wonder Woman tries to cut her with her sword Cheetah dodge and stabs her in the gut with her claws and follow up with a kick to the chin, making Diana grunt in pain and fall to one of her knees, Cheetah goes for her neck once more but Wonder Woman blocked and slams her shield into her face and hit her with attacks with a flurry of sword swings, leaving cuts all over her body and cause her blood to drip to the ground. Cheetah let out a feral growl and shot the Amazon an animalistic glare while Wonder Woman let out a sneer of anger and had a heated glare. Both females lunge at each other with a battle cry, the cut and slash into each other with Cheetah using her claws while Wonder Woman used her sword, it was clear they were trying to kill each other but they either dodged fatal wounds or they were too shallow. Wonder Woman swung her sword at her neck but Cheetah jump over and slams the back of her head into the solid ground and tries slit her throat but Diana slams her shield into her face once more and knock her to the ground, Wonder Woman quickly gets to her feet and hit her across the face with a powerful punch! Cheetah skids across the ground into a stone column, she tries to get to her feet but falls to her hands and feet in defeat.
"You want blood?!" Wonder Woman asked with a sneer. "Your curse can never be undone. This is the peace you deserve." She said, picking her up by the neck. Meanwhile Kara was getting up, able to recover thanks to the rays of the sun.
"Y'all right, Blondie?" Harleen asked, checking on her. "Sit tight…" She told her, seeing that Wonder Woman was about to kill Cheetah but shot the sword out of her hand. "She's had enough, Wonder Bread."
"This isn't your business, Clown." Wonder Woman said, unpleased.
"You heard Bats. No killing." Harleen reminded her.
"You lecture me? How much blood is on your ledger, Quinn?" Wonder Woman asked in suppressed anger.
"Oh, buckets full, honey. I was tryn' too hard too impressed the wrong guy. Kinda like you with Superman." Harleen told her, seriously. "But I met the right guy and now I couldn't be any more happy." She said, thinking fondly of Okuyasu.
Wonder Woman felt a nerve get strike and snap in a fit of anger! She tossed Cheetah to the side and picked up her sword and charged at her, Harleen shot right at her but they were deflected by her bracelets and stabbed her right through the torso!
"No!" Kara shouted, and knocked Diana back with a punch. "You're losing a lot of blood. This is gonna hurt. A lot." She told Harleen.
"Heh… even better. J-Just be gentle…" Harleen told her, putting a hand on her abdomen. Kara used her heat vision to seal the wound, the female clown let out a cry of pain.
"What do you think you're doing, Kara?" Wonder Woman asked, recovering from the blow.
"Stopping you before you make a mistake." Kara told her.
"That lunatic deserves to die." Wonder Woman told her.
"Maybe. But she's defenseless. She had no trial…" Kara told her. "You told me Amazons fought with honor."
Kara didn't want to do this but had no choice, she couldn't let Wonder Woman kill Harleen, it just wasn't right how she did it. So as Wonder Woman charges forward and throws a punch the female Krypton dodge and delivers a firm and strong counter punch right to her face, knocking her back, the Amazon goes for another punch but Kara blocks and hit her with another strong punch, Wonder Woman let out a mix of pain and anger then tries to kick Kara but she ducks under it and counter with a strong uppercut, knocking her to the ground once more. Wonder Woman picks herself up and continues to throw punches and kicks but thanks to all of Diana's teaching, Kara had a good idea of her fighting style and how to fight back. She is able to block and counter Wonder Woman's move and push her back plus she is still winded from fighting Cheetah, she couldn't fight to the fullest. Wonder Woman was sent skidding back as she took another one of Kara's strong punches to the face; the young hero didn't wish to hurt Diana too badly. So Kara ready herself as Wonder Woman was panting and recovering and charging at her and throws a strong punch at her but Kara dodge and hits her right in the gut with a much stronger punch sending her skidding a bit, she coughs up blood and falls to her knees, exhausted and injured.
"I trusted you, Diana." Kara said, feeling betrayed. She picks up Harleen and flies off. "You're gonna be okay. I'll get you some help, Kal can protect you."
"Superman? Oh, Blondie. Yer funny." Harleen said weakly. "Just… get me… home." She told Kara, then passed out.
Harleen's last thoughts were on Okuyasu, she was wondering what her Puddin was doing right now, was he safe? How would he react if he saw her like this? Is he strong enough to handle it?
Meanwhile earlier back in Gotham city, the punk was paired up with Starfire in cleaning up the leftover drone. Okuyasu was wearing his "Super Slayer" and was smashing drones left and right with heavy punches and kicks while Starfire was firing star bolts at whole groups of drones. More drone benign to swarm and circle the duo, Okuyasu and Starfire attack the drones, Okuyasu smash one of the drone's head in, Starfire punch her fist through another drone's chest, Okuyasu kick one of the drone's head off, Starfire blast one of the drones to pieces with a star bolt. The two worked well together, almost as well in sync as him and Harleen, they were covering each other's backs while tearing Brainiac's drone to scrap metal.
"I think that was the last of them, for now at least." Okuyasu said, pulling out one of his Black Talons blades from the metal skull of a drone.
"I do believe the so." Starfire said, looking at the remains of the drones. "Now the what?" She asked him.
"Evacuate the people as quickly as possible." Okuyasu told her.
The two begin helping the people of Gotham to safety while they do so, Okuyasu got a call from the Nijimura Clan hideout, he pressed a few buttons on the gauntlet of his suit and answered the call..
"What up?" Okuyasu asked.
*Intrudes! They just stormed the hideout and are taking everyone out!* A member told him, before Okuyasu could ask for more it was cut out.
"Shit. Now of all times…" Okuyasu cursed.
"Go. I can handle the evacuation." Starfire told her.
"Thanks." Okuyasu said, grateful.
He then pulled out a grappling hook to save fuel for when he really needed flight mode. He swung from building to building until he made it to his Clan's hideout.
"Inside, Black Manta and Mr. Freeze were attacking members of Okuyasu's clan, they tried to fight back to the best of their ability but were no match for the super villains. They were each frozen or hit by laser vision, one of the clan members was injured and was trying to get away but Mr. Freeze aimed his freeze gun at them. He was about to freeze them but a black figure appeared and kicked him, it was revealed to be Okuyasu.
"Hands off my clan." Okuyasu told the two.
Mr. Freeze let out a grunt of frustration and fired at Okuyasu but the punk dodged them and closed the distance between them with a leap and delivered a punch to his face, making him stagger back. Black Manta fired his laser at Okuyasu but the punk block by crossing his arms and bull rushed him and kicked him in the gut.
"Just what the hell do you think you're doing? Why attack my clan?" Okuyasu said, looking at the two. "More importantly, how do you know where to find it?"
"Grodd wanted to even the score for what you did to him back in Gorilla City, plus more manpower to increase his chances." Black Manta told him.
"Damn dirty ape." Okuyasu said with sneer.
"Enough talk, let's finish this so that I can continue my work." Mr. Freeze said, aiming his freeze gun.
Mr. Freeze once again tried to hit Okuyasu but he swiftly move his body and the shot miss, Black Manta swung his trident at Okuyasu but he block by pulling out one of his Black Talons, the two exchange blows with their weapons meanwhile Mr. Freeze kept shooting at Okuyasu but the punk made sure to dodge. The next time Mr. Freeze fired Okuyaus made sure that Black Manta took the shot which cause him to become frozen solid, Okuyasu put wavy his black blade and then pull out a shuriken knife and throw at the ice villains hand, causing him to let out a grunt of pain and leaving open for Okuyasu once again get in close and punch him.
"I heard a lot about you, Victor Fries. Why join up with someone like Grodd?" Okuyasu asked him.
"What I do, I do for Nora. I hear of your unique regenerating ability, maybe with that I can finally cure my wife." Mr Freeze told him.
"Even if you cure her, how will she feel once she sees what you become?" Okuyasu said firmly. "Stop while you're ahead, before it's too late."
Okuyasu then threw a few ninja stars at Mr. Freeze so he created a wall of ice to block them but they started beeping and then exploded, knocking him back a bit. Okuyasu charges at him and shoulder slams into his chest, Mr. Freeze lets out a grunt of pain and smacks the punk across the face with his gun. Okuyasu tank the hit and sweep Mr. Freeze's leg and then follows up with a kick to the gut, the ice villain out a grunt of pain and as Okuyasu was about to hit him once more he fired a freeze blast at Okuyasu's head but the punk blocks with his right arm and it get frozen instead, Victor Fries aim for his leg next but Okuyasu jump away. He look at his frozen and focus on it for a bit and cause it to shatter and freed his arm, he look back at Mr. Freeze and pull out three shuriken knives and throws but the ice base villain created another wall of ice but this time Okuyasu charge and used the ice wall as a cover and throws throws a strong and solid punch through it and hit Mr. Freeze delivers in the face and knocks him back a bit. Okuyasu uses The Hand to scrape away and pull him back within his range as he getting up and hits him with a combo of fast and precise punches, Mr. Freeze staggers back in pain. Okuyasu was getting ready to throw another punch but Mr. Freeze created a thick and large cloud of mist, the punk look around but Mr. Freeze but he couldn't see anything, Mr. Freeze aimed his freeze gun and fired but to his shock the punk was able to still dodge.
"Did you think clouding my vision would even things out for you? I've trained to rely on all my senses, all of them." Okuyasu told Mr. Freeze.
Mr. Freeze let a grunt of frustration and fired a few freeze blast and created icicle, they drop down but Okuyasu avoid them all and throw a few exploding ninja stars but Mr. Freeze made another wall of ice to block, Okuyasu smirk and had The Hand scrape away space and pull Mr. Freeze in close and hits him with fast boxing jab to the face, he hit Mr. Freeze with a barrage of to his face, leaving dents and cracks around his face cover. Mr. Freeze fired more freeze shots and hit Okuyasu in his right arm and left leg but the punk broke free of his icy binds, the mist was clear and Victor Fries was losing his patience and Okuyasu needed to finish this up now before his hideout got anymore trashed. He charge at Mr. Freeze, who turned his freeze gun to ma power and fired freeze beam but Okuyasu kept dodging and swaying out and used his Nijimura fighting style move; Infighting, a heavy barrage of boxing punches all over his body, battering and knocking him to the ground, defeated.
"This isn't the way, Nora would have wanted better for you." Okuyasu told him.
Mr. Freeze tries to get up but is too injured, the punk picks up his freeze gun and encases his body in ice. He then broke the gun and looked around to all his frozen members, he checked on them and hoped that they weren't dead, with a single jab the ice shattered around the member and free from their icy prison, he checked their pulse and let out a sigh of relief.
"I better break them out quickly before they suffer permanent damage." Okuyasu said, getting up to free the others.
When he was about to do that, Black Manta's visor glowed red and fired his laser vision and broke free, Okuyasu turned to face him.
"And what's your deal with me? Outside of Grodd's order what would you get from attacking me?" Okuyasu asked.
"Honestly, I have nothing against you. I only joined to take care of Arthur Curry, I hear that you help fight against him any enemy of Arthur Curry is a possible ally of mine." Black Manta told him.
"I'd be kinda flattered if it weren't for the fact you trash my hideout and hurt my clan members." Okuyasu told him. "As for Aquaman, I could care less about him as far as I'm concerned, he's just another fucker who joined the Regime." He said with a sneer. "But that doesn't make us allies, once I'm done with Brainiac and Superman, Grodd and his Society is next."
"What a shame, we could have taken down Arthur Curry together and bathed the oceans with the blood of his "precious people"." Black Manta said, pulling out two shorts blades.
"Sorry to disappoint you but my goal is becoming a hero not a murderer." Okuyasu told him, pulling out his Black Talons.
The two charge at each other and swung both of their blades, matching on another as neither land a hit as they blade grind against each other and created sparks, Okuyasu attack with a left crescent moon kick right to Black Manta's liver making grunt in pain but the aqua-base villain activate his jetpack an flew into the air and fire missile at Okuyasu, the punk was blasted and sent skidding a bit but he block and only took mild damage with the right side of head bleeding a bit. Black Manta dive down and tries to stab Okuyasu but he blocks with his black blades and delivers with an upward kick to his gut and sends him flying and hitting the ceiling, he falls back into the floor. Black Manta get up with a grunt of pain and shook it off and use his jetpack to body charge at Okuyasu with his duel blade and swing them at the punk, he landed a cut on his left cheek but the punk block with his black blades, the two enter another exchange of blade swings with both of them landing cut but Okuyasu's "Super Slayer" left him unharmed while Black Manta only had mild cut that bleed a bit, Okuyasu follow up with a frontal kick to the gut. Black Manta grunted in pain and jump in the air with his jetpack and tries to stab the punk with his duel blade but Okuyasu parry them with his own duel blades and counter with a heavy high kick to his head but the helmet took the blow so his head remain unharm, Black Manta put his duel blades away and pull out his trident while Okuyasu put his Black Talons away and took his Nijimura fighting stance. Black Manta fired two missiles at him and Okuyasu deflected them with The Hand and carpe the space between them and once again used Nijumura fighting style: Infighting, all aimed at Black Manta's helmet making a few dents. Balck Manta stagger back but he's still head remained unharmed and swung his trident at the punk but he dodge, he continue to attack with his trident with every fierce swung and stab but Okuyasu was dodging with ease and continue with a mach speed punch to his chest, making Black Manta gasp in pain and cough up a little blood. Okuyasu call out The Hand and pull him back within his range and delivers a fast soccer kick sending him to the floor, Okuyasu charge and throws another strong punch but Black Manta hit him in the chest with his laser vision, the punk hit the wall and let out a gasp of pain, the reinforce chest plate protected him. Black Manta get up and rush at him and at the same time he fired his laser vision once more but the punk block with his arms, Okuyasu delivers a heavy high kick right to the helmet and knocked it off and once his head was exposed the punk delivers a strong and hard kick to the temple of his sent and knocked him out.
"I still have a ways to go before I reach my goal." Okuyasu stated.
Okuyasu let out a sigh and picked up Black Manta's trident and bent the strong metal and wrapped it around the villain to keep him from getting away. He then begins breaking out the rest of the members of his clan and luckily they were still alive, just really cold.
"I'm gonna make Grodd pay for this." Okuyasu said with a sneer.
"Okuyasu, are you the okay?" Starfire said, appearing after finishing evacuating the people.
"Yeah, just taking care of this. Grodd decided to feel petty and attack my clan." Okuyasu told her.
"That's a relief, I hope no one was the hurt too badly." Starfire told him.
"No, just a bit of freezing." Okuyasu told her. "When I find that damn ape, I'll show him just what happens when someone messes with the Nijimura Clan."
"Is that so? And what happens when someone messes with the Nijimura Clan?" A male voice asked.
A figure dropped down and it was revealed to be someone with a red helmet, a brown jacket and black pants, on his chest was a red symbol in the form of a bat.
"No way…" Starfire said in shock.
"Anybody that messes with my clan gets their ass kicked 10 ways to Sunday and back, black and blue and bloody all over." Okuyasu said in a serious tone. "Are you threatening my clan?"
"And if I am?" They asked, pulling out his guns.
"I'll make you regret it." Okuyasu said in a more intimidating tone.
"Wait!" Starfire said, floating in front of Okuyasu. "I know it's you, Jason Tood." She told him.
"Huh?" Okuyasu said, confused and wondering if he misheard her.
"Jason Todd, the second Robin to Batman but later changed and became the Red Hood." Starfire told him. "Please don't tell me that you're the working for Grodd?" She asked.
"I never work for that dumb ape." Jason told her.
"Then why are you the here?" Starfire asked.
"Because Harley Quinn is still breathing, it is because of her help that Joker was able to finish his plan and drive Superman insane. I'm going to put a bullet in her and finish her off once and for all." Jason answered.
"You won't be going anywhere near Harleen. She's a victim of Joker's madness as well." Okuyasu said seriously.
"That clown is just as responsible for the deaths as Joker, and for Bruce to let her off is the reason why stuff like this happened." Red Hood stated. "So I'll do what should have happened in the first place."
"If you even dare touch Harleen in any way, I'll hurt you badly." Okuyasu threatened.
Red Hood and Okuyasu stare each other down with intense glares, it looks like they were trying to kill each other with their vision alone. Just as it seemed Okuyasu was going to be the first one to make the first move, Starfire got in his way and stood before Red Hood.
"Leave this to the me, Okuyasu." Starfire told him.
"Starfire…" Okuyasu said, looking at her.
"Please, I need to do this." Starfire told him in a soft tone.
"Very well, I'll check on the rest of my clan." Okuyasu said, letting her fight and left to check on his clan.
Starfire floated up to Red Hood, she had a sad and pleading look on her face as the vigilantly merely looked up at her.
"Please Jason… do not the do this. Dick Grayson wouldn't want you to do this." Starfire said to him.
"Grayson is dead because of that bastard Damian Wayne, once I'm done with Harley Quinn. He is next." Red Hood told her.
"Killing them won't bring back, Dick." Starfire told him. "Please don't make me do this…" She pleaded.
"Sorry Koriand'r, you know I can't do that…" Jason Todd told her, his voice almost apologetic.
Starfire had a sad look on her face at this but then steeled her nerves and fire two star bolts, Red Hood dodge them and fired a few bullet at her but she was able to dodge them and fly at him and hits him with a strong punch to the chest, Red Hood let out a grunt of pain but endure and counter a swift high kick to the head, Starfire let out a grunt but fix herself and throws a combo of punches at Red Hood but he put his guard up and tank the punches, Starfire channel a star bolts and throws them at him but he jumps out the way and throws a few batarangs at her but she bast them and charge at him and sent him flying with a extra strong punch to the gut, Red Hood let out a grunt of pain and even cough up a bit of blood, not that the alien princess could see, and knock him into a wall. Red Hood pull out a smoke bomb as Starfire rush at him and throws it to the ground a makes a smokescreen and look around for him and didn't see him from behind and pistol whip her across the head a few times, Starfire power up and unleash a energy wave of star bolts and blast him away, Red Hood get up with a grunt of pain and didn't have time to react to as Starfire charge right at him and assault him with a combo of punches and finish a strong kick to the abdomen, making cough up more blood into his helmet. She was about to see if he was alright but Red Hood pulled an explosive and threw it at her, knocking her back and leaving her open for his own more severe combo of punches and activating the tasers on his guns and shock her, making her let out a cry of pain. Starfire stagger back and fix herself and charge right at the vigilante and channels a star bolt into her fist and punches him in the chest and sent him flying into another wall, Starfire blast him with more star bolts injuring him more and finish with a strong kick to the head and knocks him to the floor. Starfire watched as Red Hood slowly got back up, she didn't wish to seriously harm him so she held back a bit but Jason wasn't going to go down like that, it weighed her heart on what she has to do. Starfire focus her power and rush right at Red Hood, she throws a couple of starbolts around him to distract him and then delivers hard punch to the gut then follow up with a dropkick to the chest and then hit him with a combo and strong punches and then hits with a flying roundhouse kick to the head, breaking his helmet and unleash a more powerful punch to the face, sending flying into a wall ad even denting, Jason tries to get up but the blow had rattle his brain up so he ended up falling to his knee, defeated.
"I'm sorry Jason, I wish things could have been different." Starfire said in a sad tone.
Jason spit up blood and was still trying to get his thoughts in order, Starfire just floats up to him and hopes he doesn't plan on continuing the fight. Okuyasu returned and saw Starfire had won, the former punk had no doubts about that but it must have been hard for her to fight someone who she considered like family to some extent. Okuyasu placed a hand on her shoulder as a form of comfort, she placed her hand on his and gave it a squeeze. Okuyasu saw that Red Hood was recovering from his face but was still injured and wouldn't be able to fight for a while so he didn't feel threatened as he walked up to him, giving within his range of striking.
"Harleen told me all the horrible things that Joker did, it got worse one after another and I honestly believe I was going to vomit from pure disgust." Okuyasu told him in a calm tone but the former boy wonder remained quiet. "One of those things was what Joker did to you, and all I can say is… sorry." He told him.
Red Hood looked up at him in surprise, not understanding why Okuyasu was apologizing. Starfire wasn't sure where Okuyaus was going with this but hoped it was something good.
I worked with Batman for a while and learned a lot of things from him, he's told a lot about what's been doing and what he has gained… and lost." Okuyasu said, looking Jason in the eyes. "I haven't gone through what you have been through and it must have been Hell, Joker was a blight on Earth and deserved to die. What he did is sickening, and I'm sorry it happened to you." He told Jason. "But I can't let you hurt Harleen, I-I care about her too much for that. And I know Harleen isn't a saint by any chance but… she's trying… and wants to do the right thing to make up for all of her sins… she's suffered at Joker's hand too." Okuyasu told him. "I'm still new to all of this and I've been doing my part here to help, I'm not going to lie and say I support all of Batman's choices… Honestly rather have Superman and all of his followers die and buried if not that at least rotting in a cell for the rest of their life but then Brainiac happened, now you can feel how you want about Harleen but Starfire is a different story, I care about her just as much and hated the fact she is upset having to fight you." He said with a bit of anger. "Can we put aside our differences and fight together to take out Brainiac and later Superman, as a team?" He asked Jason, holding out his hand. "For now at least?" He added.
Jason look at Okuyasu and then his hand and then at Starfire, he thought over what he said and he made some good points about Joker's actions and Superman's group plus him and Koriand'r, it didn't feel right to fight her and sure he didn't like or trust Okuyasu at this point because of how firm he was in protecting Harleen but he couldn't forget she was a victim in Joker's madness and left with no help and Starfire seem to care about him, one thing both of them agree on was that not all of Bruce's choices were the right one. He lets out a long sigh and grabs Okuyasu's hand, the former punk helping him up to his feet.
"Fine, a truce. Between Brainiac and Superman plus all of the chaos, now isn't the time to be trying to be killing each other, I still think Quinn should pay for her crimes and the fact you're protecting her give me some mix signals but Koriand'r seem to trust and I seen her hardly do that with anybody else, so I work you." Jason told Okuyasu.
"Thanks, I really mean it, thank you." Okuyasu told him.
Okuyasu would rather not fight Jason Todd if he could help it, Starfire looked relieved and was glad to fight with Jason instead isn't of fighting against him. Okuyasu was about to take over the plan with the two but then had time as the sound of a portal opening and all of them turned and saw a red portal had opened and out come Atrocitus with Dexstar by his side.
"Atrocitus…" Starfire said with a sneer. "What are you doing here?" She asked, onguard.
"I am here because I sense potential, a great spark of rage untapped." Atrocitus answered. "You… Okuyasu Nijimura, I sense within you a great amount of rage, rage locked away, a rage beyond anything I sensed before so raw and powerful. Come and join the Red Lanterns, unleash the full potential of your rage!" He said, pointing at Okuyasu.
"Just what the hell are you taking out?" Okuyasu asked, confused.
"You leave him out of this, he'll never join your ranks!" Starfire said, getting between Okuyasu and Atrocitus.
"Stay out of this Tamaranean, I was denied once I will not be denied again." Atrocitus said in a threatening tone.
"Just who the heck is this guy?" Okuyasu asked Stafire.
"Atrocitus, Leader of the Red Lanterns, a monster of pure rage and bloodlust. He and his Red Lanterns have terrorized the Galaxy for years and has been trying to wipe out the Green Lanterns corp for decades." Starfire answered him.
"So the villain version of the Green Lanterns? Got it." Okuyasu said, getting ready to fight.
"You can not deny your rage, I can feel it. You rage against the Kryptonian, against his forces, against his actions, I can feel it all." Atrocitus told Okuyasu. "I can hear the victims of Superman cry out for vengeance, you would deny them that? After everything he did to you? To your allies? To your lover?" he asked, walking up to him and Starfire.
"You leave Harleen out of it! If you dear…" Okuyasu growls at him.
"I haven't done anything, I can't speak for Superman's allies though." Atrocitus said, holding out his hand, revealing a red ring. "Join me… become a Red Lantern and become the swift and furious blade of vengeance and cut down the Kryptonian." He said with a monstrous smile.
"Like hell I join you, I'll admit I hate Superman but that doesn't mean I'll join someone like you." Okuyasu said firmly. "My goal is to become a hero, become a person that fights for justice and vengeance but not your kind of vengeances." He told the Red Lantern Leader.
"Grrrr, your world is burning and once you see the consequences of your ally's action you will scream out for vengeance!" Atrocitus shouted, powering up in anger.
"That's enough out of Atrocitus, you better return from where you came from and never come back… or suffer the consequence of your actions." Starfire said in a threatening tone.
"I warn you to stay out of this, Tamaranean." Atrocitus said with a sneer. "Now you pay the price for your interferation!"
Starfire launch herself at Atrocitus and throw a hard punch to his face, the Red Lantern stagger abc from the blow but counter with a even harder punch to her face, sending flying into a wall and breaking, Starfire get up and wipe blood from her lips and spit out some blood to the floor. Starfire charge right at Atrocitus and hit in the face over and over again with powerful punches, the Red Lantern growled and channel his ring power and created a large morningstar and hit the Tamaranean Princess with it and knock her to the floor and raise it to smash her into paste but some bullets and throwing ninja stars hit him in the chance, Okuyasu and Jason were backing up Starfire by throwing ninja stars and firing bullets, Atrocitus growled and fired a blast of flaming energy from his mouth and knock the two male fighter back in the wall, Starfire look on with horror and grown anger and channel her power and unleash a strong starbolt blast to his chest and focus her starbolt into her fist and beat the shit out of Atrocitus with punch after punch with no intent of holding back as his blood splat against the floor, she was pummeling the Red Lantern Leader and was dealing out great damage to him! He swung his large morningstar right to her head but the heroine shattered with a starbolt infused punch and landed another strong punch to his face, knocking him back. Atrocitus growl in rage and that fuel his power and he counter a vicious punch to her face and follow up with a punch to the gut and assault with a combo of punches and used his ring to create a warhammer and smash her into the floor and hit her with it a few more times, forcing to got deeper into the floor. Atrocitus raise the warhammer and aim for her head to smash it into a bloody mess but the heroine dodge and flies above him and delivers a flying roundhouse kick to the head but he block it with the warhammer and knocks her into the wall, she spit up blood and was cover in scrapes and visible bruise her outfit was torn up a bit but she was still raring to go. Starfire wiped blood from her nose and gave Atrocitus a glare that promised pain. She channel her power throughout her body, her hair got a bit brighter and her eyes had a green glow, her bulldozer right at the Red Lantern and delivers a powerful punch that create a small shockwave, Starfire assault Atrocitus with more bone-shattering punch that shook the whole hideout, Starfore land a powerful punch across Atrocitus's face then a crushing kick to his gut and follow up with a brutal right hook then the Tamaranean Princess focus all of power and unleash a green beam and blast Atrocitus through a wall, Starfire flies right at him and unleash a killer combo of starbolt infused punches all over his body and finish a devastating ax kick to the top of his head, slamming him into the floor.
Starfire would have continue her assault but Dexstar attack her, scratching her facing trying to claw her eyes out Starfire mangnage to rip the demonic cat off her face and tightened her grip on it to the out of hurting it but the loyal pet of Atrocitus throw up boling blood on her face, temperialy blinding her, Starfire let out a cry of pain and throw Dexstar to the side, trying to get her vision back meanwhile Dexstar hissed at her and lunge at her and slash any exposed area she left, Starfire tries to fight back but was still blinded so until she was assault by the red lantern cat, her body was covered in claw marks that weren't deep but many, as Dexstar goes for her neck to slash open her throat but Starfire then dodges and blast Dexstar with a powerful starbolt, blasting him away and severely singeing his fur. She open her eyes and wipe blood from her face, she would had love to have a chance to recover from the assault but wasn't given one as a large red bull like beast slam into her ad nearly crush her had she not quickly fix herself and grabs it by the horns to stop it assault, she was back into a wall and saw Atrocitus had got back up and was still recovering the beating she gave him giving the panting and blood dripping down from his mouth and head, his body was cover in dented with nasty bruise and severe burns, he held out his ring and was trying to get the beast to finish her off, the Tamaranean Princess was getting winded and struggle against the construct and gritted her teeth and tightens her grip and put her all in this move, she rip the beast in half with her bare hands! She was panting a bit but still remain firm, Atrocitus used his ring to make a battle ax and long jagged sword and then lunge at Starfire and meant his charge and dodge a downward swing from the battle ax and delivers a strong right hook to the face the Red Lantern growled and swung the jagged sword at her neck in order to be-head her but Starfire dodge and counter with left uppercut right to the chin, Atrocitus growled and slam his head down against her giving her a hard headbutt and dazing her which gave him the chance to delivers a combo of berserk slashes, Starfire defend herself as best as she could and back away, she ended up getting covered in more cuts but her arms to most of the damage, Atrocitus was able to land a cut on her abdomen and thankfully the wound wasn't fatality deep but she wasn't going last much longer with the amount of blood the was leaking out of it, she needed to end this here and now. Atrocitus charge forward to end the Tamaranean Princess once and for all but Starfire charge at him and hit him with a tackle and knock through the Nijimura Clan Hideout and outside, he throw him and starts hitting him over and over again with starbolt blast and continue to until their are above the Earth's atmosphere and here Starfire unleash and massively powerful explosion of green energy, engulfing Atrocitus and giving him severely painfully third degree burns all over his body. Once the blast faded Atrocitus was out for the cut and simply floating in space, Starfire black out for a moment and both of them got pulled in by the gravity of Earth, as the reentered Starfire regain conscious and makes a effort to slowly down as to not burn up returning earth, she and Atrocitus crash landed through the roof of the hideout, she was covered in wounds but alive.
"I told you, you suffer the consequences." Stafore said to the badly injured Atrocitus.
Starfire was fading in and out of consciousness and nearly fell but something big and solid caught her, she saw it was Okuyasu. She smiles at him and he returns it but frowns at how badly wounded she ended up being all to protect him.
"You okay, Koriand'r?" Okuyasu asked, but he rarely calls her that out of respect for her dead lover even though she enjoys it when he calls her by her real name.
"I am… the okay." Starfire said weakly.
"Bullshit, you're a bad liar." Okuyasu told her.
Jason just stood by silently as he had a concerned look on his face, Starfire was glad to have him back on their side even if it wasn't permanent. She passed out from blood loss and battle fatigue, Okuyasu held her close to him and was just as worried he then looked around at all the damage his hideout had suffered.
"Harleen is going to be so pissed when she sees what happened here." Okuyasu said with a sigh. Some clan members came, Okuyasu handed them Starfire and was gentle as he did so. "Take her to the infirmary along with anyone else, make sure to treat her wounds and let me know if anything." He ordered, firm and clear.
Okuyasu watched as the clan member carried Starfire off, he let out a long sigh and ran a hand through his hand. He turned Jason, glad that he was able to get him on his side so that they could have a fighting chance against Brainiac. He was still against Superman and his followers being let loss on the world, he knew something bad was bound to happen and likelihood of things going peaceful was nonexistence once Brainiac was defeat Superman would be next, he was going to show him, Wonder Woman, and Black Adam what he's learned over the last 5 years. He was lost in thought by the time he was back in reality, he turn to Jason, who was getting ready to leave, he turned to Okuyasu one more time.
"I'm still on the fence about you, but… thanks for taking care of Koriand'r." Jason said in a soft tone.
"I would have done it no matter what, can we count on your help?" Okuyasu asked him.
"Yeah." Jason told him, and disappeared into the night.
"Jeez, guess it runs in the family." Okuyasu said out loud.
He was about to kill Bruce to see if he needed anything else but then he felt another presence and what he saw had drained all the color from his face, it was Supergirl holding Harleen, who looked like she had seen better days.
"HARLEEN!" Okuyasu shouted with dread.
Okuyasu ran up to the two and took his lover from the young Kryptonian, he observed all her injuries and saw a seal up wound that was on her torso, he checked her pulse… it was faint but there.
"Oh Harleen, I shouldn't have left you alone… I should have been more firm… more stubborn…" Okuyasu said in a heartbroken voice. "Please… Please not you… I can't lose you… how could this happen? Why did I let this happen? Dammit… damn it all." He said, holding her close to him, even cried a bit.
Kara looks at the punk with a mix of shock and sadness, he clearly cares for the woman. Even though she was a criminal and one of the people who helped hurt her cousin, it didn't mean it was right for Diana to do what she did, she thinks over the story Black Adam and Diana told her about what Superman did, clearly leaving out some details. The punk looked broken and upset over what happened to Harleen and Kara couldn't help but feel bad for him.
"What happened?" His voice caught her attention, his eyes were shadowed but the aura of hostility was oozing off him. "What the hell happened? Who the hell did this? Who hurt Harleen?" Okuyasu asked her, looking in her eyes.
Kara felt something she never thought she felt from a human… fear. The amount of anger and hostility was so intense that it made her feel small before him, he was doing his best to contain the overwhelming bloodlust as he stared into Kara's eyes.
"D-Diana… sh-she just went crazy… and stabbed her… s-she was going to kill her. I stopped her… sh-she told me to bring her here." Kara answered, unable to believe her own words
Okuyasu gripped his fist and gritted his teeth, his anger turned to rage and so a visible aura of bloodlust was coming off his body as he looked ready to go on a rampage. He took a deep breath and exhaled, the aura disappeared and he picked up Harleen.
"Thank you… for saving her." Okuyasu said, his voice calm, a little too calm.
Kara watches him walk away with his lover in his arms. This wasn't making any sense! How could Diana do something like this, even if Harleen was a criminal she told her that Amazon way was for all criminals to face justice, but what Diana did wasn't justice it was out of anger and spite. But she couldn't really be the villain that others made her out to be, could she? And if so, what would Kal-El think? This was too much, she needed to get to the button of this.
Kara flew off, she couldn't help but wonder and fear how the punk would react when he found the truth of what Harleen was keeping from him… that the unborn child of him and Harleen had nearly died.
And this is where I'll be living things, Red Hood has joined the ranks of Team Batman and Okuyasu is facing the aftermath between Harleen and Diana fight, plus Kara is having doubts about the side she is on. How will she fair when the truth of Superman's actions comes to light? Is Atrocitus really out for the count? How will all of this affect Okuyasu? What do you think?

Also I'll be releasing another SNV (Shuumatsu No Valkyrie) fanfiction called, Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: All-Out Galactic War, it was the idea of Fairydragon2099 and we've been working on it together and I will release it soon.
