Bless you dear readers for your patience. In return, I offer you a Heisenberg heavy chapter with plenty of shenanigans.

Morning arrived quicker than either would have liked, even with sleeping in a few hours. "Wake up lazy ass," Heisenberg says as he walks out of the bathroom now dressed in his modern clothing. "We've got an army to build."

Charlotte grumbles a bit and rolls over. She missed having a bed. Can't she just lay here for a few more minu- The covers were thrown off her causing her to instinctively curl up to preserve warmth.

"You got 10 seconds before I pick you up and drop you in a tub of cold water," Heisenberg says as he crosses his arms.

Charlotte grumbles again as she pushed herself to sit up as she yawns and gets ready for the day as she grabs her phone. Luckily she fell asleep in her day clothes instead of pajamas. "Alright, let's go," she says after running her hands through her hair and putting on her shoes. "We need to get some tech supplies for the database, a few things from the Cora, Construction supplies from the hardware store. maybe an Auto supply store. We're lucky we didn't get pulled over for the missing headlight," She lists off. "was there anything you wanted in particular for the army?" she asks while poking at her phone.

"Could use a few more chainsaws" Heisenberg says as they head to the truck.

She looks at him with a mixture of confusion and concern, why the heck did he need more chainsaws? what on earth was he doing in that factory of his. She shakes her head "Fine, you're army," she replies as she lazily puts her hands up in surrender.

once they were both in the truck she set up the GPS to take them to the hardware store. As they drove she used her phone to log into her work email in the background and smiled as she noticed an Email she was hoping to see came in 3 days ago.

RE: Long Term Business Analysis Venture Proposal

Charlotte took a deep breath. This was it. how screwed was she?

After reviewing your proposal and taking time to deliberate on the option the board came to a vote of 4 to 6 In favor of your proposal. We look forward to receiving quarterly updates on your progress. Your first update is expected by End of Day November 30th ahead of the 4th quarter closing so we have details to provide during the investor summit. See the attached form for extending your Visa from a holiday visa to a long-term stay visa. Our legal department will handle the rest.

YES! Oh dear sweet lord the first bit of good news in a loooong time. that actually worked? and she only had to report back quarterly. She gave a quiet sigh of relief. This could work... she'd send in the receipts for... that thought stopped as she remembered the mountain of birth control on the receipt for the computers... Shit. Yeah, she was going to have to bite the bullet on that purchase. she would definitely get fired if she sent that in for reimbursement. Uuugh she should have broken up the purchase. oh well. now she knows. she could at least do that now and get refunds for some of the items she bought today.

The two made it to the Hardware store in record time after that. 5 more chainsaws, Drill bits, circular saw blades, a decent palette of Roof tiles, nails, a ladder, and another quarter pallet of two by fours lead to the end of the trip to the hardware store and the two were on to the tech store.

Let's see she needed a keyboard and maybe some software for touch typing so Lady Dimitrescu could practice more than just a few sentences. She thought this over as he picked up a shopping basket. As they walk through the store she noticed a display section for the latest model of VR headset. Gosh, that looked so cool. The more time she spent in the village the more apparent the gap in technology was. She frowned slightly at that thought as they walked past it.

"Look I've been doing some thinking," Charlotte says as she walks over to a display of keyboards, one of them was modeled to look like a typewriter. It was a bit more expensive but the extra space between the keys would be nice... Let's go with that one it will be worth it.

"Oh good, Here I thought you stopped doing that" Heisenberg replies with a slight smirk while she checked the back to see if it was battery-powered or wired.

Charlotte's eye twitched. Don't punch him. Even if it would be worth it at this point, don't punch him. "Well, you certainly managed to make it more of a chore."

There she was. "Asshole," he replies still smirking.

"Dick," She shoots back while putting the keyboard into the basket.

It was dumb, he knew it but in a weird way. It was almost kinda nice to have someone else around that wasn't a kiss-up. Everyone in the village always just did what he said it was always yes lord Heisenberg, of course, lord Heisenberg, you're so gracious lord Heisenberg even if he was stepping on their throat. And his 'siblings' blind loyalty to the bitch just infuriated him.

Charlotte looked back towards the display for the VR headset. Yeah. This was a good idea. She started walking away and back towards the display. "If you want to see some of the newer technology you missed out on this is it by the way," she says gesturing to it. "they're like fancy glasses," Charlotte says with a smile as she stops in front of the display.

"And," He says raising an eyebrow and stopped walking since she did.

"you should try it out, you're going to need to catch up on what's normal for the modern world after all. It's a good learning opportunity." she says as she picks up the display set and puts it on. "see? like this."

She was up to something, but he was slightly curious. The Talking fake consciousness wasn't the latest and greatest? "That's it?"

"Yep, that's it" she replies with a nod as she takes off the headset and hands it to Heisenberg.

He cautiously accepts it and puts it on to find himself, outside? What the actual hell? he moved the visor up to see he was still in the store then back down. "how?" he asks quietly as he starts looking around. Charlotte smiles at the question and is further amused to see him dive back in. Good, he wasn't frightened by it. yet.

A short laugh escaped his lips. This was amazing. Up, Down Left, Right. Where ever he looked, he was surrounded by a different place, but not at the same time. This place was much brighter and vibrant as he found himself standing on a lush grassy green cliffside that was brimming with foliage. Brilliant blue sky illuminated the distant ocean. He'd never actually been to the ocean before. He stared for a moment as the light reflected off the crashing waves and took a breath. It was like one of Donna's hallucinations but you keep your brain intact... It was there but it wasn't. As he turned about 180 degrees he jolts back as a dinosaur jumps out at him from the foliage.

"Godambitchassshitfuckinghoe" No pause or gap, the profanity came out as one solid brick of a word as he fell backwards and took off the headset. He could hear Charlotte laughing as he stared into space for a moment before a smile started to form on his face. "I'll take 10." he wasn't sure what that was but he knew exactly how he could use it.

Her laughter stopped short as she heard his declaration. "You're joking," Charlotte says as she instantly regrets showing him the dumb thing. "How are you going to use 10 headsets for an army?" She asks with a slight frown. "...You can have 3 for now. I'm not made of money you know. Those are expensive."

"6" He counters as he gets up and puts the headset back on the display. He'd need a whooole lot more than 6 with what he had in mind. This thing would be perfect for activating and deactivating Soldats. Control what they see. He wouldn't have to go to Donna and risk getting outted if he had these.

"4, the three I originally offered and an extra for you to take apart and tinker with, if you can figure out how they work I can buy broken ones in bulk on eBay for you to fix up"

"Deal" Heisenberg agrees as his army was starting to take form. "What's an eBay?" he asks as he looks over to her.

Charlotte gave a quiet sigh. "That is what I was trying to bring up before when I mentioned I'd been thinking."

"eBay?" Heisenberg asks with a confused expression.

"No," Charlotte replies as she holds her face. "The fact you're missing a lot of common knowledge and it sounds like these trips aren't going to be as frequent as we initially hoped." She says with a slight frown. "You said every month but I'm one person and I don't think I can get Miranda to agree to let us leave that often. There's only so much progress I can make. She was pretty unhappy with the idea of us leaving again already." Charlotte points out which causes Heisenberg to frown and cross his arms. "So if we're working together. why don't I stop by every so often and I'll help you catch up."

"Already making excuses for why you won't be able to do what you were told," Heisenberg says as he stares her down.

She couldn't just do something for the sake of being nice around him could she? Fine. Transactional it is. her smile is replaced with a more blank expression "No I'm being realistic, if we don't want to get caught we can only push our luck so much," Charlotte replies returning the frown. "It's that or you insist on once a month I get turned into a Lycan. You eventually get out anyways after a much longer period of time with no access to funds and end up homeless only to experience Horrid culture shock and end up in rubber-lined jail cell after. Oh, I'll give you a week or two. Three tops. It depends if you get caught for aggravated assault and end up wanted or if you get caught for not having citizenship paperwork."

"Cocky ass bitch," Heisenberg says with a sneer.

"It's your choice you can have a tool that does what you say for tops another month leaving you stranded up shit creek without a paddle when Miranda offs me or an Ally that will help you even after the fight is done," Charlotte says going for a hard sell. there was no real way to guarantee she'd last that long but she'd have a better chance if he loosened his grip a bit... and this was the safest place she could negotiate this kind of deal. He wouldn't risk making a public scene and getting into trouble with Miranda... probably.

He shifts his jaw. and this was one of the many downsides of only having a clever bitch as an intellectual counterpart... it was REAL irritating when she was overconfident AND right. Another string of profanities were muttered under his breath. "Make it 7 and you have a deal."

"7 headsets?" Charlotte clarifies and he nods.

"You have a deal," She says with a smirking smile.

"Don't look so proud of yourself, you're the dumb ass that's selling her soul," Heisenberg says unamused.

Charlotte shakes her head and walks off to find an employee to help her get 7 of the headsets.

With the purchase made, including the keyboard and software for lady Dimitrescu, she traveled with Heisenberg to the last few locations. A print shop so she could get that Visa paperwork finished up, scanned, and sent back to the office. a trip to the automotive store for some car parts to spruce up the truck a bit more. then the Cora to get more food for the month, this time with an addition of a bag of individually wrapped bite-size candies and a thing of tin foil. Medicine. As it would turn out acid blockers did have an over-the-counter variant. This was going to hopefully get her back in shape by the end of the month... to be safe she got two months' worth. She added a few more romance movies to the cart and Lastly, she picked up a hot glue gun and sewing supplies. Into the cart when several bolts of winter fabric. 3 with floral patterns, a thick red fabric that had a floral texture woven into it, and one of Faux fur as a wild card purchase. a large container of buttons and a few rolls of lace, thread, needles, and such were added to the cart as well. Hopefully, this would be enough to appease the two.

The bills were mounting up. Luckily she had managed to remember to separate out the more of Heisenberg's expenses. There was no way she was going to explain 5 chainsaws and 7 headsets to the board. Now the broken ones she could explain as donations to a local kids electronics club as parts for them to tinker with. Once she had that updated Visa she'd be able to afford a PO Box and then they'd be cooking with gas. She'd have access to a whole global market of supplies not just local.

one more night in the beautiful glory that is a normal bed and the two had to head back to the village in their regular village attire. Heisenberg parked the new truck next to the rust bucket before looking at the pile of scraps beside it. "Well shit," he says as he realized a flaw in the plan. they had two beds worth of supplies and only enough time for one trip to meet Miranda's deadline.

"Yeah, I might have maybe not thought this through all the way..." she admits while looking between the vehicles.

"Guess you're learning how to drive a stick," he says with a frown as he heads to the back of the truck and starts moving stuff over "put the nails into the wood we don't have time for this shit," he admits with a sneer.

"Yes sir," she said with little reason to argue and begins to do so. with help from the electric wielding lord everything was moved from the new truck to the rust bucket. he gets into the passenger seat and starts picking up the extra scaps to have them follow with, with his much scrap though he'd need to concentrate. "Press the clutch to the floor and turn on the truck. keep your foot on the clutch," Heisenberg says and Charlotte nods. okay gas, breaks. that one must be the clutch. she pressed down the 3rd pedal and turns on the truck. off to a good start. "press on the break with your right foot and put the car in 1st,"

"Which one is first?" Charlotte asks as she stares at the shifter lever.

"Look at the fuckin knob" Heisenberg replies irritated.

"Sheesh okay okay" so crabby all the time.

"is it in first?" he asks after hearing a few clicks

"I think s-"

"I didn't ask if you think it is I asked is it in first," he says as he cuts her off

"Yes," she replies with similar irritation.

"Ease off the breaks," he says and charlotte does so, the car slowly starts to move forward.

"oh god oh god oh god," charlotte says panicking as the car was moving. the steering wheel felt so stiff!

"Ease up on the clutch and slowly push on the gas at the same time," Heisenberg says while focusing on getting the scrap to follow behind them. there was no way he was leaving these gems behind.

Okay, she could do this what's the worst that could happen. the car could break down and they both get in trouble and she di- you know what don't think about that. While far from a smooth transition she did manage to switch from the clutch to the gas.

"You're going to need to switch to second if we're going to make it back in time," Heisenberg says and Charlotte nervously nods. Why did this feel so much faster than when she was a passenger? "Take your foot off the gas, press the clutch again, switch to second then off the clutch and back to the gas."

Oh gosh, that was a lot all at once um. she ended up griding the already damaged gear creating a whirling whine but she was in second gear. "HA oh shi-" She says with a smile at first before realizing the truck was, predictably, moving faster. Fear was evident on her face but she continued to try and maneuver the vehicle.

"Ease up on the gas a bit, fuckin led foot demon," Heisenberg says with an amused smirk as they bounced along the road. He probably could have handled this but this was fair payback for her stunt with the headsets since maiming and spinning blades of death were off the table for now.

Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh, how does she stop this thing? "how do I go down a gear?" Charlotte asks with continued terror.

"Same thing, just move the gear lever down instead of up," Heisenberg replies as he digs out a cigar to enjoy with his entertainment.

"Oh great" why did driving have to be this complicated? Eventually, they approached the turn for the factory and Heisenberg simply stepped out of the car and used his abilities to take his share from the back.

"You're doing great sweetheart, you can handle the rest on your own," Heisenberg says with a snicker. "I'll catch up."

And cue internal screaming. This jerk! Oh gosh okay what did he say? How did you stop again? No power steering, no power breaks. This was not going to end well. She didn't have time for that she'd be late... She continued to bump along the roads back to the village and eventually to Luiza's house where after destroying 2nd and 1st gear she managed to stop without hitting anything.

"Charlotte," Luiza greeted with a tone of disbelief and stress. That was a bit too close for comfort. The truck could have gone straight through the wall of her home. "Where is Lord Heisenberg?" she asks with concern though she was still trying to process the horror that was the driving display she just saw.

"He got out at the factory and said he'd catch up," Charlotte explains while catching her breath. Never again. She'd wear a corset first.

"I see," Luiza replies and keeps any further comments to herself. "I'll ask the men to assist with unloading the truck once more."

"Thanks," Charlotte says as she gets out of the truck and looks at the supplies, in particular the bolts of fabric and sewing supplies. Her trip to visit Lady dimitrescu didn't go as horridly as she initially thought. Maybe she misjudged Donna too... with that she picks up the nonconstruction supplies to divide out what went were. "These are for lady Dimitrescu and these go to Lord Moreau," she explains and Luiza nods before watching Charlotte pick up the bolts of fabric and supplies. "If you could have others drop those off, I'll be taking these to Lady Benivento."

"Are you sure?" Luiza asks with continued concern as her eyebrows knit together.

"I'm sure" she confirmed before heading out.

Heisenberg smile to himself as he thought over his entertainment. Bitch didn't know how to drive a stick. what a joke. She'd learn by the time she got back to that village or she'd end up smashing the dumb rust bucket into a wall. whichever happened first. He had just walked into the factory when he realized something mildly important. If she wrecked that truck they wouldn't have a way to leave the village and get supplies around. "Shit!" he says as he dropped his collection of supplies and started sprinting back to try and catch up with a string of profanities strewn along the way.

This was her fault. He wasn't sure how it was but it was her fault. The lord of metal eventually made his way through the village to find a group of men unloading the not smashed up truck. his eye twitched with some level of irritation. why the hell did he run the whole way here?

"Lord Heisenberg, it's good to see you've returned. Charlotte mentioned you would be catching up eventually before leaving to visit Lady Benevento." Luiza says with a curtsy as usual.

"Yeah sure," he waves it off as usual before the last bit of that statement caught his attention as he looked over and sure enough the gate to the creepy dollhouse was left partially open. once more he hurried on his way. "God Damn STUPID ASS clever bitch trying to get herself killed."

Wow, this area really needed some attention. Charlotte thought as she made mental notes of different supplies she'd need to start fixing up the place. the suspension bridge had a few dubious boards that definitely needed to be replaced. she'd have to look up how to replace those though. maybe one at a time and slowly make progress across? that could work. She focused on this to ignore the various hanging dolls and bodies in the trees. she hoped those were all dolls but at this point, she knew better. maybe she could suggest getting bodies from the trees for a while as a replacement for taking subjects from the village. it was kinda messed up but it would keep the already living alive...

As she walked she blinked and opened her eyes to find she was suddenly somewhere completely different. out in an open field filled with so many vibrant wildflowers that she couldn't see the ground. the sky was a clear crystal blue and spotted with clouds. She cautiously took a few steps forward and looked around. she could feel the flowers press against her legs and smell their scent. what the actual he- Her thoughts and footsteps cut short as the Luthier's daughter, her little construction helper, could be heard calling for her. She looked over to see the child playing by a ledge.

"What are you doing? That's dangerous," she said as she dropped the arm full of supplies and hurried over to the child. As she reached out to grab them she felt her hand go through and catch nothing, the ground starts to crumble under her and a strong arm catch her wrist to pull her back. She found herself tumbling as she was tossed back and away from the cliff edge. The illusion broke as she landed with a solid thud, her tumbling was stopped by large tree surrounded by broken dolls.

How did she get here? Charlotte thought as she pushed herself to sit up and look around. She saw Donna and Angie by the supplies she dropped a good 600 feet away. The currently un-masked woman stared at Charlotte with a horrified expression before quickly moving to hide her face by picking up one of the bolts of fabric and hides behind it while Angie danced around her while cackling.

She barely had time to notice the heavy footsteps coming towards her only looking over in time as Heisenberg reached down and scruffed her by the back of her dress to force her to stand. "Get up," he says in a low growl. "The hell were you thinking? Did you think I was fucking joking before?" he asks annoyed as he continues to drag her back the way she came.

"I was just trying to drop off some of the supplies," She says as she tried reaching back and attempts to pry free of his vise grip to no avail while stumbling to keep up.

"Yeah and I'm pretty sure I already told you that's a stupid ass idea," Heisenberg replies with a sneer as he eventually lets her go so she could walk ahead of him across the suspension bridge. "Unless you are specifically invited into an area you do not wander anywhere."

Technically yes he did maybe potentially mention that. "I didn't think tha-"

"And there's the MILLION DOLLAR PROBLEM," Heisenberg says after making their way across the bridge. "You didn't think. You're starting to relax. You cant do that here. Everything here can and will kill you, even me."

Charlotte frowns at that, she wanted to argue. He was wrong, the villagers were kind, Salvatore was kind. Hell, even he could be kind in his own demented way. The problem was Miranda.

"And considering I just kept you from jumping a cliff you could try and show some gratitude." He adds. Annoying as his tone was, he was right.

Charlotte took a breath to push down her own anger with how she was being spoken to. "My apologies for the inconve-"

"Oh cut the crap," Heisenberg says with a tired and irritated expression.

having her apology interrupted caused her to stare at him with renewed ire "You just said-" again he cut her off as they made it back to the gate.

"Yeah and you're speaking that eloquent fake shit a thank you is enough dumb ass" Heisenberg says as he stops walking.

"Fuck you, thank you" Charlotte replied as she resisted the urge to flip him off knowing metal would likely fly in from somewhere and chop the finger off.

"You wish, you're welcome" Heisenberg replies and the two stormed off to head to their own respective homes.

'*'*'*'*'

The two rather easily avoided each other after that. Charlotte continued her routine of waking up. Eating breakfast and taking medicine before purifying her daily allotment of water while Moreau got in his morning swim before spending the rest of the day on construction. After 20 days of work, she had two of the roofs fairly well patched up. Again it took a few tries before she finally got a decent technique going but the more she was working with her hands the better she became with this repair stuff.

"Charlotte, the sun is up," Moreau says as he gives her a nudge to wake her up. She could just set an alarm. She actually did for a few days but noticed that he seemed pouty after, that she had taken away part of his routine that he had become accustomed to now that she was staying with him at the reservoir so. the alarm was turned back off.

"Mk," she says and nods as she keeps her eyes shut "Thank you Salvatore," She says as she reaches around for her phone. what time did he wake her up today? Wednesday, October 23rd, 6:54 am...it was way too early... she held her face but pushed herself to get up. She gave a content sigh. No pain. 20 days of medication and she was pain-free and had stopped puking around a week ago. The medicine was finally working.

She smiled at this thought, she might survive a bit longer. she had a new issue coming on the horizon though. winter. Moreau might be able to handle the cold but she sure couldn't. While thinking this over the phone began to ring. Another meeting already? The lords just gathered earlier that week to go over demands and requests with testing.

"Hello," Moreau says and answers the phone. "oh..." he stops and puts it down on the table before looking at charlotte. "It's for you," he says with a slight frown. as he goes to get a chunk of cheese from his tin and munch on it in the meantime.

Weird, usually if Miranda called she'd have Moreau relay messages. all the same, she walked over to the table and picked up the phone. "Hello?"

"Hey, you didn't forget about our deal did you?" Heisenberg asks without much other greeting or fanfare.

"I was also told not to go anywhere unless I was directly invited." Charlotte points out with a bored and unamused tone. "After all, Everything here can and will kill me, even you." a small smirk curled on her face as she could hear his frustration with her using his own words against him. "Am I Invited?" she asks figuring she'd give him a slight out. he did end up saving her skin before.

"Little shit, I swear to god" He grumbles under his breath. "FINE. You are invited to the factory."

"I'll be there as soon as possible," she replies

"If you take your time I'm locking you out," Heisenberg replies before hanging up.

Lord he was such a child. had to have the last word. She hung up the phone and went over to her supplies to grab the tinfoil and hot glue gun.

"Whats did brother want?" Moreau asks as he tilts his head slightly.

"He needs a bit of help with his computer," Charlotte replies smoothly. "I'm guessing I'm just going to be doing the documentation for all the lords at this rate." she adds with an amused smile.

"oh..." Moreau says with a slight frown. "He's mean. Be carefuls. Okay?"

the warning caused a soft smile to cross her face. he really was rather sweet to worry. "Yeah, he can be a bit of a jerk."

"And a showoff," Moreau adds with a nod.

"And he smells like rotten tar," Charlotte adds with a smile, the insult causes Moreau to chuckle.

"Don't let him hears you say that." Moreau warns before looking around "but you is right."

Charlotte laughs at that "Okay, well. I'll be careful. If I don't come back you know where I am."

Again he frowned slightly but nods as Charlotte heads out with the box of tin foil and hot glue gun in hand.

"Morning Charlotte," Greeted one of the fishermen.

"Morning Dave," She called back as she made her way to the northern Sluice gate and crossed there to get to the mountain pass up towards the factory. It saved her a bit of a trip as opposed to going into the village and then back down towards the factory. Where did she even start with getting Heisenberg caught up? Maybe start with the basics? What even were the basics...

She mulled over this as she went ahead and made her way up to the gate of the factory. as she did so it opened on its own.

"Took you long enough," She heard over a loudspeaker which caused her to roll her eyes.

Lord give her strength. she made her way up the hill.. I'm sorry was that a tank? she stopped to stare at some of the scraps laying around outside of the factory. She knew he was trying to build an army but that was some detection to have an entire fricking tank in his front yard. two. how? why? Where did he even get these?

She shook her head as the large barn-like double doors slide open on their own. the area looked more like an abandoned garage than anything else as Hisenburg walked out of a second set of double doors with barred windows to the back of the room.

"Welcome to my humble abode," he says and gestures around a bit. this... honestly wasn't much better than the tiny room in the mines Charlotte thought as she remained blissfully unaware of the sprawling underground network of tunnels below her.

"Thanks" She wasn't really sure how else to reply to that. Humble did seem to describe the place rather aptly. "So, Where is your laptop set up?" she asks curiously.

"do you need it?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

"I was going to give it a slight upgrade while we talk," she says with a nod.

"It's over on the table," he says as he gestures back into the room he just came from.

"Thank you" She heads over and finds the laptop was plugged into an extension cord which she uses to start up the hot glue gun. With that taken care of she takes out her phone from her Pinafore pocket and opens up a tab on the internet to search for 'list of historical events by year'

History: the world's most important event, every year since 1920

perfect! She starts scrolling through it. "Were you were you able to learn much about the world while you were out of the village before?" She asks figuring that would be a decent place to start so she knows where to pick up on the list.

"Let's just assume I don't know anything," Heisenberg replies as he moves to take a seat while Charlotte stands by the computer table.

"Okay, we'll pick up with 1920 then," Charlotte replies and starts going down the list year by year. every so often he'd stop her to have her clarify or provide more information. She'd answer to the best of her ability and if she didn't know she'd open a new tab to look up the answer instead. as they went through this exercise Charlotte worked on the computer. She'd pop off one of the keys, ripe off a piece of tinfoil and ad a thin amount of hot glue to the inside of the key to hold the piece of tinfoil in place. She'd wait for it to dry then snap the key back into place. Because of the multitude of questions that each year brought she didn't really make much of a dent in the list.

"1953, The dawn of DNA" Charlotte starts as she pops the last key back into place. That had been a bit of a task and a half but she had a feeling this was going to be useful for him.

"the shit is a DNA?" Heisenberg asks with a confused frown. Always with the acronyms why can't people just say words?

"You are," Charlotte replies as she turns around to look at him and sit back against the table.

He stared at her with an unamused expression as he clearly took that as an insult. Which caused Charlotte to chuckle "No, seriously. DNA is what helps make you, you. It's in charge of genetic inheritance and based on the notes here, in 1953 it was discovered how it worked to replicate itself and pass on genes from one generation to the next"

"It can replicate itself?" He says a bit confused but impressed as gears start whirling away in his mind on how he could use this information. if human cells could replicate themself maybe he could do something like that on a larger scale... "How does that work?"

Charlotte winced a bit at that, "um well that's a bit complicated to explain but..." an idea came to mind "Where is your Wireless hot spot?"

he stares at her.

"The tiny black box that has to have power for the computer to connect to the spreadsheet for Miranda's database," Charlotte asks with a slight frown.

"Ah, that," he says as he gets up and walks over to get the tiny box that was plugged into the main outlet.

"Let me see it?" she requests as she motions for him to give it to her. He raises an eyebrow, he wasn't sure what this had to do with cellular replication but he compiles and hands over the small box. Upon receiving it Charlotte presses and holds the button down with one hand to force a factory reset while she picks up her phone with her other hand and starts poking around at the screen. it took a good 10 minutes but she hands the box back to Heisenberg. "There. I need to head out soon but took off the firewall Miranda asked me to put on these things in the first place. If she asks it's still there. You can now use the internet as you see fit, to search for whatever you want. If you want to get into more in-depth DNA theory it's yours to study."

Hold up, who said she was allowed to leave? "Firewall?" he asks with a slight frown.

Oh lord. "A programming setting that blocks incoming and outgoing access to certain functions. In your case, 99.999% of the internet. Congratulations. You now have the world's knowledge at your fingertips for any questions you can think of." She says and motions for him to join her by the table. "I'll show you how to use it before I go. but first. I made a slight upgrade to your keyboard so it might be easier for you to use."

He walks over and looks at the keyboard. it looked the same to him. "What changed?"

"I added a tiny piece of metal foil under each key. you should be able to push the buttons without using your hands now," she explains with a proud nod.

He looks at the foil by the computer and the glue stick. before holding up his hand and giving it a bit of a flick causing all of the keys to float up before dropping.

She forced a neutral expression as she watched the keys clatter against the table and floor then moved to rub her forehead. God damn it. "you push down on the keys not pull up they cant support the weight of the machine," she says with frustration evident in her tone. He chuckled at her frustration. She said that as if he didn't already know that. pulling up on the keys did exactly what he'd meant to do. "This is going to take forever to fix..." She adds as her tone shifts to defeat as she starts picking up the pieces.

"Guess you better get to work," He says with a shrug as he walks back to his seat "What year were we on again?"

Charlotte gives a tired sigh. "1954"

'*'*'*'*'

By the time she was able to get all the keys back into place, the sun was starting to set. "Alright, now I really need to go," Charlotte says with a slight frown as she looks to the doorway and sees the orange sunset.

"Fine fine, Oh right," Heisenberg says before motioning for her to follow him as he walks out of the factory. "I'd say that upgrade of yours and the flame wall override you did, earned you a bit of info."

Charlotte followed him with the tinfoil and hot glue gun in hand. The two made their way into the village and to the center rather than through the outskirts. sitting off to the side of the village center was a huge horse-drawn cart with a man that was larger than life itself.

"Lord Heisenberg," the man says with a polite tone. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Just here for introductions," He says as he gestures to Charlotte. "This is the fish freak's new assistant."

"Oooh, Lord Moreau's new assistant. I've heard plenty about you already Mrs. Wiltse. A woman of business. I can respect that. It's a pleasure to officially make your acquaintance." he makes a wide gesture to the small boxes around him "Welcome to Duke's emporium. Connoisseur of exotic food and drink. Providing quality goods and Information on Anyone Anywhere at Any Time."

Well, that wasn't a disturbing slogan in the slightest. "You already know me?"

"Naturally," He replies as he moves to hold his hands. "No one's a stranger to the Emporium."

and cue the nervous internal laughing. why did that sound more like a threat? "I see, Well it's a pleasure to officially meet you as well."

"While you're here, could you be a dear and bring Lord Moreau his latest shipment of supplies. Normally I'd deliver it myself but it seems you've saved me the trip" The duke requests as he digs around to grab a cloth bag.

"Of course, I'd be more than happy to" she replied in a similar business-toned fashion out of habit from hearing how the duke spoke. How had she never noticed this guy before? he was huge! "I have seen your notes before. I'm surprised it's taken us this long to meet."

"Those who know where to look tend to know where to find me, Mrs. Wiltse. I look forward to seeing you more regularly." The duke replies in turn which didn't exactly instill much faith in the guy but if he accepted money and had what she needed she was not going to be picky. All the same, he hands over a familiar bundle with a tin of fine cheese inside.

"I've got a bit of talking to do with the Duke, so you run along, kid, before your late for curfew or whatever it is that's got your knickers in a twist," Heisenberg says as he waves her off. In his mind, he did his part. she knew where to look for Duke now.

Charlotte frowns but nods as she accepts the bundle. it's not like she had her money with her to make any purchases and even then she only had a handful of coins left anyways. "I'll see you around," she says and walks off since she was dismissed. They didn't really work out a schedule but she didn't really feel like saying any more than she had to in front of Duke.

"Yeah sure," Heisenburg replies, and with that Charlotte made her way back to the Reservoir.

upon making it back she noticed Moreau wandering around. oh dear, hopefully, he hadn't been too worried. Sweet thing. "Hey," Charlotte calls to get his attention which causes him to look over "Special delivery from the duke."

"oooh, you mets Duke?" Moreau asks surprised, "that is for me?"

"yep, dinner time," she says as she offers him the bundle which he happily accepts.

"Dinner is good," he says with a nod before looking to Charlotte. "Do you want to watch another movie with me?" he offers which causes Charlotte to smile.

"Sure, let's watch a movie" She agrees and heads inside with him.

Tadah, a chapter with lots of Heisenberg in it just like I promised lol. they're still a bit snippy with each other but they're making progress.

Black Moon's Daughter - Lol Nah Nah you're good ^v^ not thing poorly taken that was my fault. it's hard to joke around in text. Heisenberg is definitely started to show a bit more interest in her existence now that she's proving she's useful x'D and even being a Lil turd about it by forcing her to stay longer by breaking the computer on purpose. ufufu.

Scary Berry - of course~ haha I'll definitely have to include some autocorrect fails in the future x'D maybe I'll have Charlotte get Heisenberg a phone so he can practice texting.
