Hello hello~ so the results are in for the Poll from last week. Hopefully, that's enough time to leave it open. Including comment votes, we got 1 vote to have Charlotte recover, we had 5 votes for remaining in the gray area, and one for a slightly darker gray area. So overall, I'm saying that's a net win for the gray area. She's not going to fully recover, and she's not going to get worse than she already is.

There was also generally positive feedback for the quick wedding. [Insert confused Kiwi sounds here] I honestly thought I was going to get put on a stake for that one. That being said, there was some interest in something potentially more romantic later on, which I'm happy to say I will be obliging. Just not in this chapter because we gotta heist to pull off.

February passed by in an arduous wait, which continued well into March. The final roadblock was about to be cleared, and the two had waited for almost a year at this point. Freedom and closure was within their grasp. The two were sitting at the dining room table with another one of Charlotte's attempts at cooking sitting between them Some runny undercooked rice and unseasoned ground beef that was, to her credit, not undercooked or overcooked.

Heisenberg mentally grimaced while looking at the 'meal'. Maybe he shouldn't have complained about the foam box meals...

Charlotte stared at the attempt that neither of them were moving to eat. "... do you want to just order a pizza?" she offers in return.

"Pizza sounds good," He agrees with a nod. "You didn't catch the water for the rice on fire this time though, and the meat is cooked but not burnt, so it's definitely an improvement?" he offers as an attempt at a complement.

Charlotte rolls here eyes at that. you catch water on fire one time by adding hot oil, and he just won't let it go. She dialed the number for the Pizza place and waited on the line.

"Pat's Pizza how can I help you?" asks a tired teen on the other end of the line.

"Hi, I'd like to place an order for" she pauses as her phone starts to vibrate. Charlotte moved the phone away from here ear long enough to see that she was getting a call from the lawyer in charge of the green card. "I'm going to have to call you back," she says instead, before ending the call with the Pizza place in favor of picking up the incoming call.

"Charlotte speaking," Charlotte says with a hopeful tone. maybe it was good news?

"Madam Director, I was hoping I'd be able to get a hold of you." The lawyer says with a pleased tone. "I have good news, The shipping tracker has indicated that the Green Card has been dropped off at the office. You should be able to pick it up first thing in the morning." They explain, likely thrilled since it meant they'd have one less thing distracting them from working on more important company matters.

"That's wonderful to hear, thank you for letting me know," Charlotte replies just as excited. "I'll see you first thing in the morning then."

"See you then," the lawyer replies.

"Bye" Charlotte says before hanging up and looking over at Heisenberg. "It's time."

"Let's get to work then," Heisenberg replies with an amused smirk.

The two had spent several weeks putting together a more detailed plan for how to go about pulling off their little stunt in the making. By Friday, April 29th they were ready to put the plan into motion. Heisenberg sat in Charlotte's office, who was looking over documents for the day while waiting for the time to tick down. Her father had a meeting in 5 minutes on the 3rd floor that was scheduled to last for an hour.

"Do you remember where to go?" she asks quietly while looking over the papers.

"Relax, I got this," He says in return with an amused smile. "Excited for our vacation next week?"

"Alright, you should head out then, I'll get into position," She says in return as she puts down the document she was reviewing.

Heisenberg nods and gets up, he was more than content with helping cause a bit of trouble. Charlotte waits a good 3 minutes after Heisenberg left, then grabbed her purse so she could head out as well. She made her way up the stairs instead of down so she could wait behind the door for the floor that lead to her father's office.

Heisenberg whistles to himself while calmly walking down the hallway of the floor that housed the server room. 3, 4. 5 doors down. he smiled as he found the right one and kept walking past it to make sure that would be recorded on any security footage before sending out a magnetic pulse. A quiet hum dulled as the server room became silent.

"Bingo," he says with a smirk before heading over to the nearby switch for the fire alarm and used his powers to cause that to flip without using the switch.

Blaring sirens took the place of the server room's hum and sprinklers started to dowse the area with water.

Charlotte smiled as the alarm sounded and sprinklers started going off, causing a few startled shouts and screams as the workers did not appreciate the fact that it was raining indoors. the door swung open and Charlotte hide behind it as everyone on that floor quickly left and made their way down the stairs to get to safety.

Just to be safe, she waited a few minutes longer before opening the door and heading inside. She was soaked at this point, but she didn't mind or care. Instead, she focused on shuffling through drawers and cabinets as quickly as she could in an attempt to find anything that could be useful.

Charlotte sat down at his desk and booted up the screen of her father's computer to start digging through desktop files. nothing.

"Damn it, come on. Where is it?" She muttered as the sprinklers continued to do their job. there had to be something. where was it?

She stayed in her father's seat as she started opening and closing the drawers of the desk, only to find one near the top was locked. There. if anything was hidden that she wasn't supposed to find, it was going to be in the one locked drawer. Charlotte looked around for the lock only to find a set of tumblers displayed a set of 8 numbers along the side of the desk to keep it hidden.

"Well that's excessive," she says under her breath with a frown. an 8-digit number... she looked around the room before noticing the picture of her mother on her father's desk... She frowns and tries using her mother's birthday. nope. their anniversary?

Click.

Charlotte shook her head. This is why you never use a date as a password, she thought as she opened the draw and found some old newspaper clippings, files and a black leather-bound book. She was running out of time, and she knew it. Whatever all of this was, it was her best bet, and she knew it. So she grabbed as much as she could, stuffed it into her purse to protect it from the sprinklers, and left to start making her way down the stairs and to join everyone else outside.

Rather than stay in the crowd she made her way over to her car where a sopping wet Heisenberg was waiting.

"Ready?" He asks curiously and Charlotte nods.

"Let's go," Charlotte says as she digs through her purse to get out her car keys to unlock the vehicle so they could both get in.

"Did you find what you needed?" Heisenberg asks as she starts the car.

"I think so, there was only one drawer in the whole office that was locked," Charlotte replies. "I couldn't look it over in the office, the sprinklers were relentless." She explained earning a few grumbles in response.

"So we might not have anything even after all that?" Heisenberg asks concerned, as she starts pulling out so they could leave. no one would really bat an eyelash at it. the building was likely shut down for the rest of the day.

"Potentially," Charlotte admits quietly, and drove them both back home as they waited in nervous silence.

Once they made it home, Charlotte went up to the kitchen table and put down her purse so she could start digging through the information and papers she collected.

She opened the black leather book and read over the data it held. "Hold on, I recognize some of this..." She says as she continued to read over the pages. Written in the book was information regarding some older deals for the company. Definitely not the oldest by any extent of the imagination, but they certainly predated her existence.

Striker LLC - Urban loan shark division in. the ink was smudged after that before picking up again. Loan granted for organization up keep and further dispersion, under venture funding request 19321-vf2. Funding transferred to holding account. Additional 15% interest expected.

Western LLC - West coast Loan shark division in southern California - Loan granted for organization up keep and further dispersion, under venture funding request 20121-vf4. Funding transferred to holding account. Additional 20% interest expected.

she gets out her phone to check out this Western group mentioned, and sure enough it was a code name for a group of loan sharks in southern California with ties to other gangs. Charlotte continued to read down the page. as similar deals were listed with various notes of interest, she flipped through the pages. She eventually went upstairs to get her laptop and the external hard drive that had the back-up of the older files that she saved before and started digging through that to match it up with what was written in the book.

Some of the deals where genuine while others were definitely lined to some form of gang activity and on the latest page was just what she wanted to see. Listed among other transactions that her father was keeping an eye on was the one from duke that she gave him. with a note saying 'international Pharmaceutical deal. Big news. keep an eye on this one".

"Hey Karl," She says with a smile, "I think we got something."

"So when are we flying out?" Karl says with a smile.

"Get packed, we're heading out first thing tomorrow morning. I want to see if we can make it there by tomorrow night," She replies as she starts clicking around to print out what she could from the external hard drive, so long as it would help prove her point. It was going to require a bit of a stretch of the imagination, but this Chris guy seemed to have a 'seek and destroy' mentality when it came to anything bioweapons. Hopefully, the confirmed gang activity would be enough to get him to look into the Pharmaceutical listing if she said it might be connected…

'*'*'*'*'

The two left first thing in the morning and took a rather cheap flight which resulted in several lay overs but before long they landed and they were able to get a rental car to drive to the address that Charlotte had found before.

"You're sure, this is the right place?" Heisenberg asks confused as he looked around. this place looked like a pretty standard American suburb. It wasn't Military housing or near a base at all. It definitely wasn't cranky giving off any sort of indicator that a cranky boulder puncher lived there.

"Pretty sure, the report had his face on it," Charlotte says as she turned off the car. "only one way to find out."

"Thank the lord we allotted a week for actually finding this guy," Heisenberg says under his breath as he moved to get out of the car. He walked with Charlotte up to the front door and after a silent exchange of wondering who was going to ring the doorbell, Charlotte stepped forward to press the button.

A soft chime could be heard followed by barking that was quickly hushed. Charlotte and Heisenberg waited as motion could be heard shortly after and the sliding metal of a lock being undone. However, to their surprise, the door opened and revealed a woman who was a few inches shorter than Charlotte. The apron she was wearing made it all the more apparent that she was expecting and likely starting her second trimester.

"Hi, can I help you?" the woman asks curiously, with a content and gentle smile.

"Um. Sorry, I think we have the wrong house," Charlotte says as confusion plagued her tone and expression. She could have sworn she had the right address.

"Oh," the woman replies, unbothered. "Who are you looking for? I'm afraid we only just moved in a year ago so, I'm not particularly familiar with everyone but. I can probably point you in the right direction."

"We're looking for Chris Redfield," Charlotte replies.

"The guy's around my height, has a perpetual scowl and looks like a brick wall with legs, Punches boulders for fun," Heisenberg lists off in case that helps.

"Well, good news, you have the right house," the woman says while clearly trying not to laugh. "Come in, I'll let him know you're here," She adds while opening the door a bit further so they could walk in.

Charlotte and Heisenberg look at each other with shared confusion but nod and enter the house, following behind the apron-wearing lady who closed the door behind them. After walking past the main entry area, they found a cozy-looking open living space that smelled like a freshly made home-cooked meal. A carpeted area was separated off by couches as a living room and a dining room table with 3 place settings neatly arranged filled the space between the living room and kitchen

"Sorry about the mess, I would have cleaned a bit more if I knew he invited friends over." She explains as Charlotte and Karl take the seats offered to them. Scattered around the living room were various children's toys, and an older dog was resting on the other couch with a worn-out teddy bear in its mouth.

"It's not a problem, we didn't exactly tell him we were stopping by... I don't think I caught your name," Charlotte says while looking around a bit. None of this made sense. She was expecting more of. Well. She wasn't sure what she was expecting but, not this, that's for sure. This looked like a normal suburban home for a normal family.

"Emma, It's always nice to meet friends of Chris's," She replies as a thought came to mind. "Actually, dinner should be ready in a few minutes. Would you care to join us, or do you need to be on your way?" The woman asks, still calm and peaceful as could be.

Heisenberg could feel the corner of his mouth pull to a slight smirk as he looked over to Charlotte. Sure enough, she was looking back at him with a similar expression.

"Sure, we'd love to," Charlotte agrees while smiling. This was going to be amazing. A little cherry on top for this whole trip.

"Excellent, I'll add two plates to the table then," She says while walking over to the kitchen to take care of that.

"What were your names again?" Emma asks while digging through the cabinets. "Chris is upstairs in his office at the moment, but I can send him a text to let him know you're here," she offers, likely to avoid having to go up and downstairs.

"No need, we'll just talk to him when he comes down for dinner," Heisenberg says with a short chuckle.

"My name's Charlotte, however, and this is my Husband, Karl." Charlotte adds as they both seemed to be on the same page. They wanted to see his reaction to the two of them sitting at his table as guests.

"Not a problem, again it's a pleasure to meet you both," Emma says as she finished collecting the extra supplies for the table.

Heisenberg looked around a bit as well and noticed a guitar off to the corner of the room. "Are you a musician?" He asks while gesturing to the guitar.

"Hm? Oh. No, that's Chris's. He's been picking it up again lately," Emma replies as two plates along with silverware and glasses were added to the table for them. "He's still a bit shy about it, but he's gotten rather good."

The boulder punching Asshole had a wife, a kid based on all the toys lying around, another on the way and hobbies? What the hell? What? No.

A few more minutes passed, and serving dishes were added to the table. "If you'd like, you can pick your seats at the table." she says before heading out of the living area and over to the stair by the front door. "Time for dinner!" she calls up the stairs.

"Yey!" says the voice of an excited child.

Heisenberg and Charlotte get up and head over to the table. To Heisenberg's surprise, it was a well-prepared meal. "What's this?" he asks, gesturing to the food while taking a seat.

"Oh. I probably should have mentioned that. It's lemon garlic chicken, quinoa, apple walnut salad, and there's some Peach cake for dessert if you'll be sticking around for that," Emma says with a happy smile. A thought comes to mind as her expression shifts to concern. "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I should have asked if you have allergies."

Yeah, they were staying for dinner. "No, that's not it... You made all this?" Heisenberg asks while internally cursing. That lucky bastard. This just wasn't fair.

"Yeah. It's nothing special, honestly. My Father is a professional chef, so I learned a few things from him growing up," Emma explains as they three of them take their seats. Charlotte and Heisenberg sat next to each other, and Emma sat across from Heisenberg.

"Can you teach her?" he says while pointing at Charlotte.

"Oh really?" Charlotte glared over at Heisenberg. Forget the couch, he can sleep on the floor.

"I mean, I'm certain that's not necessary," Emma replies with a nervous chuckle as a little girl who appeared to be around 5 years old with pale blond hair made her way over to the table and happily takes her seat next to Emma and across from Charlotte.

"Exactly. I'm working on it," Charlotte says annoyed before looking to Emma. "I may have managed to burn water the other day, and he won't let it go."

"Oh," Emma says, as she was uncomfortable with the situation, and shifts her attention to making sure the child's food is cut up into bites as a distraction.

"Hey Em, who was at the do-" Chris walks in and pauses as his previously relaxed expression hardens into a glare upon seeing the two. "-or... What the hell are you doing in my house?" He asks annoyed.

"Well, I believe we were invited to have dinner," Charlotte says with an amused smile. His expression was priceless. Getting to see that moment of realization that he wasn't as top secret as he thought he was. It's beautiful.

"What," He asks in perplexed disbelief as he looks at Emma.

"It's true, we just stopped by and Little miss sunshine over there invited us to eat with you after letting us in," Heisenberg says while getting in on the fun. Emma's concerned expression from before compounded as it became a bit more apparent she might have maybe messed up.

The agent definitely looked pissed off, but instead a surprising answer was provided. "Fine," He says as he begrudgingly moves to take a seat at the head of the table between Emma and Heisenberg. "Em, could you pass the salad?"

"Sure," She replies, and does so while cautiously glancing over at Charlotte and Heisenberg now that it was more apparent that they weren't who she thought they were.

They'd been prepared for him to go full asshole mode and lash out, to shout and scream. instead, he was calm and went with it. WHAT? Heisenberg looks from the well-prepared meal to Emma then Chris and back and forth between the two. Tiny ball of sunshine. Buff Storm Cloud. Peaceful mellow happiness. Seething anger and hatred. Makes cakes. Murders things.

"How in the actual Fuck did this happen?" Heisenberg asks the question that he and Charlotte had both been thinking at this point.

"Karl," Charlotte says with a half-hearted frown.

"Nah nah nah, That is a completely valid question. You mean to tell me I've had to deal with Hard ass McDickwad and this whole time you're secretly some Gooey gummy bear father of two?" That is some BULL. SHIT. "And frankly, I'm not sure how to break it to you, but that one definitely doesn't look like you're the father." he says while gesturing to the child across the table.

"Please mind your language," Emma says with a frown.

Oh really? Heisenberg thought with mock amusement.

"Chris isn't my dad..." the child replies while poking at their plate of food, which caused the table to pause.

Op. he found a sore spot. "Well," Okay, he'd shut up now, he thought as he moved to serve himself.

"How did you find me?" Chris asks to change the subject.

"Gracious Mr. Redfield, you're not the only one that can do a reverse phone number lookup," Charlotte replies with a bored tone, though she was more than content. "Besides, I have something that might interest you."

"And that is?" he asks shortly as he starts serving himself.

"You seemed rather intent that something was wrong, considering you broke into my house and had me arrested." Charlotte says as she serves herself from what remained after everyone else had filled their plates. "Thanks for leaving the door on the ground for a MONTH by the way. I enjoyed having to sleep with bugs and rats and finding whatever else moved in during that time," she adds annoyed, putting down the last serving dish in the middle of the table, so she could shift to dig through her purse. "Luckily, unlike you, I'm not one to sit around and not take action after finding out there is a problem."

"If you're just here to insult me, you can go," Chris says before shifting his focus to eating his meal as his patience seemed to already be spent.

"So I looked into it." Charlotte continued, though her tone more so said 'dont cut me off', as she takes out the book and files from her purse and hand them to Karl to pass down.

Heisenberg accepts the bundle and offers if to Chris, who cautiously takes it to look it over. Chris looks over the book before looking to Emma who had a similar concerned stare.

"You weren't barking up the right tree, but you were in the right orchard it seems," Charlotte says before sipping at her glass of water.

Chris looks over the files with a frown for a few minutes as the others continued their meals. "This is a lot of information. Care to tell me what I'm looking at?"

"I suppose that is in the interest of brevity," Charlotte agrees, while Heisenberg was content to munch on his plate of food and stay out of this. It was her fight, he was just here to help if she needed it and have a good time messing with the prick. Getting a good meal out of all this was definitely a bonus.

"It's a record of underground transactions from within the company my family owns," Charlotte explains. "You're unusually adamant suspicion that I was involved made me curious enough to do some digging of my own," She admits before taking a bite of her food. "Turns out my father has been sneaking around and running some organization and laundering that through the company."

"And does that organization go by any name in particular?" Emma asks curiously.

"Not sure. I'll give my father some credit, he gave different regions different names to try and make it harder to trace further than a local level. The only way to trace it back to him would be to start at the center. Luckily for you, I had that access," Charlotte says in return before looking at Chris. "And it appears he might be branching out into bioweaponary."

"Really?" Chris asks with renewed interest as he looks back at the papers.

"It seems so. When I got back, there was an unusual funding request left on my desk. One for some European medical company. I was rather against the idea of funding it, but my father was adamant and approved it. We're an American-based company, we don't usually deal with international funding, so it was rather odd," Charlotte explains while continuing to bait the water for Chris to take the case.

"After finding out that there is apparently some second mold site thanks to that court trial, the timing just seemed very unusual. Once I got back, I started looking around and that's what I found." She says as she gestures to the book and files she'd handed over. "The book is a list of transactions he's personally keeping an eye on, and the notes with it link back to this organization he's involved with. The files appear to be regular transactions for approved funding ventures, but once you compare it to the book, he's funneling money out of the company under the guise of a venture." She explained as Chris looked over the documents that were starting to make more sense. "It's been excessively difficult to track since he's been putting the money back too. Charging some extra interest rate to the organization to take that off the top before handing the borrowed money back to the company, so the books stay balanced." Charlotte says, mildly impressed with the scheme she found. It probably would have continued to work if she wasn't so cross with her father.

"And guess which medical company is on his list of funding to watch?" Charlotte asks rhetorically before going back to her meal. The more of the group had finished eating while she and Chris were talking.

"I'll admit, you might have something." Chris says reluctantly. "The BSAA doesn't like to take information leads like this though. You'll need to bring it in and provide a statement with it." he says as he puts the papers back into a neat pile on the table.

Charlotte smiles. Perfect. "Naturally. Would you be able to schedule that while we're here?" she requests in return.

Chris hesitates a moment, but does end up nodding. "... Yeah. Let me go and get my laptop. I can probably get you penciled in to talk to the director on Monday," Chris says as he moves to get up to go head upstairs to get his laptop.

"I'm done now," The child says and pushes her empty plate away.

"Okay," Emma says as she gets up so she could pick up her plate and the child's plate. The woman looks to Heisenberg. "You're more than welcomed to have seconds if you're still hungry, but if not, Is it alright if I take your plate as well?"

"Go for it," he says in return as he waves of the offer.

Emma takes the plate and silverware and adds that to the stack, which she starts carrying over to the kitchen. The child hurries out of her seat to follow the woman and tugs on her apron.

"Emma, can I have cookies?" the child asks with excited curiosity.

Heisenberg raises an eyebrow at this. What child called their mother by their first name? With Chris, it made sense, he wasn't her father but with Emma, that was just a bit weird.

"Cookies? Are you sure Rosey? I made cake," Emma asks curiously in return.

Rosey? Rose. ROSEMARY? That kid was rosemary? How? Rosemary was a baby when he last saw her, and that kid had to be closer to fi-...the mold. Of course... Chris wasn't her father. Emma wasn't her mother either. This was slowly starting to make more sense to the metal lord who laughed as he moved to stand up and starts walking around the table towards the two.

"So this is where he's been stashing the kid? Figures he wouldn't let a bioweapon out of his sight," Heisenberg says, with the beginning hints of annoyance in his tone.

Charlotte frowned as she remained seated. "Karl, we're not after the kid," she reminds in a warning tone.

Hearing this was enough to tip off Emma that Heisenberg was becoming a more active threat. "Rose, stay behind me," She says as she quickly put down the collection of dishes on the counter while making sure to stay between Heisenberg and the child as she slowly starts backing up.

The warning did little to deter him, and he continued walking forward. "What a Fuckin' hypocrite," Heisenberg says, giving a wave of his hand to use his magnetic powers to get the kitchen knife set from their resting place and have them float around him at the read. "Can't work with a bioweapon. Nooo. He's gotta make sure I'm good and dead. Then he turns around and raises one?" He says with clear and open ire. "FUCK THAT!" He loudly announced as one of the knives whiz forward past Emma's face and burrows into the wall behind her as a warning shot.

Emma Flinches but stays between the two as Rose yelps and clings to her caretaker's leg, making it difficult for her to back up any further.

"So, what's the play, huh?" he asks as he stops to stand in front of her, knives still ready to act on his command. "Keep her like a pet whiles she's cute and little, then lead her to slaughter once she's older?" He accused venomously. This bitch really had him fooled. He'd thought she was some cutesy little homely folk. No. she was just as complacent in all of this. He looks over to Rose. "You know that's what he does, right? He hunts, and kills, people like us without a second thought."

"NOOO!" Rose howls and the knives drop from the air and clatter against the ground. Heisenberg watched this happen as his anger turned to confusion. How did that happen? He didn't do that. "What th-" He started, only for his world to go dark.

Charlotte watched from her place at the table as Emma had slowly been backing up towards a wooden broom that was resting against the corner of the kitchen counters. The second that the knives were no longer a threat, she reached back to grab the cleaning instrument and swung it at the metal lord. A resounding Crack could be heard as the long hearty wooden handle broke and splintered upon impact, causing Heisenberg to hit his head as he fell to the ground, which knocked him out.

A tired sigh crosses Charlotte's lips as she put down her fork. "Yeah, he deserved that one. Sorry about him. He gets like that sometimes." she says, as if her husband hadn't just been threatening the two.

Shaking from the situation, the pregnant woman remains still but begins to shout. "CHRIS!" she calls, which causes quickened footsteps to hurry down the stairs.

"Oh dear, here we go." Charlotte says as she moves to get up. "I'll show myself out." she says as Chris hurries back into the room armed and ready.

"What happened, what's going on?" Chris says while looking around for some form of threat as he could hear Rose crying.

"Put that down," Charlotte says, shaking her head. "He's already knocked out."

"What did you do?" he asks while staying in her way.

"Karl realized the little girl was the one from the village," Charlotte explains with a shrug. "I'd much rather get out of your hair at this point. I should have known better than to bring him with." Needless to say she was Pissed. a year of planning. Wasted. because HE had to go and get distracted.

"Out," Chris orders as he motions for her to leave.

"Working on it," Charlotte agrees as she holds her hands up to signal that she wasn't hostile. "Just toss him outside if you don't mind, and we'll be on our way." she says as she was pretty annoyed with Heisenberg for messing this up so badly at the last second. they were RIGHT THERE. The end was in sight. "The courts won't be happy if they find out that you hurt him after they said to let him alone after all," Charlotte adds, hoping that would be enough to keep Chris from just walking over and putting a few bullets in the guy's head.

Chris scowls at that and walks over to grab the man by the ankle and drag him out of the house. "Do not come back," Chris says in a warning tone. "or not even a court order will keep me from taking action."

"Understood," she says as the door was slammed shut and locked.

Charlotte kneels to try and put Heisenberg's arm over her shoulder and get him back over to the car. Looks like they were going to need to think of another plan...

'*'*'*'*'

Meanwhile, back in New York, Monday eventually arrived and everyone was back to work.

Charlotte's father sat at his desk with a terrifyingly enraged expression. The draw that Charlotte emptied-out was opened as he found that he'd been robbed. He was staring at his monitory when a knock was heard at his door.

"Come in," he says with an attempt at a calm voice though he was clearly upset.

A man in a suit walks in and closes the door behind him before walking over to stand in front of the desk.

"You called for me sir?" he asks in an even tone, only for Charlotte's father to turn the monitor so the man could see it. The screen showed a webcam recording of Charlotte sitting down at the desk and rifling through his things before ultimately taking everything from the drawer.

"I'm done playing these games. She wants a fight? Then she's getting it." "If she wants me as an enemy, she's going to learn a damn important lesson. Find her, and figure out where the book is." The man says with a sneer.

"Yes sir." the man replies with a nod before turning to leave.

Tadah~ the plot thickens =v=/ next chapter is going to be a DOOZY. be prepared for drama and the inclusion of a reader suggestion. not gonna say which one though to avoid spoilers.
