PSA... Here are the correct spellings and meanings of "loose" and "lose":

- Loose rhymes with moose, goose, noose, truce, and caboose. It's an adjective. It means, "not tight," or "having freedom." On rare occasions, it can be a verb (past tense, "loosed") meaning, "to set free."

- Lose rhymes with snooze, dues, clues, booze, and whose. It's a verb (past tense, "lost"). It means, "to fail to keep," or "to be deprived of."

i.e. "My shoelaces are loose. I'd better tighten them or I might lose my shoes when they go flying off my feet."
