Heroic New Era: New Beginnings
Chapter 9: An Enemy Within
A few minutes after the Metal Gear incident, everyone who had joined the O.I.M. from that world was soon settling in to their new lifestyles. In the meantime the Golden Blaze was soon seen flying over the next world with a timeline interference, as Siege and Richard soon looked it over.
"Seems like it's a world similar to that one game… what was it? Batman: The Enemy Within or something like that? Regardless it's a Telltale game where literally every choice of words or actions makes a difference for the characters." Siege mused, looking at the world.
"Heard about it." RIchard answered back. "Poor Kaguya's been wracking her brain trying to find out the web of outcomes each choice makes. But I assume that this is at a different time, as you might have observed?"
"Yes. It seems to be set after the initial events of the game, where Batman has managed to befriend and have a good ending with not only John Doe but also Selina Kyle." Siege explained. "From the looks of things, that is. We'll try to get them on our side as allies, but we won't necessarily take them with us, they have Gotham to defend after all. No, my goal is someone else down there. This world seems to house it's own version of the White Fang, and Blake Belladonna is included. If we can secure Blake's allegiance we'll have three fourths of Team RWBY, a member from each universe. Considering our Yang lost hers… this is mainly for her sake. Of course, we'll also be trying to stop whatever corruption of this world's timeline is. I'm planning on sending Yang down from my side. You got any candidates to support her?"
"Wait, three-fourth? Not including Yang herself, I don't recall another member of team- Oh, silly me. Weiss, Yang and Blake, if we can get her." Richard stated, as he slapped the side of his head. "Sorry, almost forgot Weiss counts, despite… her intriguing new look."
"Richard, I'm including Yang in those three fourths." Siege joked with a snicker, looking to Yang and Weiss happily conversing together.
"But to answer your question, I'd say bringing Kaguya for this one is a good idea." Richard answered back. "You might not believe it, but the thoroughness in her work will prove useful, especially considering that even the smallest butterfly can cause quite the cyclone down there. She'll help Yang get Blake on our side. And if we need some hard-muscle, let's put in Mokou, she's more or less on a friendly rivalry with Kaguya, so the two of them will strive harder to do better in each other's presence. That also means you should bring plus one from your team, Siege."
"In that case… let's see how you manage looking up from above by yourself, co-captain. I'll head down with them." Siege responded with a smirk. "While I do have brawn power, I too know the importance of the butterfly effect. And let it be known I was able to get every best ending in Telltale games to date. So I should prove useful down there. Or do you have someone else in mind? Perhaps Makoto for extra brawn? Or Rutega even?"
"Maybe Makoto." Richard stated with a hand on the chin.
"I think I'll agree with you on that one." Siege nodded. "Okay, I'll gather them up, and we'll see if they can earn Blake's trust as well as the main heroes."
A New Enemy Within
Episode 1
The scene opens to Gotham city, as it soon switches to the residence of Bruce Wayne, as well as John Doe and Selina Kyle, the main protectors of Gotham, as Bruce is seen walking into the room with Alfred.
"John, Selina, we've found them." Bruce said as he walked in.
"Ooh, you mean the White Fang? Goodie! Where are we heading?" John asked excitedly.
"Sit back, John, let him explain." Selina said as John looked at her and giggled nervously before sitting back.
"We're heading for a nearby warehouse. They're stealing valuable metals for improving their weapons." Bruce said. "Suit up, we're leaving ASAP."
John and Selina nodded, as they soon got up to get in their hero outfits.
Meanwhile…
Yang, Kaguya, Makoto, and Mokou soon touched down, as they looked around while approaching the warehouse that was being raided by the White Fang, as they cloaked their F-15.
"You sure this is where the White Fang of this world is, Siege?" Yang would ask, before Makoto soon saw White Fang Thugs tossing crates of metals into an armored vehicle.
"Yeah… I'd say this is the place." Makoto said. "Come on! Let's go!" Makoto added, looking at the group.
"Right, we can't let them get away with this theft!" Kaguya said, as they ran to the warehouse together, sneaking into the warehouse to see White Fang Members getting away with the crates of metal, as they also saw two people overlooking it all. A black haired tiger individual wearing black full body armor, Sienna Khan, and next to her, wearing a black jacket over a battle bra, combat shorts with multiple types of weapons on them, and black boots, was Blake Belladonna, and she had some tone to her abs in this universe. She had Gambol Shroud at her side, but also had a pair of gauntlets on her hands, which could turn into claws.
"Damn… she's hot…" Yang said as she looked at Blake.
"Yang, focus!" Makoto whispered. "We gotta deter things somehow! Pick a shot and take it, we'll start the ambush!"
Y - Shoot at Sienna
X - Shoot at White Fang Thugs
B - Shoot at Blake
Yang made her aim for the Thugs. Now comes the choice of firing Rounds.
Y - Explosive Rounds
A - Normal Rounds
Loading Ember Celica with normal rounds, Yang fired at the Thugs, as a few shots grazed the White Fang members, but the racket was enough to ensue a bit of chaos.
"What the hell!? We're being shot at!" Yelled one member.
"Keep calm! We'll deal with them!" Sienna yelled as she procured her whip, spotting the group. "Just get the metals into the transport vehicle!"
"Maybe a little more firepower would have deterred them…" Makoto said, looking at Yang.
"Yeah, I think you're right." Yang said with a sweatdrop, as Sienna and Blake leapt down, charging at the group, as Yang was the first to see them, as both were swinging their weapons towards Yang.
X - Dodge
B - Counter
Yang jumped back just enough where their weapons would only graze her, before she pummeled both Sienna and Blake, before knocking both away, only to find Blake and Sienna were clones, as Yang looked around, before looking up to see Sienna dropping above Kaguya, and Blake dropping down on Makoto.
X - Tackle Kaguya
A - Tackle Makoto
Thinking fast, Yang tackled Kaguya to safety, and luckily, since Mokou had been near Makoto, she was tackled to safety as well, as Blake and Sienna both whiffed, as now everyone had weapons trained on one another.
"Well, we don't see faces like yours around Gotham often. What brings you here?" Sienna asked, looking at Kaguya.
Kaguya POV
Y - "What are you doing stealing precious metals?"
X - "Here to stop criminals like you."
B - "You wouldn't believe us if we told you."
A - Say Nothing
"Humph… you wouldn't believe us if we told you." Kaguya said, which seemed to lessen tensions already.
"...Why do you say that?" Sienna asked. "We'll listen, we will. Trust us, this doesn't look as bad as it does!"
Mokou POV
Y - "What is this supposed to look like then!?"
X - Scoff
B - "Why do you need the metals then?"
A - Say Nothing
"Why do you need the metals then?" Mokou asked.
"...We want to tell you but it's classified… but if you can keep your mouths shut we can say this is for Waller and the Agency." Blake answered.
Yang POV
Y - "The Agency…!? Didn't they pull out of Gotham?"
X - "Hah… Waller at her old tricks again."
B - "The Agency? Who are they?"
A - Say Nothing
"The Agency…!? Didn't they pull out of Gotham?" Yang asked.
Your relationship with Blake has changed. (Positive)
"So you've done your research. Waller was supposed to pull out, yes. But she didn't get what she wanted, with John Doe still here in Gotham. She needed some more backup to try and apprehend him. So that's where we come in. We're collecting resources so that we can help Waller bring John Doe to the justice he deserves." Blake declared, before maniacal laughter filled the room.
"Bring ME in!? You're the ones who need to answer to justice!" A voice cackled before a Batarang and Joker-Rang flew at Blake and Sienna.
Yang POV
Aim and shoot the Batarang
Aim and shoot the Joker-Rang
With precise aim, Yang shot away the Joker-Rang. However, the batarang attached to Blake without impaling her, as she was administered a shock as she yelled in pain, before collapsing.
"Shit, Blake!" Sienna yelled, rushing to her aid before a whip wrapped around her, as Catwoman had her now.
"Don't move now dear~" Catwoman chuckled, as Batman and Joker walked into the area.
"I don't know who you all are, but you have our thanks for holding up the White Fang to catch its representatives. We'll handle things from here." Batman said, as he walked towards Blake.
Heavy Choice incoming. Selecting one side will make the other much harder to befriend.
Let Batman Apprehend Blake - A
Help Blake and Sienna Escape - X
Yang sighed and stepped back, as the others did the same, as Batman soon picked up Blake, as Sienna growled at the group.
"No! Damnit all no!" Sienna yelled in anger before Catwoman knocked her out.
"Quiet, you." Catwoman growled as she did so.
"If you want, you four can come with us. You seemed to have a reason you wanted to stop these two if you were here so quickly." Batman stated to the group, before he walked out with Blake in hand, as Catwoman simply left Sienna for the police to capture.
"Well… let's hope that doesn't end up bad news for us…" Yang said with a sigh.
"What are you talking about?" John asked as he walked to the group of ladies and smiled at them all. "Today, you all have served the side of justice! You all are heroes in your own right! Don't look so glum about this, because you have done a good thing today!"
Sienna will remember this.
Blake will remember this.
Batman will remember this.
Joker will remember this.
Catwoman will remember this.
Kaguya POV
Y - "Uh… thanks."
X - "Thanks, John."
B - "Then why do I have a small feeling of guilt? I mean, they…"
A - Say Nothing
"Uh… thanks." Kaguya responded with a small smile.
"No, thank you!" John said with a smile as he wrapped the group with his arms. "Just think, we could all make a great team together! You, me, Cats, and Bats! Keeping Gotham safe from all evildoers like the Agency!" John said with a smile. "...Surely those girls weren't with the Agency, right? They didn't look like them."
Yang POV
Y - "Well… about that…"
X - "No, they said nothing about the Agency."
B - "The Agency should be pulled out of Gotham, right?"
A - Say Nothing
"The Agency should be pulled out of Gotham, right?" Yang asked.
"They should be. Last I heard anyways." Joker said. "You all have done your research on this place haven't you? So I don't need to explain anything! Anyways, we best not keep Bats waiting. Let's go!" Joker said with a smile, as the group soon went to Wayne Manor.
Once arriving there, they would see Blake locked up in a special cell of Wayne Manor, before seeing Bruce and the others coming to them.
"Well, I suppose now is a better time than ever to get to know one another." Bruce said, walking in with John and Selina. "I'm Bruce Wayne, this is my friend John and my fiancé Selina. And you all are?"
"I'm Yang." Yang introduced with a smile. "My friends here are Makoto, Mokou, and Kaguya."
"So, what brings you to Gotham?" Bruce asked.
Kaguya POV
Y - "We heard rumors the Agency might be back."
X - "We're just passing through, but considering staying a while longer."
B - "We're looking for you, we admire your work."
A - Say Nothing
"We're looking for you, we admire your work." Kaguya said with a smile.
"Oh! A fan, you all are?" John asked. "I'm flattered!"
"The work we do isn't always good though, in the eyes of the public. But if you're supportive of us, you have our thanks." Bruce said. "But what is your ties with the White Fang? You had them stopped long before we got there."
Makoto POV
Y - "...Personal reasons."
X - "We don't like crime as much as you do."
B - "They're better than that, we've been trying to get them to stop."
A - Say Nothing
"They're better than this. We've been trying to stop them." Makoto said.
"Well, you're not wrong." John said, surprising Bruce. "Everyone can be better than they are… but if they're committing crimes they obviously haven't thought about better outcomes. Yet, look at me. I could have ended up much worse than I am now. But Bruce helped me there."
Bruce looked at John with a small smile, before turning back to the group. "So you also believe there's good in all people. We share a common goal then. I suppose then we should ask you the favor. We were going to interrogate the person we caught, who goes by the alias Shadow claw. Since you all are wanting to find the good in people, why don't you interrogate her?"
B - Accept
A - Reject
"We'll do that, sure." Yang said with a smile.
"Perfect. Takes that off our plate. Alfred will show you to where she's held." Bruce said, as Alfred soon walked in.
"Right this way, ladies." Alfred said, as he led them along.
They soon arrived at a make shift cell, where Blake was seen looking rather miserable, sitting in the chair, cuffed, as the group noticed the Agency's collar was now on the table.
"It turns out she was part of the Agency. I hope she turns away from them. Perhaps you all can convince her, madams." Alfred said.
"We'll do our best." Yang said, as Alfred let them in, as Blake looked up at them, with a small glare in her eyes.
"...What do you all want…" Blake growled.

Kaguya stepped forward as Blake glared at the group, a sympathetic look on Kaguya's face.
Y - "We're here to help you."
X - "Our hands were tied back there."
B - "We want to free you from Waller."
A - Say Nothing
"We're here to help you, Blake." Kaguya said.
"If that's true then why did you let Sienna get captured? Waller has us in a life of servitude to her, it's the same for Sienna as it is with my other friends! One wrong move from us and she snuffs us out… like she did to my father when he tried to defy her." Blake said defiantly, her ears drooping some from saying that.
Y - "Waller's a crooked individual."
X - "Waller uses justice to hide her actions."
B - "Things would have been different if we had been there."
A - Say Nothing
"Waller… heh… she calls what she does justice… really she uses that as a mask to hide her actions." Kaguya growled.
"I couldn't agree with you more." Blake said.
Your relationship with Blake has changed. (Positive)
"But you all made a mistake in bringing me here." Blake said as Yang caught John in her peripherals. He apparently was listening in, but Yang simply kept listening to Blake. "Waller will no doubt send her agents back to Gotham. They'll shoot first ask questions later. They'll kill innocent civilians! They'll murder just to free Sienna from the local prison's grasp… and it'll be me they come for next."
Yang POV
Y - "You're safe with us."
X - "You're not the only one who wants Waller to pay."
B - "Waller won't get to you, and we will save your friends."
A - Say Nothing
"You're not the only one who wants Waller to pay." Yang said to Blake, as Blake looked up at her suddenly. "What she's doing to you and your friends is wrong. Forcing you all to servitude? That's not what an enforcer of 'justice' should do. And believe it or not there are people in this Manor other than us who want Waller to pay too." Yang said.
Blake will remember that.
John, as if by cue, walked into the room, a solemn look on his face as he looked at Blake.
"...Waller's… been using you? That's why you're with the Agency?" John asked.
"Contradictory to your belief, yes. She collared us up to force us to work for her. She's got all my friends to a life sentence, if they don't follow her rules to the core. Again, you put yourselves in danger by bringing me here, John Doe." Blake said, looking at him. "Soon, Waller will send her agents storming in here, looking for me."
"...I had no idea. I didn't even see…" John said in remorse, before shaking his head. "I'm sorry. I really am. If you have this much hatred for Waller there's no way you can truly be allied with her."
John adopted a thinking pose, as he was trying to think of what to do.
Special Choice: Now you get to see the mind of John. His sadistic side, the Joker, wants to hunt down Waller and use Blake and Sienna as bait. However, the human side of John, John Doe, is urging to help get Sienna freed from Waller's death trap, and try to use them to save the others. You decide how John approaches this situation.
Y - Free Blake and Sienna
B - Use Blake and Sienna
John soon shook his head away from his thoughts as Joker, as he grabbed a key from his pocket, and undid Blake's cuffs.
"Come on. We're getting your friend out of prison. Let me talk to Bruce and see what he can do." John said to Blake as Blake looked up at John in shock. John turned to leave, as Blake stopped him with two simple words.
"Thank you…"
John stopped in his tracks, giving a human smile and chuckle. "...You're welcome." He added, before he soon left.
Blake is beginning to trust you.
Yang helped Blake to her feet, while Makoto began grabbing Blake's weapons.
"...Oh… we never got to hear your name." Yang said to Blake.
"Oh, sorry… Most refer to me as Shadowclaw… but my real name is Blake Belladonna… you may call me Blake." Blake smiled slightly at Yang.
