Heroic New Era: New Beginnings

Chapter 12: Dragon Fang's Superior Overlords! The Mighty Cavalier Popol and the Scorching Kitsune Heiwa!

The group returned to the Pocket Dimension where they were greeted by their allied demons, as Ruby nodded in affirmation.

"Hm. It seems like Usalia has already shown great improvements from that journey." Ruby mused with a smile.

"Well, a dose of reality does such things. Good thing that Reisen and Weiss were the easiest to break it to her." Kaguya nodded. "And to think that Rutega can sympathise with Majorita… If Majorita really ended up like this because of a shitty childhood… I think that it might be more reasonable to have her as an ally after this is done and dusted… rather than something I prefer not to think about. Instead, I'll be thinking about how Usalia looks like she's grown up in her manners. I feel like a proud guardian…"

"Now wait a second, Kaguya!" Red Magnus yelled in outrage. "You're gonna actually give Majorita mercy!? That's super not right! She's ruined so many lives! How can you even sympathize with her?"

"Oi, oi, there's no need to get that heated." Mokou stated, walking over. "Sure, she screwed a lot of people, but not like we're all much better. From what I hear, some Overlords have done equally crappy things. I mean, she might be a bit cruel and needlessly sadistic, but a shitty life tends to make people malicious. Trust me, I've been down that road before, and it's not a pretty thing to have. Besides, we're only giving her some consideration, not mercy. If she wants to screw with us, then we'll just put her down, lethal or not."

"Actually…" Gus stated, walking over with a discerning look in his eyes. "There's no way that you could be that angry just by Majorita's presence alone. I'm sure that she slighted you as bad as she did to Usalia. What's the reason?"

"I…" Red Magnus started, as he saw the look that the nearby people were giving him, as he sighed deeply. "I'm super angry, because my Netherworld, Scorching Flame was turned into a wasteland. I just took a nap, and when I woke up, everything was SUPER wrecked. I couldn't even find a single one of my underlings. I bet the Lost cronies are responsible for that, and I even think that it was Majorita who did that. That brat is definitely getting super clobbered when I get my hands on her!"

"...Wow." Kaguya remarked with an unamused expression. "...You just… Oh, that's just… utterly humiliating."

"Hah…" Mokou stated, shaking her head with a hand on her forehead. "Can you even find a possible piece of evidence that Majorita wrecked your Netherworld then? Or at least a motive for it?"

"...No?" Red Magnus responded back. "But I'm still super angry at her!"

"Alright, we'll drop that matter then, for the main topic." Mokou stated. "Like I said, we're just simply not going to instantly decide to kill her off, if we do beat her. We might interrogate her, capture her for the rest of the war, or even try to convince her, but that depends on what Zeabolos wants. He's the one calling the shots here."

"Nnnrrrgh…" Red Magnus grumbled under his breath with a scowl.

"I'm sorry but my input on this involves none of those options." Rutega said, folding her arms. "A child, an orphan included, who's already this unstable, shouldn't be interrogated, or captured, and convincing attempts will only result in her breaking down worse."

"Then what is your view, Rutega?" Killia demanded.

"My view is that an orphan like her needs to experience the things she's not been given. Love. Compassion. And yes, mercy." Rutega said. "I know, because as I said, which apparently none of you heard: I was once in a similar condition Majorita is." Rutega added. "...I have a hunch that if Majorita is shown any of these… such things which Void Dark clearly has not shown her… it'll at least make her consider things." Rutega continued. "Hate me if you want, fellow allies, but considering I've experienced what she's going through, I think I know what I'm talking about."

"...I agree." Mokou stated. "You do make a strong point there, no point in fanning the flames further. Let her decide what's right and wrong herself. Perhaps she might actually do some atoning herself, if given the time to come around. Hell, that's how Kaguya and I actually made up with each other… after two millenniums of hating each other."

"...Hm… Rutega really believes Majorita can change… well… considering our new allies haven't steered us wrong yet, I'm gonna side with her gut decision." Ruby said, surprising the other Overlords.

"Wha-!? Rose, you know what Majorita's-" Red Magnus was about to yell.

"Shut it, Magnus!" Ruby yelled. "I know! She's done alleged awful things to you, and she's done awful things to Usalia and so many others! ...But… even so… What's the point of killing an orphan? Like Rutega said… if she dies while in this pain… she's going to endure it for eternity. That's not a fate anyone should endure. Not even her."

"...Wow… I…" Red Magnus tried to find words, but ended up speechless.

"While I'd love to continue this conversation, there's still work to be done, guys." Siege said. "Zeabolos, where is the next Netherworld we're heading to?"

"It seems that Bloodis has wasted little effort since that little spar with Rutega." Zeabolos remarked. "He has invaded Dragon Fang, the Netherworld ruled by the legendary Dragon Overlord. It is said that it has been a long time since he last awakened. So in his place, two Overlords were made. One, a prodigious Kitsune to which the Nine-Tails revere as their best, with fire that burns stronger than the fires of hell, and the other is a Hunter with the power to channel the lightning itself from his spear, and it claimed to be seen as a legendary cavalier warrior."

"So let me guess, our goal is to recruit them as well as keeping Bloodis from destroying Dragon Fang?" Siege asked.

"Indeed. Although the negotiations will not go easy." Zeabolos answered back. "From what I last heard, Dragon Fang is territorial. Those who step within this world are likely to be considered intruders, if they were not approved by any notable resident within the Netherworld. We are likely to be branded as such, inevitable as it seems. Do be careful on how you act with them. I understand if there must be a quarrel or two before we can convince them, but remember that they have to deal with us and the Lost at the same time."

"Ouch… Yeah, that's a problem." Richard stated, sucking air through his teeth.

"Perhaps if I approach them as a noble warrior with a couple others, this will make things considerably easier?" Siege asked.

"...Hopefully, it works." Zeabolos responded back. "Who do you require?"

"Well, a display of power and elemental prowess would be one requirement… Lady Magina if I-" Siege was about to ask.

"No need to ask, I'll gladly join you." Magina stated. "If they need any proof of being aligned to a God or their type of magic, I will display it to perfection."

"To deal with Bloodis, I'll need the help of Rutega since she dealt with him last. But don't go looking for fights, Rutega." Siege said.

"Fair." Rutega nodded.

"To seal the deal I'll need to call in two extra aids in the form of true warriors of Japanese like style to fit the bill. Richard, signal for Raiden and Inuyasha." Siege said, turning to Richard.

"Can do, but let's take plus one. Killia… Would you mind if you come with us?" Richard asked Killia.

"...I do not mind." Killia responded back without any hesitation in his voice.

"...Then that should be fine. As for Inuyasha and Raiden…" Richard stated, as he snapped his fingers, before a sukima appeared, while Inuyasha walked through it, back in his original attire, while Raiden geared himself up with some dark metallic samurai armour to hide his cyborg-frame. "Here we are."

"You rang, Richard?" Raiden quipped.

"We need some help cleaning up a mess. Hope you have a fantasy of slaying actual demons, because this is your ticket." Richard smirked back.

"Nice. Just what I always wanted." Raiden chuckled.

"Alright. I'm ready. Send us in when you're ready, Zeabolos." Siege said.

"Alright, take care over there." Richard stated, as Zeabolos stated, as the portal opened, and the group went through it, before they found themselves in a eastern town, with sakura trees, tiled roofs, and various traditional buildings all over the entire area.

"Hm… Deja vu." Raiden said as he looked around, being reminded of the indoor garden back in his world. "Sakura would have liked to see this."

As he looked around, he suddenly noticed a unknown presence nearby, before he then quickly slashed at it, causing some sort of young white-haired male demon, dressed with a black bandana, jacket, pants and shoes, to tumble out of the slashed space, landing on his bottom.

"...Nice try." Raiden growled.

"Woah, you can't just slash at anyone like that! You could have killed someone!" The demon exclaimed.

"...I remember you." Killia stated. "You were the one who attacked us back at Poisondise, because you thought I was copying someone's skills. Zeroken… was it?"

"Yeah! You want a fight with me? I'll take you on any day!" Zeroken growled, adopting a battle posture.

"...We have more important things than to pick a fight with you." Killia responded back dryly.

"Hmph… Fine. I came here for a different reason, ignoring your plagiarism of skills… Stay away from Demon General Bloodis, that's a warning you should take note of. I can easily tell you're all after him." Zeroken told them.

"Why should I when I've come close to beating him once before?" Rutega asked Zeroken.

"You… what?" Zeroken remarked, as he was surprised. "No, that can't be right, he can't be beaten so easily… Unless… Argh... If you really claim that you can handle him… then I won't push it. I'm after him as well, so let's just join forces, okay?"

"Fair enough. The more the merrier." Siege mused.

"Heh, welcome aboard. I won't slash at you anymore." Raiden joked.

"Or me for that matter." Inuyasha snickered.

"Don't get comfy with me, I'm just helping you all out temporarily, because we have the same goal." Zeroken answered back, crossing his arms.

Before the group could say anything further, there was a rush of flames, as something stepped out of it, being a fox-girl with flowing white hair, grey eyes, and dressed in a large silver kimono seemed to be enchanted with fortification magic, from the silver aura it was emitting, with a triplet of silver fox-tails flowing behind her, and a human-sized brush in one of her hand.

Another person soon appeared before them, jumping from a distance away and landing on the rooftop's other side with a resounding thud. He was a white haired individual with sharp blue eyes, as he wore what appeared to be an animal pelt jacket, that of an ox due to the horns atop his head, as he also wore black baggy pants and brown boots, as he soon leapt down to the kitsune's side, and soon enough, a blue colored dire Wolf leapt to his side, as the man slammed down a crystal spear, as lightning struck the spear and the area around him.

"Intruders! Feel honored! You have been graced by the presence of the Mighty Overlords of Dragon Fang! I am the Mighty Wolf Cavalier of Thunder, Popol! My beloved will grace you with her introduction." The male introduced in a noble and bold tone.

"I am the Natural Kitsune Arbiter of Dragon Fang, Heiwa." The female Overlord answered back with a majestic tone, which had hints of strictiness in it. "...Why are you here?"

"Overlords of Dragon Fang, I apologize for our intrusion." Siege politely spoke. "I am a servant of Great Overlord Zeabolos and his army, Siege. With me are others who serve in his army. We have come on the count of Lost General Bloodis staging an attack on Dragon Fang, and we are humbly offering you our aid in repelling and defeating their forces."

"Oh?" Heiwa asked back, her expression not shifting the slightest. "So you do know of the Lost attack happening here. And Great Overlord Zeabolos? Hmph… So this is how it is then. We've already wasted enough time here, trying to cater to you. I will make this clear for you: Leave."

"Leave?" Killia asked back. "We are not-"

"It does not matter if you are Lost spies, or the charges of another army. All who step inside our Netherworld are to be captured, and held on trial, serious cases are to be executed with no exceptions." Heiwa stated with a glare in her eyes. "Consider it generosity that we are merely turning you away, because we have no effort to spare in trying to subdue you while our Netherworld is under invasion."

"Now what if I told you that my power is derived from the very deities you worship?" Magina soon quipped, causing Popol to get on the defensive.

"Ha! As if! You would need to boast the power of the Great Drumdawn to convince us of this! If you could, perhaps no trial would come upon your army." Popol laughed.

Suddenly, Magina smirked as she displayed an incredible feat. She made multiple elemental dragons appear at her sides without even such a flick of a finger, causing both Overlords to leap back.

"...My… my eyes! Do they deceive me or do you see it too!?" Popol asked his beloved Heiwa.

Heiwa was silent, although her strained expression told her that even if she won't verbally admit it, she showed that the display was indeed genuine in her eyes.

"Hm. Is there much else convincing you need to avoid our trial and allow us to aid you?" Magina asked.

"Yes… There is." Heiwa stated, as she lifted her brush. "...Tell me… how are you able to do this. You summoned the elemental dragons that serve as the heralds of the deities here. That is something that very few can do, even in this Netherworld. So I ask you, who are you, to manage such a feat."

"...A close friend of Drumdawn himself." Magina stated with a firm tone.

"What… What did you say?" Heiwa remarked, as her eyes narrowed.

"You do not remember for you were not appointed as Overlords when I was last here. But I have been here once before. I have personally befriended many infamous Overlords, Zeabolos, as well as your great Overlord Drumdawn. He even granted me the test I just gave to you. If there was a doubt of intrusion, if I summon the heralds of this Netherworld, then you should know that myself and those with me are allies, and will avoid trial by Drumdawn's own words." Magina explained. "So, Overlords of Dragon Fang. Would you dare defy Drumdawn and force us to leave?"

Heiwa was torn and conflicted, from the shaking in her hands, and her expression.

"But that's… That's…" Heiwa remarked, before she then smashed the brush-tip on the roof, shaking it slightly, as she took a few heavy breaths, as she calmed down. "...Are you Magina then?"

"My, such a clever girl. I am indeed Lady Magina, the Great Elder Magician." Magina said, as Popol's eyes widened.

"G-G-G-Great Elder Magician! Magina!" Popol yelled in shock. "Drumdawn spoke only praise of you! Please, I apologize to you greatly! I am but a lowly hunter in your presence!"

Heiwa was silent, as she let her eyes trail down on the ground. "Izuna…" She muttered under her breath.

With a flash of purple light, a seven-tailed kitsune appeared, as she was clad in a red kimono, levitating on her middle tail, and almost nude under her kimono, and had blue eyes, purple hair and purple fur.

"You called, Overlord Heiwa?" Izuna remarked.

"...Watch over this group. I… I need time to ponder." Heiwa remarked, as she turned to leave, as she disappeared in a flash of flames.

"Beloved! Oh…" Popol sighed, as he turned to the group. "...Do forgive her, she is having a hard time right now. Do excuse us. But please, if you are allies, help us and rid us of General Bloodis' forces!" Popol declared, before disappearing with his wolf in a flash of lightning.

"Hm… I was afraid of such a thing. That girl seemed very prideful in her job…" Magina said. "Well, Lady Izuna, do lead us to the Lost Forces and Bloodis if possible. We'll help you get rid of those forces."

"...I understand. I apologise for the behaviour of the Mistress. She… She is in a time of turmoil, considering Drumdawn's state." Izuna remarked. "It's less that her pride is wounded. She cares little about it… but it's because she believes that she's betrayed herself in doing so, conceptually."

"...Care to explain?" Raiden asked.

"...You are wondering why Drumdawn has not greeted you, despite noticing your presence, Great Elder Magician." Izuna stated, turning to Magina. "Had it been for any other case, he would have disregarding his own wounds to greet you. It is a meeting that only happens once a blessed moon, even less in chances."

"Then you are saying that…" Killia deduced.

"Alas, Drumdawn is so gravely wounded ever since a century ago." Izuna remarked, with a solemn tone. "With his last words before his slumber, he called the Overlords, his successors, to ensure that Dragon Fang does not break. With the fame of the legendary Dragon Overlord, comes envy, wrath and hatred from others. We had to implement these means, to ensure that no threats would remain long enough to threaten him, or the Netherworld he cared for. Heiwa, being his successor, takes this duty seriously. She cares for him like a second father, much like Drumdawn is my own."

"Drumdawn…" Magina said in concern. "...I must tend to him, I understand that by my leave, there is the risk of trust, but you, Lady Izuna, should be able to allow my allies to fight alongside you. I have a belief that through my godly amounts of magic, I can restore him, at least that is my hope… In any case I must go to see if I can help my close friend… Siege, are you-"

"I can handle leading the others." Siege said. "You go and tend to your friend."

Magina nodded with a small smile before teleporting away.

"We have no time to waste, Lady Izuna." Siege said. "Please, lead us to the battle at hand!"

"As you wish, normally, my barriers would have hindered your advance.. But I can allow you entry past them." Izuna stated. "...Just ensure that Overlord Heiwa and Popol survive, they are the hope of a new generation for this Netherworld."

"We will defeat the Lost, that is a vow." Killia answered back.

"And Bloodis as well." Rutega added.

With that said, the group advanced forth to where Popol was fighting a front of Lost soldiers alongside other cavalier fighters. "Forward, men and women! No quarter for the Lost! They will all fall to the might of Dragon Fang!"

"Overlord Popol! They are overwhelming us slowly!" A female warrior yelled. "The more we take out, multiple more take their place! GYAAAGH!" The female warrior yelled as she was slain by an imp.

"Tch! This is disgraceful…!" Popol growled.

"Then allow us to reverse the disgrace!" Yelled Inuyasha, as Wind Scar cleaved through a large portion of the Lost.

"Eh? Oh! You have arrived!" Popol exclaimed, turning to Inuyasha, Raiden, and Killia. "Oh, but your numbers are less!"

"A part of us split off to fight alongside Overlord Heiwa. As for Magina, she has personally gone to Drumdawn. She intends to make his condition significantly better." Raiden said.

"Ah, so Lady Izuna told you, and dropped her barriers." Popol said. "In any case, I will gladly accept your help. My beloved may not be as accepting… but perhaps she will come around soon when she hears of what Magina is doing. Now that we have you here, let us join forces and obliterate the Lost!"

"No need to tell me twice. It's time for Jack to LET ER RIP!" Raiden cackled.

With the combined force, and the newfound morale due to it, the Lost forces on Popol's front began dwindling quickly. Meanwhile, multiple kitsune warriors were fighting alongside Heiwa, as their numbers were now dwindling.

"Overlord Heiwa, our numbers are plummeting! The Lost are- UWA- aaaah…" A female kitsune began to say before being slain.

"Curse you….!" Heiwa remarked, as she fired a stream of fire at the offender, a gun-slinger, immolating them, as she fell down, as she was wounded, unlike Popol, who was still fairly unscathed from the fighting. "...The numbers are many, and my soldiers are dwindling… But I will not bend or break… I will force these intruders out, even if I have to squeeze every last drop of magic and stamina within me!"

"That's right, die! Wipe them all out, and teach them the price of being disobedient!" The Lost comamnder, a headless knight, declared.

"EAT THIS! IMMACULATE RAGNAROK!" Siege yelled, as multiple light beams tore into Lost soldiers, stealing their life force and granting life back to fallen kitsune warriors.

"...Wha…? I have been resurrected…?" The female kitsune who fell in battle, asked as she sat up.

"What is this sorcery…" Heiwa remarked, as her dead were rising, before she then turned her attention to the group, which was Siege, Rutega and Zeroken. "...Wait… Where is the Great Elder Magician? She was with you, unless…!"

"Woah, hey, calm down!" Zeroken quickly stated. "She went away to help Drumdawn get back up!"

"What… WHAT…!?" Heiwa remarked, as she then looked towards her forces, then back at the group, and then at the Lost remnants trying to retreat. "...Urgh, heavens be cursed… If you are genuine in your words, then remain here and help my people kill the Lost. I will see if the Great Elder Magician is doing as you say or not."

She then disappeared, as Izuna appeared before the group.

"It seems that your aid has helped both of the Overlords... While the Mistress heads towards the shrine where Drumdawn rests, I will take command of her forces, and join up with her beloved." Izuna remarked. "You said that you are here to fight the Demon General leading the army here. And on behalf of my mistress, who will deliver this a little late… thank you for your aid, you are the first people who we can actually trust."

"You're welcome. I'll go ahead and find Bloodis." Rutega said, flying off quickly.

"In the meantime Zeroken and I will help you, Izuna. Let's finish them off!" Siege said.

"I understand. All of you, defend Dragon Fang! The people that are behind my protections are counting on our success!" Izuna stated. "For the glory of Drumdawn and the deities! Fight the intruders until the last enemy perishes!"

The Dragon Fang forces immediately rallied, as one of the squad leaders of the Lost were terrified by the development.

"No way, Zeabolos' Army and Dragon Fang have teamed up, and so quickly…! We need to get General Bloodis to deal with this-" He was saying, before Izuna froze him solid with ice magic, as Rutega shattered him.

Meanwhile, in Drumdawn's shrine…

Heiwa immediately burst the doors of the shrine open, as she saw that Magina was in front of Drumdawn's resting body, which was gigantic enough to fill the back half of the shrine, as green magic was emanating from her hands, flowing into the countless wounds that scarred the large two-headed dragon's body, all of varying sizes and depth.

"...You… Why did you come here without my-" Heiwa stated.

"Because it is my responsibility to care for my old friend." Magina responded back firmly. "...I think I understand why you were so cautious, why you refused to simply accept that we weren't a threat… Drumdawn… He was betrayed, wasn't he?"

Heiwa fell silent, letting her brush clatter to the ground, with raw emotion on her face.

"...Even if you were his friend… Why… Why did you not come earlier… Why were you not there to stop the one who did this to him…" Heiwa muttered. "If we never trusted that bastard, then Drumdawn wouldn't have…!"

"Because I didn't know, okay!" Magina yelled. "Also because being a Great Elder Magician, I'm not just able to be in multiple places at once! I have disciples of my own to look after, worlds which need to be kept from blowing up, catastrophes to avert, paperwork, press conferences, it all piles up more than you think!" Magina yelled at Heiwa, finally snapping. "...I may be a Great Elder Magician but I am not all knowing, just as I am not versatile enough to deal with multiple problems at once."

"...You're right…" Heiwa stated, before she then bitterly chuckled. "...Drumdawn scolded me with the same meaning, he told me that the responsibilities of an Overlord should not be lightly taken, and your role was even more strenuous with burdens. I sabotaged myself out of paranoia and self-righteous. I should have known that there was only one bad apple out of the bunch."

"...Tell me what happened. Please." Magina stated, calming down to a gentle voice.

"It happened so suddenly, we invited that bastard of an Overlord. He was a old friend of Drumdawn, they were actually friends in their child-hood… and they slowly became friendly rivals. I thought that it would have been a sweet meeting." Heiwa remarked, before she then clenched her fists. "And then… then that scaly bastard plunged a claw into Drumdawn's chest. Of course, doing that in front of us… is a death sentence. By the time he even turned… he was turned to ASHES with wrath-fuelled hell-fire and lightning. But the damage was done. Drumdawn was left wounded critically, enough to fall into hibernation to try and heal his wounds. I bet that lizard knew Drumdawn just finished fighting a decisive battle with the human heroes of another world… so he took advantage of that. So I couldn't trust anyone, and Drumdawn's words reinforced that. Even if you were his close friend… I couldn't just let you go, because I don't want a second time to happen, and finally kill Drumdawn, and take our one hope. But now I know that I have gone too far. When this all ends, I will accept any punishment for penance for this display of mistrust."

"...No punishment is needed to give to you." Magina said. "The mistrust is understandable… Because I know how that feels like… an old Magician I tutored… Fralto was his name. Very gifted student… bright one too. He knew every spell of every incantation and every element known to be cast… he was my most trusted disciple… and then… one day he took things too far… he began creating his own army of Duel Monsters… and nearly destroyed my organization I made, the Origin Intergalactic Militia, O.I.M. for short… luckily we were able to stop him and banish him from our presence… but… I too fell into a long slumber from my wounds… it pains me that something so similar occurred here."

Magina soon looked to Heiwa. "So I deem no punishment to you, Overlord Heiwa. For I understand where you come from. I make my vow to you: Even if I have to send my own disciples here, never again will something like this fall to Drumdawn. You have my word." Magina said, before turning back to Drumdawn. "As for Drumdawn… I do believe I'm close to restoring him to where he may awaken from his slumber."

Heiwa merely responded by kneeling before Magina, before Drumdawn slowly stirred awake, as his body began to shift slightly, and his yellow eyes slowly opened.

"...My wounds… they feel as if they are nothing." Drumdawn boomed in a gruff and deep male voice. "I recognised the magic that has brought me back to the realm of the living once again… Great Elder Magician Magina, it seems that this meeting was to be fated then… if only that it was not under these conditions, to see me laid low like this."

"...Drumdawn… I apologize I was not here to protect you from such treachery that brought you to such a low state… my friend… I…" Magina said, before her character shattered as she hugged Drumdawn in tears. "...I hoped nothing like what happened to me would fall on others… it hurts and tears my heart to see my hopes dashed on the rocks of cruelty… I loathe myself even… that I was simply too occupied not to notice this…"

"Do not be in such sorrow. Even those with insurmountable power are destined to suffer a few defeats. Through that, I am reminded that I am not invincible, because of my strength." Drumdawn responded back, with a solemn tone. "What concerns me is that Dragon Fang is in such danger, while I have been in slumber. Overlord Heiwa…"

"Forgive me, Drumdawn… Popol and I tried our best to defend our land, but the number of the Lost were too great. They resorted to countless dishonourable means to slay our men and women." Heiwa remarked, her head bowed deep. "I understand that this is a selfish request of me, but please, for the sake of our people, for the sake of your daughter, please appear before our people, reignite their resolve with your arrival!"

"...I never thought that you would be bold enough to beg so shamelessly of something like this… when I have intended to do more." Drumdawn remarked, before letting out a low amused chuckle. "You truly have not changed much since you were anointed, and I consider that a boon. Your companions must be awaiting you also, Magina. Shall we leave and show these intruders the folly of attacking a Netherworld guarded by two legends?"

"Indeed. In fact, I'll even give them a true taste of not just the legend who is a friend to you, but the disciples that I will appoint to dwell in this Netherworld, to halt all treachery coming from within." Magina said, before turning and activating a summoning circle. "Dark Magician, Ragnar. Dark Magician Girl, Tessa. I summon you from your original posts with new goals!"

A red-clad Dark Magician and blue-clad Dark Magician Girl appeared, with the Dark Magician Girl having black hair.

"You called for us, O Great Master?" Ragnar spoke in a gruff tone.

"What is it you require?" Tessa asked.

"After we finish this current battle, you two are to remain here in Dragon Fang. See to it that no more traitors who guise themselves as friends make it even close to Drumdawn, or any of this Netherworld's people. You are to serve as my vanguard I have placed in this Netherworld. Understood?" Magina asked.

"As you wish." Ragnar stated with a bow of his head, as Tessa did the same.

"Good. Now, we must go! The Lost forces must be completely wiped out!" Magina yelled as they prepared to go out of the shrine.

Meanwhile…

"HIYA!" Rutega yelled as she clashed with Bloodis in Super Saiyan Blue, as they were currently in a war of fists. "Give it up! You're clearly not as strong as I am!"

"If you have the time to claim your superiority over me, then you should put that effort into defeating me then." Bloodis calmly stated, as he endured a few blows, using his guard. "I admit your strength is powerful indeed, but strength is not enough against me."

As the fight continued, Zeroken was watching the fight with a shocked expression. "She was right all along… No one… No one but her…" He blabbered with wide-eyes.

"Hmph. Why would I put effort into defeating you? Killing someone isn't always the best option, you know!" Rutega growled. "Granted, there's a lot of people who would disagree with me on that. Heh, maybe I've gone soft, but they fail to understand the potential benefits of sparing their enemies! It's the same case with Majorita! The poor kid's living a life of hell right now!" Rutega added.

"A noble mindset. I would chastise you for that, since it is merely self-defeating, but I have no reason to challenge that, since you hold the advantage. However, your intentions matter little. Even if you intend to spare me, I will not hold back my killing intent. You are a threat to the Lost Army, and are to be dealt with as such." Bloodis responded back.

Rutega merely clicked her tongue, before she then decided to speed up her attack, as she went for a flurry of blows that battered Bloodis's guard, before one of them slipped through it… and struck him right in the centre of his chest.

As if he was struck with a mortal blow, Bloodis collapsed on the ground, with a mighty bellow of agony, as Zeroken was shocked by the blow itself.

Rutega was as well, as she saw the wounded state Bloodis appeared to be in. "Yikes! Wh… What the… I didn't even…!" Rutega said in disbelief, as she shook her head. "Don't tell me you're backing down now! I thought you were gonna be able to hold up longer than this!"

Killia noticed something about what Rutega did before. "His ribs… are his weak-point… Could it…" He muttered to himself with a pondering expression.

"...Urgh." Bloodis growled, before he slowly pushed himself back up. "A lucky blow… I do not intend to let that defeat me."

"Heh, good, I was getti-" Rutega was about to say, before suddenly rumbling came from the shrine of Drumdawn. "Hm…?"

Just after Rutega finished those words, magical carnage rained down onto the remnants of the Lost scattered through the Netherworld, wiping them all out, as Drumdawn's massive figure shadowed both combatants of the duel.

"Now THAT'S one big dragon!" Rutega mused as she saw the figure of Drumdawn, as Popol soon saw Heiwa returning to the group with Magina, Ragnar, and Tessa.

"My beloved!" Popol exclaimed, as he ran to her. "Lord Drumdawn was being healed by Magina this entire time? Heh, I had no doubts that was what she was doing! ...But… what of your state of mind, my love? Is it better?" Popol asked in concern of Heiwa.

"I have been humbled by the Great Elder Magician." Heiwa admitted. "But it is for the better. I'm very much fine, my heart is no longer in turmoil."

"Ngh, the Dragon Overlord Drumdawn…" Bloodis growled.

"...So you are the one who led the invasion here." Drumdawn stated, his two heads glaring down on Bloodis. "You are powerful indeed, to have managed to progress this invasion far, but your hopes of invading Dragon Fang end here. Yield. That is my command."

"...I will not-" Bloodis was about to say.

"You have been dealt a crippling blow, and yet you try to put up a facade?" Drumdawn interrupted. "I would personally crush you for your arrogance, but I am not interested in causing more bloodshed in my home. Leave, and I will spare you. Resist, and your death is certain. Tell whoever sent you, that if your men return… I will show them, and your master what true terror is."

"...Warriors of Dragon Fang, and of Zeabolos' army. I will not forget this easily." Bloodis remarked, before he then teleported out of the Netherworld.

The group soon gathered together as Popol and Heiwa shared a joyous and loving embrace and kiss for the victory, before the group got together.

"Well, I do suppose this wraps things up here." Siege said.

"...Well there he goes and jinxes it." Raiden said.

"Hm? What do you mean?" Siege asked.

"Any time one of us has said that, something else, usually from our end of matters, comes up." Raiden said.

"Hmhmhmhm… and it's coming up yet again." A devious male voice chuckled as Magina paled upon hearing it.

"...That voice…" Magina paled, as the group turned to see a figure walking out of the shadows, dressed in a black, purple, and red robe as it flowed around him in immense power. Atop his head was a Dark Magician hat, and his hair was a sickly yellow-green color. His eyes were even more wicked, a sickening amber color, as he smirked widely.

"...Fralto…!" Magina said.
