Thor pinched the bridge of his nose between his fingers as he bent over the paperwork for the day. There seemed to be even more then normal in today's stack of responsibilities. As he slit the first envelope open, slim fingers gripped his shoulders and a silky voice murmured in his ear, "Thought anymore about my request, brother?" Thor didn't miss a beat. Ever since they had returned to Earth and had approached the powers that be to give them Norway to live as New Asgard, Loki had been vital to all negotiations and problem solving among the peoples as they began to settle. It had hardly been six months since they had began building their new home and already Loki was looking for a way out. Thor wasn't having it. "My answer remains unchanged." The thunder god rumbled as he began reading the first page of the lengthy letter he had unfolded. Loki hummed and let go of Thor's shoulders and walked to the side of the desk, leaning his elbows on the edge of it and staring at Thor searchingly. "All work and no play makes a dull boy." The young god said as Thor continued reading. "And I am bored. You don't want me trapped on Earth and bored." Loki let his statement dangle as Thor read. He knew as well as his brother did that he couldn't keep him here by his side forever. Loki had to spread his wings, and if Thor wouldn't let him leave Earth, well, then he would just have to cause mischief right here. And Thor wouldn't like that. And Thor knew that.

Before they had landed on Earth, Thor had called Loki into his bedroom one day, which was rare unless the younger god was in trouble and Thor planned to discipline him. Normally, if Loki was needed for any other reason, Thor just waited on Loki to show up, as he often did throughout the day, to pester his older brother out of boredom. When Loki heard the summons, he had leapt to his feet and straightened his collar nervously. He didn't think he had done anything that annoying yet today and he wondered if he was finally pushing Thor past his patience level. He considered pretending to have not gotten the message, but he knew that wouldn't fool Thor for long, and he knew from experience that making the short tempered god wait wasn't his finest move. Dragging his feet, Loki approached the door to Thor's room and knocked, hoping to appease his brother with good manners.

"You may enter." Thor's deep voice rumbled from inside. Loki judged his tone before opening the door with a great big grin. Thor didn't sound angry, but he did sound tired. "Brother!" Loki clasped his hands in front of himself and gave a short bow. "What is the occasion that you request my presence?" He carefully remained by the door in case he needed to make a quick run for it. Thor chuckled. "You are not in trouble for once, Loki." He tried to ease his little brother's nerves. "I merely wanted to ask a favor of you."

Loki was all ears now, and he came further into the room, not fully trusting but intrigued. Thor turned his swivel chair around to face Loki and spoke. "Loki, look, I cannot do this whole king thing without you. I need you by my side. Can you promise me that you will stay for once and help me?" Thor was pleading, and Loki was overjoyed. All he had ever wanted was to be by his brothers side. "Absolutely brother." He had said easily, then held out his pinky. "Pinky promise." Thor had looked confused, but had pinky promised with him. And now Loki, in Thor's mind, was backing out of his promise.

"You can't keep me here forever brother." Loki was standing once more, and walking to the other side of Thor. "I have been causing mischief here on Earth, as you shall soon see. I will only bring more and more chaos if you do not let me go, just for a day." He blinked at Thor with his big eyes. "I promise i shall return in 24 Earth hours." He held out his pinky. "Pinky promise." Thor rolled his eyes as he eyed the stack of papers. He now had a good idea why there were so many now. Likely Loki had upset several governments and now Thor was going to have to pacify them. "Fine." He huffed, and leaned backwards to link his pinky wit Loki's. "You may go." Barely had those words left his lips then Loki was hugging him tightly about the neck. Before Thor could react he had vanished into thin air. Thor chuckled and resumed his work. He'd just have June fill in for Loki while he was gone.

A month later an enraged Thor paced his office, angry at himself for letting Loki go and for trusting him, and at Loki for breaking his promise. June tried to calm the god of thunder, but to no avail. Thor had busted holes in his walls from punching them as he roared in anger. "We have everything under control." June tried to assure him. "You just go find your brother."

"When i find him, he's going to regret running from me." Thor growled, and stormed out to start his search for his little brother.
