I'm a full time mother with a full time day job, and former salary editor who still occasionally takes independent contracts for side work. I've worked in a number of fields over the years, especially those relating to the arts, and have a number of venues that I'm involved in to keep busy and refine my skills. I'm an avid, incurable bibliophile who is currently working on building a fantasy world from the ground up for a book series that I hope to release as a complete work.

In short, I'm a very, very busy woman. And I was sucked into the world of fanfictions by my younger sisters back in 2014. I cringe at a lot of what is written, and love when I find rare gems in various fandoms. My favorites are the humorous ones, particularly the ones that tear down bad fanfic tropes, (I'm horrible, I realize that,) or tell extended adventures for the canon characters. I'm writing three fanfics right now, each for their own reasons, but mostly as a creative writing exercise to weave a story within a story that already has parameters set by their original architects.

One of my passions is Greek Mythology; I have taught different level courses on it and can rightfully claim to be an expert in the subject. As such, readers will quickly notice that influence in my fanfics. Opposing Forces has an intentional Hades/Persephone influence, the Dragonlance fics have Kronos/Gaia vibes, and Xena is quite obviously centered on Greek myths.

I will also give a general, sweeping disclaimer here that my works cover a wide array of subjects, some of which are sensitive to some readers. I never include sensitive topics without a great deal of forethought; there has to be critical reasons to the plot to include them. I try to keep from depicting most of those topics in graphic detail, off screen implications tend to serve just fine, and the consequences of those topics bear significant weight to the characters and plots. The Hellsing fic does sometimes call for graphic onscreen violence and torture because of the canon involved; which is my least favorite aspect of writing that fic, but necessary and I do enjoy writing everything else.

Lastly, as a writer, my job is to try to provide a realistic, engrossing story with a wide cast of unique, complex characters- both protagonists and antagonists or villains. As such, I take into consideration the full backgrounds of both canon characters and original, and their perspectives, actions, and vocabulary frequently differ from my own personal views and language expressed; especially the canon characters who weren't my creation and I'm under obligation to write with respect for their creator's parameters to not bastardize them. Most readers have understood that and given me the benefit of the doubt because of the canons being worked with. A few, usually American, readers have raised occasional concerns with terms used by characters, or read a bit too far into the isolated language a character expressed. I'm not going to constantly justify incidents to every reader who has a concern. Instead, I ask readers to employ critical thinking, and factor in that most characters in these stories come from different countries, different worlds, or are not even human. Their logic and vocabulary isn't going to necessarily reflect yours or mine, especially not an American human's. So please, don't make assumptions about my views for writing realistic characters, especially when it comes to the canon ones with previously defined personalities and backgrounds.
