After their classes and assignments over the past week, it was finally Friday, the day the Titans were supposed to go to Texas. They all had the same last class for the day, that class where the decision was made, 'Moral Value with Mr. Clark Kent.'

'...and that is how people change people. Though this was just a fictional story, you all will also discover this secret of life at least once in real life... So now, with this, I end my classes.' Mr. Kent said, closing the textbook. 'Remember, the school will be closed this Saturday, that is tomorrow, and prom is on Wednesday... Thank you, students.'

He sat on his chair to watch a swamp of students race towards the door. 'A word please, Titans.' He said to the five. Their catchy name was popular among the teachers and students in the school, so when regarding the five students together, the word, 'Titans' is commonly used.

After the class left, Dick, Kory, Vic, Gar, and Raven went forward towards the teacher's table.

'So... Mr. Stone, Mr. Grayson, Ms. Roth, Mr. Logan, and Ms. Anders,' Clark started, nodded at each one of them while mentioning their names, 'I believe today is the day you all will be traveling to Texas for Garfield's rodeo event?'

They all nodded eagerly, while all Gar could do was gulp nervously while the mentioning of the rodeo event.

'I believe Bruce has already made arrangements for you?' Mr. Kent asked.

'Yes sir. Father has even arranged Alfred to stay with us in the Wayne manor located in Texas, thankfully close to the city attractions.' Dick answered proudly- because having a millionaire step-dad sure was helpful sometimes.

'Good, good... Now I want you all to give your best on this trip.' Mr. Kent said, smiling at them encouragingly, 'I know this is not a school trip, nor am I associated with it, but I just want you all to be at your best and most importantly look out for each other.'

The five friends smiled at each other and nodded.

'You know you want to say it, Richard,' Raven said, smirking at her literally brother. 'Go ahead, we won't judge you...'

'Thanks, Rae,' Dick said with a relieved smile. And then he looked around at his friends,

'TITANS GO!'

5:37 pm

'What was I thinking! I can't do this! I'm way too young to die!'

The Titans were currently at the airport, waiting for their flight to start boarding. The girls were checking out organic beauty stuff at the stalls, correction, Kory was checking out products, all Raven could do was read the labels and then stick out her tongue and say, "Why would you ever wanna put animal poop on your face!"

Dick was currently checking on Alfred to see if everything was going on according to their plans. Victor was gazing at the high-tech electronic stuff with awe, and Gar was standing beside him, giving himself, and annoying Vic, with the pep-talk of his life.

'What if something happens!? What if I die.. or worse... What if I really humiliate myself and then live through it to feel the shame!'

'Oh! C'mon Grass Stain!' Victor said, putting his arm around his best friend. 'Think of all the pros! We're going to Texas.. I'll maybe meet Karen, oh, Bee... And who knows! Maybe you'll get to spend a little quality time with Rae!' He said, wriggling his eyebrows. To this, Gar gave a soft chuckle and playfully punched him, 'Whatever.'

Though being an open-book, Gar had some secrets of his own...

Some really deep, which no one except him knew... some, which he knows will get him into trouble. He shared most of his light-hearted secrets with Raven, in some of their more serious meetings, but one secret, only Vic knew... and though most of the times Vic would make fun of Gar, Victor knows that that's a bit of sensitive information...

The truth was, Gar liked Raven. More that he liked anyone really, but he had no idea how to tell her. It was kind of great to pretend that they were just friends, teasing and goading and pulling each other's legs. At least that way his heart would stay intact. And, his relationship which he had with Raven now, of trust and friendship, is the one he cherished most. And besides, Raven being so beautiful and intelligent would probably have no interest in a guy like him and would have thousands of other smart and good-looking dudes lining up in front of her.

*The passengers of flight Jump City Airways, JC-9983 may please come in line for boarding.*

Lost in thought, Gar just humourlessly chuckled to himself a joined his friends in the line.

As the Titans entered the flight, Dick leading them, Kory beside him, Vic, Gar, and Raven slowly trailing behind them, Gar was hit with something that was long forgotten in the excitement of the rodeo.

Garfield Mark Logan was afraid of flights.

Not afraid of the height or the turbulence fright... He was afraid of traveling on the airplane because of a rather traumatic event.

Raven was slowly trailing behind her friends. After looking at some rather gross and disgusting beauty products presented by Kory, she excused herself and found a quiet spot. She had her iconic black and purple headphones with her, so she decided on listening to music. After everyone made the line for boarding the flight, she trailed behind, as she was in no hurry to get on the flight.

As she entered the plane through the labyrinth, she saw all her friends had already taken places. She saw Dick and Kory sitting together. Victor was chatting with a blonde girl, probably flirting with her, and then she saw a rather nervous Gar sitting all alone at the end, beside an empty seat near the window.

She made her way all through the back and stopped in front of Gar, whose eyes were closed. Though they would always tease each other, Raven always respected Gar for his admirable qualities and always thought of him as her Best Friend.

'Is this seat taken?'

She also noticed Gar was uncomfortable sweating and bouncing his legs. As she asked him, she saw his green eyes shot open with an awkward smile. He looked around nervously and hesitantly answered. 'Y-yeah, I mean N-no! I m-mean.. yo-u can sit here.'

She smiled suspiciously yet kindly at him as he scooted his legs so that she could sit on the window seat. After sitting, she saw that he had visibly tensed, but shrugged it off. She put back on her headset and started playing 'Stonger' by Dove Cameron and China Anne McClain and closed her eyes.

After a few moments, she could hear the pilot's words through the music, probably getting ready for take-off.

As she opened her eyes, she saw Gar's face, and it was looking as if he was standing in front of an on-coming meteor.

Probably afraid of flights, she thought.

She thought of a remark to throw at him, but looking at his vulnerable face, something in her mind stopped her. Huh, I never noticed, he has grown more handsome since middle school. His sharp jaw, beautiful eyes, soft li- She slowly removed her headphones and let them rest on her neck. She slowly let her hand touch his.

'Everything okay, Gar?'

Gar, shot open his eyes in an instant and smiled nervously at her. 'Yeah-h, every t-thing's f-fine.. why wouldn't they b-be?'

'Are you afraid of flights, Gar?' She asked kindly, surprised at how softly the words had come out of her mouth.

'N-noo.. well..' He began nervously, 'Is it that obvious?' He finally asked with a sheepish smile.

'Oh, well... I don't know,' Raven said, relieved that he had lightened the mood, as she was starting to feel some strong emotions, sitting this close to him.

'Apart from the excessive sweating, the leg bouncing, the shutting your eyes tightly as if they'll pop out... hmm, I don't know how I guessed.' She said with a slight tease in her voice, which earned her a smile from him.

But then as she saw that he still looked really nervous, her voice grew serious, 'Really Gar, is it something serious though?' She asked, giving his hand a little squeeze as she realized she was still holding them.

She saw the tips of his ears and cheeks slightly turn pink for a moment, but he shrugged it off. 'I'll rather not talk about it...' He reluctantly said.

Raven hesitantly nodded. 'Okay..' She then looked him straight in the eyes and said, 'But always remember, you can always come to me with anything.'

'And you won't judge me?' Gar said in a light-hearted way.

'C'mon,' She began, ' I did not judge Dick for shouting "Titans Go!" in school and then rushing off to the washroom...' They both shared a hearty laugh, 'Then, why will I possibly judge my best friend.' She said with soft eyes.

'Thanks, It's good to know that someone's out there,' Gar said thankfully, yet nervously with red cheeks.

Raven nodded.

She reached for the headphones hanging around her neck and brought them over-

'My parents died in a plane crash.' He blurted out.

Raven immediately jerked her head towards him. She saw he was facing forward, an angry, depressed, forced smile on his face. 'Huh?' Was all she could say.

'My parents died in a plane crash.' He said in a solid voice.

'R-Rita an-d St-steve? But, I ju-just sa-'

'My real parents.' He said, and it looked like he was doing his best to not cry.

On the other hand, Raven was, she was... She let her hand touch his cheek gently, and she caressed it, 'Gar, please,' She worriedly began, 'At least look at me.'

'Nobody knows about it, Rae,' He said, finally turning to look at her with such vulnerability that made her heart break. 'My parents, -My biological parents, M-mark and Ma-Marie Logan, th-they... i-in-' And now he was slowly crying.

Raven caringly held his face, and let it fall in the crook of her neck as he silently sobbed.

Never in her life had she seen a broken Garfield Logan.

Yes, she had seen him cry. But it was usually for a fallen ice-cream or a lost match when they were younger, but never had she seen him cry about such a serious matter.

She had known Gar from the first day of middle grade. He was the only one that accepted her for who she was then, a freak. But instead of hiding it, he always told her to embrace and cherish her freakiness. From 5th grade, he was always the lovable dork she had known him for, laughing, smiling, grinning...

She always thought he had the perfect life any freak could ask for. She knew he did not have the best relationship with his father, but he had a really, really loving mother, Rita. And even a healthy neighborhood.

But never in her life did she think, or even imagine him as an adoptive child.

Sure, now that she thought about it, he did not have any facial similarities with Rita, or, heaven forbid Steve, and that his surname, Logan, was completely out of the blue, but when she met him, she was just 10 for heaven's sake, and she grew older with him, she never even noticed. Though being narrow-minded, she always imagined adopted people glum and depressed. But as she saw his face buried in her neck... maybe he was...

Slowly she felt his sobbing slow, and his breathing even out.

'I- I'm so- sorry.' He said weakly, lifting his head and wiping his tears with his sleeve. For some reason, Raven found it really cute.

'What on Earth are you sorry for Gar?' Raven said, wiping a tear on his cheek with her thumb.

'For crying in front of you like that.' He said, feeling shy all of a sudden. He buried his face in his arms. 'Arrgh... I'm so sorry, Rae. It's just that, I've never talked or thought about them recently, and then when we on the flight... I-I... I just don't want to dump everything on you, Rae...' It looked like he was doing his best not to cry in front of her again. Raven understood it, and caringly touched his cheek and turned his face to make eye-contact.

The moment when they both sitting close and made eye-contact, Raven felt as if she could just move forward, and- They both stared into each other's eyes and felt sparks.

'You don't have to worry about that, Gar.' She was still holding his face, and her voice was coming out breathy. 'You know you can always count on me. I care about you.'

He smiled softly at her and nuzzled into her hand. Then he slowly pulled back and rested his head on the backrest

'Thanks, Rae,' Raven mimicked his pose. 'It's just that, as I've said before, I've never really talked 'bout them,' Then he turned around and looked at her with a smile. 'And as you've seen... You're the person I trust enough to mention... my parents.'

'I know the feeling of loneliness and losing a family member... Gar.' She said with a knowing smile. Amethyst eyes piercing into Emerald. 'But with you...' She breathed, suddenly feeling an overwhelming surge of emotions. Their faces were so close.

Gar then pulled away with a pink-tinted face. 'Well, now that you know... I'm still afraid of flights..' He joked.

Raven just shook her head to realize whatever the hell had just transpired between them.

'We-Well,' She started, suddenly feeling flustered in front of him. 'I like to listen to music...' She suggested, taking out one pair of ear-phones from her hoodie's pocket. 'It soothes my brain.' She said, offering him one ear-bud. He hesitantly took the ear-bud from her. 'Won't you listen?' He said, fixing it in his ear.

'Well... we'll share.' She said, fixing the opposite bud in her ear, only to be faced with a tomato-faced Gar. She laughed looking at his flustered face, to which he awkwardly smiled.

'Well?' She asked him, resting her hand on the armrest between them, and making it face upwards as an invitation for him to hold it. He held it tightly. They smiled at each other.

'Thank you. Like, really. Thank you so much, Raven.' He said, and couldn't help but smile by looking at the red sheet covering her pale cheeks. 'It really means a lot to me, Rae.' You mean a lot to me, Rae

She smiled.

*Passengers are now free to remove their seat belts. The drinks and snacks will be provided shortly.*

Kory tugged at her boyfriend's arm, who was currently sleeping.

'Huh, what's up, Star?' He asked groggily.

'Look at them, Dick.' She said, turning around and pointing the back. 'I always thought they would look cute together!'

At the end, two figures lay asleep in their seats.

Raven had her head positioned on Gar's broad shoulders, and Gar's was resting above her... and they both were holding hands, with Raven's phone and the earphones squeezed in the middle. They both had a cute, almost like a love-struck kind of smiles on their faces.

'Me too, Kory.' Dick said, smiling at his friends, 'Me too.'
