Chapter 2: No one asks when you gotta go

The group was currently walking along the pier after Ash's battle at the Vermillion city gym. Misty wasn't even surprised to see Ash defeat Surge at this point. The man was arrogant and Ash exploited that to its fullest extent.

"That was pretty smart of you Ash to use Pikachu's speed to overcome Raichu's strength. How do you know to even do that?" Brock asks.

"Well he did say he'd evolve it as soon as he got it right?"

"Oh that was a good catch. Honestly, you almost seem to know what he was going to do before he did it."

"Really?" Ash said with a laugh if either of his companions caught the nervousness in his voice they didn't say anything which Ash was grateful for.

Then they were mobbed by two schoolgirls who gave them tickets to board the St. Anne who unknown to Misty and Brock, but known to Ash were really Jessie and James in disguise. Aura sight was useful like that.

The food at the buffet was the best Misty had ever had. It was still second to Brock's cooking of course. It came close though. However despite her gorging she notices that Ash had barely eaten anything. If anything he seem distracted absently poking at his food.

"You seem tense Ash is something wrong?" Misty asks Ash.

"Sorry Misty I'm just trying to remember something." Ash tells. "Excuse me I got to go to the bathroom." Ash gets up and walks away with Pikachu trailing behind him ignoring the looks of concern his friends give him and share between themselves.

It sucks having to walk into one of Team Rocket's traps Ash thinks bitterly to himself. He hates having to fight them too, but this isn't his Jessie, James, and Meowth. At least not yet and it'll be hard to convince them to turn against Giovanni without proof of what that man was willing to do in the future.

"Excuse me young man, but we need all guests to stay in the ballroom." A waitress (really a rocket agent in disguise) tells him with a fake smile.

"Diarrhea." Ash says plainly and the waitress falters a moment.

"Oh, you're excused. Please hurry back." The waitress says moving out of the way allowing Ash to run past. As he turns the corner Ash hears a waiter speak to the waitress.

"What are you doing? That was one of the priority targets!"

"Look I'm a crook, but I'm not going to stop someone when they're about to crap their pants! We'll just tell the bosses we'll need to delay the heist till he comes back."

Ash smiles slightly to himself. Just as planned.

However for a certain trio everything was not going to plan. Jessie, James, and Meowth were currently whispering in a corner amongst themselves about the plan going off the rails due to one certain trainer needing to leave for the restroom. Which resulted in the trio's complexity addiction for Pikachu to kick in causing them to halt things till he came back.

"Where's the twerp? The grunts are getting impatient."

"In the bathroom."

"For twenty minutes?"

"Well that girl grunt did say he had diarrhea."

"Wonder if its something he ate? What if we ate the same thing?"

The trio contemplates that for a minute in dread. It wouldn't be fun, in fact it'd be downright humiliating, to have to stop in the middle of the motto to rush to the bathroom.

"The boss isn't going to be happy about this."

Thankfully, this was taken out of their hands when the cruise ship suddenly rocks back and fourth throwing them into a wall and than the floor.

"Ouch."

"That hurt."

"Oh what can go wrong now?"

It was then the twerp in question runs in screaming that they just got caught in the middle of a storm and the ship was going to capsize and they need to get to the lifeboats.

The trio blink and are torn between fear of the storm and relief that they'd have an excuse to give the boss.

A crowd of panicking trainers then tramples them as they flee for the lifeboats. The trio lies there on the ground whimpering in pain.

"New rule: no one is allowed to ask: 'what can go wrong now?' ever again." Jessie said with a groan.

"Agreed." Said the other two.

Sitting in a lifeboat, Ash smiles smugly to himself as he places his last pokeball into his backpack to make sure they'd all stay safe and more importantly not be separated from him. They may have avoided going down with the ship and all the craziness that followed right afterwards, but they were still in the middle of a storm and he wasn't going to take any chances with his pokemon. He then puts in back on and makes sure the straps were nice and tight before settling into his seat.

He was also kind of excited. He had changed things if only a little! He couldn't wait to see where things went from here!

This is very short and stupid, but I thought it'd be too hilarious to pass up. Again, Ash isa going to be trolling people a lot during this. This particular moment was inspired by a scene from Venture Bros. between 21 and The Monarch. I forget the exact wording, but the idea was the more awkward/embarrassing the explanation the less likely people were to ask questions or try and stop you. We all have to go eventually and you'd have to be a complete dick to deny someone to use the bathroom. Even Team Rocket Grunts have standards.
