About Me

I'm a university student in France currently completing my master's degree, which explains but does not excuse my slow update schedule.

My first attempt at fanfiction happened years ago, but the result wasn't great. My run-on sentences had run-on sentences, and that was the least terrible thing about it.

One of the reasons my writing is now so much better than it was then is a writing competition called The International Wizarding School Championship. It's a game—or a contest, depending on how competitive you are—that offers creative challenges, beta reading, reviews, and detailed feedback. It's a friendly and supportive environment, so if you're interested or curious, take a look or PM me.

I want to keep improving my writing, so if you have any constructive feedback, I'd love to hear it. Don't worry about hurting my feelings. You'll never be as harsh as my criminal law professor who read aloud students' test scores and made snide comments about everyone's essays.

About my Stories

If you prefer the formatting on AO3, I have an account with the same username minus the spaces (xHemlockx), but I haven't got around to posting any of my one-shots there yet.

My multi-chapters:

I. The Estranged Convict – Harry Potter. In progress. This story covers the events of Prisoner of Azkaban onwards with one alteration to canon that affects the rest of the storyline, namely Sirius Black had a child before he got locked up. Kali causes a chain of events that both improves and worsens the characters' lives.

II. A Squib at Hogwarts – Harry Potter. Complete. The title says it all. Cassidy Doyle is a Squib who conned her way into Hogwarts. Now an old woman, she tells her audience about her past and imparts some hard-earned life lessons. I experimented with my writing style for this story, choosing a 1st person narrator who addresses her public (the reader) directly.

III. Lovers' Bequest – Supernatural. Complete. A Destiel case fic that I wrote because I had exams, which is always when I feel most inspired to procrastinate. I turned my lack of impulse-control into a plot point within this story by imagining a town whose inhabitants have lost any hint of self-restraint.

My one-shots:

All of my one-shots are set in the Harry Potter universe, and most were written for The International Wizarding School Championship. My favourite is Blood Stains, a crime/suspense fic in which Sirius goes missing during a Ministry party and someone turns up dead.
