Si están aquí es para saber un poco más acerca de mí así que ¡empecemos!

Yo soy mexicana, aquí nací y aquí vivo. Hablo tanto inglés como español y uso ambos al momento de escribir. Entre mis pasatiempos se encuentra leer, escribir, cantar y ver anime. Mi anime favorito es Naruto, y mi libro favorito es La sombra del viento.

Siempre he soñado con convertirme en escritora, pero la primera vez que creí que seriamente podría conseguirlo fue en quinto de primaria. Ahora estoy en tercer grado de secundaria, y escribir es lo que quiero hacer por el resto de mi vida. He escrito tanto historias originales, como fanfics y poesía.

Soy una amante de la ortografía y también participo como beta en el grupo Beta Readers.

Well, if you are here, it means you want to know a bit about me so, let's begin!

I'm Mexican, I was born here, and I still live here. I speak both English and Spanish, and I use both when it comes to writing. I like to read, write, sing and watch anime. My favorite anime is Naruto, and my favorite book is The Shadow of the Wind.

Writing has always been my dream, but the first time that I actually thought that my dream of becoming an authoress could come true, was when I was in fifth grade. I'm currently in ninth grade, and writing is what I want to do for a living. I've written both fanfics, original stories and poetry.

I'm a lover of grammar and spelling, and I also work as a beta for the group Beta Readers.

¿Qué es el fanfiction para mí?

Como ya he dicho en otras ocasiones y seguiré diciendo, en mi opinión personal, el fanfiction no es necesariamente una historia larga y de varios capítulos que narre el matrimonio o la vida de pareja de los personajes, sino algo, una historia corta, para mantener a los personajes a los que amamos con nosotros, un espacio para poner esas conversaciones y relaciones que no se vieron en los libros/series, esas amistades que nos hubiera gustado que se profundizaran, para esas parejas que nunca vimos. No se trata de poner tu opinión sobre un personaje o darle un fin trágico sólo porque te caía gordo, sino de ofrecer razones para ello de una manera ecuánime. Es un espacio para estar con esos personajes a los que aún no queremos dejar ir.

What does fanfiction mean to me?

As I have previously said and will continue to mantain, in my very pesonal opinion, fanfiction is not necessarliy a large, multi-chaptered story that narrates the marriage or love life of the characters, but something, a short story, that keeps our beloved characters with us, a space to put those conversations and relationships that were not in the books/shows, those friendships that we wanted to see more of, a space for those couples that were never seen. It's not about your opinion on a character or give him a tragic ending just because you dislike dhim, but to offer reasons as to why in an even way. It's a space to be with those characters of which we don't want to let go just yet.

Todo comienza con la semilla de una idea, una imagen o un concepto, que crece conforme el autor añade personajes, ideas que ama,

retazos de sus gustos e intereses hasta crear un universo.

Un poco más sobre mí...

Empecé a escribir cuando tenía doce años y desde entonces no he podido dejar de hacerlo. Entre otras cosas, leer ha sido mi pasión desde que tengo seis años, pero se volvió aún más fuerte cuando cumplí los diez y a partir de entonces no dejo la casa sin un libro, así vaya a la esquina. Estas dos cosas se las debo infinitamente a mi padre sobre todo, que me ha apoyado siempre y a una amiga que fue la primera en leer algo escrito por mí, Cristina.

Además de escribir, me fascina hablar en público, ya sea declamando poesía o como oradora, y estoy interesada en crecer como conferencista, aunque eso es un plan a futuro por el momento. Soy lo que se diría alguien obsesionada con la ortografía, pues creo que no puedes pretender que los otros te entiendan si tú no sabes expresarte, así que también tengo un perfil como beta y colaboro con El ágora de los lectores beta. Si te gustaría que te ayudara a corregir alguna historia o tienes alguna pregunta sobre gramática, ¡no dudes en preguntarme!

Otro de esos planes a futuro es transcribir todas mis historias del inglés al español y viceversa. Voy a hacerlo, lo prometo, sólo denme algo de tiempo, pues en este momento le he dado prioridad a terminar las historias que tengo pendientes (luego se me olvida la idea y es un desastre).

Por último, soy una fiel creyente de que detrás de una historia publicada hay mucho, mucho más que lo que puede verse a primera vista, y hay veces en que una historia es tantas cosas que ni siquiera el escritor puede explicar de dónde surgió originalmente la idea, pero si a alguno de ustedes le gustaría preguntar cómo se me ocurrió la trama para alguna historia, ¡siéntanse libres de preguntar, para eso es el botón de PM!

A little bit more about me...

I started writing when I was twelve years and haven't been able to stop ever since. Among other things, reading has been my passion since I was six years, but this became way stronger when I turned ten, and from then on there's no day I leave my house without a book, even if I'm just going to the corner out of my house. These two things I infinitely owe to my father, who has always supported me and to a frend, who was the first one to ever read something I had written, Cristina.

Apart from writing, I love speaking in public, either as declaiming poetry or as a speaker, and I am very interested in growing in this field, though it is a plan for the future right now. I am what you would call someone obsessed with spelling (or a grammar Nazi), as I believe that you cannot expect others to understand you if you do not know how to exoress yourself, which means I also have a profile as a beta and I colaborate with El ágora de los lectores beta (I'm sorry if it's in Spanish!). And well, although English is not my first language, if you'd like me to help you correct a story or if you have any questions about grammar or whatever, don't be afraid to ask me! I'd love to help you!

Another one of those plans for the future includes translating all my stories from Sanish to English and viceversa. I'm going to do it, I promise, just give me some time, because right now I've given priority to finishing my pendant stories (if not I forget the idea and it's a disaster).

Finally, I am a believer that behind every published story there's much, much more than what meets the eye, and sometimes a story has so many things that not even the writer can explain where did the idea come from, but if any of you would like to ask how I came with the plot for a story, feel free to ask, that's what PM's are for!

Bueno, quiero compartirles algo más. Este mes hace exactamente tres años (desde febrero del 2013) que escribí mi primera historia, un fanfic llamado Campanas de la serie Death Note. En ese momento no tenía ni idea de lo grande que llegaría a ser esto, ni de que ése era el primer paso hacia algo que realmente ha definido una etapa de mi vida.

Decidí que debía hacer algo para conmemorar esta fecha, y se me ocurrió que no había nada mejor que acercarme a ustedes, los lectores, que al fin y al cabo son los que me han apoyado, los que me piden que continúe haciendo esto (la verdad sería incapaz de dejarlo aunque me lo pidieran, así que es un honor que al menos les guste lo que hago), y los que hacen que esto valga la pena.

Queriendo mejorar la comunicación con ustedes los lectores decidí abrir una cuenta de Facebook dedicada al fanfiction (con el nombre de Karen Hikari igual), en donde podrán ver mis próximas actualizaciones, los planes para el mes ¡y muchas más cosas!

Como siempre, muchísimas gracias a todos esos seguidores, a quienes se han tomado la molestia de leer, de comentar, de añadir a favoritos. Esto lo hago por ustedes y para ustedes y, con toda honestidad, me debo a los lectores, así que esta es una forma más para extenderles mi agradecimiento.

Les aviso desde ahora que esto será una total locura, porque como he escrito historias tanto en inglés como español, tengo seguidores de ambos idiomas así que ya me verán traduciendo cada nota que haga. ¡Esperemos que no queme nada en esta página!

Okay, I just want to share something with you. This month it makes exactly three years (from February 2013) since I wrote my first story, a fanfic called “Campanas” (Bells, in English) for the show Death Note.

At the moment I had no idea of how big this would be and neither did I know that this was my first step to a whole new chapter of my life.

I decided that I had to do something special to commemorate this date and I thought that nothing would be better than becoming closer to you, the readers, who in the end are the ones who have supported me, who ask me to continue doing this (I wouldn’t be able to stop even if you asked me to, so it’s my honor that at least you like my work), and who are the ones who make this worth it.

Wanting to make my communication with you readers better I decided to open a Facebook account dedicated to fanfiction (wunder the name of Karen Hikari too) in which you will be able to see what story I plan to update soon, my plans for the month and a lot more of things!

As always, thank you, thank you to all those followers, to the ones who have read, commented, added to favorites. I do this thanks to and for you and, in all honesty, I owe myself to you, so this is just another way to extend my gratitude to you lovely people.

I’m telling you from this moment, that this page will be madness, because as I have written stories both in English and Spanish, I have followers that speak both languages, so you’ll see me translating each and every note I write. Let’s hope this doesn’t crash and burn too bad!
