Once A Liar, Always...

She sat patiently in the corner booth. Her eyes scanned the area for a mop of blonde hair that belonged to the broody and brash Stefan Salvatore. Flicking her hair back she glanced at her wrist watch, it had ten minutes she had been waiting for ten minutes. Rebekah Mikaelson never waited for anyone but this one was important...different.

She signalled to the waiter and instantly a tiny smile graced her face as she saw Stefan approach.

He slid in the booth as the waiter came. "One beer and one apple juice and vodka." Stefan ordered and saw the smirk that appeared on Rebekah's face. He could not decide if she was happy or was looking down on him failing to realized that she was glad he remembered the choice of her drink.

Aside from the typical punch of lust to his gut he felt inadequate whenever he was with her, as if she was from the royals and he was a commoner.

"I am." She answered. For a moment he was stunned then realized he had said the royal thing out loud. "Not exactly from Royal family but my father is a Lord and my mother is Princess Loretta's cousin twice removed."

He looked sheepish and slightly embarrassed albeit cute but he quickly managed to muck it up with his next comment, "I am not interested in you or your lineage. I said you look royal because of the way you look down upon others."

Anger rose but she was wise enough not to express it, "Tell me Mr Salvatore are you sound of mind?" she leaned forward giving him a glimpse of her cleavage stirring his lust, "What do you mean?" He ground out.

"I mean if you are not interested in me then why are you bothered by me looking down upon others which I may add is really presumptuous of you to conclude since you don't know the first thing about me. Also if memory serves right you're the one who called me here tonight. I succinctly remember we concluded our business last time." She leaned back and began inspecting her nails effectively dismissing him. Again he felt his passion burn for her. He fisted his hands in his pockets, "I'm sorry." He surprised her as much as himself with his apology.

"I should not have lashed out at you especially when you are helping us find your brother the most wanted fugitive , The Wolf. I called you here because I need more."

"More what?" annoyingly her heart skipped a beat.

"More information on your brother's whereabouts. The photos you gave me were a good lead but he had left before we when there. We couldn't find anything substantial."

"That is not my problem." She got up to leave just as the waiter brought their drinks her spirits deflated.

"Okay. But you can at least stay for the drinks as token of apology for me being an ass a while ago." He smiled, a genuine one it softened his face.

"A stingy ass." She sat down, it pleased him. This time the fist to his gut wasn't just lust, it was something more but he didn't fight it.

"Excuse me stingy?" he playfully asked.

"Yes. Just drinks for an apology I'd say that's pretty miser of you Mr Salvatore."

"Stefan. Call me Stefan." He remarked but couldn't shake that feeling of being not worth her. He other beaus might give her expensive gifts as an apology after all she was the daughter of a mafia leader, who was also a Lord and her mother was the cousin of the Royals twice freaking removed for fucks sake. He mentally swore and this time fisted his hands because of that shard of jealousy pierced him. He shook it away not wanting to ruin the moment.

She sensed the shift in his demeanour and felt him come back. He was turning out to a tough one, a complex layered man. It delighted her for an odd reason. They reached for their drinks at the same time their hands touched, something sparked, both retreated at the same time and then laughed.

Her laugh was a deep throaty one, seductive and captivating slithered beneath his skin.

His laugh rich, masculine it tantalised her senses. She welcomed it even though she knew she might end up in dangerous waters.

"It's frustrating this way." Caroline announced as Klaus turned his head and saw her enter the security room.

"I mean we just wait for them to come to us." She saw him immediately click and the screen went black. It would have raised her suspicions before but now she trusted him explicitly.

"You know the plan, Love. There are other ways but it's safer this way." He tucked a curl behind her ear. She brought out the best and the worst in him. His fierce need to protect, his compassion his best qualities and the urge to kill anyone who even thought of hurting a single hair on her head.

"You're doing it again. Ughhh. Klaus." She shrugged off his hand. "You're trying to protect me. Is there something you are hiding from me?"

"Now why would you think that?"

"You get this weird glint in your eyes like the same one before you pulled that macho stunt to retrieve that fake bracelet. It's so ..."

"Frustrating?" he inquired as he grabbed her from behind and licked a path down her ear. She shivered in his arms exciting him. "I'm more than glad to take some of your frustration away." He sucked on her neck now, she moaned his name. He twisted her his mouth descended on hers, hot and feverish. She locked her legs around him.

This time he took her against the wall. She was as ravenous as he was. Passion a fire burned bright and strong inside them. Their love for each other just as ardent. Both gave each other as much as they took.

"I'm serious. I swear to god if you are planning to pull off some other stunt on me I'll kill you myself." She remarked as she shifted on top of him.

He swore. "So we are back on that topic."

"You should have more sense than to think you distracted me."

"Caroline trust me. It's me and you together." He got up with Caroline still on top of him. He kissed her once then deepened it as if to calm her. She kissed him back. "Together always. Promise me. It's us. No you and me just us." He understood what she was asking.

Since the APB and their plan to lure the FBI to them had been in motion Caroline reminded him again and again that they were one. He knew she feared he might sacrifice himself and she wasn't wrong if need be he would unflinchingly do so but she didn't have to know that.

"It's us." He kissed her again. "Always us." Another light pack on the corner of her mouth. She bit his lip. He laughed. "I promise, Love."

Satisfied for now she let go of the topic but she couldn't rattle the feeling that he was planning something else, not something against her but out of his weird sense of protection for her. She loved him, utterly and fiercely. There was no going forward with out him, she will damn well make sure of it.

Mikael got his men to dispose off Tatia's body. She hadn't been of much use. Despite telling him what he already knew that his son was colluding the enemy's daughter she hadn't told him anything substantial. He checked his anger poured red wine and drank it. As he downed the drink he crushed the glass in his hand. How could his own son betray him like this and that too for a woman. He wouldn't let Bill win this way.

He knew Bill's dirty tactics. That scum was using his own daughter to get to Mikael's son but he wouldn't let this happen.

Elijah had called letting him know he hadn't been able to locate Niklaus and that he was leaving for another assignment in Prague with Katerina.

Striking a deal with Bill had been futile as well. The resort had already been abandoned. It seemed like Mikael had to take matters into his own hands.

He dialled a number, "Hello."

"Oh you must be desperate that you called me." He hated the person to whom the voice belonged to on the other end.

"Yes it seems so. I need you to find someone."

"Who?"

"Niklaus my son."

"Just find or??"

Mikael hesitated. People were snickering behind his back, he was fodder of gossip in the underworld just because of Niklaus but he couldn't bring himself to say it. "Just locate him for now, leave the rest to me."

"Fine by me." The other person then hung up.

She woke up with a start, saw Klaus's side of the empty. Caroline got up and put on her clothes went to the living room. They were staying at one of Klaus's safe houses.

This one near a hilltop. He rushed inside from the back of the house. He gestured her to stay quiet by a finger over his lips. Coming close to her he whispered, "They're here."

They immediately ran towards the basement and readied themselves to fight. Klaus packed at least a dozen weapons, small pistols and knifes on his person. He saw her pull her hair up in a sexy bun, wearing all black form fitting suit she tormented him. He handed her a gun she took it, "I'm more of a knife person but this one's for you, Love." She passed and he grabbed her for a mind numbing kiss.

A thud on the floor above interrupted them. "Later." He mumbled. As planned one took the front and the other back. Caroline stealthily took the front. The plan was to take out as many of them as possible and flee in plain sight for them to be chased by the police.

She took out five, slit their throats before one them spotted her and shot her, " I see menace. Target locked. I'm out at front. Need more back..." he was signalling bit was taken out by a shot on his forehead dead centre with the pistol Klaus had given her. "Nice."

More men rushed in crashing windows and doors and emptied their guns. Shouts and yells rang throughout the house.

Klaus heard the din of guns. His worry escalated, he needed to take out as many men as possible so he could rush to her side. A silencer attached to his gun helped him take out at least a dozen before he came face to face with the one called Damon Salvatore. Damon fired Klaus ducked then kicked out his leg so Damon's gun fell out his hand. He kicked away Damon's gun. He in turn kicked Klaus, launched a punch which he easily thwarted off. Klaus rounded a punch which met Damon's face, he spit out blood, swore and attacked. They fought each other, when his HT beeped, "Damon I've been compromised. Ughh. She stabbed me." Elena's voice left him reeling. Klaus knocked him out with a punch and he clashed with a wall as Klaus landed a solid kick to his guts. Without a backward glance he hastened towards the front of the house.

By the time he reached the front of the house Caroline had already started the Volkswagen. "I counted there are six Cop cars. Twenty men. We took out twelve.

They're coming." She remarked as Klaus hurriedly got in.

She pushed the pedal drove off on maximum speed and saw three of the cars following them.

Klaus took out the rifle, a few other guns and had grenades as well.

When he was done assembling his weaponry he glanced at Caroline. A large gash ran down from her right cheek it enraged him, gently he took her chin in his hands, "Who?" then leaned out of the car to shoot at the one immediately behind.

One bullet killed the cop who was driving and the car veered off the road. He then threw grenades at the car effectively taking it out.

"It's just a nick. Elena distracted me with her passive aggressiveness about Kat." She remarked when he sat back inside.

"I'll kill her." He muttered under his breath, a menacing threat.

"The other two are way far behind. Should we slow do..." her words still in her mouth as she saw at least four more cars follow them.

"Damn they have more back up I guess."

"More fun for us." He sarcastically commented.

Caroline sped up the car. "It's show time."

One approached, Klaus took a machine gun and fired. Out of control it swerved off the road. Another one on Caroline's side," Take the wheel." She exclaimed. He complied and she fired a round of shots and threw a grenade which effectively took out this one as well.

Klaus then took out two more cop cars. Damon and Elena then caught up with them. Damon fired a couple of shots, with one closely missing Klaus. It irked Klaus. "This is getting on my nerves." Klaus sighed before he threw two grenades in Damon's car. Damon and Elena both jumped out in time, unhurt.

"Klaus we need them to follow us." Caroline yelled over the din of the cars and shots.

"I know. Switch sides. I'm all out." He yelled back. Caroline shifted to the passenger seat and he took the wheel. She then fired at the two SUVS simultaneously. It was just Damon and Elena who were now chasing them.

Caroline nodded once knowing too well that this was the moment that Klaus would drive off the cliff, in plain view of the cops. Instead he turned the other corner.

"What are you doing?" she inquired with surprise.

"Trust me." Was all he said and then disappeared in the forest.

"Where the hell did they go?" Damon questioned as the Volkswagen disappeared.

"Wait." Elena remarked as she got out of the car. She proceeded forward among the flurry of trees. Took out a metallic gadget, lifting it she pressed a button and the whole scene changed. Trees vanished and in front of them was rocky track.

"One of Stefan's friends gave this to him. It's a decloack. They had cloaked the whole area sort of like a camouflage. Let's see what leads up this track." She turned to gaze at him and saw she looked awfully proud of herself.

The expression on Damon's face said it all. It bothered Damon whenever she met Stefan without telling him.

He had just started taking the baby steps towards being more trusting of her but anytime something like this happened his insecurities began surfacing.

Damon bit off his words at the mention of his brother. Elena had history with Stefan so anytime she talked to Stefan in Damon's absence it made him feel insecure and he hated that feeling, but he squished it, it wouldn't do their relationship any favours.

Elena silently walked towards him. She held his face in her hands running soothing fingers over his face and kissed him.

"What the he.." his kiss searing and tempestuous stopped the rest of her words and tied her to the pole. He pulled her closer, her body flush against his, he felt her passion and love, flowing through her kiss.

His tongue desperate and needy, his hands frantic. He knew he had broken all his vows, understood she may never forgive him. But he was bound by duty. Bound by some other vows he had made to himself.

Reluctantly he broke the kiss. "I am sorry Caroline. I had to do this." Klaus moved back. He had tied her to a pole inside the house on the hills. They had entered the forest area and had abandoned their car. He had said his informants had told him that the cops knew about their plan to fake their death by driving their car off the cliff and into the ocean below and that is why he had led her up the rocky trail in this dingy looking cottage.

His betrayal landed blows on her heart. "Of course." was all she said before looking away from him. She couldn't fully turn away as she was bound.

She should try to get out of the ties but she didn't want to, not at the moment, when he stood so close. Something inside her, wept for the coming loss.

"I wish it could be different." With one last declaration and a heavy heart he left.

Klaus swiftly got into the car. He wanted to go back, go back to her and make everything right but he stopped himself. His loyalty came before his own feelings. With one last glance at the house as if he could somehow see her he drove off.
