Chapter 4
Ok, so it's been a week since I got here, and I would like to say again how fucked this house is. I had gotten a bit bored, so I decided to explore the mansion and let me say that that was a terrible idea. The place gives off an air of wrongness everywhere I go. I barely see anyone here, even though that is a good thing. But even then, when no one is around, I feel like I'm being watched, so I stay in my room now.
I had found after exploring my room that Shinji had a shelf of books by a desk that I had completely ignored for the most part when I got here, so I decided to look through its contents. The first thing I found was a beginner's book on mage craft, so I put it on the desk before I continued looking around the shelf. Eventually, I found a map of Fuyuki city which will be very helpful for when I go out to explore the city. For now, I need to read this beginner's guide.
Ok, so I've been going over the beginner's guide, and I've found out some things. First: A person's soul determines how many circuits one may have, so seeing as I am an entirely different soul, I should have some circuits, which means trashing that nerve's idea. I attempted to activate them but decided against them, seeing as there is a high possibility that the worm could sense me, so I didn't do it.
Putting the guide aside, for now, I go over the map that I had found and started pointing out key places that I want to go to and places I really should avoid, like the church.
"Wow, this place is bigger than I thought. It might take me a whole day to walk around and find everything." With that said, I fold the map up and put it in my pocket, and I go to the kitchen to get some snacks and something to drink for my walk.
I walk up to the gate, ready to start my adventure before a voice calls out to me. "Shinji." Jumping in shock, I spin around to see Zouken standing behind me.
"Oh uh Grandfather, what are you doing here?" I cannot begin to explain how nervous I am at this like wow, I've only been looking at him for a few seconds, and my hands feel like they're starting to sweat.
Raising his eyebrow in amusement, he responds. "I was tending to my garden. What are you doing, Shinji?"
"Going for a walk?" We stare at each other for what feels like forever before he huffs and turns around and walks back into the small forest that we somehow have.
"Do not stay out for long." And with that, he walks back into the mansion, disappearing into the shadows. Without waiting for anything else to happen, I open the gate, close it, and leave.
After getting lost more times than I would like to admit, I finally found what I was looking for: a nice quiet spot in the forest around Ryuudou temple. It's nice and peaceful, a very relaxing place away from any people and hopefully any familiars.
I sit my bag down as I take in the scenery around me, taking a few deep breaths; I stand still before I look up and say: "WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-."
A.N.:And scene yay chapter 4. I was trying to finish this chapter for a bit, but then procrastination, writer's block, and new ideas hit me at once, so to help my brain decided to make MOFI (My Other Fanfic Ideas) for short little rough drafts so my head can clear up a bit, Also thanks so much for the tips. Honestly, I might make another fanfic to keep myself focused.
