Lorna's Pov

I was walking down the hallway towards the cell we were keeping Andy in. I felt bad about keeping him in there, it probably brought back painful memories about what happened at Trask, but it was the only place that could stop his powers in the base.

I sighed as I got to the door. I just stood there for a second thinking of what I would say to him if I would apologize or not. He was like a little brother to me, I wanted to protect him and that included from himself but I didn't know how to explain that. I didn't think that he would be all that accepting of an apology at the moment. Maybe he didn't deserve one, he was in the wrong, we were just responding to his actions.

I shook my head and unlocked the door and opened it cautiously half expecting to be hit by his powers as soon as I opened the door.

Andy was just sitting in the far corner staring at the floor, his arm resting on one of his knees.

"What do you want," He said, barely even glancing at me.

"You can come out now," I said.

He just kept staring at the floor, "What's the point you're all scared of me anyway."

"We're not scared of you Andy, just worried about you that's all," I said gently, taking a step inside the room.

"We both know that's a lie. Everyone here is scared of me. Lauren and I have known that for months." Andy said as he stood up, "It's why we left. It's why we didn't plan on coming back."

He tried to brush past me walking out the door but I grabbed his arm stopping him, "What were you planning on doing all by yourselves for the rest of your lives? Keep running, hoping sentinel services never catch up?"

"Yeah, I guess and getting answers," Andy said simply

"Answers about what?" I asked my brow furrowed.

"Our powers Our family. Everything," he said like it was the most obvious answer in the world.

"Andy, we can help you," I said gently.

"Yeah right and lock me in your prison cell again," he said rolling his eyes walking past me into the hallway. I started to follow him but noticed he stopped a couple of feet away from the door. He was staring at the floor with a strange look on his face.

"Andy are you okay?" I said.

He didn't respond, instead falling to his knees, his arms moving to his neck as he fell.

"Andy!" I said quickly moving to the ground next to him and grabbing his arm, "What's wrong?"

"Lauren, something's wrong with Lauren," he said his eyes wide. All of a sudden his eyes rolled back in his head and he slumped to the ground unconscious.

"Andy! Wake up!" I said shaking him. What did he mean something was wrong with Lauren. I thought he said that the connection between them was cut off That it wasn't working.

Mia all of a sudden appeared next to me, "What happened?" she asked frantically.

"Get Caitlin," I said.

Mia nodded and disappeared in a cloud of shadows. I turned back to Andy. What the hell was happening?

Lauren's Pov

I don't know why these stupid guards keep forcing me to go outside. I was perfectly happy to just sit in my cell and stare at the wall like a normal mutant prisoner, but no I just had to go outside and get tortured. Why couldn't they just leave me alone?

I walked outside into the small walkway in between the two fenced-in areas. The one on my left was where I normally sat that just had tables and chairs, but the one on my right was just a small patch of what was supposed to be grass but was really mostly just dirt.

I sighed as the guards stopped pushing me as I walked and instead roughly grabbed my arm to get to the handcuffs around my wrists. The guard kept looking at me warily the entire time he was trying to get the handcuffs off, he kept messing up the code that you have to put in after the key. I guess even though they pumped me full of drugs to make sure I couldn't use my powers I was still dangerous.

Eventually, the guard got the handcuffs off and I rubbed my wrist grateful they were off. They bit into my wrists so hard they left marks. I sighed as the guard walked away and started to walk towards the table I normally sat at ready to be ridiculed by my peers. Before I could even get into that side of the walkway I felt hands grab me and pull me back into the small dirt area.

I fell onto my back momentarily getting the breath knocked out of me. I heard laughter as I pushed myself off the ground to see who my attacker was.

I looked up to see Lottie, Carrie, and their friends laughing. I glanced at the guards, they wouldn't help me but they might stop me if I found a way to fight back.

"Aww, cute she thinks the guards will help you. News flash, they don't care what we do to you. I actually got a cupcake last time we had one of these encounters." Lottie said, snickering.

I glared at her and pushed myself off the ground and tried to dust off the dirt, "I'm not stupid Lottie. Now, what do you want? I'm not just going to sit around and let you hurt me."

Lottie slowly walked towards me, "Lauren, Lauren, Lauren, I thought you were smarter than that. You can't do much to stop me from beating your ass," she said, smirking.

"Maybe not with my powers, but I do still have hands," I said trying to sound more confident than I felt. I didn't even know how to punch, much less fight

Carrie laughed, "Like all the times you tried to fight back before and failed epically."

Lottie moved towards me quickly and before I could move she grabbed my arm and pushed it behind my back. A jolt of pain went into my shoulder and I winced.

I stared at the ground through my hair, unable to move my arm without it hurting. I wanted to hurt her so badly but I couldn't, my powers were blocked.

Lottie leaned forward and whispered in my ear, "You are pathetic, worse than pathetic. You are nothing." she said quietly. I glared at the ground quietly. "The only impact you have made on this world is murder. You will die here and I'm sure, given enough time, your brother will join you."

I felt white-hot rage run through my veins. How dare she. How dare she even suggest that.

I heard people talking but I didn't know what they were saying, everything was muted. I just kept focusing on that burning desire to kill Lottie, which was making my blood boil. I closed my eyes and focused on it.

Lottie's hand released my arm and instantly I spun around. Lottie was looking at the ground near my feet, eyes wide. I glanced at what she was looking at and saw small pieces of dirt slowly moving towards me. I smiled and put out my hand making a shield out of the air. I pushed it towards Lottie and pinned her up against the wall by her throat. I watched with a dark fascination as she desperately clawed at her throat and tried to push my shield away. She wouldn't be able to, I was too powerful for that.

I knew my collar was probably going off but I couldn't feel it at all, strangely enough. I recognized the feeling was weird but ignored instead focusing back on Lottie.

I could feel her lungs trying to expand to get a breath in but I stopped them, pulling on the walls to pull them together, effectively collapsing them. I smiled as Lottie struggled desperately as she tried to breathe. Even if I let her go I doubt she would be able to see as her lungs no longer would work.

I moved my focus away from her lungs onto her heart, one nicely placed disk should do the trick. I used my other hand to make a disk and aim it but before I could release it I felt hands grab me and someone kicked my knee out from under me. I shot the disk at her as I fell but it caused me to miss her chest and instead hit her neck, decapitating her. That was more violent than I meant it to be.

I realized that guards were grabbing onto me and blood was streaming down my nose. My vision started to blur and I looked at Lottie's headless corpse as the world faded to darkness. What did I do?
