Percy's Pov

As I walked into my makeshift house I saw a small child sitting near my fire. I tried to rack my brain, which goddess took the form of a child? As a kid I was never good at remembering anything, sadly that trait continued throughout life. Instead of confronting the goddess, I just stood there standing. When she finally looked up at me I felt awkward to say the least.

"Hello Percy, I trust that you've been taking care of yourself lately?" said the mysterious girl. I thought about it, I had been doing fine up until this point. My housing was coming along, water wasn't a problem. However, I couldn't say the same for my food supply, as of late I had been fishing, but once winter comes... after looking at her more carefully, I figured out who she was. Hestia. First born of Kronos, why on earth was she here? After I had used my wish to get her throne back for her, I thought we were on good terms. Apparently not, I jumped up and whipped out Riptide. She looked at me unimpressed, as if saying in a scoffing tone 'please'.

"Percy I'm not here to take you to Olympus, no matter how badly Zeus wants you to be there." she told me. I looked at her semi-surprised, Zeus wanted to take me to Olympus.

"I'm fine." I replied. She looked at me as if she knew I was lying straight to her face. I really am I terrible lair. At least that's what she always told me.

"Percy please join me by the fire, I have a proposition for you." she told me. I sat by the fire looking at her expectantly, I decided it was best to at least hear her out. I mean if she had wanted to take me to Olympus she would've already done it by now... right?

I walked over to the fire and sat across from Hestia. I waited patiently to hear what she had to say.

"I've been watching you Perseus, I've seen what the Athenian girl did to you. Before the destruction of camp, you spread hope to so many people. You made the hearth glow, even in times of peril. I'm here to ask if could make you my champion?"

I was stunned to say the least. First a goddess visits me not just any goddess but Hestia! And on top of that she asks me to become her champion. I sat down and thought about my options. I really had nothing here for me, my food was going to become very hard to find once winter fully fell. There was no good reason to stay in my makeshift, dinky house.

"I would love to become your champion M'lady" I replied.

She gave me a beaming smile and then said "prefect! You shall have the powers of the hearth. You can summon any home cooked meal, you have some control over fire. And I must ask you another question young Perseus."

"First I would like to say thank you for letting me become your champion Lady Hestia." And I really was thankful my life had turned from prefect into a shithole very quickly.

"Of course Perseus-" I quickly cut her off, "please Lady Hestia call me Percy." I told her. I probably shouldn't interrupt a goddess m, but I couldn't help it, why does everyone call me Perseus?

"Of course Percy, then I ask you to call me Hestia." Hestia said. I simply nodded showing my compliance.

"Very well, Percy I ask you, as I friend, are you truly living for anything?" Hestia looked upon me, trying to read my emotions. I decided I should be honest with her.

"No Hestia, everyone at camp hates me, I destroyed me old home. The love of my life cheated on me. My father no longer talks with me. My mother-" I stopped, oh my gods I thought. My mother she must be so worried about me.

"I understand, I assume you would like to visit your mother?" I nodded, answering her question. "Very well let me bless you official making you the champion of the hearth". She chanted in a strange language I hadn't heard, all of a sudden I felt a hot ball of fire enter my chest. I felt stronger and more connected to fire then I had ever in my life.

"Be wary of your appearance" she told me, "you look a little different" I went to the river and looked at my reflection, my hair was the same, but my eyes had flakes of orange and red, mixed with my original eye color of sea green. My body, from what I could tell, was a lot more toned. I felt great.

"Hestia, am I able to teleport?" Imagine how awesome that would be I thought.

"You may be able to, you must train your fire abilities, then you perhaps with enough training, you could teleport using the abilities I have blessed you with." She responded.

"Hestia could you teleport me to my mothers house please?" I asked.

"Of course Percy, but brace yourself" Hestia told me in a warning tone. I tried to ponder what she meant by prepare yourself, but I was teleported right in front of my mothers burning apartment building. I instantly ran into the building and up to my mothers apartment, the door was already slightly ajar, so I pulled it open and ran inside. The kitchen was empty, my room was empty, which left my mothers room. I pulled open the door and found my mothers dead body, laying right next to Paul's body. I broke down crying, the fire raged around the apartment building, I could faintly hear the sound of sirens in the background. My mother was killed and I was beyond angry. My mind was shattered, I couldn't think, who would do this. I felt myself being transported away from the apartment.

The next thing I knew I was in an old abandoned warehouse. I saw Hestia standing there, looking at me with sympathy and pity.

"If it makes any difference I'm sorry Percy." Hestia told me in a soft voice. It did make a difference, I felt like Hestia was the only person in the entire world who cared about me.

"Thank you Hestia." I told her. I wasn't sure what I should do next, everybody I cared about either betrayed me, or was killed. I was lost in the huge world of problems. I looked at Hestia, maybe she could help me.

"Hestia what I am going to do next?" I asked her with a bit of desperation in my tone. She looked at me semi-surprised, then stayed silent for a minute thinking about what to say.

"I could send you on missions, you could bring demigods back to Camp Halfblood, if they have problems with men maybe you could even bring those girls to the hunters." she told me. I wasn't so sure at first, after all Camp Halfblood hated me, I assume the hunters were probably looking for me, on Zeus' orders. On the other hand I could save demigods so they don't end up with a terrible fate...

"Very well I agree Hestia, however I am in need of training before I start these missions" I said. It was true my ability to manipulate fire was way below average, granted I did just receive my powers only a couple hours ago.

"I can train you if you would allow me too, it would improve your manipulation of fire much faster than if you did it by yourself, this way you can start your mission faster" Hestia told me. Interesting, I didn't expect her to offer to train me, but hey I won't say no.

"I can't say no to your gracious offer Hestia. Thank you for all you have done for me" I replied. It was true, so really had done so much for me, just when I felt like the world had turned against me, Hestia came and saved me.

"Well, lets get started!" Hestia told me with a fiery determination on her face. (get it Hestia goddess of fire... fiery determination... im so not funny)

...Three Days Later...

Hestia's Pov.

Sweat poured down my face. Young Percy had become a advanced fire user in just three days time, impressive even with the goddess of fire training him. I was currently fighting him for the control of a flame. After a unknown amount of time I finally took full control over the flame, pulling it towards me signaling my victory.

"That was a good round Percy, your control over fire has blossomed immensely over the past few days." I told him. I was proud of Perseus, his dedication to learning this particular skill would rival even Athena.

"Thank you Hestia" He replied. "Do you think I'm ready to go and save my first demigod?" he asked. You could tell Percy was pretty eager to get started.

"Very well Perseus you may go, there is a girl in Los Angeles California, the address of the girl is Baltimore St. 1423, she is a Greek demigod, so you must take her to Camp Halfblood. Also another piece of advice before you go, try to gain the girls trust, I don't know the details of the situation is in, so be wary." I told him.

Percy nodded his head and said, "I understand, I will try my best to gain her trust as quickly as possible, then I will take her to either Artemis or Camp."

I hesitated for a second before deciding, "Percy wait"

"What is it Hestia?" Percy asked as he looked at me. I stepped forward and hugged him saying, "stay safe Percy"

After a few seconds I stepped back smiling, without another word he teleported to Los Angeles California.
