Percy's Pov

Teleporting had always felt weird. It's quite difficult to explain, but it feels like your flesh is being pulled away. Then I'm just seconds you're out back together. The first few experiences I had with teleporting didn't always turn out well. They mostly ended with me crouched down either vomiting or dry heaving. Of course over time those feelings of nausea passed, now I can teleport with nearly no ailments affecting me.

Looking along the random street I had teleported to I saw no one. Strange for a LA street, but hey who am I to complain? I had no idea where I was suppose to be going. Hestia had sent me with a few weeks of training and an address to follow. However, it could be worse at least I knew what I was looking for, I walked into the nearby local post office. If anyone would tell me how to find this address it would be the post office... right?

I headed inside the post office, the lights were dim, the air was musty, it had a thin layer of dust on the ground... Strange, from the outside the post office looked perfectly new. I headed to the front counter, maybe they were closed, and I just missed the sign. But then, wouldn't the door be looked? Something was wrong. I can sense it, the tingle of danger churned inside me, goose bumps popped up along my arm. Time to get out of here. I spun around to leave just as I saw three cyclops enter the post office. I reacted as quickly as I could, whipping out riptide and lunging at one of the large beasts. I brought riptide down with deadly precision swiping it across the chest of the first cyclops. I turned as the other two cyclops turned to face me. Not a single word was said, instead the two dirt bags gave a tremendous roar and charged at me. My battle instincts quickly took over, I dashed to the right, quickly I threw up my hand summing a blast of fire. I directed it to the cyclops on the left, it gave one last pitiful shriek and fell into a pile of golden dust. Turning back to the final cyclops, I saw the creature lift its crude club into the air, that's when I struck. Speed, mixed with years of practice. I lunged forward, driving the sword directly through the cyclops chest.

Man, that sure was a workout. I looked around me noticing that the Post Office now had a lot more golden dust on the floor than I last recall. I promptly walked right out of the post office, no more playing around. I needed to find this demigod. I rubbed my temples when I felt something appear suddenly in my pocket. I reached my hand inside of my cloak pocket, finding there a hand scrawled note, it was from Hestia.

"Dear Champion,

Seeing your struggle to find the demigod in such an enormous settlement gives me a bit on concern, after all it would take any immortal all of eternity to search Los Angles for this demigod; considering the size of the city. As such, I have sent you a surprise, I believe you will like it, after all most humans appreciate a good companion, and no I haven't trained it, I figured you would find joy in doing that.

-Love from, Hestia."

Hm, what on earth is this special surprise Hestia mentioned, and what could I possibly take joy in now? The answer came in the form of a creature, a black dog bounded up towards me, licking my face in the process, letting out a playful "Woof!" in the process. I instantaneously smiled, a dog, of course! I personally loved the creatures but my mother refused to buy one due to how poor we were, and once I got to camp I started to get busy with other things. I looked the dog, studying it, black fur, the shape and look of a wolf, but the strangely entrancing thing about the dog were the eyes, a soft red-ish orange, the colour of the hearth. I recognised the dog as a Siberian husky, one of my favorite dog breed types. I took my unnamed partner and started walking, the Serbian dog seemed to know exactly where it was going, it turned down side streets, walked down the sidewalks, crossed streets. Finally, after walking for what seemed like forever the dog stopped in front of a slightly worn down looking house, painted a light blue, the paint was peeling from the wood. The house's mailbox was broken, hanging slightly off the bleached wooden post, the fence was missing boards in places, the grass seemed to be turning brown. I think the people from house hunters would have given this house a certain no.

I looked down at the dog, think "are you sure this is the right place?", it simply barked back. Wait, could this dog understand me? Insane thought, I walked up to the house, it was quite dark outside, but I knocked anyways; Hestia always taught me to be polite before kicking someones door down. There was no answer, I knocked again. As I waited I turned and looked down the street, nothing really to see but hey who takes this long to open a door anyways? Finally my impatient got the better of me, I lifted my foot and proceeded to slam it into the wooden door, ouch! My foot hurts I thought dimly, it's not like those James Bond movies where he seems invincible is it... I mentally slapped myself saying "Back to focus!" I looked past the destroyed door seeing a totally drunk man laying on the couch. It seemed he was asleep. The smell of alcohol radiated off of him, disgusting I thought. I went upstairs, the first door seemed to be the mans bedroom; at least judging the room by the smell of booze that's what I determined. Moving onto the other two rooms, instantly I figured out which room it was. The outside of the furthest bedroom had a padlock on it. The Bastard. He had locked the poor child inside the room, I knocked softly saying, "Hello? Is anyone in here? I have come to take you away, away from this terrible place." There was no answer to my knock. Was there a chance I was too late? Did something happen to this little girl? This poor girl who didn't choose her fate. I attempted tear the lock off of the door, but again, this isn't a movie so sadly that didn't work. Instead, I again picked up my already beaten foot and slammed it against this door. "OUCH!" I thought, "I seriously need to stop doing that!". I heard a muffled shriek from instead, that gave me hope. I saw the girl in front of my in a instant, she tried to run backwards, but in this tiny of a bedroom there really wasn't anywhere to go. I crouched down to the girls eye level saying, "Hello little one, I am here to take you away, I am here to take you to a safe place, somewhere were no one will ever hurt you again."

She looked at me suspiciously saying, "How do I know I can trust you?"

Suddenly I had a crazy idea, food always made me extremely happy as a kid, maybe she will feel the same way. "Are you hungry? Would you like some food?"

Instantly she looked up at me, "Oh yes! I am very hungry! Do you have a hotdog I can have? I really like those."

Relieved that she looked at least a little more comfortable in my presence I snapped my fingers together and summoned a hotdog, "Here you go! But how about you eat it as we leave this horrid place?" She nodded as she took an enormous bit out of the hotdog. I picked her up placing her on my back, and started walking downstairs. I had no idea who the man was I realised. Looking at the girl I asked, "Who is the man downstairs?"

She got a fearful look in her eyes, "That is my uncle, he is very mean to me. I don't like him very much."

I nodded saying, "Okay thank you for telling me, also little one, what is your name?"

She looked up at me saying, "My name is Alona"

Then we simply left, just walked right outside the front door, well broken down front door. "Alona this is my pet dog, would you like to meet him?"

"Oh yes please!", she exclaimed, "I love dogs so much!" I took Alona to the mysterious dog, which now that I am thinking about it, I really need a name for.

"This is my dog! He is super kind so don't worry about him hurting you." I told her, judging from her old situation I should probably talk to Hestia about what I should do. I had a few options in mind, consisting of taking the girl to Camp halfblood, or maybe I should take her to the Hunters of Artemis? 'Lord' I thought, 'Just getting into their camp would be incredibly difficult'.

MEANWHILE...

In The Throne Room Of Olympus...

Zeus shouted saying, "SILENCE!". Silence surprisingly feel, a feat almost unknown, however in this time of panic it was justly called for. The gods turned their attention towards Zeus who started thinking. Then after gathering his thoughts he began speaking saying, "We must find Perseus, he is the key, the dominate power card, he will lead us to victory."

"We must find my son either way", another voice said, of course this was the voice of Poseidon. The gods listening murmured in agreement. When the council was finally dismissed, there was one key point everyone agreed on, the son of the sea god, Perseus was needed once again. However Hestia had overheard everything, and quickly called a meeting with her champion.

Back with Perseus...

I sat down with Alona in a park, finally turning to her saying, "I am going to do something very strange and take us somewhere, do you trust me?"

She looked at me with her brown eyes, thinking about it, "Yes I trust you! You helped me when I needed it most, you have treated me with kindness, I trust you." With that confirmation I nodded, and flashed myself to Hestia's palace. Once we set down, I saw Hestia sitting on the couch waiting for his. She seemed to be in deep thought, walking up to her I whispered to her saying, "Hestia? I'm back."

She looked up quickly saying, "Oh gods! Percy don't scare me like that again!" I was laughing until my stomach started to hurt, finally she gave way, first to a grin, then to a smile finally she joined me in laughing. Then we sat down and started to talk.

"Alright Hestia, I've finished the mission you sent me on, this is Alona", I said introducing Alona to Hestia.

Hestia looked kindly upon the child before saying, "Daughter of Athena, please do not be frightened Percy and I are here to help you." Alona just simply nodded in understanding.

"Hestia, should I take her to the hunt? Considering all her traumatic incidents in the past. I was thinking I could just drop her off, tell her what to do to get into the hunt, and then she would have a new family."

Hestia looked towards Alona asking her," Is that what you want Alona? The Hunt is a very kind place, they will take care of you, protect you, teach you; they will become like your new family."

Alona replied saying, "Yes please! I always wanted a real family, but will I ever get to see you two again?" I looked at Hestia, the chances weren't very high, maybe once or twice if I got caught sneaking in, but my playing was to stay away from the gods.

"yes, you will see us again Alona", Hestia told her. "Percy I think it is time, bring her to the hunt. Then we have other matters to discuss..."

I shivered at the tone Hestia was using, something didn't feel right.

Chapter 3 is a rap.
