Chapter 18

Harley huffed as he gazed outside of the window, crossing his arms together and resting his chin on them, pouting as he moved once more trying to get comfortable on the chair he was sitting on. His back was facing Peter and the terror that were the Coulson kids, ignoring how the three of them tried countless times to make Harley participate in their roughhousing and tiring games. It wasn't that, Harley hated playing with the three of them, in fact, he loved playing with those three sometimes, roughhousing and then sneaking away unnoticed and let them frustrated and search for him. Sometimes though, Harley just needed some time to sit alone and be left with his thoughts, wondering and thinking and trying to separate his chaotic thoughts into boxes so he can understand them better.

Today was such a day that Harley needed a little time alone; Harley didn't even notice Lila coming to convince him to play with how occupied his mind was which made his friend roll her eyes before going back to Peter and Cooper and jumping her brother to strangle him. Harley hummed as he tilted his head a little, his eyes were tracing every movement taking place on the street, counting the flowers in each lawn, tracing the movement of pet cats and dogs, and counting the leaves that fell from the tree and were blown over by the wind.

Harley snuggled into his arms, his mind drifted toward what happened a week ago; part of Harley was still in disbelieve, wondering how and why Mr. Tony didn't punish him for breaking the glass even when it was an accident, another part of Harley was wondering if Mr. Tony was afraid of Mr. Steve leaving if he raised a hand on Harley so that's why he didn't touch him. The idea of not being punished for an accident was unheard and unthinkable to Harley, it was like a joke that his mind refuse to make sense of.

"Mama is special, Harley, he just is!"

Peter's voice filtered into his mind, reminding him of what his friend (Or was it brother now that Mr. Steve and Mr. Tony adopted Harley as their son too?) said the first time Harley met Mr. Tony. It was true that Mr. Tony was different than other Omegas, gentler, calming, and never gets angry, but Harley knows that it would change as soon if not before the Rogers family get tired of him than it would be as soon Mr. Steve and Mr. Tony are going to have a baby of their own.

Harley may not be smart-smart as Peter, but he was people smart, he knows what change people, he knows what to do to appear unthreatened, he knows what to do to make them happy and how to force himself to smile and give them what they want so they would leave him alone. Peter may think that Mr. Tony was special and amazing, and maybe he was, but Mr. Tony, Mr. Steve, and even Peter would change once they have another baby coming into the house.

"Once the baby in, the dogs get thrown out!"

Harley remembered that saying in one of the neglected foster homes he was forced into; he still remembered how his foster sister laughed in his face as she said these words, snickering as she gave her back to Harley. Harley didn't want to believe in such words, after all, he was not a dog, nor was a baby going to change someone's life so dramatically, that such nasty actions would take place… Harley always believed that, until he was thrown back into the orphanage the second day after Mrs. Joe told her husband she was pregnant.

Harley knew that Mr. Tony was kind, he knew Mr. Tony saved him from bad things that were going to happen to him if he stayed on the street and he also convinced Mr. Steve to hurry the adoption process so Harley would go live with them. He knows that Mr. Steve was kind and that Pete would always have his back. It didn't stop Harley from waiting for Mr. Tony to convince Mr. Steve and Peter to return Harley to the clinic; it didn't stop him from thinking of the worse and brace himself for the bad future that was going to happen. That's why Harley needed to be prepared, that's why he had to stop from getting attached to the Rogers family more than he already did.

It didn't stop Harley from fantasying though. It didn't stop him from staring at the Rogers house and dream about what it would be like to return back home every day and get hugged tightly, it didn't stop him from wondering what would happen if Mr. Tony accepted for Harley to stay with them even after having a baby… it didn't stop Harley from calling Tony 'Mama' and Steve 'Papa' in his mind. In the back of his mind, Harley always wondered what it would have been like if Mr. Tony and Mr. Steve were his real parents, he wondered what it would have been like if he was raised beside Peter as his real brother and Mr. Howard and Mrs. Sarah as his real grandparents…

Harley snapped out of his fantasy when he saw a taxi stop in front of their house, making Harley's heart pound in his chest at the thought that Mr. Steve was finally back home. Harley was about to call Peter and tell him about Mr. Steve being back, but he stopped in his place when he saw a strange woman get out of the car, making him blink and lean toward the window, trying to see the woman clearly.

It was a few minutes of the woman standing outside of his home, making Harley frown, wondering why the woman would stand in here for minutes without knocking on the door or leaving the streets. "Peter…" Harley called out, turning his head toward Peter only to see him too busy with Lila and Cooper to pay Harley any attention, which did nothing but caused Harley to pout and turn his eyes back toward the strange woman once more.

Harley narrowed his eyes when he saw the woman finally knocking on the door of their home, making Harley furrow his eyebrows when he saw the woman nearly entered their house when Mr. Tony opened the door to her. Harley saw how Tony frowned harshly as he closed the door behind him causing Harley to clinch his hands when he saw the woman trying to cage Mr. Tony.

Harley's breath hitched and he turned around to call Peter once more only to see him running and laughing with Cooper and Lila running to the second floor and leaving Harley alone; a gasp left Harley's chest and he turned to see Mr. Tony and the strange woman causing Harley to swallow harshly and stood up, running toward the door and hoping to help Mr. Tony before that strange woman does something to him.

"Tony…" Harley called out as soon as he crossed the street; his heart was pounding tightly in his chest as he reached Tony and the strange woman, trying not to flinch when the woman send Harley a glare, looking like she wanted to slap him for his interruption. "Come on, we need to go…" Harley nearly choked on his breath when he took hold of Mr. Tony's hand, trying to pull him toward Mr. Clint's house without shaking in his place at the annoyed and angry look the woman was sending his way.

Harley knew he should have stayed with Mr. Tony when the man told him to distract Peter, he knew he should have pulled Mr. Tony with him and ignore the harsh looks the woman was sending, he knew he shouldn't have left Mr. Tony alone. The thing was, Harley was scared and as soon as Mr. Tony gave him the permission to leave, he took it and run toward the house hoping that Mr. Clint would help and save Mr. Tony from the scary woman outside.

Harley didn't know what he did when he ran to search for Mr. Clint, all he knew was that his asthma was kicking in when he found the other Omega, pointing to him about Mr. Tony being in trouble. It was when Harley noticed Mr. Clint taking a gun that his breath left him completely and he was left gasping as he tried to follow Mr. Clint, hoping desperately that the strange woman wasn't a criminal who would hurt Mr. Tony badly. It was Harley's fault; he shouldn't have left Mr. Tony's side he should have stayed beside him. Standing near the front door, Harley's hand went to his jacket's pocket, getting out his inhaler and taking a deep breath, trying to calm down before something bad happened and he passed out.

"Harley? What's wrong?" Peter's voice filtered in his hazy mind, causing Harley to blink his eyes and turn to the side, seeing Peter standing beside him with worried eyes, no doubt wondering what happened that Harley's asthma acted up.

"A strange… w-woman… is t-trying to… hurt Tony." Harley managed to gasp through his harsh breath, trying to take a few deep breaths from his inhaler; his words caused Peter to choke and nearly run out of the door, causing Harley to curse and rush behind him, gasping when they reached Mr. Clint and Mr. Tony. The absence of the strange lady made Harley relax a little, but his breath left him a second time as soon as he saw Mr. Tony shaking before he fainted, causing Harley to freeze before letting out an alarmed cry followed by Peter who screamed and rushed toward Mr. Tony with tears in his eyes…

This was his fault…

Steve gasp as he finally reached the hospital, getting out of the car while Bucky was still parking, ignoring the Alpha's shouts for him to look out as an ambulance rushed in front of Steve making him freeze until the car passed him before he continued his run, ignoring how his friend was ordering him to calm down and stop before a car hit him this time. And how can Steve calm down when his husband was in the hospital?

Steve can't calm down, and he won't, especially when he was called when he was with Fury in a meeting, only to be informed that his husband was in the hospital; the reason for that? Peggy fucking Carter! How did that woman even come here? She knew damn well not to come near Steve or Peter at all, what did she do? She came into his home when he wasn't there and did something that ended with his husband being thrown in the hospital.

Hearing that, Steve ignored everything around him as he rushed toward his hotel room, gathering his stuff before rushing to the airport, using one of Howard's private jets to arrive in NY all the while he nearly ripped his hair off all the way until he reached home. Part of Steve was angry at his oversight, wondering how did Peggy know about his home, wondering what she did to his husband and children; another part was blaming Steve, growling at how idiot he was, wondering why he didn't bring his family with him to DC.

Steve didn't care about the nurses snapping at him or even the guards that no doubt were following him, thinking that he was a crazy maniac with a bomb. "Where is he?" Steve called out when he finally saw Natasha and Clint talking to each other with serious faces, which made Steve's heart jump at that.

"Wow, the hell, Steve? Calm down, Tony is fine; he is in the room with the kids." Clint said when his eyes fell on Steve, no doubt taking him in and wincing at what he was seeing; Steve won't even fault him, not when he was feeling like a mess and no doubt looked like one too.

Ignoring the guards and nurses that indeed follow him, Steve rushed toward Tony's room, his heart pounding uncontrollably in his chest, thinking that something happened to his husband. "It is OK, sweetheart, you did great, I am so proud of you…" Steve heard as soon as he entered the door; the sight in front of him, made Steve relax, the tension that took over his body let go of him and he nearly fell down on the floor from how relieved he felt. Tony was sitting in his bed, Harley and Peter are lying on each side of Tony on the same bed as they held him tightly, hiding their faces in Tony's chest, that sight made Steve smile.

"You are really planning on giving me a heart attack, aren't you, sweetheart?" Steve said as he entered the room, causing the three to turn their heads to Steve, calling his name as they tried to untangle themselves and rush toward him; Steve only laughed a little as he crossed the distance between them and sat on the side of the bed, pulling the three of them into a hug and holding them tightly.

"I am fine; I have been telling everyone that. They are overreacting, I just fainted because of the heat, and I didn't need to be brought to the hospital for nothing." Tony huffed, a smile stretching on his lips as he leaned up to kiss Steve, which caused the Alpha to hum and lower his head, kissing Tony deeply on the lips before pulling back and nuzzling his right cheek. After assuring himself that his mate was fine, he then lower his head and kissed his kids on the forehead, telling them how proud they were and how brave they are. "So, am I going to go home, now?" Tony asked, leaning on Steve and widening his eyes, hoping that Steve would hear his plea.

"The heat you say? Then why didn't they discharge you unless they think something is wrong?" Steve asked, running his hand through the kids' hair before nuzzling Tony's neck, causing the Omega to grumble and huffing, probably annoyed that Steve didn't fall for his pleas.

"That's because Dad, is too much of a scary cat to let me return home, as soon as Clint called him, he and Ma panicked and held me hostage in here," Tony murmured, his words gaining a laugh from Steve who shook his head at how childish Tony was; that didn't stop Steve from being grateful to Howard and his mother, at least the two of them knew how to rein Tony before he did something reckless.

"Mr. Rogers." The doctor called out which made both Steve and Tony blink their eyes, letting go of each other before turning to the Beta who was blinking in surprise at the sight they were making. "I see…" The female said before smiling causing Steve to relax a little, turning to the kids before ushering them outside with Natasha and Clint. If the doctor had important news, bad or good, Steve wanted to discuss them with Tony before informing the kids about it.

"So doctor, tell us the news," Tony asked, getting out of bed and ignoring how Steve tried desperately to get him back in bed; count on Tony to ignore his health and walk around the place after being admitted to the hospital not a few hours ago.

"Well, first of all, congratulations are in order." The doctor said with a soft smile on her face, as she looked through the chart in her hand; her words causing both Steve and Tony to look at each other before turning their attention back to the doctor. "You are pregnant Mr. Rogers." The doctor said causing Tony to let out a 'Huh?' and sway a little before Steve managed to gather himself enough to hold his husband. "It seems that the reason for fainting was due to stress and being in an extreme situation; you really need to take more care of yourself, Mr. Rogers…" The doctor said a few more things, not that Steve or Tony were paying enough attention, not when both of them were lost and speechless.

It wasn't until the doctor left that both Steve and Tony managed to snap out of their stupor, the two of them looking at each other before Tony went to set on the bed, his legs became too weak to hold him up. "Are you OK?" Steve asked after a few minutes, coming to sit beside Tony who leaned on him, his nose scrunched in deep thoughts. "What do you think?" Steve prompted Tony once more, trying to make him talk; his action only got him a blink from Tony before the Omega let a tired sigh.

"I am scared…" Tony ended up saying, his words causing Steve to hold his mate tightly, letting out calming pheromones in hope of Tony relaxing. "I mean… we have two kids to take care of… are we even ready for a third?" Tony asked, his voice breaking and his hands were twitching causing Steve to sigh and kiss Tony's head.

"Are you scared because you think we are moving fast or because you are pregnant?" Steve asked, studying how Tony flinches at the second half of the question which gave Steve the answers he needed. "You know this won't be like the last time, do you?" Steve murmured causing Tony to shift and look away from Steve, his hands clenched tightly into fists. "This time you have me, you have our family, and our friends are there too… in the end, the choice is yours, Tony." Steve continued, causing Tony to shudder and wipe under his eyes.

"What if I lost the baby, Steve? I can't… I can't…" Tony took a shuddered gasp, turning toward Steve and holding into him tightly, letting out a whine as he hide his face in Steve's neck, taking his mate calming scent to stop the panic attack that wanted to take hold of him.

"It won't, sweetheart; I won't allow it, nothing bad would happen, I am here," Steve whispered, holding Tony tightly and refusing to let him go trying to calm him mate before Tony started thinking unnecessary things and panicked. Personally, Steve won't mind having another child; a baby that was part of him and part of Tony sounded like a dream come true. In the end, it was Tony's choice, and so far, Tony was terrified by the idea of getting pregnant, fearing that the baby would end up having the same fate as Tony's first child. For Steve, it may have been irrational fear, but he knew that for Tony, the Omega was terrified by that thought; that's why the two of them never talked about having a child of their own. Adoption, they talked about it, they even talked about fostering children; but when it came to having their own baby, Tony became a mess, that's why the two of them postponing this conversation as much as they can…

Steve didn't think that their first discussion would start like this…

In the end, it took two weeks, numerous panic attacks, and hundreds of late-night talks for Tony to decide the next step he wanted to take. Tony would admit it was not the best time for him, especially when he was a mess half of the time; no doubts that Harley more than Peter thought his action was because of Peggy Carter if the sad and teary looks he was sending him was anything to go by. Steve's concern looks made everything worse, especially when Tony manage to see the guilt hidden in his eyes, probably the man thinks that it was his fault that his ex-wife finding them and stressing Tony until he fainted.

To be truthful with himself; Tony was terrified to death. Pregnancy was something that he tried to avoid like a plague, fearing that any pregnancy he would go through would end up like his first; with a dead child and a drunken mess that was Tony. He doesn't even know how he ended up pregnant; he always made sure to take his birth control daily and even remind Steve to wear a condom if the two of them weren't too lost in their heat and rut. So it stomped him to be informed that he was pregnant… in his third month no less.

It took weeks for Tony to wrap his mind around the scary mess that was his pregnancy and his scared mind, it took him the countless conversations with Steve and even an emergency visit to Betty to calm down a little bit. Steve told him that it was his decision and that he would support him in whatever choice he was going to take; but the thing was if Steve left a decision like this to Tony, he would never get an answer that wasn't half-hearted or disastrous in some way.

But in the end, Tony managed to calm down enough to start thinking about his pregnancy without panicking about dead children and the mess that was his first pregnancy. After thinking long and hard, Tony realized that part of him was content with the pregnancy, even happy that he managed to get pregnant; Tony knew that Steve would have his back and is probably overjoyed at the notion of Tony being pregnant, even when the two of them adopted Harley not even three months ago.

It started with Tony being terrified of his pregnancy, trying to deny the baby he was going to have desperately; it ended with Tony finally gathering the courage and going inside the one room in his home that stayed closed for years and years. Going inside the room, the hurt and nostalgia took hold of him as his eyes took the room, smiling sadly when he saw how clean and tidy the room was, no doubt thanks to Steve who always took care of this room when Tony was too wired up to even go inside.

The hour he spent in that room, was the sadist and happiest one he went through, it remind him of how happy and joyful he was when he moved into this house, how he spent the days and months talking to his baby and waiting for him to be born into this world. By the end of his visit, a decision made itself known, and all the doubts left Tony as went to his husband to tell him about his answer.

The joy and happiness he saw in Steve's eyes, was everything to Tony; he held into Steve tightly as he listen to Steve's reassuring words, as he whispered in his ears over and over again that he would protect them and that everything was going to be fine.

"We should tell the kids…" Tony mumbled, stretching his body over Steve, purring when his Alpha started running one of his hands over his back. "We also need to go to my doctor; Dr. Cho would probably rip my ears off for not contacting her for a long time." A smile crossed over Tony's face when he heard his Alpha chuckle softly at his dilemma.

"If you want, we can tell them after dinner time, knowing both of them won't eat that well if we tell them the news before dinner," Steve mumbled, leaning down to kiss the top of Tony's head, which made Tony purr happily and snuggle into his mate.

"Yeah… that's a good idea… takeout?" Tony asked which got him hum and a kiss from Steve, causing him to purr happily at how affectionate his Alpha was being more than usual, and his usual was not allowing Tony out of his sight without hundreds of kisses.

Steve and Tony discuss how to tell the kids about the baby for a few more minutes before leaving the bed, taking turns showering before ordering takeout, not so surprisingly, the kids came running when they saw the delivery man stopping in front of their house, which informed Tony that the kids were not so secretly staking out the house. As always, dinner was a lively affair, with both Harley and Peter trying to steal as many slices of pizza as their stomachs can handle, which did nothing but made Tony concern about sick children come tomorrow.

"So… we want to talk with you about something." Tony started when the four of them sat in the living room to watch a movie; Tony couldn't help looking at Steve with a nervous smile on his face, not knowing how to open the subject of him being pregnant with Harley and Peter, should he blurt it out just like that? Or should he give them the pros and cons of having another baby in the house? "I… we… I… Steve a little help?" Tony asked a flush taking over his face at the thought of not being able to say what he wanted to say without blushing like a maiden.

Steve the mean bad husband, only chuckled and leaned down to kiss his cheek, ignoring how Peter screamed 'Eww!' and gaged, while Harley scrunched his nose and gave them a judgmental look. "What Tony meant to say is… in a few more months another family member is going to join us…" That made both Harley and Peter still looking at Tony and Steve with the confused looks (Peter) and blank ones (Harley) which made Tony a little concerned. "Tony is pregnant," Steve said, which made Peter's eyes widen before he squealed, jumping off his seat and rushing toward Tony, taking a mile in a second, giving Tony a little whiplash trying to make sense of what his son was saying.

Tony glanced at Harley, wanting to see the boy's reaction to the news, what Tony didn't expect to see was the trembling lips and the clenched fists in his lap as the boy tried to hide. "Harley, sweetheart, is something wrong?" Tony asked, passing Peter to Steve before standing up, going toward the boy who nearly flinched when Tony came near him.

"I am g… going to pack…" Harley whispered his breath hitching as he stood up, sniffling as he tried to sidestep Tony and run to his room; Harley's words caused both Tony and Steve to freeze looking at each other with a confused look burden on horrified.

"Pack? Why do you need to pack, honey?" Tony asked, pulling Harley gently in his arms, causing the boy to shake and let out a pained whine. "Who told you this, sweetie? Please tell me…" Tony cooed gently to the boy causing him to whine once more.

"W… w-when the… b-baby comes… t-there is…n-no place f-for…" Harley didn't continue his sentence, letting out a whine as he hide his face in Tony's chest, the sobs he held in tightly were let loose as Tony held him in his arms, calming him down and nuzzling his head and cheeks.

"No, baby, no, that's not true," Tony whispered, looking at Steve who stood up and came beside them, crooning softly as he pulled both Tony and Harley into his arms. "You are our baby, sweetheart, why would you think something nasty like that?" Tony murmured, kissing Harley's forehead, causing the boy to whine as he held Tony tightly.

"A new baby won't change that Harley, you are our son, we told you that," Steve said, which only succeeded in gaining another sob from the boy who hide his face in Tony's chest, shaking and mumbling something under his breath, causing both Tony and Steve to look at each other with concern; they stayed like this until Harley calmed down, and by that time, both Harley and Peter were too tired to keep their eyes opened. Both Steve and he didn't know what to do, other than to ask Betty for some advice about this situation, knowing that this would probably cause Harley sleepless nights until they nip the problem from the bud…

This wasn't what they expected…

It took time before Tony and Steve managed to get the story out of Harley's mouth, and when they heard what Harley went through; the two of them barely managed to stop themselves from searching for Harley's previously foster home and destroy them for that they did to their son. Needless to say, the days after Harley's breakdown was spent reassuring the boy that they won't abandon him and that a new baby won't change that. Tony and Steve doubted that Harley believe them, especially with how attached he became, refusing to leave Tony or Steve alone unless it was to school; even Peter was having a hard time managing to get through Harley, not being able to move Harley from their sides even with the promise of going to their corner in the workshop.

It made them concern, how the boy was so sure the two of them was going to get rid of him just because they were having another baby; they even talked with Betty about this behavior, and no matter what new approach the woman tried to use with Harley, it was of no use, the boy kept sticking to Steve or Tony's side, following them everywhere they went… Tony was so going to destroy that family when he was going to find them.

Today was one of the good days it seems, Harley didn't have any anxiety or aggravate his asthma from how wound up he became, plus Howard was coming to babysit the kids because according to him, he missed the two street urchins (He mainly say that, because the Harley and Peter always win his money in card games). Taking it as their chance, Steve and Tony went to the doctor's appointment, both of them were excited and a little bit overwhelmed about the news they would no doubt receive.

"Calm down, baby doll, I can hear you thinking all the way over here," Steve murmured after an hour of their wait, causing Tony to blink and give Steve a nervous smile; it was hard for Tony to calm down, especially when he was thinking about how Harley was doing at home, and let's not forget the baby he was carrying.

"Well, it's a little hard to calm down…" Tony mumbled before leaning on Steve, furrowing his brows in deep thoughts. "Say, do you want a boy or a girl?" Tony asked suddenly, causing Steve to blink in surprise and turn his eyes to Tony who had a mischievous look on his face. "Don't you think we are already outnumbered with two adventurous boys? What about a girl to help balance things down?" Tony wiggled his eyebrows causing Steve to snort and let out a chuckle, leaning to kiss Tony's cheek before pulling back.

"I don't really care, as long as they are healthy and happy, that's all I care about," Steve answered, causing Tony to flush in happiness before he turned to the side, ignoring the knowing look that Steve was sending his way. As always, his husband was so sweet and understanding that Tony wondered how he landed the jackpot without even trying.

"Mr. Rogers?" A nurse called out, nearly causing Tony to jump out of his chair if it wasn't for Steve holding his hand tightly and steadying him. The two of them stood up, following the nurse to the office, Tony's anxiety was increasing by the second and the only thing that held him from running away was Steve's gentle hand on the small of his back as it steer him to their destination.

Meeting Dr. Cho was as nerve-wracking as it was the first time, making Tony wish that he wasn't here in any shape or form; but Tony was pregnant, and he needed to make sure that his baby was going to do OK, that it won't be affected from the car accident he had more than twelve years ago. So swallowing his pride and fears, Tony went through the exams and tests and held Steve's hand tightly when his mate tried to calm him down.

When everything turn out to be fine, Tony could only let out a relieved sigh, nearly falling on Steve's shoulder like a doll without its strings when the tension left him. When it was time for the ultrasound, Tony held Steve's hand tightly, fearing that if he let go of his husband, this stupidly beautiful dream will disappear and Tony would be once again alone. Seeing his child for the first time, caused tears to finally run down his face, the experience being as magical as it was the first time that Tony experiences it thirteen years ago…

Tony couldn't help but feel like he was finally breathing after years of drowning…

Tony waited until he was five months before telling their friends (Being amazed and thankful for his husband's shirt for hiding his small bump) one of the reasons for that was because he was scared that this was a dream; he wanted to make sure that the baby was really here with him before telling everyone. The second reason was that Tony doesn't know how his friends would react to him planning on having another child; trying to adopt Harley after a month of marriage was mind-blowing as it is, what would they say when they knew about Tony being pregnant with another child?

Tony didn't really care about it that much, Harley, Peter, and the little bean he was carrying was one of the best things in his life; Tony can even see the same emotion reflecting in Steve's eyes. As long as his Alpha had his back in this then everyone was going to be OK; it would be nice if his friends stood with him on this. He knew that Howard would just sigh and shake his head, but when it comes to it; his Dad would have his back without another word added. Clint and Winnie would definitely take his side on this, especially when the two of them knew how Tony ended after his first pregnancy, being the main ones who took care of him when he was at his lowest. His friends… well, Tony really didn't know what they would think and how many mixed emotions they would have, they already thought that Steve and he were moving too fast with the adoption, even when they all adored Harley to bits and pieces; he just hoped they would shrug it off as one of his unpredictable treats.

So far Peter was the most enthusiastic one about the baby, going on and on about finally being a big brother and taking the baby with him on adventures and all the other things ten years old would say before pleading with their parents to give the baby to someone else so they could sleep. Harley on the other hand was still a little bit unsure about the baby, probably feeling threatened by the arrival of the new family member; no matter how much Tony and Steve tried to assure the boy of his position in their family, Harley was still walking on eggshells, clinching to Steve and Tony every chance he had as if he was afraid they would kick him out. So far the numerous visits to Betty and many family therapies didn't work out, no matter how much Steve and Tony tried to make Harley see that he was one of them.

After many discussions between Steve and him, the two of them ended up hosting a get together with their family and friends to tell them the happy news; Tony was still so nervous about telling his friends about the baby, feeling like this was a dream he was passing through and that he would wake up from any time now, which would be more heartbreaking than Tony wanted to think.

The shock on their friends' faces was priceless, nearly causing Tony to start laughing until he was on the floor; Howard nearly choked on the drink in his hand if it wasn't for Harley patting on his back and looking like he wanted to be anywhere but this awkward atmosphere.

"Damn, are you two trying to create a baseball team or something?" that was Bucky who seemed to be the first who snapped out of his shock, his exclaim, getting snorts and confused noises from their friends. "Like who would be the Godparents of those munchkins? You know I am not open for that position, right? I can't handle kids, Nuh-uh, buddy, anything but kids, especially the baseball team you seem to go after." Bucky's rant seemed to break the awkward atmosphere that surrounded everyone, getting a laugh and head shakes, as their friends finally gathered themselves enough to give Tony and Steve hard times; the good news though, everyone seemed to be happy for the two of them, just pulling his ears once or twice before they warmed up to the idea of another Rogers kid running around the place and creating problems…

Tony was really happy…

So what do you think?

Dun, dun, dun, DUN!

Tony is having a baby!

Poor Harley I just wanted to give him a tight hug.
