We hurried into position, my hands wrapped in Yayorozu's and Kaminari's, while Todoroki stood barefoot over all of us.

"3! 2!"

"Just one Target," said Todoroki.

Midoriya's team.

"1! START!"

Everyone headed at once to take down Team Midoriya, but our plan was to amass a few extra points before cornering him.

However, as the halfway point arrived - it was finally time.

We roller skated to a halt, right in front of him and his team - a front horse in the form of Tokoyami, and a left flank in the form of a girl I didn't know, from another course, with bubblegum pink hair, goggles, and a ton of gadgets covering her from head to foot, which seemed to be allowing Midoriya's team to fly when needed.

"We're coming for you, Midoriya," said Todoroki from over my head. "Forward, Iida."

"Got it!" I said, activating Engine.

"Yaoyorozu, prepare our guard and conductor."

"On it!"

"Kaminari -"

"Yeah, I know! Hang tight!"

As Yaoyorozu covered us with a sheet and kept us grounded, Kaminari unleashed it all. Indiscriminate shock. 1.3 million volts.

As the other teams around us were frozen in place by the electricity,. Unfortunately, it appeared that Tokoyami had blocked the blast, and Midoriya was still free.

"There's less than six minutes left. No going back," said Todoroki. As we flew forward, he called "Sorry about this. just endure it for a sec." His ice flowed down Yaoyorozu's armored pole, enveloping the ground, freezing them in place. A perfect team-up of our two strongest classmates.

"WHA-WHAT'S THIS? TODOROKI HELD BACK THE MOB OF TEAMS IN ONE FELL SWOOP!"

We seized the headbands of teams left and right as we blew forward towards Midoriya's fleeing team. Tokoyami swiped at us, but with Todoroki's call of "Yaoyorozu!" we were protected in a second by a shield.

Even so, Midoriya was able to evade us. No matter which way we turned - no matter how much ice Todoroki surrounded him with - we couldn't seem to corner him. Less than a minute left, and we still hadn't beaten him. It was time - for something desperate.

"Guys, we have less than a minute. I'm about to do something that'll render me useless, so I'm counting on you."

"Iida?" said our leader, quietly.

"Make sure you get it, Todoroki." This had better work. They're all counting on me. "TORQUE OVER, RECIPRO BURST!"

It was the second time I had ever achieved this move. The rush of wind and speed was incredible, as if moving along a new consciousness. And as we ground to a hault, having sped past Midoriya, I could see that Todoroki had done it. The 10 million point headband was ours.

"Iida, what was that just now?" Todoroki asked, and I could tell he was genuinely impressed.

"I can forcibly rev up my torque to explosive proportions if need be. However, as kickback my engines will stall. That was the trick up my sleeve I had never told my classmates. I thought I told you, Midoryia," I said, turning to him with a smile. "I'm challenging you."

I tried to keep a shaky smile, but the look Midoriya was casting my way was almost frightening. A manic glimmer in his eyes as his team came rushing at us - and now I couldn't move. The thrill of running had been replaced with a deadened feeling - as if I couldn't even lift my legs anymore.

And Midoriya was raising his arm - in the unmistakable gesture that meant he was about - to use his quirk. Standing above me, I could actually feel Todoroki shaking a little. He'd raised his left arm to defend, and in the face of the truck headed straight at us, had activated his left hand side's fire power.

Midoriya tossed his hand to the side, and Todoroki's flames disappeared. He hadn't used them - like he'd said, he wouldn't use them in battle - but Midoriya was now free to seize the headbands around his neck - and did.

"Wait a sec, that headband!" I heard the high, strange voice of the pink-haired girl crying. "We've been tricked!"

"Come to your senses, Todoroki!" I cried, as our leader was simply staring at his left hand in silence. "That was close!"

And Midoriya was charging us again. And the countdown was ticking the last ten seconds.

"10!"

Bakugou and his team came blasting through the ice.

"9!"

Yaoyorozu had created another blanket for us to use Kaminari's ice.

"8!"

Midoriya's team, hiding behind Tokoyami, was coming for us.

"7!"

Kaminari seemed to have exhausted his ability to use electricity.

"6!"

Todoroki was looking around, as if starting to panic.

"5!"

Bakugou too, was looking back and forth from team to team.

"4!"

Yaoyorozu started a new creation, a weapon for Todoroki.

"3!"

Midoriya's hand was inches from us.

"2!"

Tokoyami's reach came forward too.

"1! and it's over!"

I let out a breath. It was over. And…

"IN FIRST PLACE, TEAM TODOROKI!"
