"IT'S THE LAST MATCH OF HTE FIRST ROUND!" announced Mic. "THE BOY WHO'S BEEN FAMOUS SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL, BUT THAT'S NOT A NORMAL FACE! BAKUGOU KATSUKI OF THE HERO COURSE! VS! THE KID I'M ROOTING FOR! URARAKA OCHAKO OF THE HERO COURSE!"
They were facing each other now in the ring. Bakugou is at least half a foot taller than Uraraka, and he looked in the ring as if he towered over her.
"What was your plan for her, Midoriya?" I asked, trying to picture what she might do.
"Honestly, it wasn't much of a plan. Kacchan's so strong. He has hardly any weaknesses in close combat, and the more he moves, the more he sweats, which just makes his power more effective. But if she can touch him, she can float him out of bounds, and gain the upper hand. That's why it's obvious from the beginning that she has to make the first move.
"START!" Came Mic's announcement.
On cue, Uraraka charged straight into battle, close to the ground and not standing up straight.
As she reached towards Bakugou, he threw an enormous blast of explosion straight at her, blowing her back across the ring.
As we watched in horror, he did so again - though this time, hidden by the smoke, he only slammed - her jacket?
"WOW! SHE MADE HER JERSEY FLOAT AS A DECOY! YO, SHE MUSTA DONE THAT ON THE FLY!" cried out Mic.
But as the real Uraraka jumped behind him, prepared to float him, he simply blasted her back again.
And again, and again, and again. The ring was covered in debris, and Uraraka was panting and out of breath as Bakugou kept relentlessly blasting away at her.
"SHE'S PRESSING ON HER CHARGE WITHOUT A MOMENT'S REST, BUT…SEEING THIS…" said Mic.
Another attack - and another blast back.
"Yo, you sure it's ok to let it go on like this? This looks terrible!" someone in the crowd was yelling at the ref.
"HEY!" screamed some other pro in the crowd. "DO YOU MEAN TO BE A HERO WITH CONDUCT LIKE THAT? IF YOUR STRENGTH LEVEL IS THAT MUCH BIGGER, JUST BLOW HER OUT OF BOUNDS ALREADY! HOW DARE YOU TOY WITH A GIRL LIKE THAT?"
"AND THE STANDS STAND TO BOO HIM!" cried Mic, as the pros were yelling more and more at Bakugou. "YEAH, I'VE GOTTA SAY I AGR - OW! HUH? YOU ELBOWED ME - WHAT'RE YOU -"
His voice was cut off by Sensei's. "Who said he's toying with her? You a pro? How many years? If you said that in your right mind, then there's no meaning for you to keep watching. Do us all a favor and go home. I'd suggest looking into another career."
"Sensei?" asked Midoriya.
Sensei continued. " Bakugou's fierceness is an acknowledgement of his opponent's strength. He knows she deserves to have made it this far, and he's staying on guard because of that. It's because he's doing everything in his power to win that he's refusing to let his guard down or stay his hand."
AS we watche,d Uraraka turned to Bakugou and placed her fingertips together.
We looked up.
The pieces of the ring that Bakugou had blasted apart had been floating above us - and nobody had noticed…until they started falling.
"A METEOR SHOWER!" cried Mic.
Uraraka was heading towards Bakugou, who was looking up and aiming at the oncoming meteor shower. With him distracted, she'd have no trouble touching him -
Then he blew up the entire shower in a single blast, knocking her backwards.
"HE MUST BE CONTENT WITH HIMSELF, WITH THAT EXPLOSIVE SHOWING!" cried Mic. "HE TOOK URARAKA'S SECRET STRATEGEM AND CRUSHED IT!"
Uraraka had stood up to try and fight him again, but it had been too much - and as we watched, she collapsed, completely spent.
