Most of our internship proceeded this same way throughout the week. Mr. Musha didn't seem all that interested in what we did; we weren't allowed to use our quirks or interfere with villain fights, so we were mostly expected to observe.

From the looks of things, being a hero involved a lot more paperwork, grinding and patrolling the streets looking for things than I'd expected. Much less actual kicking butt.

While we were spending our time being frustratedly bored, Midoriya, Iida and Todoroki apparently ran into a notorious villain at their internships called the "Hero Killer". In the middle of the night, I got a random location text from Midoriya, which he'd sent out to everyone i group chat, right in the middle of the action. The details were unclear, but it seemed they'd encountered the super villain and been saved by Endeavor, Todoroki's father.

"It's so wild," Eiji said to me on the phone, talking about the text. "I was pretty worried about that text at first, but I never imagined they were actually being attacked by a villain."

"Yeah, and that one too, so scary! Running into scary ones is really - you know…"

I trailed off. This was the first time I'd ever referred back to the incident that we'd been involved in, back in middle school. I didn't want to upset him, so I tried to look casual, like I wasn't trying to infer anything. Eiji was silent for a long minute, then said, "Yeah. It's tough. Really separates the men from the boys."

"You love talking about manly things, huh?" I asked, hoping to change the subject.

Me, Aoyama and Hagakure were mostly lying around by this point and feeling frustrated. I curled up for the last night to sleep, and wondered exactly what kind of future I was headed towards.
