Ew hi I'm writing twilight, because guilty pleasure.

Forks was predictably grey. It wasn't new to Ren, Forks Washington was the rainiest town that she knew of. Of course she hadn't travelled to many places to begin with.
That was going to change with a stubborn resolve she'd decided that she was going to road-trip up and down the west coast before university.
As a senior at Forks High school senior her dreams weren't particularly large. She supposed, but it was what she wanted. The small main street smelt like sweet cedar as she stepped out her cheap small second-maybe-third-hand car. One hand she carried a six-pack of beer and the other a cheap water bottle with multi-coloured stickers tacked on.
A grin trained onto her lips as she skipped over to Tylers truck, the teen looked up grinning back. She jumped inside escaping the sprinkle of cool rain. Another storm.
"Rennnnnnn."
Ren laid back in the ratty seat her black fringe laying over her eyes, "Tylerrrrrr."
Tyler put the keys in the ignition, he'd been her best friend since preschool. Since he'd joined the basket ball team, track and soccer in Junior year they'd talked less but they still had a spark that made them party together.
"Did you lock your car this time Ms Smithers?"
"Yes Crowley, it was one time!" She was notoriously forgetful.
Tyler snickered pulling out on to the main street, he reached for the aux. Ren slapped his hand away turning her head, "I'm on aux your music is shit."
Tyler spluttered mouth open laughing, "Rude!" The highway dragged on as the forests of dark green rumbled past, Tyler hummed to the Backstreet Boys. He took the van off the road onto a dirt road. Ren's car didn't have clearance for the potholes of mud that Tylers beast of a van did.
"So whose coming tonight?"
"Uh - Jess, Mike, Lauren, Kev, Angela maybe if her parents let her out, most of the juniors, seniors some sophmore's were invited, some guys from the rez could show, but yeah."
Ren nodded her head pouting, "Aw can't wait to see my Jessica. Eric can't come though?"
"Nah. Parents."
"Ah."
Jessica and her had been rivals since grade 5, as well as best friends. Jessica was a nosy and loud but Ren saw her as her nosy and loud friend. They were a duo, Forks had named them as teenage menaces . Although both of them had higher than average grades in everything but math.
"You guys are fuckin' weird."
Ren sniffed, "We just show love and affection," she flipped her curly waves, "Doubt I'd ever see you and Mike get HALF as close, bestie."
"I prefer Jessica."
"Ouch."
Night fell quickly as they raced down the dirt track, Ren's head hitting the roof each bump. The music grew loud as they continued into the forest.
"Any word of the Cullens?"
Tyler shrugged, Ren understood completely the sentiment. The Cullen were gods among Forks, Jessica thought they were weird, Ren found them scary as fuck. Especially Rosalie. Most people resolved themselves to either liking the strange teenage family and hating their very existence. The Cullens had come to town a year ago and took over the Forks rumour mill.
"They've come to how many parties this year?"
Ren sighed, none.
She felt sympathy, Forks was even more dull without being drunk or high. Her group weren't druggies by any means, but bored teens did weird things to keep things interesting. Chief Swan and Doctor Cullen knew her quite well.
She had resigned herself to enjoying her senior year, to stop being anxious and sad. And so she was doing just that. She stepped out of the van lugging her beer to the clearing, she checked her phone.
9:30.
Bit early but it would do. She grinned jogging down to meet the crowd of people. She glanced around to find her favourite perky brunette. Mike gave her a friendly wave she smile lightly, Jess liked him, she had to keep it civil.
"Seen Jess yet?"
Mike smiled playfully, "Hi Ren how are you, I'm great thanks for asking."
Ren rolled her eyes, "Come on bud."
"Down by the log stack, she's trying to talking up Edward Cullen apparently," Mike said gesturing down the hill by the ditch. It had numerous logs stack on one another, a great place to sit. A favourite of Jess and Ren.
Ren raised a brow shocked, "Wow moody broody at a party?"
Mike scoffed "I know right."
Ren waved Mike away and climbed down to Jess who had already drank at least a shot of vodka with a big splash of tequila. Ren groaned as she watched Jess try to flirt with the pale bronze haired super model. Who seemed uncomfortable sitting on the log in his expensive black cashmere sweater. He looked annoyed as he tried to keep Jess's hands firmly away and stop her from falling off the pile.
Ren thought Edward was cute, hot even. But not her type. She was so over broken broody men.
She smiled awkwardly pursing her lips as her brown eyes met his golden tawny. Was tawny the right word? Anyway.
"Sorry Edward Jess is a bit handsy when she's tipsy," Edward raised a brow quietly, but didn't comment. He was in her modern history class, didn't talk much but she'd seen his test scores, he was like a genius or something.
She took Jess's shoulders, "Come Jess lean on me."
Jessica looked up her expression widened as she gave Ren a warm hug tackling her against the pointy logs, Ren giggled, "Ren! Oh My God. I have so much to tell youuuu."
Ren smooshed Jess's face with her hands, "I know you do, but I gotta' get a beer in first."
Jessica made a face, "Beer is icky."
Ren gave a pointed look sticking out her tongue, "Only thing Evan could get short notice." She couldn't wait until she was twenty-one.
"You gonna' shotgun it?"
Edward looked disgusted, Ren pondered it, "If I can get Tyler to do it with me, I always stab the hole too big."
Edward curled his lip, "You're not actually going to drink it like that,"
"Stop being so fancy Edward sound like you're straight from the 1900s, and with your douchey comment that's exactly what I'm gonna' do."
Jess squealed hugging Ren's side, Ren noted Edward didn't have any drinks on laughed as Jess squeezed her. She knew it was rude not to offer.
"Hey if you want a beer you can take one I can get Ty to drive you home after?"
"As in the same guy you're about to shotgun a beer with?" Edward scoffed "No thanks I got my car."
"Sounds good, I'm going to find Tyler, make sure Jess doesn't fall off okay?"
Edward pleaded back, "Can't you just take her with you?"
Ren tapped her lips pretending to ponder it, "Hmm no," she said dryily turning, "Oh Crowley!"
Edward looked on in distain, Ren didn't understand why he'd stayed so long. As she could see none of his siblings gracing the party. She felt bad, maybe he was lonely.
Maybe she was just a teensy-bit intoxicated out of her brains. Jess was mumbling incoherently on her lap while Tyler, Lauren and Angela had slung themselves over the logs. Edward hadn't moved, he was like some weird garden statue. He turned his head narrowing his eyes at her, she turned away stroking through Jess's brunette tresses.
"I heard the chief's daughter comin' home to daddy," Jess mumbled her gossip, "I volunteered to help Ms Cope with filing and overheard Swan on the phone."
Mike scrunched his nose, "She was up in Maine or something right?"
Jess corrected him, "Arizona actually."
Ren took out her phone, she took a selfie with Jess with stereotypical pouty faces. Mike photobombed with a peace sign. Ren blew her fringe out of her eyes once again, it was getting quite long. "Say cheese darling Jessica," she whistled looking at the photo, "That's one for the yearbook."
Edward still sat but leaned over just lightly to view the terrible photo, Ren grinned, maybe she could include him somehow. Edward look dejected, like he'd lost a bet and had to be put in a bed of snakes.
Tyler stumbled around back, he still looked a bit out of it Ren thought but in an hour he'd be okay. Her head felt like she was swimming in cherry red Jello. The world felt like it was constantly being spun out of control but Ren felt content with the music and vibe.
"Next weekend we should do some surfing or go visit the rock pools," Jess said, Mike. her and Jessica were the only avid crazy's of the group as most stayed on shore to watch them as they tried to catch waves. Even in the middle of summer the water was always bitter cold.
"Cliff diving," Ren said with her eyes closed, "I'm going cliff diving. Like, okay, I know last time I said I was gonna go but this time it's the real deal."
"You say that every time my friend."
"Don't do something dangerous like that," Edward said in a calm voice.
Ren quirked a brow, everyone else groaned, "Well Mr Moods, Now I have to do it."
"Now you've done it Cullen."
"Don't encourage her like that!"
"We're done for now."
"Edward your jaw looks nice."
The last voice was Jessica who had during the strife reached up and started to stroke Edward's perfect chiseled jaw.
Ren got up, and like a gymnast on a snowboard she climbed down from the logs to reach for another beer. Stumbling to the ground Ren falls forward slipping on the slippery rocks of the small creek. Catching her self with her arms she hears a small but noticeable pop of her wrist.
"Oh shit."
Edward cringed, "Are you okay Renna?"
Ren swore under her breath holding her wrist before trying to shake it off. "Ren you okay though?" Tyler asked, he was tipsy but no where near her level. She hummed back swaying on her feet, she grabbed the cool can of beer she closed her dark brown eyes.
"Yeah I'm fine I'll be good in a sec, honest."
Jess pulled her back up with her, Ren laid in her lap.
"You wrist looks wrong," Jess said without thinking, "It's like, wavy."
Ren looked at her wrist quietly, mumbling "So it appears," she supposed maybe the hospital would be for the best, it didn't look normal. But she didn't want to go.
Tyler sighed, "I can drive you to the ER."
"Tyler the vans breaks like hardly work and you're a bit too drunk."
"Ren you need to get that wrist looked at, I'll be fine."
Edward awkwardly interrupted , "I can drive her down, I haven't had any alcohol tonight."
Ren shook her head, she had nothing against Edward Cullen but she didn't need to go that badly. Imagine the town gossip that would be assured; "Renna Smitthers with Edweirdo Cullen."
What a nightmare.
She squeezed her eye closed, wrist aching. "No thanks Cullen I'm fine, it will be fine."
The rest of the group raised a brow, Jess pouted, "Ren please just go sit in a car with the hot guy."
Ren huffed, Mike tilted his head, "Just go Ren we'll be leaving in like two hours max, we'll hang at school tomorrow anyway."
Ren groaned, fine, it was true. Her wrist hurt and she was cold. Edward nudged her helping her down from the pile. She swore he basically carried her up the ditch by her elbow like an angry old man, until she called for him to grab her beer. There were a couple left. Edward looked annoyed but ended up walking back down to get it while she leaned against a pine tree.
Normal Forks. The guys were all so small towny. Not that she'd ever met a big city guy, she was sure her soulmate would be found in New York or Boston.
"Thanks," Ren drawled out, Edward took her arm guiding her to a muddy parking lot to a shiny Volvo. She was frankly jealous of the Cullen's money, her Mom was a secretary at the local clinic, not even the hospital. Her dad wasn't important enough to mention.
Every girl at Fork High school had confessed their love for the model that was Edward Cullen, Ren even, sopohmopre year, had asked him out. She wasn't an outlier, he was conventionally attractive. Sophomore year had been a weird year.
She shivered.
Edward stiffened as if trying to figure out what to do, "Would you like my jacket?"
"Absolutely not," Ren said, "Thanks" she added. Edward gave her a side eye of annoyance.
"Alright then."
"I hope your dad's in working he's always way quicker then old Doctor Asternm."
"My father is an excellent doctor."
"He stitched me up after a surf accident, he was like a sewing machine or something it was crazy," Ren rambled trying to rid the silence .
"A sewing machine?"
"I don't know Edweird," Ren blushed in embarrassment.
"My car's to the left, you can get in the passenger seat."
"Ok," Ren dipped her head get into the silver Volvo, the seats were a nice grey leather that was cool on her jean jacket. Edward walk casually to the other side, dipping his head he turn on the car with expert graceful precision. He turned on the heater it basted warm air onto her face. "I know we hardly know each other but thanks for driving me."
Edward just grumbled incoherently turning the wheel and backing up. "You gave me the perfect excuse to leave."
Ren snorted, she knew he wasn't there to get shit-faced like everyone else. "Why'd you come?"
Edward groaned, "Lost a bet."
"Typical. To who Emmett?" Emmet looked like someone who'd make bets such as that. The Cullens were really close siblings as well.
"Jasper actually."
Jasper was, Ren thought the weirdest of the bunch. Alice seemed okay, Rosalie looked bitchy but what high school girl wasn't? Hulking Emmett seemed the most 'normal' of the super models. But Jasper?
She couldn't imagine any other face other than his pain face. She was his partner in art class, she knew.
"Huh."
Ren watched the trees pass at an alarming rate. She wasn't sure she wanted to know how fast Edward was driving. The purr of the car was comforting, "Carisle should be working tonight."
"Coolio," Ren said awkwardly stretching out. Teenage boys were awkward. The 'Welcome to Forks' sign came into view as the rain started to patter quickly in the windshield, "You excited to the grad?"
Edward looked forward and mutely gave a response, "I guess," he grabbed the pack of beer from her lap and tossed it in the back. A minute or two later Swan's dirty old police cruiser came came rumbling down the road. Ren sighed hoping for the car ride to end.
Edward seemed to agree as he signalled to turn in to the hospital. Rolling to a park Edward stepped out, and at a gracefully slow pace he opened Ren's door. She gave him a half grin, and wrapped her black wash jean jacket closer to her body before jogging lightly to the glass doors of the familiar one-story hospital. Edward followed behind her, hands casually in his skinny jean pocket with the 'I don't care,' expression on his face.
Ren sighed wandering up to the counter, "Hey Ms Fish."
Ms Fish raised a brow, "Back already? What's the matter with you," she clicked her tongue clicking a few buttons on her computer before looking up again. "Dr Cullen is working ER tonight, go wait by the chairs he'll see you in a minute or so."
Ren sighed thanking the receptionist, her mom would have her head if she was rude. Even if she was drunk. Edward guided her over to the cyan waiting area chairs that sat on tack green carpet. The walls held poster about teen drinking, if Crowley was there he'd be nudging her and pointing saying: "Hey look it's you dumbass."
"You really shouldn't drink so much," Edward crossed his arms as Ren held her head in her hands.
"Nona' ur' business Cullen," Ren said in voice muffled by her coat.
Doctor Cullen came around the corner with a smile on his handsome face. Ren knew if she was few years older she'd be totally into him. "Renna? You can come back here."
Ren stood up following him slowly trying to hide her drunkenness , just one foot in front of the other. Soon enough she was up on the ER bed as Doctor Cullen took her blood pressure. Then he lightly smile.
"All good doc? I just need to get my wrist checked out"
"We'l have to get an x-ray on that, Have you drank any alcohol recently?"
Ren narrowed her eyes and straightened her back, "No," Edward crossed his arms, "little bit"
"If 5 beers, 2 shots of vodka and tequila is a little bit, I'm scared of want you drink normally."
"Doc can you make your son leave?"
"Edward leave me with my patient, go get her a bottle of water from the vending machine," Carisle dug through his pocket to find a dollar before he tossed it to Edward. Who stalks out of the room.
"I can just get my Mom to pick me up, she's working down the street."
Carisle poked at the bone in her wrist, she winced. "Did she know you were going to that party?"
"No. But whatever," Ren just didn't want to spend another minute with the weird Cullens.
Edward came back as she waited for the nurse to bring her a cast, he tossed a bottle of water onto her lap quietly. She smiled genuinely, "Thanks. You can go home though it's pretty late."
"Whatever, I've got nothing else to do."
"Sleep?"
"No thanks."
"Edward I'm fine, please leave."
Edward grumbled, sitting down, "No, I'll stay."
Ren raised a brow, this guy had serious boundary issues. "No dude, I'll see you at school," she waved more sarcastically than normal. "Bye Cullen."
He scoffed, and, finally, got up, "Bye."
That night was the start of Ren's story with the Cullens.
