(Two week later)
It's been two weeks since Hiccup received the videotape. It took him some time but with the help of Astrid he soon recovered. He and Astrid were now close friends. Whenever Hiccup wasn't in his lab or hunting down the Outcasts, he would spend time with Astrid. He and Astrid became quite close in the past two weeks. Pepper occasionally visited them and gave Hiccup reports about the company's performance. Sometimes she would talk with Hiccup and Astrid for sometime before leaving.
Hiccup was currently in his lab, working on upgrading his Armour. He had the armour lying on his work table. Most of the metal plates covering the arms, legs and the chest plate were removed and kept on another table. Multiple small holographic screens were showing diagnosis of different parts of the armour. Hiccup had a soldering iron in his left hand and a screwdriver in the other one. Sharp-shot was standing beside him, helping him in his work. "And there." Hiccup said as he used the screwdriver to hold down a wire and joined it to the armour by the soldering iron.
"Okay Toothless, show me the complete diagnosis of the Suit." Hiccup said. Toothless appeared beside him and a big holographic screen appeared in front of them, showing the complete diagnosis of the armour. "Hmm, the power supply is working properly. The upgrades should be able to decrease the power consumption by 50%, so the Suit can work for twice as long. Combined with the back up power banks, it can work even longer." Hiccup said out aloud as he observed the diagnosis.
"Wow, looks like you've done a lot of work on the Suit." Astrid said as she stood behind Hiccup. Hiccup yelped in fright and turned around to face her. "Astrid, don't do that. Please." Hiccup said as he took deep breaths to calm himself down. "Sorry." Astrid apologized. "It's okay." Hiccup said and proceeded to join back the disassembled armour. "Don't you get tired of all this stuff?" Astrid asked. "Nah, I love inventing. And there are some things which are more important." Hiccup replied while joining back the pieces of armour with the help of Sharp-shot. "Hiccup you need to take some rest. You can't just keep pushing yourself like this." Astrid argued.
"Astrid, please you know how important my work is…" Hiccup tried to argue back until Astrid grabbed him by his collar and said,"Now listen here Hiccup Hayden Haddock the third! You are gonna take a day off today and you are going to hangout with me this evening! Am I understood?"
Hiccup fearfully nodded and Astrid let go of him. "But at least let me finish reassembling the Suit." Hiccup said. "Fine." Astrid said and left the lab. "Wow sir, you got a keeper." Toothless said as watched Astrid leaving the lab. "Yeah." Hiccup absentmindedly said, but soon he realised what Toothless said. "TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup screeched as soon as the realisation hit him and the AI started to laugh.
(Few hours later)
Hiccup was finally done with reassembling the Suit. It took him longer than expected but he was finally done. He climbed up the stairs, into the living room and sat on a couch with a tired huff. "You ready to go out Hiccup?" Astrid asked as she entered the room, wearing dark blue jeans, sky-blue T-shirt and a leather jacket. "Wait what?" He asked in disbelief. "Are you ready to go out? You know it's almost evening." Astrid casually said as she sat beside Hiccup. "Oh come on." Hiccup groaned. "Hiccup." Astrid said in a dangerous low voice. "Okay, okay. Give me a few minutes to change." Hiccup said as he got up and walked over to the stairs leading to the upper floor of the building. "Don't keep me waiting" Hiccup heard her yelling as he climbed up the stairs.
(15 minutes later)
Hiccup was ready. He was wearing a pair of Black jeans, a V-neck Green T-shirt and a black jacket. He got downstairs to see Astrid waiting for him. "I was starting to think you were hiding in your room and I would have to drag you out." Astrid said as he descended the last stair. "Ha ha ha. Very funny." Hiccup said in an unamused voice. "By the way, you look good in that outfit." Astrid complimented. "Thanks. You don't look bad either." Hiccup said with a light blush.
"Enough talking, Now let's go." Astrid said and practically dragged Hiccup to her car. "Can I ask where we are going?" Hiccup asked as Astrid started her car. Astrid leaned back in her seat and looked at him and said,"Well, you see, my parents were going to go to the movies this evening but then they had some work and had to cancel their evening. So they gave me their tickets. And considering the fact that I wanted you to have some fun this evening, I thought why not put those tickets into good use."
"Ingrid and Harold Hofferson. Astrid's parents. Ingrid is a lawyer and Harold is a military officer." Hiccup thought, "Hope I won't regret it." "You won't. And yes. You said it aloud." Astrid said as she began driving.
(One hour later)
Hiccup and Astrid were inside the movie theatre. It turned out that the movie they were going to watch was going to start ten minutes later, so Hiccup went to buy some refreshments. Astrid wanted to pay for the refreshments but Hiccup insisted saying that he should also have some contribution in all this and left to get some popcorn and drinks.
So here she was. Standing in the hallway, leaning against the wall and waiting for Hiccup to return. "Hey Astrid! I wasn't expecting you here." She heard someone say. Astrid looked at her right and saw Snotlout walking over towards her. He was wearing a white shirt, brown jacket and a pair of dark blue jeans. "Snotlout." Astrid coldly greeted him. "Uh hey." Snotlout nervously said. "What do you want?" Astrid asked, looking away with a scowl. She wanted this conversation to end as soon as possible.
Snotlout took a deep breath and said,"I wanted to apologise for what I tried to do that night at Disney concert hall. I can understand if you hate me for it." Snotlout was expecting some tongue lashing from Astrid but what he heard shocked him. "It's okay, I forgive you." Astrid said as she stopped leaning on the wall. "Wait what?" Snotlout said in shock. "I said, I forgive you." Astrid said with a little annoyance in her voice.
"Who are you and what have you done to Astrid?" Snotlout joked, earning a series of chuckles from Astrid. "I think after spending so much time with Hiccup, he is rubbing off on me." Astrid said between her chuckles. "Maybe." Snotlout said as he chuckled himself. "So what are you doing here? It's not a normal thing to see you at the movies, all by yourself." Snotlout asked after he stopped chuckling. "Oh no I am not alone." Astrid quickly said "I am here with a friend." "And can I ask who this friend is?" Just then Hiccup came. He was holding two buckets of popcorn with his right arm and a tray holding two cups of soda with his left hand.
"Hey Astrid." Hiccup greeted her as he came close. Then he noticed Snotlout and greeted him too. "Hey Snotlout. What are you doing here?" Hiccup asked him. "Oh you know, I just came to watch a movie. Then the intervals started and thought why not go and grab some snacks. And met Astrid on the way." Snotlout said. "Wow, cool. Our movie is gonna start in a few minutes too." Hiccup said as he gestured towards Astrid with his head when he said the word 'our'. "Oh you're the friend Astrid was talking about." "Well yeah." "So is it a date?" Snotlout asked. What no, no no no no. It's not a date." Both Hiccup and Astrid blurred out as their faces turned red.
"Oh look at the time. The movie is just gonna start. It was nice to see you, Snotlout but we gotta go." Astrid said and practically dragged Hiccup out of there. "Okay Hiccstrid. Make sure not to do it in public." They heard Snotlout yelling which made them blush even harder.
As for Snotlout he watched them walking away with an amused smile before walking away to get some snacks.
Inside the theatre Hiccup and Astrid went to their seats, which were situated in a dark corner. They couldn't look at each other after their encounter with Snotlout.
But they soon eased when the movie began. The movie's name was "Alive". It was a movie about a suicidal boy who had amnesia, uniting the Dragons and humans after he tried to commit suicide and got rescued by a Dragon.
(After the movie)
"Thanks for this evening Astrid. I never had this much fun in a long time." Hiccup said. He was sitting on the passenger seat beside Astrid as she was driving the car. "Me too Hiccup. Me too." Astrid said, smiling at the memory of them together.
Just then she got a call. She picked up her phone and saw it was her mother. So she answered the call. "Hello, yeah it's me. What! Now? Okay okay, I am coming." Astrid said to the person on the other side of the phone. "What's wrong Astrid?" Hiccup asked with concern as he placed his left hand on her right shoulder. Astrid's heart skipped a beat when Hiccup put his hand on her shoulder. "Nothing. It's just Uncle Flynn came to visit and I have to go home." "Oh, it's okay. If you want to, you can go." Hiccup said, removing his hand from her shoulder.
"Thank you Hicc." She said while trying to hide her disappointment at Hiccup removing his hand from her shoulder. Luckily it went unnoticed by Hiccup. She soon reached Hiccup's house and dropped him off there. The bid each other goodbye and Astrid
