Author Notes: This is the Buffy timeline but a year behind to cannon. So instead of junior year it's the end of Sophmore year.

Xander walked the halls in confusion taking one last look around he guesses. Stupid punch, stupid Snyder, stupid mayor, stupid missing for a week Buffy. He walked into the library and saw Willow with a dejected face and Cordy looking at him a bit upset. "Cordy are you OK?"

Cordy shook her head. "No, not even close, we're breaking up!"

"What! Why!"

Cordy shook her head. "It's just rotten luck, you did nothing wrong OK. It's just after your broken arm, Willow's coma, and Kendra's death my parents realized Sunnydale might not be a safe place anymore. We're moving to either Paris or Hong Kong. You better believe I'm making them choose Paris but I suck at long distance so... I'm sorry."

Xander nodded and embraced her with his one good arm. His joke about avoiding extradition not worth saying "It's OK"

The two broke apart. He looked at Willow and saw her just as upset. "You breaking up with Oz too?

Willow shook her head. "No, at least I hope not, but I'm moving too. After the coma my parents are moving us to New York. I thought you'd still have Cordy and Buffy when she comes back."

Xander shook his head and let out a quiet laugh. "It's OK Will. I'm not exactly welcome here either I'm supposed to be clearing my locker right now."

Cordy looked at him. "What did you do!"

Xander looked at her. "It's not that important."

"What did you do?" Cordy repeated.

Xander's dropped his head in disappointment at himself. "Fine, I speared Snyder to the ground and popped him in the mouth. The AV club showed it as the morning news clip even put the NFL music in the background. They got suspensions I got expelled"

Giles looked at the boy a bit jealous for living the dream if anything but he has to be an adult. "Xander, you shouldn't have done that."

Xander held his one arm up innocently. "Believe me I know I blew my stack and it bit me in the butt hard because I have no way to fight back against what he did now."

Giles looked at him. "What do you mean?"

Xander frowned he didn't want them to find out about this. "After I helped blow Sunnydale's chances with the swim team my grades suddenly free fell from that time that I just found out about it and because of the move I'm missing finals. I have to repeat sophmore year."

Giles clenched his fist. "Xander we can help..."

"You can't." Xander replied. "My new school has the transcripts already the Mayor was nice enough to fast forward it so I can start fresh after my 'horrible ordeal'.

Willow eyes rose up when he said move she thought he meant political move by Snyder. "You're changing schools?"

"Will, I'm changing cities too." Xander replied. "Both parents black out drunk and no show a hospital visit I'm being taken from them and adopted... I think.. or their primary rights are being stripped... I don't know."

"That settles it getting my GED and moving to New York." Oz decided.

Willow's eyes lit up in surprise at Xander's declaration. "So where are you going?"

Xander shook his head. "I am going to be staying with My aunt Alexis and Uncle Robert. Apparently they weren't bluffing when they talked about getting me away from my parents."

Cordy went through her memories. "I don't remember them."

Xander nodded. "You wouldn't aunt Alexis is the white sheep of the family. They said they would do it if it came to it but I just thought they stopped when they adopted Tommy."

Willow smiled. "At least Angel Grove will be a cakewalk compared to Sunnydale."

Xander nodded seeing her point. But he turned to Giles concerned too since there was now no scooby in sight. "So, what's going to happen until Buffy gets back?"

Giles left his glasses in his hand. "I'm leaving with Joyce to find her, hopefully before the Watchers Council realize she's missing. The Council will likely send Kendra's replacement here once I give them the story of a road trip with Buffy to slay a demon."

Willow shook her head in disbelief. "I can't... I can't believe it's going to end like this. We've stopped the end of the world multiple times but we failed against responsible parents... how did this happen!"

Xander gave a shrug in disbelief. When she words it like that it really doesn't make sense. It's almost like something else is responsible.

Giles took out a group of index cards and wrote the same number on each one. "Well, you are all still children, maybe being away from the fight and a change of scenery will do you all good. But if you ever need help if you ever need me call this number no matter the time no matter the place and I will be there for all of you."

Cordy looked at everyone. "What the hell, Group hug?"

Everyone fought a smile but quickly joined in.

Xander stayed quiet in the backseat of the car. He waited for them with his suitcase ready to go. It's sad how little he actually had. The two hour car ride was peaceful enough with him catching up with his family.

"I think you're going to like Angel Grove Xander it's quiet and peaceful... most of the time." His aunt said from the passenger seat.

Xander smiled for the first time in a long time feeling the familiar feel of a parental figure. "I think the change will do me good. Except for friends."

"Don't worry Tommy made five friends almost instantly and even more after that." Alexis assured him.

Xander looked around the house it was nice and quiet and he apparently has his own room.

Alexis looked around confused. She thought Tommy would be here. "Tommy, you here." She turned to her nephew. "Well you can check out your room."

Xander walked upstairs now was it the room on the left or the right? He walked to the left and quickly realized his room is on the right seeing his cousin in the room with a girl kissing as Xander quietly went to the right until he heard someone coming up the steps and quickly tapped on the door getting the attention of the two without the person coming up the steps.

Xander watched as the two bolted out of the room as Tommy's mother came up the steps. Xander looked at Tommy he still has that long hair that can be a ponytail with a green plaid shirt and black pants and a brunette girl in a pink shirt and jeans.

Alexis looked at Tommy and Kim. "Kimberly? What are you doing here?"

Tommy immediately spoke up it was just a kiss as Xander came in. "We were just doing book reports for the Summer."

Alexis looked at him and then went into the room but nothing was out of shape and there were two reports on the Eyes of the Dragon at Tommy's desk. "OK, well that reminds me Xander you have to get the book too for your summer book report."

"Homework, during the summer? Snyder had his good moments, who would have thought." Xander answered.

Kimberly looked at Tommy's cousin seeing the cast on his arm. "What happened to your arm?"

Xander shook his head. "Nothing, it was just this thing at school."

Alexis looked at the two well this is something to force bonding time between cousins. "Tommy, can you and Jason maybe teach him some things to make sure nothing like the arm happens again."

Tommy smiled. "Sure I can help him out." Tommy waited until his mother was out of sight before turning to him. "We could have used a longer warning." He also wishes Jason and Trini would have stayed ten minutes longer.

Xander looked at him. "Hey, I thought you'd get her into the closet or under your bed I didn't think she'd come right out with you."

Tommy looked at his cousin and then realized yeah he probably should have done that. "Well thanks for the heads up."

"No problem?"

Tommy turned to his girlfriend and made the proper introductions. "Alexander Harris meet Kimberly Heart."

Xander held his hand up. "I prefer Xander and it's nice to meet you."

Kimberly smiled. "Likewise, now let's get you started on the summer book report."

Xander looked at Tommy with all the martial arts training he never took him for the type. "That's not due to September I thought."

Kim smiled. "It is, but if we hand in our reports and pass before the end of June Principal Caplan says we're allowed to ride four wheelers in September for a charity run. Even Bulk and Skull are trying now."

Xander had an ear to ear grin perk of starting over after all. "You know I can honestly say I've never been more motivated to do homework."

Xander smiled starting the book. A principal who motivates his students who knew they exist. Coming to Angel Grove was far from plan A but he can have a good life here.

I honestly have no idea who owns Power Rangers because of the hot potato games with it's license. I think it's Hasbro or Mattel now
