NicoleR85: thanks, glad you liked the fact that I added them.

The Phoenix sighed as she stared at the console, absentmindedly fiddling with some random part or another. Mickey…she was going to miss him. She was so proud that he had decided to stay with his Gran, to look after her. He was most certainly one of her favourite companions. "Are you ok?" the Doctor tentatively asked, stepping up next to her, touching the small of her back.

"I guess", the Time Lady mumbled "I just…I'm just gonna miss him".

"I know", the Doctor said softly.

"But I'm still so proud of him", the Phoenix continued "and I know he's going to do some good in that world".

"He could have done better in OUR world", Rose piped up, arms folded, glaring at the brunette "and if you'd not passed out, you could've talked some sense into him!"

"If I had been awake Rose, I would've told him to do what he thought was right", the Phoenix said, rounding on her.

"Well, Mickey thought wrong!" Rose argued "he should be in our world with me".

The Time Lady scoffed "I guess you must have a goldfish memory cos I remember quite distinctly that he broke up with you", when the blonde opened her mouth, she added "Mickey Smith made his choice and instead of bitching and moaning about it, you should be proud that he wants to look after his counterparts gran!"

Rose stepped back when the phoenix aura began to flicker around the Time Lady. "BOO!" a female voice shouted suddenly behind her, making her shriek and jump several feet into the air. "Oh that was sooo fun!" Raven cackled, loving how frightened the human was.

"Hello Raven", the Doctor greeted, pointedly ignoring the state the assassin was in.

"Dare I ask…?" the Phoenix questioned, nodding to the blood and unmentionables she was covered in.

"Fenrir's feeding time", Raven supplied "he was…enthustiac". She snapped her fingers and she was clean again.

"You know I haven't even met him yet", the Doctor remarked, recalling how the Time Lady had mentioned the Werewolf at Van Statten's museum.

"I'd be happy to bring him around later but first I kinda new your help Nix", Raven admitted.

The Time Lady sighed "what trouble did you get into now?" she asked.

"Nothing!" the Phoenix raised a brow "seriously, I didn't do anything…yet" the brunette shook her head with a smile at the word 'yet' "I've got a job: a creature hunt. Some magically inclined idiot has lost a klepto fur ball".

The Phoenix pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a breath of exasperation "oh that man", she grumbled.

"You know him?" Raven questioned, not as surprised as she should be. She knew that the Time Lady had met many, many interesting characters in her travels.

"Unfortunately, yes", the Time Lady confessed "Back in one of my earlier lives, he accidently stumbled across the TARDIS. Newt stayed with me for a little bit. He wasn't too bad but his Bowtruckle, Pickett, had a nack for getting into places he shouldn't. So I would be more than happy in helping you track down one of his Nifflers".

The assassin grinned "great!" she said happily "oh, before we go, Doctor would you mind doing me a huge favour?"

"That depends, am I going to regret it?" the Doctor asked, somewhat wary of what the 'favour' could be.

"Doubtful. All I need is for you to look after this little fella", Raven took Snapper out of her pocket "while we're on the job".

"Sure", the Doctor said. The assassin was about to hand the mini dinosaur over to him when he suddenly jumped out of her hands and ran over to Rose, chirping. The blonde screamed and ran away. The Compsognathus chirped again and chased after her. The Doctor sighed before running out of the room. Raven grinned at the Phoenix before taking hold of her arm and they disappeared through the blackhole beneath their feet.

Jacob stared at his surroundings with his mouth agape, hardly daring to believe what he was seeing. A large variety of strange creatures and several different landscapes. It was quite frankly impossible! "Newt, I don't think I'm dreaming", he stated to the Magizoologist as he watched a magnificent red bird soar through the air followed by a smaller black bird, a raven.

"What gave it away?" Newt asked, turning to him after soothing the Occamy babies.

"I ain't got the brains to make this up", Jacob stated.

"Oh, I don't know. Human's imagination often astounds even me", a female voice spoke up from behind him, making the man jump "though that is mostly children. Majority of adults seem to have a lack of imagination which is rather sad really".

"Who…Who are you?" Jacob asked, confused by this newcomer. She was a brunette haired woman wearing rather unusual clothing. Next to her was another woman with whiteish hair and dressed all in black.

"I'm the Phoenix but most people just call me Nix", the Time Lady said, introducing herself "hello again Newt".

"Nix", the wizard said, surprised "you look…different".

"Regeneration", the Time Lady shrugged.

"What brings you here?" Newt asked.

"Well, you actually", the Phoenix replied and reached into her pocket to pull out a small sphere from her pocket. She set it down and they watched it grow into the size of a football. The Time Lady tapped it and the sphere opened up to reveal a Niffler curled up inside. The creature shifted and looked up at her. "Oh no you don't", she said snatching it up before she tried to bolt "you're still in very big trouble missy" she glanced at Newt who had the decency to look ashamed "yeah…you know what you did".

"What did you do?" Jacob asked, lost.

"I accidently misplaced Jemima", Newt admitted.

"Misplaced", Raven snickered "meaning you lost her close to a jewellery store". The Phoenix handed the Niffler over to Newt who took her off the to nest.

"Right", the brunette said "anyway I've got to be off. I have a best friend to check in on, make sure he hadn't been eaten by Raven's dinosaur". She popped the sphere back into her pocket and backed up a couple of steps. "Brace yourself Jacob", she warned "you think what you've seen at the moment is impossible…watch this".

Jacob gaped as the Time Lady, closed her eyes and a red-gold glow appeared around her and she started rise up from the ground. "Holy Hannah!" he exclaimed as the Phoenix actually turned into the same red bird that he'd seen soaring through the sky several minutes ago. She hovered there for a moment, inclined her head at Newt before she flew off towards the ladder and out of the suitcase. Raven shifted into her bird form and followed after her. Jacob turned to Newt who seemed just as surprised as him "can you do that?" he asked.

When the two females arrived back in the TARDIS, the Doctor was waiting for them and looking somewhat worse for wear. In his hands was a rather wiggly Snapper. "Thank god you're back", he said moving forward and shoving the mini dinosaur at Raven "take this…thing away, please", he pleaded.

"What did Snapper do?" the Phoenix asked, trying not to laugh at his raggedy state.

"For one thing, he tried to eat Rose…" the Doctor started.

"Would that be such a bad thing?" Raven questioned "from what Nix has told me, it's a deserving fate for her".

"Hate to agree with birdy here but she's right", the Phoenix admitted, gesturing to her friend "however, as much as I hate Rose, I can't let her die and I won't kill her either".

Raven pouted "aw man…" she whined and the Time Lady shot a look at her "fine, I'll curb any impulses to kill Rose Tyler", she grumbled. She could still imagine it though and with a mind like hers, she could definitely come up with creative ways that would sate that itch to get rid of that human…for now at least. Raven popped Snapper into her pocket "Well I'd better get going. Thanks for the help Nix", she said.

"No problem", the Phoenix said "let me know the next time you need help and I'll lend you a hand. Unless its murdering or maiming someone".

"Will do", Raven promised. She opened up a black hole and was about to jump through it when she added to the Time Lady "oh congrats by the way. You're going to make an amazing mother". The Phoenix smiled as she hopped through the black hole, closing it up behind her.

"You really look like you were dragged through a hedge backwards", the Time Lady remarked, nodding to his state.

"Yeah…" the Doctor mumbled "I'm not keen on pet sitting Snapper again anytime soon".

"I'm sure Raven wont make you", the Phoenix told him "you wanna go to the med bay? I can help fix you up", she offered.

"Nah, that's ok", the Time Lord waved her off "I've actually got something to show you". Eyeing her best friend curiously, the Phoenix followed the Doctor through the doorway leading to the rest of the ship. They went along a couple of corridors before the Time Lord stopped outside of the door next to the Time Lady's bedroom. "Close your eyes", the Doctor lightly ordered.

The Phoenix looked at him for a moment before doing exactly as he said. The Time Lord opened up the door and took her hand, gently tugging her inside. He positioned her in the middle of the room and stepped back. "Now open", he said.

The Time Lady opened her brown eyes and gasped. "Oh…Doctor…" she breathed, taking in the room. It was a nursery. It was different to the one in her TARDIS but that didn't matter for it was for a lack of a better word…perfect. The Phoenix turned to the Doctor, eyes brimming with happy tears "you did this for me?" she whispered.

The Doctor nodded "I did", he confirmed "I know you probably have one in your TARDIS but I figured that if you travelled with me for a bit after the little one is born, he or she would have a place to stay".

"I-I don't know what to say", the Phoenix admitted, still a loss for words but was very touched by his thoughtful gesture "thank you so much". She hugged him, taking care not to squeeze him too hard given the injuries that Snapper had so graciously given him. "How can I repay you for this?" she asked, looking up at him.

"You don't", the Doctor replied "I told you that I would take care of you both and that's a promise I intend to keep, no matter what".

"Oh, Theta", she murmured, resting her head against his chest "what would I do without you?"

"You'll never have to find out Enya", he murmured back, tightening his arms around her waist but being mindful of the little life she carried within her "I'm not going anywhere".
